Okwy, here's what's up. I'm 13, and my parents have much higher expectations for me than my brother. They don't care at all what grade my brother gets. Their excuse is that he has learning disabilities. With me, they expect straight A's. They literally grounded me for getting one B. I never did anything to make them believe I'm a genius. Still,they are completely ruining my life. They signed me up for so much stuff I don't want to do, like violin lessons, kumon (extra homework), chess lessons etc. They also won't let me watch TV, an they force me to play basketball, which I absolutely hate. They buy me a lot of stuff, but it's a tactic: they buy me the stuff, and then take it away whenever I do something "wrong." I know what you're thinking. Once I'm 18, I'm out. I tried reasoning with them using that, but apparently, they have a plan for that too. They won't let me get a job, so when I go to college, (they say I have to go to Harvard) i'll have to depend on them to pay the tuition, and they want me to become a doctor, so they'll make me major in medicine. If i do anything they don't want me to do, they'll just stop paying, and I'll have to take massive amounts of student loans. (My parents make too much for a scholarship). If i major in medicine, I'll have to either become a doctor, or go back to college, this time on my own. So,i would have to do this,or go to college and take massive loans. So, my parents have huge expectations and are controlling me. What should I do?

I'm 16 and cannot WAIT any longer for may 2018, my 18th birthday. I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa not too long ago and because of that i am forced to eat 3 high calorie meals and 3 snacks each day including 2 ensure pluses. I wanna vomit my guts and throw away all my food but i can't because everyone is breathing down my neck. I can't even sleep by myself because they are afraid i may kill myself. My family is a very religious Christian family. My 2 children, 17 year old Ian and 14 year old Eva. They are to dress modestly. They aren't allowed to have phones. Ian isn't allowed to wear jeans or T shirts. He wears polos, dress shirts, khakis and dress shoes. He is not permitted to wear jewelry or style his hair. Eva cannot Wer pants at all. She is to wear skirts or dresses at all times. My husband lost his job, so we now send our kids to public school. Ian made an "interesting" friend, Cal. I knew that I couldn't trust him, because he is an atheist, he dresses sinfully (jewelry, tattoos). I believe he is trying to make my son an atheist as well. My daughter is now reading Harry Potter, which is satanic. I then caught them sneaking out to a party! Ian was wearing a leather jacket, JEANS and had his hair style up. Eva was wearing JEANS too, and a T SHIRT! I went through their computer, and I found music from satanic bands like Fall out Boy, Green Day, and Three Day Grace. The city it is in is 4 hours away and we will be staying at a good friend of mine house in town. My little sister was watching a scary show on tv. She said it's not made up its real it had real people talking about real stories. She said there was a girl who moved into a house she found out a murder happened before she moved in. She said that the girl who lived there before her had a fight with her current boyfriend and ex boyfriend and her ex came back that night and burned them in their bedroom he just stood by and listened to them screaming to make sure they couldn't get out. Then his ghost came back to haunt the girl who was currently lived there. She's afraid of that happening to her. She's always been afraid of a fire while she's sleeping. We live in a four bedroom trailer if there's ever a fire she might not be able to escape. She can't open the bedroom window herself. Her bedroom window is like 5 or 10 ft off the ground. I get so mad for any little thing. Today I got mad because my little brother ate all the cereal that I barely bought yesterday and I was planning to eat for breakfast. Yesterday I got mad because I asked him to clean the mess e made in the living room and he refused. i made the mistake of transferring closer to home this semester of college and am having to live with my mother. being in the position makes me fear for my mental health and relationships with other people. my first year of college she took the car i received from her and another family member for graduation away my second semester (which played a huge roll in many issues i had that semester).. she has now taken my car away again unless it's for school or work due to there being trash in my car. i have tried everything i can to get away from her but she won't allow that due to her paying for my car insurance. i have taken so many insults about how me being bad/pathetic/stupid, etc.. i have been slapped, drug down the hallway, punched, and drug out of my bed by the arms whilst sleeping i have been kicked out for absolutely no reason and then given an ultimatum of having no car (which i need to attend school, i can walk to work).. i understand that she is my parent. but i am quite mature for my age (lived on my own for a year at my previous school, have had a job since i was sixteen and paid for everything of mine, but now that i was given a new model car i can't afford the insurance). i am helpless. i have nobody except my boyfriend that i can rely on, and she really really hates him (she has met him once and we have been dating over a year).. i am scared. someone please give me some advice / hopeful comfort.

I know it's not good to dwell on the past but just curious. My father pretty much let me explore everything, and "try my best" essentially. Good grades weren't important and when I wanted to skip basketball practice (and ultimately quit) he let me. He is an amazing father, I love him so much, but he just let me 'live my life' essentially. When I look at kids who ended up attending Ivy League schools, become elite at sport, or get to the Oscar red carpet a lot of them seemed to have parents that really pushed them to be great. They didn't let them quit gymnastics, made them study after school, refused to see anything but straight A's etc. I know a lot of people are self motivated, but a good amount had parents that PUSHED them to succeed. I wonder what I would have achieved had I had parents like that. Do you? I had a great childhood but in some ways I want to raise my children so that they always strive for the best and won't accept being "average"..

I was visiting my husband's mother and I ask her to see his baby pictures. She gave me her family picture album to look at. In it was pictures of her being crowned Miss YYY (the name of our state) 23 years ago. Was she ever beautiful them as she is now. She had never told me about this and neither had my husband. None of her friends know about it either. It was quite an honor so I asked my husband why she never told anyone about it. What is the point of living? My mom and dad were always working. I was raised by my grandparents and my mom buys me stuff and thinks that will make up for the years of my childhood without her. I'm 19 and I'm trying everything to move out. I keep trying to save up money but I also pay my own bills while I'm here and pay for my own food, and I have bad health problems and can't do long hours at work. My mom drives me absolutely insane, and not like a normal one. She's verbally abusive and just overall insane. She puts me down daily and she keeps the house like a pigsty. I needed a letter written by her for college (which she's not putting any money toward) and get it notarized, and she locked herself in the car because she didn't want to wait 30 mins and when I needed my charger she wouldn't let me in the car and beeped the horn in front of the bank. I also tried to go out with my girlfriend once because I couldn't take being there anymore and she ran out into the street and almost hit her and then when we tried to lock ourselves in my (now ex) girlfriends car, she threw herself on top of her car and someone called the cops. She is absolutely insane and it's taking a toll on me. I need the money to get a car and move out but that's so hard to do when I have the health issues I do and I actually provide for myself already completely. I have a credit score of 750 and 2,000 in savings, maybe I can do something with that. Is there something I can do to make this process faster, I can't take this anymore. I'm starting college this month and I can't even focus or have peace here. She's so insane the whole neighborhood knows it. They all see the things she does and it's so embarrassing because I try everything to avoid drama and I'm not that kind of person. All the neighbors talk about her. I seriously feel like I'm going to lose it dealing with this. I have no other family. My father is an alcoholic and does drugs. I have nobody else I have a job..... I'm in a pickle where I live with a parent for financial reasons on my end and after mom left he's been lonely and I've basically became his best friend. It's been a good living situation, I pay rent, buy food, sometimes help out with the smaller bills so that he can focus on the bigger ones as he makes more than I do. However, he's getting remarried and I'm not happy. One, I don't like her. I'm uncomfortable around her. I also don't like change. I have Asperger's syndrome and he's changing too much so that she and her 14 year old son can live with us. - I have cats and both of them are allergic, so they have to live in my room. - The boy is a pig, spoiled brat, throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way and doesn't follow the rules. - I have to move my female stuff out of the bathroom because the boy will get into them. I have medication that I have to keep out of his reach bc he WILL get into them. - Our furniture is being replaced to make room for hers. Too much change and I hate it. I can't live with someone I don't like and I won't suffer in silence, not even for him. He says that he doesn't this to change us. He says that I'm important him, that the past years meant so much to him and wants me to be okay with it. I accept that he wants to marry her but I don't want to live in the same house. How do I tell him that I want to move out without breaking his heart?

I'm 15 and I went on my very first date last month. I was drugged but at the time I thought it was just because I was sick and he told me he would take me home but he didn't and he took me to another persons house and all I know is that there could had been two guys involved. I was taken to a doctors appointment last week for the new school year and I told the nurse what had happened. She let me do a test and it came back positive. I didn't want my mom to know and that's why I did it at the doctors. They convinced me to tell my mom, now my mom knew I had been raped so it wasn't a surprise when I told her I was pregnant. She began to cry and hugged me tightly and promised that we would get through it all. This doctors office is located in a hospital so we were move to another room so we could see if the baby was affecting my health due to my age. I had a free sonogram done and they say I'm about 6 weeks. I told the doctor I wanted an abortion and my mom began to get upset. "Kierra, the baby shouldn't pay for the crime." Is all she kept saying. It was annoying. I left the office and called my dad. He said he would take me to the clinic to get an abortion but I have to wait until the end of this month because that's when I see him. I'm from Connecticut and he's from New Jersey. I got into a relationship with a man who has 4 children. From previous marriage as well. Since we aren't living together his parents are helping take care of the children while he works full time. My boyfriend and I have an agreement that when I'm done with my degree I will be moving in with him and the children. But that's not for another year. His parents don't understand that. They think I need to be there full time and basically put my goals on the back burner for these children. Don't get me wrong I love the children and help where I can and when I can. I help financially as well. But it just seems it's not enough for the parents of my boyfriend. Mind you they decided to take on the role of grandparents and help out because they never got to see their grandchildren. I just need some guidance on if I should stay or I should just live my life without feeling like I need to give up my goals because the grandparents told the court, my boyfriend and I that they are more than willing to help but now they don't.

My mom is unemployed and lives with her kid and boyfriend in a small one bedroom apt and my dad and stepmom kicked me out and told me to never come back, I'm 17 and currently at my aunts but will have to move into my moms kitchen area. A family friend has offered me a room at their house and a car and says they'll take me in, would my parents just have to agree or what legal actions have to be taken?

Hey listen all I'm 35 and aijt getting younger. I'm getting older and not getting better lol. Have a job and an education and have my hobbies and love to workout but something's missing. A void that's.never been filled. I don't know how to make an introduction to a girl I like. Still into women 18-20something. Not hating on women my age. Just is what it is. I'm from Florida, but my family moved to North Carolina when I was in high school. I knew right off the bat that it was the wrong place for me but I sensed strongly that my family expected me to embrace this area as "home" and to come to cherish it. I'm an adult now and I've had two careers, and I hate it more than ever and want out. I studied abroad in a foreign country and then taught English in Mexico, and I felt like my life began. That was when all my relatives (aunts, dad, etc.) made me feel bad for wanting a life for myself but I ignored them when they said to come "home." My father (who left us when I was a teen) guilted me into coming back because "it's stressing your mom out for you to be down there and it's going to ruin her health." I felt overcome with guilt and came back but now I wish I hadn't. The town I live in is a nightmare and I am depressed. I would like to go to another state or another country (preferably another country). I am from a coastal town and miss the beaches, and I have a lot of dreams that I can't fulfill because High Point doesn't offer those opportunities. Relatives expect me to have the warm fuzzies about High Point and embrace it as home but I wish it would just fall off the map. In spite of all this I feel guilty about hurting my mom, but ever since coming back I've felt like I don't have a life anymore. This town offers me nothing. Am I a terrible person?

I need your advice you guys. I've never had a problem with ANY guy I've dateds Mother until this one. The one I ended up getting engaged too and the only part of his family that I don't have a problem with because they don't have one with me is his dad because he and his mom are seperated. His Mom and sisters have done nothing but bad mouth me since day 1! And he's a mamas boy so everytime shes even said anything about me, he's left and then had to come back because of everyone telling him his mom doesn't control his decisions. All she does is constantly bad mouth me and our engagement and so do his sisters. I've prayed for the lord to help me but oh my lord I need help. I cannot stand this woman. I'm just completely fed up with sitting around and letting someone talk crap about me and not being able to take up for myself.... my half brothers wife calls it the "monster in law" we all have to deal with. but i wish my fiancee at least wasn't like a little puppy to his mom and does every little thing she pleases.

Every time she has to go to work (usually every other day she just started a new job) In the morning before she gets ready she always throws up. She doesn't eat anything in the morning because she says she can't eat in the morning. She smokes and drinks, would that be a cause? I am 22 and a senior in university. My parents are very negative and miserable that they cannot handle the fact that their little girls are grown adults. When I told my mom that I am moving out within the next year, she went crazy on me and started to cry. To add on to this, I've been in a strong relationship for 5 years. My sister also met a guy a few months ago. My parents look for ways and reasons of why we should break up with them. My dad says I should break up with my boyfriend because he is Spanish, not American born. My sister is dating a White guy which my dad likes but this White guy is not good enough because he had a beard and drives an old fashioned car. These are just silly exuses because my dad does not have one friend and he complains about everything and everyone. I am afraid that because my parents are not happy, they want to bring me down to that level of misery. But I refuse to let this happen and I am willing to move out as soon as my boyfriend and I find a place. But the main question is, how can I just move out without explaining and telling them? There is no negotiating or normal conversation with them because they may start screaming and yelling. They may look for ways to hurt or torture me.

I am on the verge of hating my mom. Shes a fat, lazy, manipulative bully. Over the years she s gained so much weight she is every bit of 350 pounds. She blames it on all of her "illnesses" only one of which she has provided an actual diagnosis from a doctor for The only illness my father and I know she has for sure is Hodgkins Lymphoma. But hers is the most mildly aggressive form out there, and shes never even had chemo or radiation. She takes medication every so often.Yet shes always lying about what the doctorsays making her condition far worse. Always coming up with new illnesses for sympathy. My dad and I know shes lying bc she s on his insurance and he calls to verify she went to her appointments and she never shows up. In addition to being a liar she eats fast food almost every meal. We could just eat dinner and she ll go out and get more food and hide the evidence in her purse or car like we re dumb. Just last night I wasnt hungry so I didn t eat and she kept pestering me, saying shed go grab me something. But obviously this was a just a way for her to eat after dinner. She ended up saying her friend was sick and she was going to bring her some food. I caught her sneaking back in the house with a KFC box and she said she was "cleaning out her car".Lastly, she is always calling me out my name, usually a *****, has said countless times she shouldve aborted me and overall is just a bully. Its so bad my dad and I have a mutual bond over not wanting to be around her. Help??
