The cost of living here is unreasonably high, and there are a lot of people, including myself and my husband, who are low income and are struggling to make ends meet (although we both have a college degree). I know many other low income people, many of who can't drive because driving requirements are so strict in Maryland, and most if not all of them were in a relationship or were married and are now divorced, or are otherwise no longer together. The only people that I really know around here that are in a good and happy relationship are women whose husbands have a good job and who may or may not have several children. I feel like these women just happened to find a guy with a good job who could drive, so they are able to spend money and have children with no financial worries. I feel like that is the only reason why their relationships are as good as they are. As for me, my husband has never made a lot of money, not even when I met him, and in fact we got married at the courthouse. But I don't complain or have any expectations, and I don't if we can't do certain things because we don't have money. I feel like this is the reason why we have been together for going on 4 years, but it seems like most women are not like me, like they would complain if they couldn't spend money or couldn't have children or go on vacations or out to eat. So I guess my question is, why does it seem like on average, only couples that have a lot of money or who are not struggling stay married anymore? It seems like anyone else usually ends up having problems due to issues with money, and might not stay together or might get divorced. At least that seems to be the trend around here. I would just like to know why this is. |

I was lucky to meet my wife who I would take a bullet for but most women these days want to date a guy who has a cool car and a ton of Instagram followers and is vain and narcissistic and doesn't have any real moral values or is not a real man who loves unconditionally |

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:19 PM PDT I moved out of my boyfriends house 2 months ago & decided to break up with him because we fought & argued so much it started to get extremely toxic. Because I'm pregnant with his child, we decided to still talk & take things slow to work on our relationship. I've been really sick & hormonal with this pregnancy, it's been so bad that I couldn't leave the house & had to take disability leave from work, so I haven't physically seen him but we talked on the phone every day. From living with him to being away, we went from arguing every day to arguing every week. I don't feel like our relationship has gotten any better, especially because of the resentment we both have & constant arguments. Now instead of talking every day, all he does is text me in the morning saying "hope your day goes well" & that's it for the entire day. I feel like he's distancing himself & he's giving up on trying to make our relationship better... I know that no matter what he's going to take the responsibility as a father & support our child, but I'm afraid that he's going to do something reckless that's going to cause more resent & only make our relationship worse & unfixable |

My fiance hasn't been in contact with her since other than about her getting rid of the baby. Now lately it seems that he is looking forward to keeping the baby and maybe a little excited... I am not looking forward to this at all, I know I decided to stay with him after all this but I am starting to feel some type of way about him starting to look forward to this. At first he wanted her to get an abortion and wanted nothing to do with her. I am nervous that when the baby comes and after it is found to be his because she swears up and down there was no one else, I am afraid it may bring them close and put me on the back burner. I also hate that his family already knows her and are looking forward to the baby's arrival... Has anyone ever been thru this?.. I am starting to think I want be able to handle this the further along she gets. We've been together on and off for years, over 5. Should I just walk or what can I do to not get jealous or resent him from bringing these extra people into our lives? |

We're really in love and we've been inseparable since the day we met. He's the greatest man I've ever known. I'm 22 and he's 28. My boyfriend confided in me about a year in telling me that long story short, he's married..i was shocked. Him and her were married for less than a year and haven't had contact for some years now. He actually hates her because of something very serious. She basically blackmailed him and when she got what she wanted, she sent him divorce papers. He signed them and sent them back to her and they havent spoken since. Well recently, she called and had her mother call but he refuses to answer. We talked about marriage and it's definetely our goal but she won't proceed with the divorce. She won't divorce him and it's slowing down our situation. She says she did all the things she did because she didn't want to lose him but he told her he doesn't want to be with her anymore..he's told her that he didn't love her and that it was a mistake but she won't take no for an answer.. I want this man for the rest of my life and i believe he feels the same but I'm not sure what to do in this situation and neither is he because he was never married before her and doesn't know much about divorce. Help me, i need advice. |

In the past we talked and discussed a future together possibly with children, but how first I feel the need to become more established in my own life as an individual before I make that big step. He lives with his parents but wants to go from their home to married. Achieving independence is VERY important to me as I've always lived with an overprotective parent. I just want to know what the freedom of living on my own and doing a bit of travel feels like before settling/living with someone else right away. He knows all this but proposed anyway. Why did I say yes? I was in a state of shock and he did it in a public place where folks came out of nowhere with cameras lol. Feel bad as my therapist frowned at me & said most women typically rejoice at the idea of marriage no matter what. Idk guess I feel abnormal? Basically, I love him and can see a married future together but wasn't expecting this so soon. Being engaged feel timed now, no idea of how long it will take to establish myself. If it takes years I don't want to keep him waiting that long and ppl are already asking about our wedding. Hope he doesn't grow impatient :/ what to do? |

Something bad happened to me and my partner doesn't reach out to me anymore- doesn't text, call or sees me. It's been a week. I'm not sure if my partner feels bad for what happened to me, but I'm not getting anything from them. They don't come to see me or ask if I need anything. If I ask them to hang out then they tell me no or I want to stay home or I'm tired. It's very strange because we were very close until this incident happened. My partner's friends know since they were told, so I don't know how much of their friends' opinions have influenced the change in my partner's behavior. I keep asking what is wrong and I've been told nothing, but last night I tried reaching out again and was told that he was stressed and don't know what to do. I asked what is stressing him and he didn't respond. It's just like night and day. I've never seen this behavior. We would talk and see each other very often and hang out, but now its non-existent. I personally never involved in anything as the child is theirs. I never even met with this lady in person as she hated me without getting to know me. It must be a hard situation for her to know there is someone in her child's life... But does that give her a right to bully me with her words all the time ? She keeps calling me names and everything every single time she texts my husband. She is a very young lady so I feel like I have to wait for her to grow up to stop this nonsense. But she now started talking about me on her social accounts without mentioning my name.. It is just really annoying and I am wondering if anyone had a similar situation ? We have order protection for this person since she has a history of physically attacking us and damaging our property... |

Before that, he and I were long-distance dating, but now we live in the same country (his country, which is the US). He was the one who convinced me to move to the US to be with him, and he said he'll be earning enough so he can provide for us. I also was let go from my job months ago, and he told me that because I don't have a job it's okay he'll pay for everything (and that I shouldn't go into my savings because I am currently unemployed and it's not right for an unemployed person to pay for stuff especially after they move their whole lives to be with someone). Anyway, fast-forward to now, and he's freaking out a bit because me moving to be with him was far more expensive than he anticipated (because of having to rent an apartment, groceries, visas, etc). Today he asked me if he could borrow 2,000usd from my savings, but pay me back 500usd a month so that in 4 months I'll get it back (basically he needs it to put a down-payment for a car). I have issues with this because he assured me that I wouldn't have to go into my savings, so I feel like he lied to me and tricked me. He's saying he didn't lie, and he just didn't know how expensive it would be, and that it's not a big deal as he'll pay me back. He's also saying that since we're a married couple we should support each other. What do you think? We got into a fight earlier today because months ago I saw he was watching something and I said it made me uncomfortable (nothing major, just a youtube channel) and he said "it's okay babe, if it makes you uncomfortable then ofcourse I won't watch it". I thought to myself awww so sweet, until 2 weeks ago I caught him watching it again, so I say "what the hell, you promised you wouldn't" and he made up some bs... ...excuse like "Ohhh I thought you meant a different channel, it's okay I wont watch this one either" until today I caught him watching it AGAIN! At first he denied it and then finally admitted to it and he said it was because it was dumb that he made that promise in the first place, and I'm saying it's not the point, if you make a promise you must stick to it. Now I just feel like he's full of sweet-nothings and a liar. |

Posted: 30 Jul 2018 10:21 PM PDT A little over a year ago, I relocated from Colorado to Tennessee due to my job with my minor children and my current husband. I went through the process to obtain permission from the State of Colorado and established a parenting plan with my ex-husband. Long story short, I was screwed over in my job, and we ended up in a really rough situation that caused us to have to make the decision to leave. For a list of reasons, we decided to move to Missouri rather than moving back home to Colorado. We cut the distance in half by making this move. I'm not sure if I need to file another relocation with minor children case with the State of Colorado, especially since the new location is much closer than the original. I want to cover my bases just in case my ex-husband tries to cause problems, if he's even able to. I mean, I don't see what he would be able to complain about, we're literally a day trip away now. Additionally, I am looking to file an amendment to our parenting plan, because our original parenting plan associated with our move to Tennessee was so flexible that my ex-husband has no obligation to spend time with the kids for any period of time, and my kids are suffering because of it. Any insight as to what I need to do is so helpful, I'm not finding anything that covers this type of situation to know what I'm required to do, what I'm not required to do, what is suggested, etc. Thanks! |
