I am pregnant from a guy who has been going through a very long drawn out divorce. I could've had an abortion considering the situation but I decided to keep her and my boyfriend has been nothing but supportive. My boyfriend is mid 30's has three daughters who I have not met the mom is very closed off and doesn't even want him around them. The court preceedings are taking forever and honestly he's been working and I haven't really seen him go see his kids for a while (I'm not sure if its because it stresses him out or he's waiting for another try at mediation beforehand) My question is this baby is due in four months (around Christmas) when should he tell the girls they are having a sister. Should I be on more him about it. The divorce is so nasty I try and stay out of it but I'm starting to wonder how this is all going to work. Has anyone been in the current situation or the child of someone who left and had another baby. Any advice appreciated He is still married but he lives with me the family know about me and the baby the wife knows about me and the baby its not like I'm a secret ive been with him through a lot of the divorce. We have been together for 3 years and I am finishing up my last year of college as an accounting major (full time offer lined up already after 2 internships). My boyfriend completed his Masters and has a full time career set currently. He and I have discussed getting married approximately within or around a year after I graduate - and he plans on popping the question before I graduate (not sure when). We already have our finances set up, jobs/career lined up, and a set (affordable) plan for how we will fund our wedding and where we will live (etc.). We have it all planned out. So I've talked to my father about it and he was supportive of the idea, however, my mom completely got emotional telling me I'm too young, I need to enjoy life first, asking if I'm sure he's "the one", that it makes more sense to just live together and then get married in two years, etc. Then she started crying and giving silent treatment when I was trying to calmly explain to her that he and I have it planned out, that I love him, that it isn't set in stone yet, that he and I feel it is actually financially in our best interest if we do get married and live together, etc. I'm just sick of seeing her lose her mind over this. How do I approach this topic with her? There's no doubt in my mind that I want to marry him. He and I have always had our own shared personal opinion that if we were to live with anyone and we were in a relationship with that person, that we would want to get married before moving in together. I should also mention that we are both religious (Catholic), and share a strong faith together. I should have phrased the sentence better. We believe that it is financially in our favor if we live together, and we faithfully believe that if we are to move in together, that we should be married. Plus, we're both have financial degrees (I'm with accounting and he's in finance with a Masters in Financial Planning). We aren't too worried and definitely understand the ins and outs financially and what we would be signing up for in regards to that with marriage. |

Over time, I learned that my husband, even though raised by both of his biological parents, he was basically raised that the woman does everything and the husband is allowed to spend money however he pleases. My husband's father spent all of the time he was married to my mother in law, spending all of his paycheck on women, alcohol and gambling and spent all of my mother in laws paycheck on bills and the remainder gambling. My mother in law never had a backbone so my husband was basically raised in a chaotic situation. Any way, my husband believes that he doesn't have to do any work around the house at all. For instance, rather than washing clothes, he'll stand and yell about us not having any socks. Then when I say "Well why didn't you wash any?" He says that I'm blowing things out of proportion. We have the same stupid arguments constantly about him helping around the house. He doesn't work full time, he just completed college and works only part time. I'm physically disabled after an accident that causes me to now be in a wheel chair full time and so I'm unable to do many of the tasks required. If he brings me laundry, I can fold it but I can't do as much as he can do. I don't hate him, I just hate that he's turned into someone I don't even know any more. |

My mom says I should file an order of protection for the kids, file for child support then file for divorce. He's acting so shady I'm starting to agree. He started recording our phone calls, and keeps telling me he wants full custody of our daughter. I want her to see her dad but she needs me, I'm her mom...is it the right move to file an order of protection? Will a lawyer be able to help me with this settlement issue? I took them to the doctor while my husband was at work. They are 7 and 1. I was so tired after waiting for 4 hours to be seen and I came home thinking my husband could go and get their prescriptions. He is a postal carrier and was already home for at least an hour before I got home. I called him when i arrived, as he was not there. He answered sounding annoyed and said he was not coming home and that he was drunk . I totally lost it and told him how he could think of going out when both our daughters were sick and I needed help. I did not want to take them anywhere since they needed to rest. He told me he would be home in an hour. Well the hours passed and I had to go get the prescriptions since the pharmacy was going to close. I had to take my poor girls down at Walmart and I felt so disgusted with my husband for being selfish. And he never helps me with them. Ever. I understand he has a job but he gets 2 days off and is usually home everyday before 3. Am I overreacting or was his behavior wrong? He has been on and off of his meds about 4 times since I have known him, 12 years. This last time he was off his meds for about 5 months. I would assume and I have been told that when some people go off their meds it is because they have leveled out and no longer believe that they need the meds to maintain some kind of stability. But me husband says that he doesn't want to take them because he thinks that they will kill him faster. Her also likes who he is when he is not on the meds. He does not go through the typical depression as we know it. He is a hoarder. He collects and stores things at home. Like left over construction material or things that he finds on the street. He also has a stimulation dependency on the games that he downloads on his IPAD like soda and candy crush. He will lay in bed for hours and play until he falls asleep from exhaustion. Last week his Bipolar mania escalated to the point of violence. He snatched food out of our daughters hands and threw it across the room. He yells at our kids and calls them retarded with mental issues. He calls them nasty pigs. He tells them that I pick on him because I'm a miserable *****. He told our 10 year old that "Mom has issues because she was raped by her step dad". He swung a broom stick and shattered the glass oven door. He thinks that I under mind his authority when I get involved when he starts in on the kids. Last week he punched me. Closed fist. After he broke the oven door I called the police to have him removed from the home. He fled before they got there. He was gone for a couple hours but when he returned to the home he had not calmed down. The kids had gone to bed so the only person he had to pick on was me. After he hit me I called 911 again. He fled the house again. The next morning I was downtown applying for ex parte and injunction. But the only way He will ever be healthy is if he is taking his meds. |

He cut ties with her, but recently started talking to her again. I gave him one last chance to stop talking to her, and he blew it. Now I have told him that I want a divorce, and he is trying his best to convince me he'll change and will be the man I need him to be. I have zero faith in him at this point and just want the divorce so I can move forward with my life. But, he's really tugging at my heart strings and I'm trying my best to resist. Posted: 31 Aug 2016 09:57 AM PDT I recently posted a question about by wife's decision to purchase another car to replace the one she had that was paid for. The car she bought, against my wishes and advise, was in worst condition than what she had. Well, in the 2 weeks since she's had it she's only driven it to work maybe 3 days. Why? Because it's been back at the car lot for them to fix this or that on it. this week alone it's been with them trying to figure out why it hesitates to start. Yes, she bought it even though it had trouble cranking. So, I've been having to take her to work. I like to get to work early to begin my day but this week I've been dropping her off then racing to my job arriving much later than I like. My wife works 16 miles north of our house and I work 15 miles south of our house. So, I have a 32 mile round trip just to get me back to my starting point so I can now get to work. That on top of having to drive an additional 15 miles to my job. My wife has been getting rides home from work from an ex-co-worker from her old job who is stopping by her new job and picking her up and bringing her home. Her car now needs a new fuel pump and the car lot said that instead of letting the dealership do the work they'd do it and save some money. I told my wife that (A) she shouldn't have bought that POS and (B) I'm tired of using more gas to get her to work everyday. She thinks that since she made the decision to buy the car that me, as her husband, should just support her decision and get her to work everyday until her car is fixed. Again, she's only driven it to work maybe 3 days since she got it cause it's been back at the car lot for them to fix this or that. She's not paying for these repairs, yet, but I would have had them fix all this stuff before she signed the paperwork. She wouldn't listen. She was in such a rush to get out of her old car until she dropped the insurance on it several days before she even signed the final papers for the new car. The new car is actually a year older than the car she had. Yes, she went backwards, again, against my advice. How long do you do for your spouse before you tell them enough is enough? I hate doing all this extra driving and getting to work later than I'd like plus she's now taxing someone else to get her home everyday. I possibly wouldn't be making so much out of this if her job was in the same direction as mine or just a few miles out of the way. It's not. 16 miles in the opposite direction is a bit out of the way for me considering I told her not to buy that car. |

Haven't talked to him in FOREVER because I was in a bad relationshiip with my ex and that is a story all on it's own so I am now single and am regaining my life and my guy friend and I have started talking again and have been flirting and yes we had sex as well but he wants to be friends because after what I went through he wants me to have the time I need to myself which I honestly respect and don't want to push the matter but I'm afraid of seeing him with someone else because I really really like him and we have several of the same interests etc. so we've been texting and just being friends and I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can make this work? I want to just be myself and invite him over and hang out with him but will that be enough? I went from broke to doing ok and she had to move out of her parents house so instead of getting an apartment I asked her to move in. Then almost a year ago we got engaged and wedding is in October. I asked if she could pay me biweekly for bills and the mortgage and while I get paid a lot more then her I gave her a beyond fair deal. I'm paying well over half of the bills when I add it up. Then she got a raise and as bills have got bigger and we got cable tv I asked if she could pay a little more...like $30 more biweekly and she agreed. Now she asked last night if we can just get rid of our separate checking accounts and just have a joint. I said hellll no! I like to keep some of my money and I didn't say I don't trust you but she has a history of bad credit and spends on stupid things like a pair of shoes and boots all the time. How many damn pairs of shoes you need? I take her out and good to her and spend much on her. I don't like the idea of her in my money as she will know everything I spend unless I just withdraw a bunch of cash every paycheck and hell with that. |

Posted: 31 Aug 2016 06:22 AM PDT Is this considered "enabling" my spouse who think he's doing his part working 35 hours a week at a mediocre pay. He doesn't do "extra" around the house to make up for all the overtime I work either. he thinks his "full time" job should be enough. I work 55 hours and he works 35.. so I'm working 20 extra every week and have been doing this for 5 years now. We have a family of 6. (blended family.. he had three kids from a previous marriage and I had one) I want to keep us ahead of the game, have some money in savings. So I always work hard and advance. i want him to do the same. Am I enabling him since I keep working harder and harder? Basically I don't know what the alternative would be to stop enabling him. If I keep advancing so I don't have to work so much overtime, didn't I once again enable him? thanks for everyone's input. The reason this is a problem is becaue I'm feeling depressed and at my wit's end working so much and taking care of the kids and household. I wanted to add that he works third shift and is basically not "available" to help with any of the kids needs. he doesn't get up until 7-8 pm when all of the kids needs, dinner, errands, etc have already passed by. It's true he doesn't have room for extra hours at his job. Over the years the cost of living has just changed between changes in custody amounts, (we also used to receive health insurance thorugh the state at the beginning of the relationship and a small amunt of food stamps) I worked hard to get off state assistance.. but the cost of health insurance and food every month paying out of pocket has not exceeded our yearly raises/promotions. ( we were better off on state assistance is what i'm saying) |

My wife and I have been married for only a year, however we ve been together for 9 years. I m 26 and she s 23. We have both had sexual partners before the relationship but we were young. Moving on. A couple months ago my wife started acting different. Not all the time but noticeable. I m assuming I was noticing this because we have been together so long and I can easily pick up on when something is off. Well fast forward to a few days ago. So I brought it to her attention by acting like Verizon sent us a big packet with all the records and then after basically asking her to tell me the truth 20 times she said that she had a crush on this guy. But they have stopped talking because he is married with three kids and he suggested that they stop getting so close. (which bothers me that HE said this and not HER) So where we are at right now is that she doesn t know what she wants. She says she loves me, that she doesn t call this guy anymore, and I told her that I would give her some time to figure out if she wants to stay with me or if she wants out.
