When it comes to family events however my boyfriend always expects me to go to his family functions but he never does the same for me. My family took a long time to warm up to him and after years of him and me.trying they finally invited him to our get togethers. However my boyfriend has no interest in trying anymore and doesn't go with me..it hurts and I've told him but I also feel.guilty in giving him to go but it still hurts that he can support me in the way I support him. Am I being selfish? Asking too much. There are times we don't always need to be together but holidays suck cuz I'm the only one without my other half when I'm with my family and make up an excuse like 'oh he's with his family or dad in the hospital" when he's really just sitting at home. How can I tell him that it hurts me without making him feel guilty? I like going to his family events regardless of what happens however he can't stand my family and their issues (I don't blame him) We all have issues no one is perfect. He was the one to initiate contact with me every time, I typically don't make the first move. We used to video chat quite a bit during the week, last week we only did once. The first time he asked last week to video chat, I told him I wanted to reschedule. We ended up doing it Friday & spoke for around 2 hours. His last words were "Well, maybe we can do this again tomorrow" and I did not deny or confirm. We went without talking 2 days last week but he has not attempted to contact me since the call Friday. Neither have I obviously, I was perturbed & blocked him from Snapchat. I blocked him a while back on Instagram, he still has me added on PlayStation messaging. I say I was a gf who was focused on both of our successes together and wanted him to be the best he can be and always been there for him.
