My best friend is 18, she drives with her license. I'm the complete opposite of her, I'm 17, don't drive yet. This is just honesty from me but I have lots of things she doesn't really have. She lives in her grandma but in the small room outside with her mom paying off rent and food. So, sometimes she doesnt got money so when we hang out, I always have to put money but she never really done that for me. My parents spend money on us with food as well but not her mom. Her mom has never ever bought me food (not expecting her to but whenever i go over, theres no food) Lately, she thinks shes so much better than me... its annoying me. I have a female friend who I feel I have a one sided friendship with. Let me start off by saying I have known her for about a year, and she has told me a LOT about herself, and more personal things than other people (at least from what I can gather). However, I seem to be the one who initiates conversation with her, asking her to hangout, and so on. Sometimes, she blatantly ignores me, or gives me annoyed/simple responses. However, then she'll text me, asking for help or something, and she is suddenly available and can text back within seconds. I have asked her to hangout but she is always "busy", doing something, and never offers to do something another time. Then, there are times she just decides she wants to talk to me all day, and times when she says I'm the best guy in the world, but those times are fractional to the rest (but its also those times that keep me being her friend). I have gone out of my way to help her, and do things for her, but it seems like a waste of a friendship, if I am the only person being the friend. Any thoughts?

Hi! I'm a 15 year-old guy, and this one friend and I go way back. Way back, as in my friend is one day older than me, and we were born in the same hospital. We've known each other our entire lives, but recently he's become a little mean. He often lies to my parents about me to get me in trouble. Especially when it comes to things that are his fault. This one time, I almost got in serious trouble with my dad. My friend and I were at a snow tubing park this Winter, and we ended up getting separated. You see, I had to tie my boot, and he went and gone with out me on one of the rides. I wasn't hurt by it, because I could just catch up. He ended up going down and telling my dad I ditched him. My dad was furious, and he canceled the rest of our time there. When we got home, my dad literally interrogated me. If it weren't for my mom, he probably would've kicked my ***. It was like an Alex Jones debate, I couldn't get a word through while my dad yelled at me. My mom made my dad hear my side eventually, and I was so lucky my mom was there to pardon me from being grounded. This is just one of many occasions my friend lies to get me in trouble. What do you think? Should I break off the friendship?

So I had a falling out with my entire friend group. They all decided to all tell me they don't like me except one, but then again, they still invited me to watch a movie with them... Or my friend did. So we watched a movie, they made loads of jokes and we had fun. And they were nice to me. Then they basically kicked me out and told me to F off a day later. Then we had a reunion were they invited me. They planned some tricks on me like they saw in the scary movie. Like a haunted house kinda thingy. So... They take the time to scare me but they don't like me? And watch a movie with me? I don't buy it. I'm still out but I could have never expected all this. Being kicked out of your group for no reason other than"most of us don't like you" which might not even be true. I've managed to keep the one friend who seems to be avoiding me, and I haven't seen since. I mean at this point I just don't get it anymore and if I ask them they either find a way to hurt me more or just don't give info. There's no way I'll move on from this. If I don't end up back in Ill probably create some huge scheme to manipulate, befriend and when the moment is right have their friends turn on them or some physiological mindf**k. I just need a new perspective on this. Why would they have fun with me and watch a movie with me and prank me if they truly didn't like me and wanted to get rid of me?

My friend made plans with other co-workers for a night out and she(my friend) invited me last minute( like 30 minutes before leaving). The worst part is that 10 minutes before they left I had to find out that they weren't anymore sits... she didn't even tell me before hand. Long story short: My friend pushed me into the pool while i have iphone($950), and in-ear monitors($1800), and wallet(which isn't damaged, since it's just a wallet) in my pocket. He didn't do it with bad intention, he pushed me into the pool cuz he wanted me to have a good time, since i am too worried about my job interview. And he didn't know i have those things in my pocket when he pushed me.

I see it sometimes where people who are older hate on younger people. They're all just kids, right? Our school systems where I am in Canada are elementary schools (K-7th grade) and high schools (8th-12th grade). The grade 7 students think they rule the school or something because they're the oldest, I'm 14 and I will be in grade 9 when school starts in 1-2 weeks (I ended school in late June and will start in September). Last school year, older people called us "little grade 8's", "little kids", or "babies" because we were the youngest at the school. They should ignore all the younger grades if they think they're annoying instead of coming up to them just to make fun of them. Back in 2nd grade, I remember that a group of 7th graders would follow me around and try to hang around me. I made it obvious that I didn't want to be with them because they were bullies but they didn't seem to read my body language and I was very quiet when I was 7 (I have Asperger's Syndrome but it's not noticeable, I had to be taken multiple times to the doctor to get diagnosed and I heard that autistic girls are more shy). I wasn't ever a bully to anyone. I mean my best friend is now 19 and we have a great friendship, we've been friends for three years now and I met her when she was in 11th grade and she didn't hate or make fun of me. Now that all of us are going to our second year of high school, kids are now like, "I hate the little grade 8s" on social media.

I just moved after being in the same town my whole life. I used to, at my old high school be in the uber-popular group with all the coolest people as my friends, I was cool. Now I m a Junior at a new school across the country, and I can t get anyone to talk to me, and those who do are (no offense) nerds or douches that I m not gonna waste my time on, don t get me wrong I act nice to them, but not nice enough that they think I m gonna be their new best friend. I ve tried to talk to people who I think I would like but no one will really say anything back, or when a conversation does start they end it abruptly. I ve had to sit alone at lunch and its the first time ever, and it just feels terrible. All the tables in my grade have already made friend groups and as a transfer junior it s hard to get into those, not like when I was a freshman and anyone would sit with me since we were all new then. I just am trying to figure out how I can make new friends and why no one will be friendly to me.

I mean uh, he says he's my friend and we were friends for so long. I'm going to start a new university in the fall and I don't just want to make acquaintances but maybe life long friends. I think my problem is, ill be nice and stuff but just whenever i see them in class or something, but then don't go past it into becoming friends and just stay as aquientances. And how do I make classmates, more than classmates and into friends to go out and have fun with? I think it might be because I've been burned by quite a few "friends", and I just stop at aquientances... maybe I need to pick better friends? How to do that?

I'm a foreigner and I only have 2 friends in my entire school. I'm nice and friendly to everyone and never leave anyone in trouble. I don't judge people and accept everyone for who they are. I don't have a good sense of humor but I talk deep with my friends. I don't have any anxiety or shyness I'm not afraid to approach other people. I'm always the first one to offer support to my friends and cheer them on. I like helping other people. My appearance is not the issue because I've been invited to become a supermodel and people tell me I'm gorgeous all the time. I'm not your typical teenager because I don't go to night clubs and I don't care about popularity. I don't stoop low to become popular. I'm a bright student and I like to study. All of my friends are from higher classes because I don't have anything in common with them. School is really hard for me when we have to work in pairs, nobody wants to pair up with me and my class don't want to be friends with me for unknown reasons. I get along really well with the teachers and have no problem discussing my issues with them. Strangers have told me that it might be because those other people are jealous. They have treated me horribly by making fun of my country and being racist to me. They always hurt me and take things to far and then complain that I can't take a joke. I sit alone in most classes. I've tried becoming friends with my class and people in my school but they won't accept me for who I am. It's true I don't talk about boys or have boyfriends. I do have a very close best friend who promised to wait for me back home in my country. People always spread rumors about me and make fun of me just because I'm not intereted in talking about guys and because I don't like to go to parties and night clubs.. ): I don't want to ruin my life like the other people I know. Also I don't like night clubs and parties.... why can't they just accept me for who I am? I'm asexual and sometimes people make fun of my sexuality. I graduated in 2013, and I only talk to those few, we try and get together every so often when we have time but times are tuff. Is it normal to not have a lot of your old high school friends? I make acquaintance in college but nothing more than that.

My 19 year old friend thinks its no big deal being popular. I'm a 14 year old girl who wants to be part of the popular squad but my bestie doesn't think that popular is all that big of a deal. It s my freshman year, and i have friends, but most of them have friends better than me. I only have lunch with one of my friends that i know of so far, and unless they have no one else to sit with, i know they won t sit with me. I don t have many friends anymore, but almost everyone in my grade knows me at this point, so it makes it hard to make more friends. Everyone already has an opinion of me. I really don t think i can sit alone in the cafeteria, i m really scared i m going to end up in the bathroom. Any tips?

My friend came from out of town about 3 times this year. She recently came again, and my other friend wants me to hang out with them. I've seen her those 3 times already. And by loser, I mean she loses things. I was making a play on words for a joke. But seriously, she had a baby about a year ago and it started with her pregnancy. In less than two years, she's lost three wallets and a whole bunch of other stuff. She doesn't just lose stuff, she forgets stuff. She lost the keys 'while sitting in the car seat' and called me on my cell to help her. She did NOT get out of the seat and yet, I found them in the trunk. This is new, she wasn't always so scatterbrained.

Every time in social situations even if it's just like 3 people. I have a hard time stepping up and talking feeling I will be judges so wuickiy about anything I say or do. It turns into ackward situations and I need to be able to just open up and freely express myself but I think about what I should or shouldn't say and then never end up saying anything. I know it's weird, I never use to be like this and was always talking to everybody, super social and talkative. I had a group of friends, whom I thought as cool intresting and fun. I always had an uneasy feeling I didn't belong but I didn't listen to that feeling because I didn't have a whole lot of friends and finally I was part of some kind of group. It was fun while it lasted, but before I knew it everyone turned on me, told me they didn't like me and kicked me out. All but one good friend of mine. Now it's still confusing and the more I probe for information. The more I ask questions to people I thought were my true friends, the more I get hurt. I want to know how in the world this happened but I believe that won't be good for me. It's been a few weeks since then and I still haven't accepted it. I have one friend though who still and always was the core and founder of the group. I'm finding it hard to hang out with him since I'm no longer part of the group. I will befriend all her attractive friends, I will swim my way back into her life and I will stab her when she least expects it. Just like she did to me. She still laughs about what she did. I'm 29 and I met this older man online in 2014 he's 42 he and I met in person for the first time last year. He and I were intimate then. We both live in different states he lives in California and I live in Ohio last week I went back to see him. But I told him that I wasn't in a position to be in a serious relationship right now either. I told him that I love spending time with him and he said he does too. Why would he say he does if it isn't true?

I have chemistry class. I started Tuesday and I have lecture first and then we got out of lecture early. So I went to the bookstore and I came to lab when there were 15 minutes left til it started and when I walked in all seats were taken except one so I sat there. We worked on a worksheet that day and my partner didn't know anything and didn't really care. This is college btw. So today for lab I sat somewhere different but he followed me and today he forgot his lab manual and didn't have anything so I gave him paper and I did everything since he didn't know anything and we were the last group still left and it was just all bad. I want a different group or partner. I have a few numbers and names people wrote on my notebook on Tuesday in case I ever need help or missed class then they can tell me. Should I text one of them? My next class isn't until Tuesday so should I wait to text them on Monday?

Currently, I'm on vacation but I have this "friend" who texts me EVERY SINGLE DAY to update me on everything she's doing and asking me when I'm coming back. All my life I never really had any close, true friends, or anyone that I identified as a 'friend' at all. There were just people that I talked to that came and went. No meaningful relationships. I was never really able to connect with anyone. I physically, mentally, practically, basically, technically, metaphorically,literally, virtually, absolutely have no social life whatsoever. Everyday I walk through the halls, not talking to anyone, minding my own business, a leaf in the wind. Other people were all the same- they are the immature, stupid, kids that try to be funny and get attention to seek the validation of people. I couldn't be friends with anyone, they were all too one-minded in that sense, just basic f-boys. Now I'm in my junior year of high school. I switched schools last year to try and fix my problem, but still yielded the same result. Everywhere you go, there's always people you can't really connect with. Honestly I'm losing a grip on my life. Whether I even had a grip on my life in the first place is debatable. I know that I need some friends for support and help. But I'm just a drifter. I went over to hang out with my buddy John at his house. He was not home from school yet so I talked to his mom for a while. She had cooked us both many meals and she was a great cook and had a wonderful personality. It was fun just being around her. I felt VERY uncomfortable talking to his mother about sex so I changed the subject. Should I tell John his mother knows what he does with his dvds? Should she have told me stuff like this?

A friend Linda who works in the same large office building as I do ask if I could drive her home as her car would not start. At her home, we were met by her daughter Cindy who I had met previously. Linda ask me to stay for a dinner she would cook for me. As Linda was cooking dinner Cindy ask me if I would help her with her homework which I did. After we finished her homework, Cindy ask me if I thought her mom was cute. I told the truth, her mom was cute. Then Cindy ask me if there were guys that would want to date her mom. I told her with her mom's great beauty, yes there were lots of guys that would want to date her. That is as far as I wanted to take this conversation. However Cindy wanted to go farther. She said she wanted a dad and asked me to encourage her mom to start dating. I told her this was a conversation she should be having with her mom not me. Even though I was her mom's friend, the subject of her mom dating is none of my business. Cindy told me she would be the happiest girl in the world to call me dad. Would I ask her mom for a date? I told her that her mom was 10 years older than I was and probably would want to date someone her age. I again urged Cindy to talk to her mom about this. Mothers (and others) did I handle this situation correctly and should I tell Linda about this conversation.

I work in an office with 8 other women. Our boss is 27 year old single guy. He is the best boss ever. We just love working for him. It is a pleasure to come to work each day. He called us into his office and gave us all an envelope that contained $7000. He told us it was our bonus for the great work we did for him this year. He said "I wish it could be bigger'. One of my co workers said "I say the same thing to my boyfriend all the time". We all, including our boss, had a great laugh at her remark. However some of our fellow employees heard about this when we were talking about it in the employee break room and said we were sexual harassing our boss. Were we? We think our fellow employees are just jealous of our great relationship with our boss and of our bonus. What would you think about getting a $7000 bonus from where you work? Would you think you had a great boss? If we were sexual harassing him, wouldn't he fire us?

Needs someone's unbiased opinon, 7 years ago i lost a best friend over a mistake that I made, her and this other girl had stopped being friends after being friends since childhood years over a stupid fight, shortly after one of the girls starts messing around with a guy whom the other girl which was my close friend as well. I accidently told the other girl that was messing around with the guy that my friend had messed around with him in the past. The girl who messed with him in the past who was my close friend immediately cut me off , she even got her boyfriend then not to talk to me. The other girl was upset with me as well. Months after I decided to reach out to her to apologize and all she did was curse me out. it's 7 years now but I am just curious what others think need an opinion.
