I'm 14 year old boy and I don't like to upset my mother because she would ground me badly take my phone and curse me out also try to kick me out. My mom own everything of mine so I try not to speak out against her. She don't let me hang out on the streets which is good. Some people would say I'm soft and need to say something. I'm not bad kid, I'm well behaved. I always think I'm a pushover to her and not living my teen years like I should. Ex parties, girls, hang out with friends.

Eg. if I find out that someone is into sailing competitions, I'll ask him 'Sailing? Oh, that's so cool! How did you get into it?' Then he explains that he's been doing it since high school and competes against college teams. Then I'll ask 'I don't know much about sailing. How many team members are there?' and he'll explains the members and their roles IN DETAIL. Then I'll say 'Oh, I see. And how do you guys practice now that the river is frozen?' In the end, I'll ask 'I'd love to try it sometime too! Are there any opportunities for newbies to sail around here?' and he'll tell me about a swimming test I have to pass to begin etc. Basically, when I find something interesting that I don't know much about, I ask a bunch of questions about it (maybe even 5/6). I'm worried that it may be coming across as an interrogation or boring the other person. Do you think people find it annoying? Thank you SOOO much!!

Once I was in college, I transferred three times due to family emergencies, which might have something to do with it. I also feel like I m a bit of an introvert but not all of the time. I hI'm ave been with this man on and off for 8 years. He is extremely successful and has been the only person in my life that actually cares about me. Our relationship is more emotional than sexual. My husband has a group of guys that he's really close to, they all have wives and girlfriends and sometimes we all hangout. For a long time I've felt like I never fit in with any of his friends significant others. I've tried to be friends with all of them but no one seems to want to even have a conversation with me. Hello I have basically left my private school. Woohoo! I hated everyone at the school as they were all horrible people. I'm feeling really down and I'm tired of my emotions being so crazy. I know some of that has to do with this but I'm also annoyed. People don't really seek me out or try to get to know me even though I'm able to help them understand the vast caves that make them who they are. I've had so many people who barely know me confide in me within minutes of talking to me -- problems they'd never admit to me, I've helped my best friends get to know themselves better than they'd ever imagined. Yet, no one ever asks me about who I am and this leaves me feeling like a tool on a belt. I'm capable of so many incredible things -- I've been told, but no one tries to get closer to me. I'm also looked over in regards to romance. People see me, and from what I hear I'm very loved, more than my friends will ever express, but I've never had anyone ask me out or tell me to my face of their interest in me. Then when those who do tell me, they scare off and decide to stay friends with me because "you're too valuable to lose". I'm so lost in this.

My housemate, who was recently diagnosed bipolar (it's bundles of fun here.. Not.), keeps helping himself to things such as my bread, milk, juice, toilet roll and toiletries. so here's the story I went over to my friends house for a swim party and there were a lot of girls there. I love taking pictures so knowing me I was taking selfies with my friends and they were doing the same thing. The next day the one friend who threw the party started saying I was so annoying for taking tons of pictures but she only said I was annoying. She didn't tell me. If she would've told me then I wouldve stopped. She won't talk to me and she keeps saying I'm annoying. I tried to talk to her. Nothing's helping. What do I do?

To put it very simply, a friend of mine got a haircut and another one is calling him ugly behind his back. Normally, I jump right on that to start defending him (because obviously it is screwed up to say stuff like that about a friend), the only reason why I am hesitant is that the other friend is going through a rough time. A close family member of hers passed away last weekend, so I don t want to make her feel worse if I come to the defense of our other friend, but the things she were saying were really harsh and it made me uncomfortable to read (through text). I Came to the realization that my friendship with my bestfriend had so many inconsistencies and she was shady and it was hard to trust her and tryed to fix things and she said okay well start over a new slat and soon she began throwing party's where I wasn't invited when be4 I was always invited and so i was confused like is this your way of trying to fix things and she would hardly reply to me over text and in school she didn't seem to be putting in the same effort to try to improve our friendship and so I started to avoid her, blocking her off social media and just shut her out completely and we haven't talked since and as I feel this is the best choice as we have grown so far apart I also feel guilty as tho I made the wrong decision and am in the wrong. now I'm starting to doubt my decision. It's been probably about 3 months since we have talked but now I want to reach out to her to see her pov and to see her side of things but I don't want to go back looking like a fool that can't live beyond her and our friendship. So I have been depressed for a few years, and recently I had a break down shortly after my best friend left my house. I was feeling very negative about myself, and the only way she played in was that I felt like an awful friend because she had a bad time. She didn't say or do anything hurtful, but now my mom's like "Well most of the time when you get upset it's after she leaves, so maybe she is negatively affecting you." That's not true! The only other time that has been the case is when we stayed up all night AND hiked the next day, and I was exhausted and had a lot of homework and just melted down. My parents are talking about whether I should be allowed to see her any more and took my phone because it's a "risk for me to contact her." Please help me! She never hurts me and I love her so much. How can I convince my parents that she is not behind this? She is my reason to keep going, and if I can't see her any more I will kill myself.

However, I have the n-word in my mind whenever I see this guy at my school. He flirts with me. I find him attractive, but I can't see myself dating him. Why do I have the n-word in my mind? The majority of my friends are girls because I'm more comfortable with girls, but whenever a boy talks to me I get really quiet and awkward. I have maybe two guy friends but I hardly engage in conversation with them. This started bothering me since I see at school my friends and other people being friends with both genders and I feel like I should be less discriminate toward what friends I make. I'm painfully awkward at times and especially around guys, I hate feeling closed off to potential cool friendships. I just don't know how to act around the male gender at all unless they are gay or feminine and I'm tired of it. So right now im on a school trip from the US to Europe. Now PLEASE dont comment anything mean okay... well im literally so close to my mom and miss her so much that ive been crying almost all the time. ive never been so far away and i dont know how to cope with this :( it's embarassing to cry because everyone is all having a blast while im here crying because i miss my mom. i know it should be taken as a compliment, but all day every day i give people advice without some of them so much as asking what's going on in my own life. don't get me wrong, i enjoy helping others, but i also feel that there's a fine line between healthy venting and using me as a dumping ground. i have problems of my own and am getting so tired of having to constantly give advice. however, i feel like since i've done it before, they now expect it from me. my roommate is one of them. while i really like her as a person, the minute i get home from anywhere she instantly corners me and starts unloading everything (and with her, even the most minuscule things are somehow turned into a crisis), and i don't even have a second to catch my breath. i've tried dropping hints like hey i'm tired, or i've given you all the advice i can, or even joked about sending her the bill in the mail, but she does not get the hint. i'm getting really tired of it all and don't know what to do. i don't want to be mean, but i also can't take much more.

I was at a party and after everyone left a few people stayed behind. The few people who stayed like (3 people) not including me or the host of the party. So there was a total of 5 people left in the room. The friend of mine Tom who was the host was cleaning up the room, taking out trash etc. He was sitting at the table with 3 other guys when one of the guys( NOT Tom) pulled out a bottle of marijuana and began to roll it on paper. My friend Tom didn't smoke anything and got up from the table as the other 3 guys got ready to smoke. I Ryan was standing 4-5ft away from the table. Tom went to go finish cleaning and as he was cleaning, picking up trash etc. Tom's other friend the 3 other guys at the table were talking about a time where Tom was high on Pot. The 3 guys didn't say how long ago this incident was.Then my friend Tom said this to me "you can go and smoke with them". When he said them he was referring to the 3 other guys at the table who were getting ready to smoke. I told my friend/host Tom that I don't smoke. That is where my friend Tom responded to my comment by telling me this "good for you I don't smoke anymore." Btw Tom never smoked at all with them that night. But do you think Tom was trying to lie and cover up for himself with that last statement. I will give 10 points to the best answer. I met my boyfriend in highschool. We have been on and off for years for many reasons. The main reason being drugs. When I met him he didnt use drugs but after 6 months or so he started. The first time I med his best friend we were 17 and we went to a party together. I went with my friends and he went with his best friend. The party got crashed by the police. When we were leavings the party i was pretty tipsy and i had never drank like that. he asked me to ride with him and his best friend. I agreed but warned that I wasn't feeling so great. The first thing his best friend started doing was speeding and swerving the car. I felt even worse and got angry demanding for them to let me out of the car. I yelled for them to let me out of the car and my boyfriend yelled at me to stop exaggerating and calm down. After that I rode with my friends the rest of the way. Not long after that I found out that my boyfriend was on drugs and was the reason his family found out so he broke up with me. We got back together 2 years later thinking that he was now sober but I came to find out he was not and I broke up with him. At this time his best friend and other friends started prank calling me calling me a ***** and insulting me. It wasnt until I texted my "X" and told him to tell his friends to stop that the calls and text messages stopped. After another 2 years we ran into each other and started talking again. Weve now been dating for 2 years. His best friend inhibits his drug use. now I dont blame his best friend entirely for the drug use because I know my boyfriend makes the choice but his bestfriend doesn't help. He knows hes trying to get sober and still brings drugs around him and offers it to him. A while ago my boyfriend and I got in a fight and his bestfriend texted me telling me to "Suck a ****** dick" When I saw him in person he told me that Im the reason my boyfriend uses drugs. I started getting prank texts again and I cant prove it but I am almost certain its him. My boyfriendwill be doing well and then starts hanging out with his friend then relapses. Its really irritating because in the past my boyfriend use to ditch me to hang out with his friend. Now when were together his bestfriend will blow up his phone. Hell constantly call him and text him until he answers. It will be 2 in the morning and hes asking my boyfriend to take him food or borrow things. I cant stand him. Ive gotten to the point where even seeing his name on my boyfriends phone angers me I dont know what to do. My boyfriend is his bestfriends sons godfather. Its summer and before summer a new girl came to school that liked my bff but hated me! Her and my BFF were good friends but before in school my BFF called her her BFF I was mad at for a while. I thought its only school I have the summer to hang with my bff. The worst part they are going to the same middle school!!! I got into a magnet program and I told my BFF I wanted to hang out over weekend when school starts! I now feel bad that this new girl may be getting closer to my BFF!!! I mean it was bad in school but I am now feeling the worst like the edge of it all. I feel sick in the stomach like depressed you don't know how good of friends we are! I just founded out the new girl has been over her house like everyday since school let out. We have been out for a week and a half and she been to my home once and that day the girl was at hers! She blew me off for her Im sick!

Well it all started around a year ago. I realized I was the bulk in our friendship. Whenever something was wrong in her life I would take my time to try to work it out for her and to think positively about anything. I honestly didn't mean that and it really hurt me because I couldn't believe she would say that so I tried to hurt her back as well too by saying stuff about her ex and her relationship with her parents and I know I was wrong but I was just so hurt. And I also know she told our other friends as well about it because now they won't even talk to me anymore. She also invited all of them to her graduation party except me and is flaunting it all over her social media where she knows I'll see it. Anyways sorry for the rant but I have no idea what to do because I have nobody to talk to about this. I miss her everyday but I still try to remember how much she hurt me

When I moved at age 23, I made friends so easily.. looking back, I think it was just LUCK. I wasn't even funny or interesting, cuz I as so young and inexperienced. Maybe that's why it worked: I wasn't complicated by issues. When I moved at 28, I had the opposite experience: suddenly I had NO charm towards anyone. Everybody hated me. I'm always saying and doing the wrong things. It's been 5 years now, and I've only made casual friends that I mostly stop hanging out with. I've tried everything--don't accuse me of NOT trying. That's NOT the issue. What am I gonna do?

Hello there I am an 18 year old guy from Europe. I on one hand consider myself very normal for my age as I enjoy sports, music and partying with friends. However in some ways I feel way too mature for my age: -I have travelled 12 times solo (that is doing complete trips alone) from the age of 16. -I read news all the time and actively discuss world problems with my parents. -I have a serious job in a restaurant which often includes being a PA to the manager. -I know my future and want to become an airline pilot. -I always arrange my own things and often have breakfast or lunch alone in a restaurant. I live in Spain so this is very cheap. - I have driven 1000+ miles by myself through Europe. -I have almost finished writing a novel. Now especially with the solo travel part many adults praise me and think I am doing amazing. My small group of friends are also supportive. But deep inside I actually feel excluded from my age group and feel like a weirdo for being so independent and mature. I also really would like to find a girlfriend and share my life but am afraid girls will find me strange and too mature. Girls think im very funny but still im scared they wont like me because of my maturity. What can I do to stop this feeling?

Not that he has to but according to our mutual friend he thinks that I will get jealous finding out he has a girlfriend. I want him to tell me because for the past few months he has been bugging me to meet one of my friends from high school to potentially become his girlfriend. However he stopped bugging me about meeting my friends and I found it weird but now it is because according to his facebook he has a girlfriend. Is it wrong that I want to ask him because I found it really weird that he stopped bugging me about my friend and meeting them? I just wish he would be honest with me, I consider him one of my best friends and he also considers me his best friend as he told me that before so I do not know why he thinks I will be jealous if he finds out. I also want to find out why he stopped asking about my friends and maybe he'll be honest about having a girlfriend then. I don't care if he has a girlfriend as long as he's happy that's all that matters and I want him to be happy as he is my best friend but I still don't know why he decided to keep her a secret from his friends because Our Mutual Friend how to find out from Facebook too (however he knew about past girlfriends). Should I ask him or should I just leave it alone because I'm curious as to why he didn't ask me to still meet my friend after a few months of begging me all the time to meet them or if not he said he would not be my friend.

I recently lost my best friend and the person I used to like (but ended up becoming friends with) recently. They both unfriended me on social media and when they aren't talking badly about me, they are pretending I don't exist. It's been a month now and I still breakdown in tears constantly over this. How do I stop feeling this way?

Marine best friend please help!!!? Okay so my best friend left for the marines and it's killing me. We aren't just best friends we have a weird relationship that nobody else really seems to understand. Everybody swears were dating but they just don't understand that were just extremely close. I've never been as close with anyone as I am with him. So on to my question... I got a letter from him with the address I can send him letters to and since then I've sent four letters to him. But I just got a letter today from him today that said "please write me so I can stop worrying I need to know your okay! I love you more than anything!" So he hasnt gotten any of my letters. I guess my question is why hasn't he gotten my letters it's been almost 2weeks since I mailed the first one.. If it was the wrong address wouldn't I have had them returned to me by now? I feel so awful that he doesn't think I'm writing him it breaks my heart!! :( thanks to anybody that answers I would really like to know why he hasn't gotten my letters. Also are there any songs that I could listen too when I miss him? He gave me a list of 3 songs to listen to "see you again" "leaving on a jet plane" and "courtesy of the red white and blue" I love them all but I would like more to listen to.. To kind of fill the void for me until I go to his boot camp graduation in August. Thank you for any help

I've been friends with these three people since we met as freshmen in high school, and now we are seniors. We havent always been the closest but we've gotten a bit closer over the years. However they never seem to listen to what I say, or look away and not pay attention and just reply with "cool," or "okay." They always seem surprised whenever I like to dress up a bit at school and put me down about it. I once wore some really summery trousers and one of them (Alexis, she dresses up quite a bit for school) commented that I looked like a "librarian" and started pointing it out to all of my other friends saying that I looked like a mini librarian. Last time i wore a long skirt and she called me a kindergarten teacher from the 60s. Im not sure if I'm just being sensitive, but Id like to trust my gut since I have been picking up on their disrespect.. no matter how subtle. They always call me "little sprout" and I don't remember the last time they used my real name. They never invite me to get our nails done, or anything to do with makeup or dressing up, and they tell me it's because I don't like that kind of stuff. When they do invite me, it's a nonchalant And half hearted "you can come..if you want." I may sound a bit petty, but their constant patronizing and condescension have hurt like a thousand paper cuts a day. Too subtle to confront them about it, and too painful to ignore. I would appreciate any comments and advice too :)

i haven't been able to sleep what so ever over the past couple of nights. I was best friends with this girl for some time. Most people thought we were dating or were going to. Nothing ever came of it. We ended up drifting apart but stayed in touch. I don't even know if we are friends now or what we are. Anyways, I'll be moving away to seek new things for my life. She doesn't know because she hardly takes the time to talk to me anymore. I know it's stupid why have I been so depressed about someone that doesn't even seem to care.

While I am not sure, I have an inkling that my best friend was recently raped. She went to NYC to visit her father (father's day) and Aunt/Cousins this past Sunday. When she returned the next day (Monday), she stated her weekend was not that great. When we spoke more through text and miscommunication, she said "I had no idea what she had to deal with; and that she needed a day to process things". Several hours later, I sent an (what I thought) uplifting passage I had found on Facebook. Only for her to reply for me to save that stuff because it does nothing for (these key words, which she did not explicitly state were about her) "Sexual Abuse", "Immediate Family", and "Someone Getting punched in the face". While in another text message she stated that while she shares many hard times with me, this one is "absolutely different; and she needs time to process". Does this sound how I think this sounds? And how can I help her? Because I don't believe her keeping everything to herself will help.
