Years ago my family (not my current fam, the people I descended from) were very important as they were the chiefs of our islands. And thanks to them, my family today own a lot of land around the islands. We own more than others because our family was above everyone else at the time. But I'm not getting any special treatment right now and nobody cares. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm not getting special treatment like where people look at me and know that I'm descended from their chiefs and I own a lot of the land they live on and it bothers me. So currently my mom is out of town for business. A couple months ago, she found some alcohol under my bed and hid it in a different room without saying anything. On Monday my stepdad found it and has threatened to take my phone, laptop, and car. I have work and college classes that I need to be at. He said that he will let me bribe him to letting me keep my things. He said that it can't be monetary, and that I have to think outside of the box. Apparntly when he first talked to me, I miss understood and thought that it could be monetary. He was upset and pissed that I didn't think of anything good, and that im not trying. He said last night that he has ideas of things I can do for him, but I would be able to use them against him if he told me. He asked exactly how willing I am to do something to keep my things. I really am not too willing since I can live without my laptop or phone or car. Plenty of people do it and they are fine. Previous to this, I had a friend over and asked if he wanted any pizza if we went to get any, he responded saying that he'd eat anything that tasted good. To add to that, the last time my mom was out of town, I texted him asking If I could go to my friends house before class, and he asked what would he get out of it. That went back and forth with him asking what he got out of it, then ended with him saying twice that I need to work on my bribing with winking emojis. I have been sexually assaulted in the past, and this just makes me uncomfortable.

We had a fight between me, my sister against our parents because of something very stupid and my dad told me he will stop supporting me financially because I'm not obeying him and my mum told me to go kill myself and that she wouldn't care, they also shouted at my sister and decided not to celebrate her birthday and now they don't speak to us anymore even though we still live together. My sister is having many mental breakdowns and even tried to throw herself in front of a car when the walk sign was off because she thinks nobody cares about her. I don't wanna show my parents that we surrender to them and to their stupid ways to try to control us. But I also don't want me and my sister to be estranged especially that we aren't able to move out and are not in a position where finding a job is an option. Please help me idk what to do. PS : I am 19 years old and my sister is 16. And my parents don't want to hear a word from us, so talking to them isn't an option.

Everyday we go to work at our restaurant there's someone who always brings her kids with her. The kids do bug me a lot and mess with my brother. But they mostly choose me as their target. My sister sees all of this yet she doesn't help me at all. she just use me to keep them from bugging everyone else. So this worker with the kids, doesnt do shït even if they are disrupting everyone from doing their jobs. We've complained to her many times but like I said she aint gonna do nothing. My sister is nice enough to let her bring her kids. Yet I'm mad at her for forcing me letting them play on MY devices! And everyday til the workers shift is over I have to let them use my tablet until they leave. Just wow. Both my sister and that worker are jerks. Are they taking advantage of me? What do you think.

I read in his obituary he pledged to rid the world of cancer after his father died from it (Prostate Cancer) the same month as his 8 year old daughter died of a rare form of bone cancer in 1997. His father failed to make the effort to go to a doctor and so brought it on himself but his daughter was too young to be held accountable. He raised much money in his late daughter's name for a childhood cancer fund but of course people still get cancer. The father, son of the prostate cancer guy, just died himself at age 64 last weekend from Pancreatic Cancer. He chose chemo but I guess did not put his mind to it enough as he still allowed the cancer to return despite intense chemo last summer. When he let it return it had spread and they couldn't do anything. His funeral is Friday. So did he live a failed life since he pledged to cure cancer and failed plus despite all that energy he still let himself get cancer? He was otherwise a very good and nice man who I respected, I plan to attend Friday's services. So did this man die a failure or are there still good ways to remember his positive qualities?

Hey I'm Liz and I'm 14. My family has been planning a vacation to Orlando since last year. We planned on going to bush gardens, stay at an all inclusive resort, and go to a dinner show. Its alot of people that are going including my family of 8. Last week my older cousin needed urine so that he can pass his drug test. My mom couldn't pee because her period is on and I lied and said I couldn't pee because mine was on. So my younger sister had to pee. And she pee for him because he smokes weed. Yesterday the results came back in and the test said it was heavily influenced by narcotics. The was ADHD pills in her urine. Since my family adopted 5 children one of them had ADHD. As soon. As my mom said it was ADHD in her urine, I remembered the time I seen "how to get skinny" on the YouTube search results. And I told my mom that. My sister is about 50 pounds heavier than me and she's only 11 so it only makes sense if she did that. Finally in the store she admitted to taking the pill my adopted sister didn't take. Yes it was wrong but i didnt expect for my mom saying she couldnt go on vacation with us. I understand why my mom is letting her stay i just dont want to be on the vacation without her. But I feel guilty because the job my cousin was going to get was a really good job. I could have avoided all of this if I would have peed. Now my cousin and my mom could be facing possible jail time. Hey, thank you for taking the time to read this. My parents separated when I was really young and absolutely hated each other. When I was 14, my mom passed away and I became really depressed. My grades dropped and I started skipping class, and when my dad found out all he did was scream at me. He said stuff like "I don't care that your mom is dead" and horrible things that I will never forget. I had to go to therapy and go on meds. One time I approached him and tried to explain that I was having a really hard time, and he said "so what? We all have bad days and months! But the bills still gotta be paid, right?" And I just don't know what to say to him. I feel like he's right but also totally wrong. But I just don't know how to put it into words. My relationship with my dad has totally been failing since and I'm starting to hate him. The only advice I've been given was to stop caring. Is that the only way to deal with him? Was he right in saying those things about the bills to me? I believe there is some sense in it but it's also completely dumb. I was just a kid and I was only trying to reach out to him.

She does live alone & she does a work from home job, she orders in everyday, some days she will leave the house in order to get a cup of coffee but then returns home. I went to go see her on Tuesday & her white sheets were so stained from her lying in bed all day without showering, the difference in color from the spot where she sleeps compared to the other side of the sheets was heartbreaking. I have tried to confront her & help her in the past but she just turns on me & an argument ensues. Please I am desperate how do I help my daughter I speak to my daughter every single night, either she will call me or I will call her but we speak daily. I don't utilize Facebook much, as my job keeps me occupied. But my mom gives me the third degree. She'll ask, "Did you wish [such n such] a Happy Birthday?" If I didn't, she'll react as if I didn't offer my condolences when someone died. In addition, she reacts the same way if I don't "like" or comment on her posts. She'll ask, "Did you see what I posted?" and then gets all bent out of shape if I didn't. She even told me to comment on something she posted... and I was sitting across the dining room table from her! Out of guilt, I commented, which felt really forced. My mom takes Facebook too seriously, and there are people (cousins included) on Facebook who NEVER wish ME a Happy Birthday. I'm fine with that, especially if they aren't immediate family, thus our cousins. My mom even asked me what emoji she should use for a birthday post to a cousin, as if she's physically shopping for the perfect gift. On top of that, we barely know our cousins, as we rarely see them due to the long distance. If it weren't for Facebook, she wouldn't even know their birthdays. Literally every one of them she receives a notification to remind her that a cousin has a birthday coming up. So, not only does she overkill by making it a priority to wish them a Happy Birthday, but she doesn't know their birthdays by heart. If i'm not mistaken, not receiving a Happy Birthday from someone you barely know (relative or not) is not rude.

I work full time, i bought my own car, and I just need to get my liscense. I'm 19, I've earned everything I own. I haven't had life handed to me on a silver spool. I'm17 years old,make straight A's,take honors and AP classes,very involvedin school, never get into any trouble, do my chores and grocery shopping, and bisexual. My mother found out the latter and was very upset. Fast forward to a year later and now I'm17, spending my last summer before college stuck inside of the house and unable to spend time with my friends. I was going to get a job this summer, but unfortunately I was forced to stay home and tend to the house and to my mother's recovery from surgery. Now that a month and a half has gone by, she is better, so naturally I want to go out and hang out with my friends. I ask to go hang out with my friends and I'm always told I can't. Its not like I've done anything wrong and I know she no longer needs my help. I practically have to beg for days for her to finally say I can go hang out with them, but even then, she's constantly texting me and tells me what time to leave and video calls me saying that some family is visiting and I'm never here to see them.I HAVENT LEFT THE HOUSE IN A MONTH. I am losing my mind. I'm depressed and I keep telling her this and she tells me I'm not depressed bc she went through depression and took medicine when she was my age. Also, my dad plans to go off for a week for their anniversary in a few months and the first thing she said was that I need someone to watch and take care of me. Why does she treat me like I'm a child who can't do anything for themselves and what can I do to change things?

I have a lot of health issues. Cannabis helps, I found this out, through experience and research. However, In my state, if I use cannabis, I am a criminal, and or drug addict. Because of this, I am considering moving to another state where it is legal. This means I will leave my girlfriend of 5 years, my family, and my friends of 20 years. It makes me sad, but I want the freedom of choice. However, I wonder if I am selfish, because I choose to go the natural route. I've always felt strongly about not putting chemicals into my body, and going all natural, as I've had nothing but success with all natural remedies, and only begotten more sickness from pharmaceuticals and chemicals. He gets disgusted that I am not always relaxed like him but is always wanting to pay me for stuff. He gets disgusted that I am good to the extended family he doesn't like, but he insists on reimbursing me any costs for it. He was disgusted when I hosted a reunion last summer, but wanted to pay me for it. How do I get him to give emotional support rather then hundreds of dollars? He has so much money he doesn't know what to do with it I guess. He is busy kissing my step-mother's *** and her mother who they both fear so I do the outreach to his family that he neglects. My cousin is saying in the United states with us for 2 months. I don't know her too well and thought this would be a good way for me to get to know her and now I regret it. It's natural to be curious about things and ask me questions. But when I just start explaining something to her she cuts me off on my second sentence saying "okay okay okay. I understand." when I haven't even finished giving her the whole pictures. Also, she never believes she is in the wrong. There were a couple of topics where I proved her wrong and she just becomes silent. She never tries to understand my point of view and tries to stuff her beliefs down my throat. When I ask her in depth questions about her view, she can't give me much of an answer. She also tries to "correct" me or my mom whenever she gets the chance. Even if that means talking to a piece of what we said and not acknowledging the whole thing. Today I was just about ready to claw her when she interrupted me. I firmly told her that if she wants me to explain something I will give her the whole picture regardless of what she thinks she's good with. At the time I was only two. My aunt was the only other survivor so she adopted me and we fled to America when I was 5 and she was my Mom. I have 3 kids, 7 grandkids, 14 great-grandkids, and one great-great grandson who is an infant. I hope to make it two more years to 100. Do I tell them as they have no idea any of this happened. They always assumed my aunt was my mother and the other family members we just said had stayed in China. We both had survivors guilt but always stayed close to each other (I was a very easy kid). I had a mother and two siblings but I have no memory of it. My father had died when my Mom was pregnant with me fighting the uprising in Guangdong. We knew very little about his family and I did the DNA test and got no links other then really distant ones. So should I tell my story or keep it forever a secret? Question: My parent's fridge is always empty help?

I'm Chinese and as you know. Many Chinese families make a living making doing dine in and carry outs. So I wake up I'm usually hungry and I look for food. I always open the fridge knowing that where's nothing in there (literally) besides McDonald's ketchup, ice, sause, and dried sea food yogurt for my sisters baby. There's food in the restaurant of course! Yeah but it's the kind of food you have to actually cook...and I cant cook. And no I can't bring the food in the restaurant home because it's not like a apple or a banana which you can simply take with you without any containor or it rotting because it doesn't need a freezer.

Question: Could my Dad be in love with his sister-in-law?

My Mom's one sister is hostile to her other sister. The sister who is hostile is NOT hostile to my mother, only the other sister. My Dad hates her because of this and is very defensive for the other sister-in-law. If he is defending her then could he be in love with her and that is why he hates the other sister-in-law with such a burning passion? He bans me from seeing her sometimes and I am 32 and Independent. I agree one of the aunts is too mad at the other but that is their battle, not mine. My Mom is nice to both so it is not her being hurt. So could my Dad be in love with one of his sisters-in-law? Could they be having an affair? Could he be madly in love with the hostile one and that is why he is acting like he hates her? She has Borderline Personality Disorder which makes her passionate and I am sure very romantic in a love relationship though she always turns on people. My Mom had a pretty dysfunctional family though she rose above it.

Question: How do I get my Dad to stop belittling my Mom's sister to me?

She's in her late 20s. Everytime she gives a hand me down, it's mostly size S/XS. She's like size L and I'm a M. And lol don't even get me started when I complain why all my shirts are so dmn tight. I don't have money and my parents won't buy me anything. Our family owns a restaurant yet they never take us anywhere or buy any food.

Question: Why do I spasm and why can't I stand facing a family member?

I'm a male teenager who cannot stand facing or being around a specific family member. I spasm and shiver when I face this family member and I have to turn away almost immediately due to the pain and uncomfortable feeling I get. I have a coping mechanism which somewhat helps. This coping mechanism is that I grab and squeeze my penis and also press it / tuck it towards the direction opposite the family member who I cannot stand to be near or in the direction of. Whenever I eat with them I have to angle my chair away from them so be able to be comfortable. I think I have a mental illness however I have no real idea what's wrong with me. I have tried to search for illnesses with similar symptoms however I have found nothing with any similarities to what I experience every day. I have tried to tell other family member(s) I am close with however for obvious reasons they find it hard to believe and think that I am just trying to get attention or start a fight. I also can't really talk about it without any evidence or examples of what I'm going through. Please give any idea or information you may know in your answer and even give me advice on how to act on the situation. Please please please I'm very desperate!

I love her and all but she can REALLY get on my nerves. She just brought stainless steal earrings for me 2 days ago. All because of my idiot family they have to get my ears repericed ALOT. I lost count. But this time my sister made me wear heavy stainless steal earrings that dangle when you move. I knew it is bad for my ears bUT my sister always say "GET USE TO IT" she's in her late 20s btw. I slept and washed my hair with them on my earlobe. And every time I move it stings my earlobe. I told her to take it off today and there was BLOOD >:"( THE EARRINGS SHE GAVE ME STREACHED MY PIERCED EARLOBE I cannot trust her anymore. I was so mad at her but she began to use the I'm not great full trick to try and shut me up, even tho she can see there is ****** blood -.-

When I was little my mom was very strict and would spank me whenever I misbehaved. Now that she has her "perfect" husband, career, house, and "perfect" twins. She treats my step siblings way better than she did when I was little. She would talk mad **** about my biological father how he was a crack head and a good for nothing. Though I do agree with her somewhat because I rather have my step dad as a father than my biological father. I don't know why, but I feel mad that she has never spanked my siblings EVER. But she would spank me when I was smaller. She would always pressure me into doing better than my peers at school. Things like if you don't get A's you'll become homeless or a loser. I had to work meaning I had to do good in school in order for her to give me the things that I wanted. She told me she'll buy me a car if I got all A's in my junior year. I ended up with B in my organic chem class and said: "well that's it I won't buy you the car". I told her that my teacher was the worst nobody in class got an A. I was one of the three that got a B being the highest score. While my little brother who failed the 2nd grade she still took him to Disneyland last month. Sometimes I think my stepdad treats me way better than my own mom. Now she is threatening me that she won't pay for my college tuition if I don't pass my SAT/ACT with high scores and my senior year with A's. Oh and if I don't join the chess club in college, she really ticks me off!!!

Question: Can i legally move out when i’m 16?

So I am 15 currently but my parents are divorced. I don't want to live with my dad because he is just very rude and I hate it tbh. Could i move to my aunts now without his permission? Or when i'm 16? He's trying to put a PINS on me but it's not going to do anything since i've never gotten in trouble with the law and i don't miss school a lot. Please answer this if you have good experience with law. Also my mother is out of the question. She lives in pennsylvania and travels across the country for work. Thanks in advance.
