Every time I want to discuss it, it turns into a fight because he wants things to be like they were and he says I'm going to leave him. But that's not my intention, I just want him to understand how much this has affected me and now it's been bottle up for so long that idk what to do. We have a young daughter and this woman is still in our circle of friends as she's married to a long time friend of his. Any advice? |

In the divorced fathers divorce court record, it states that no person of the opposite sex, other than family, is allowed to stay in the same residence as the children of the father. The divorced father regularly has his 2 children, my son and his mother stay overnight, thereby breaking the court order. I do not want my son involved in this situation. Is there any way to report to the court that the divorced father, who is a complete scumbag who abuses his 2 small children, is violating the terms of the divorce decree? |

In my Mom's family there is pressure to hate this ex-aunt because she divorced a family member of ours. So I pretend to hate her but actually I don't and I think it was a divorce that both sides had a role in. However, I will pretend to hate this woman. If she is dating my Dad though I wouldn't be able to pretend to hate her anymore as I would be seeing her. If he married her I would end up having a relationship with her again. My cousins would become my step-siblings. So would it be likely that my Moms family would hate me therefore? Dislike me? How do I make sure they don't if my Dad does fall in the bed and marry this woman? Right now they haven;t seen each other in years but if for some reason they ran into each other. Uncle just divorced this year and is already dating himself, was before he was even divorced. I should note this ex-aunt is similar to my Mom and my Dad hates my Mom and Mom hates Dad but at one time they loved each other. I fear that love is still buried in there and my Dad could fall for my ex-aunt who has a similar personality to my mother. I am also scared Mom's family will disown me over this if Dad marries ex-aunt even if it is a long shot. Both have 3 kids (2 of my Dad's from my Mom) |

But two days before the video call, my BF said his mom has been busy due to virus situation, etc. I asked him if she is indirectly not wanting to meet me. He said that's not what she means. We're still dating and it has been a few more weeks now but still no video call opportunity. We might move in after summer. |

So all that I've asked for him to do is to help around the house since I work for a hospital & have been working a lot of overtime the last few months. But he doesn't do anything but sleep all day & night. I understand he might be getting a little depressed due to not being able to find a job, however I don't think it's too much to ask for him to at least clean up after himself. I'm working 3rd shift right now so on the days I work we usually sleep in separate rooms so I can try to get some sleep. But it's getting to the point where he refuses to do anything but sleep & go off & hang out with his friends. He'll even walk past the trash can & throw trash on the stove, counter, or in the sink. Pretty much all I've asked of him is to do things like wash dishes, take care of our dogs, take trash off, & maybe occasionally cook dinner. & on the days I'm off I'm having to spend all of my time deep cleaning because he won't do simple things. When I've tried to talk to him about that & the fact we really don't spend time together anymore because he sleeps all the time he just claims he's busy doing other things. Even though he isnt. He even made the comment that me working 3rd shift is really effecting him. I just don't know how else to communicate to him that things can't continue the way they are & how to motivate him to actually put effort into things. Help! |

He was a sweet and a very caring man when I was with him. After marriage which was 9 months ago, he changed a lot. He thinks I'm his property now. I'm not allowed to make decisions, I'm not allowed to think the way I want to think. He says that I'm married now and I have to follow him and think like him. I brought a kitten home one day because my friends cat had kittens that she wanted to give away. She gave one to me because I said yes. I came home with the kitten and he immedielty threw a fit and didn't let me in until I got rid of the kitten. He hates animals and he says I should hate them too. I'm not allowed to dress the way I want. I tried to wear a normal t shirt and he threw another huge fit telling me that I should listen to him at all times. I smoke once in a while when I'm stressed out. He threw the hugest fit again and told me that next time, he'll hurt me if I smoke again. I feel like I have to hide whatever I'm doing in fear of him finding out and giving me a long talk about how I should listen. I'm feeling very depressed. I still deeply care for him and I respect him but I'm not in love with him anymore. Is this a normal relationship and am I making a big deal? I'm gonna be 25 in 2 months, I never expected my marriage to be like this. I just want to know if this is normal. Is every marriage like this? |

Everytime we go out for a walk or to get some necessities, the neighbors and other people mock them because of the way they treat them and me. Is it okay to call your Asian husband a virus at this time of coronavirus? I had to get tested but I tested negative and non-Asian people are concerned my husband will infect the kids and I because he is a stereotypical authoritarian Asian husband. My kids also got tested and they tested negative. Many people where I live are scared of anyone that looks Asian and there have been a lot of racist incidents against Asians, even now with the coronavirus. Most Asians where I live are stereotypically monolithic and collective just like my husband and his family, even though they are fewer nowadays. While I was going for a walk with my husband, everyone was telling him and every other Asian neighbor to stay at home and not infect everyone with the coronavirus while they were telling me to leave that brown-skinned chink for a non-chink, my husband, before he infects me with coronavirus, which he doesn't have. To fight back against racism, my husband always wants to make sure he's a king bee among other guys, what he also calls an alpha male. |

Ive told him that I would like a kid after 2-3 years in our relationship. He was ok with that. His family keeps on telling him that I should be pregnant by now. I secretly take birth control because he's been refusing to wear condoms for 5 months now. We had an agreement and I do not want children right now, I'm just not ready. I'm only 24 and I want to wait a little longer. We can't even afford the baby which is the worst part. His family are making a big deal, they're more concerned than he is. Is he in the right for wanting children after a year? He now wants to take me to a fertility doctor because I haven't been getting pregnant. I secretly take birth control and if I tell him, he will throw a temper tantrum. Maybe he's in the right but I don't want to have children this early. He's been trying to get me pregnant for 5 months now by refusing to wear a condom. I'm very stressed out and depressed. To all of you saying I don't want a child, that's not true. I would love to have a child. But right now, I'm not physically or emotionally ready. I explained that to him but he keeps saying that things will fall into place and I should let it happen. It's all she talks about day and night we cannot have any other type of discussion. It's not just about coronavirus it's her constant bitc*hing about everything. Our governor, the Mayor, the President, out state, being stuck inside. I can't listen to it much more. We live in New Jersey by the way. If we aren't discussing it it's on tv and she's shouting at the tv! I've tried to tell her in a polite way (and not so polite) to please just discuss something else and my feelings are completely disregarded. I look forward to going to work everyday and thank God I'm an essential worker. I've never been so happy to go to work in my life. We have 3 daughters who live out of state and none of them will answer the phone when she calls. They told me they can't take listening to her anymore. My one daughter lives in Atlanta and I have one in Oklahoma City. (The other is in NYC.) I've suggested maybe my wife visit one them as it may help calm her nerves. I honestly can't take it. I'm thinking of going to stay with my parents down the street but they are in their early 80's so I'm not sure that's feasible. I don't know what to do. I've tried to tell her how much it bothers me, our children have all voiced they can't take it she doesn't care and points the finger at all of us saying we should be more concerned. My uncle and aunt got divorced and my uncle is the blood relative. One of my aunts is on the side of uncles now ex-wife who would be my ex-aunt. She's on that woman's side simply because she's nice to her. So the family views her as on the side of the ex. The rest of the family hates the ex and wants nothing to do with her and wants to make sure I have nothing to do with her. I've kind of complied as I don't think this ex-wife would really care to see any of us but I'm wondering is all this normal? When my cousins lose their grandmother, the ex-wife's mother, do I boycott the funeral since my mom and dad and my grandmother would be upset with me for going? I feel like it would be mean to me to disadvantage my cousins to get their mother back. Note I have no ill will for this ex-wife I just kind of go with the flow and the family but since uncles the blood relative I figure I'm supposed to support him. Both spouses messed up terribly but it was just an unfortunate bad marriage and neither was doing anything wrong or evil. Also I like the mentality not my marriage, not my business. Everyone else is just the opposite. So is it normal for the family to take sides and condemn people that are on the opposing side? normal for the non-blood relatives to be the enemy? |

First, she asked for my phone password and I approved until she started checking the phone quite often maybe once week and I get 0 privacy. If I don't want to hear my phone ring one night and want to put it on silent because I want to sleep in without notifications she questions it the next day? What are you hiding? So because I put my phone on silent because I want to sleep in once a week I'm hiding something? If I want to take a **** and text some friends she makes me show her? I am being accused of cheating even if I'm always home and available just because I want to have some private conversations with some friends about their marriage struggles? The idea of going to sleep while wife is snooping through phone is something that feels terribly wrong inside of me. She's reading all my conversations with my friends, mother, clients. On the first meeting I had told him that I was looking for something long-term that would lead to marriage. We became friends for a couple of months, and the guy expressed that he was interested in me. I never forced him into anything and he himself asked me out. After a couple more months together, I sensed he was not ready for marriage, I asked and he thought about it and said he saw a future with me. I asked him again next month in which he brought up issues of my health. I am pretty healthy person, so I don't know why it was something he needed to bring up. Couple month later my parents asked if he was going to propose. He made a big deal about it. Anytime the topic of marriage came up he would become aloof. I had given him multiple opportunities to end the relationship. He went on to proposing and took over wedding planning. He got upset at my family and I for everything little thing and blamed us. What made matters worse his parents condone the behavior. He broke the engagement off and then told everyone it was my parents fault.i still get panic attacks from all of this. I just don't know why I had to go through this. I am still trying to figure what I could have done better? |
