Posted: 30 Jun 2015 07:32 PM PDT My late wife and I had a number of families/couples that we spent time with - we met for dinner, etc. everything was fine when things were going well for us - when I had a good paying job and when my wife was healthy - but then she had 13 hospitalizations and she passed away. These people didn't even bother to visit her - she died and some of them paid their respects to her, but most did not. I have not said a word to these people for 9 years now. she died in 2006. I felt like people only wanted to be our friend while the money was rolling in and while things were going fine, but when things really weren't ok, they were nowhere to be found. But I don't want to hate these people forever. suggestions? |

Decided that's not what he wanted & tried to be back with me. I fought long and hard against it & still am not totally for it but he is my husband. Now he's ignoring me. The majority of divorces are women divorcing men because their men are not meeting needs, pulling through or making them happy. It's all discouraging me from getting married and becoming a mother. In the relationship I'm in now, I feel like I'm putting in most of the work to make it work out, and I DO feel that my man is not affectionate enough, and this seems to be a problem with a lot of men, that leave them single after a woman gives up on them. I always wanted to be a mother :).... But :( Seeing how a lot of men are when it comes to relationships, I don't think I want that anymore. I was engaged once, canceled it I may decide to stay un married, and forget about my desire to mother children one day, because I'm not doing it without a man at my side, and I'm giving up on the idea of marriage for that reason(A split family)... I just bought a car because I have excellent credit as long as he makes the payments its his to drive around. We live together now and whenever I try to help him get his finances together he gets mad at me saying he doesnt need help, and he keeps over drafting his bank account. The only reason we're not homeless right now is because I know how to budget, save and find deals. A good weight of the bills falls on me and he makes twice as much as I do but it's out the door before it even makes it to his account. Im constantly stressed about money and I have high anxiety and he always tries to placate me by patting me like you would a child and he tells me everything is fine. The only reason I do much better than he does money wise and he makes more than I do is because I know when things are not "fine" but wherever I bring up the state of our finances he gets mad and goes into another room. He grew up spoiled rotten because his parents don't know how to spend because they grew up spoiled, and then they both blew it. Now his dad marries wealthy women, and his mom was homeless and now she lives in government housing because she doesn't know how to spend either and shes always asking us for money, how am I supposed to deal with all this? |

He got furious, and brought down his head into my nose. I erupted in blood and he immediately tried to help. I swelled, had black eyes, was in pain. He was sorry. Nearly 2 weeks later, I am sure it is broken. I am trying to find a doctor to realign it as I type. My question is - are there times when there s nothing wrong with forgiving and staying, or am I still stupid for staying. |

My wife and I are are a little over our third year of marriage and it's not how I envisioned it being. We met our freshman year of college, moved in after our sophomore year, and eloped our senior year. After graduation we had agreed originally to move back to our home state but she got a job straight out of college and we ended up moving 1200 miles away from our hometown. | Question: Should I proceed with the divorce papers? Posted: 30 Jun 2015 07:19 AM PDT After several years of struggling in my marriage we finally have decided to separate. He left on June 15, took off for the Pacific Northwest, a place he has always dreamed of. We have amicably agreed on how things will be divided. After 24 years together, it's very surreal. But it's happening. He's been gone 2 weeks, I feel pretty good so far. I hope this is not a mistake, but I am tired of disagreeing on everything. Things just aren't like they used to be. Do I go ahead and the divorce going? I'm ready to date and I sorta want a clean slate. I dont want people to judge that I'm seeing people and still married, etc. Am I rushing it? I am also afraid that if too much time passes our amicable agreement of dividing our assets could become un-amicable...thoughts? |
| Question: Will my husband help raise a child if he never helps clean the house? Posted: 30 Jun 2015 07:17 AM PDT I've been married 3 years, and we never really set ground rules about housework. We were both raise in households where our mothers did all the cooking and cleaning, but I've always seen that as extremely unfair. It makes me extremely angry and upset to think about. Currently I do all the cooking and most of the cleaning. Sometimes he might do a load of laundry (put it in the washer, wait a few hours, get it into the dryer, maybe empty it after a few days or a week or whenever I end up doing it). He'll get around to stuff if I nag him about it, but he tends to forget, or he's on his own time schedule. The thing is if I do a chore, I try to make sure it gets done, and if he does a chore he wants to do it together, or he wants me to help. I feel like if I can do it myself, so should he. It doesn't help me to do it with him. If I wanted to do it, I would do it myself. It's like he doesn't understand that meal planning, cooking, tidying up, doing laundry, vacuuming, dusting, paying bills, etc, takes not only time but mental energy. I can't relax when I have to worry about what's gotten done and what hasn't. But if he were in charge of say, cleaning the bathroom, I wouldn't have to think to myself, "Okay, the bathtub is starting to look bad, I better get to that this weekend, and I'm going to ...." I would just know he was going to take care of it. But when I ask that he be in charge of some chore, he think I just don't want to be responsible. We married when we got out of grad school, so sometimes I think he's used to not having to clean or cook and then going home to have his mom do his laundry. I'm not pregnant, but we've talked about having kids in the future. I'm not of the "omg I can't wait to be a mother" mindset, but I'd like kids someday, but I sometimes really worry that he will help with kids as much as he does with housework. He's a great emotional support, but there's still a lot to do so far as feeding, cleaning, etc. We both work part time, but he works from 10-2, and I work from 8-4. Basically, the household wouldn't run without me, and I don't feel appreciated, but I don't know how to share the responsibility and trust that it will get done. I feel like his mother sometimes. | Question: Would it be selfish to ask for more? Posted: 30 Jun 2015 06:59 AM PDT I'm not sure when exactly it began but it doesn't feel like it's getting any better. My wife and I are are a little over our third year of marriage and it's not how I envisioned it being. We met our freshman year of college, moved in after our sophomore year, and eloped our senior year. After graduation we had agreed originally to move back to our home state but she got a job straight out of college and we ended up moving 1200 miles away from our hometown. I was okay with that but things have just kept changing. We live well but it's nothing to how I'm used to or wanted. My wife works a lot and is devoting herself to her to her job more than me. Our sex life is great but I don't spend any personal time with her anymore. She by all means is happy so I'm not sure if it's just my own issue or what. Is this the end of the honeymoon phase? Could this just be a natural drift or more? I don't want to come right out about all this and make an issue when she seems happy but I really hate how things used to be..... |
