I heard there was a scandal about how one of the sons had inappropriately touched one of his sisters, but is this really true? And which son and daughter was it? And the dad is mad at the son and said that people who commit to incest should be killed, but I thought the son only molested one of his sisters? Or more than one? And the dad is running for a political position due to this? And the Duggars just had a miscarriage? What do you guys think could have been the cause of the son molesting one of the sisters or some sisters? What is going on??? |

I didn't really her dad, never had a conversation really with him but he knows who I am & who I was in relation to his daughter. However, today on Father's Day, my heart is hurting for him. I don't know what to write in a card to him. I want to let him know that I'm thinking of him & that I know today must be difficult or weird for him. I don't want to offend him in any way but at the same time tell him that this day probably is hard for her too & she probably wishes she was out so she could make this day special for him. I guess I'm just looking for help acknowledging father's day for him since she's locked up and being sympathetic of what he must be feeling. |

But now is my time it's my essence. I feel like a prisoner though. Physically & creatively. If I ever say anything or open my mouth my mother will tell me to stfu. My dadtells lies about me to his family like I beat up a kid which is not true. They won't let me attend meetings which can really change my life. I get beat up at school because they think I'm gay. I don't do **** to people.My dad tells me I'm disgusting & forces me to change cloths because he's homophobic & thinks I'm gay. I wear Polos how are they inappropriate?I don't really have friends like I do but there all girls & I'd just get judged more so no I don't go out. I'm home all summer literally. I lost faith in religion I believe in a higher self but I don't have a religion which angers my parents. My dad hits me with a belt for that. I don't sleep it's my choice is rather be making money.My English teacher was racist & fails me because I **** you not had letters on my paper. I just want to leave. I'm dead mentally. He is a great dad provides the kids with new cars, Iphones, car insurance, health insurance as well as spending money. I've noticed they seldom call him unless they want money or need something. Next week he is treating them to all expense paid trip to Disney World and Universal but he's heard nothing today and seldom get's even a thank you. The daughter made a lovely facebook post on Mother's day but has done nothing for her dad. Is it the Mother's job to remind them, even though they are divorced. I would send a kind, gentle carefully worded text but I know it wouldn't be received well. The eldest was given a graduation party by my fiancés parents, she was given close to $1000 in money from those that attended but has not written a single thank you note, not to her grandparents that hosted the party or her dad that gave her money as well as a new computer for university. The mother says that "children cannot be expected to say Thank You, she's just a kid." My mom had us writing thank you notes for gifts when we were old enough to write. Times sure have changed. |

My mom and I always get in fights over small things and I honk its because we are so similar. She is really hypocritical and really conceited, and gross are two things in not so I will call he out on it. I can have a smart attitude and I always apologize and say I didn't mean it and then she stays mad and says my apology wasn't sincere. Often times I feel my parents are much more lenient with my sister, in punishments and in giving her things. I'm extremely blessed and thankful for everything my parents have given me, but sometimes the way my parents spoil my sister upsets me. For example, for each of our 13th birthdays, we both got to redo our rooms. Since my sister is just turning 13, she is in this process. For my 13th birthday, I repainted my room, got a new bedspread, etc. But my parents informed that for my sister's birthday, not only would they be doing this, but getting her all new furniture as well as a queen sized bed (I have a twin and have been asking for a larger bed since I was her age). She also was given a phone years before I was allowed to have one and whenever she gets in trouble, her punishment is almost always lifted unlike mine..I'm not sure if parents are just naturally more lenient with the younger child or if it's just mine..it's extremely frustrating for me because my sister brags about how much my parents love her more (which I know isn't true it's just annoying) and I feel if I confront my parents about it they'll get angry and accusatory. I haven't cut since but the scars haven't faded yet. Posted: 21 Jun 2015 11:45 AM PDT My mom and step dad have been in arguments for months now over very minor reasons and assumptions, for example my dad had stopped my my mom at work to say hi but my mom had been speaking with a male manager (emphasize "male") about her job and shift schedules, later that night she comes home to him yelling at her, cussing her out and assuming she might be cheating on him all because she had talked to another man. Their arguments aren't physical, at least not anymore. My step dad had a history of hitting my mother, twice. I never thought it was my role to really get involved because it's their relationship, their problems. But it has slowly been seeping into my personal life and I keep getting involved and caught inbetween their arguments and I feel that the more I see my step dad cussing out my mom for petty reasons, the more likely I am to just knock him out, literally. I've wanted to for such a long time ever since the day I saw my mom crying with bruises on her face and it won't take much more for me to do the same to him and show him how it feels to get knocked unconscious. I want to ask though, with him being my step-dad, is that really the best thing to do? There are no legal actions I can think of that he can take to go against me since I have plenty of reasons of my own to show he deserves what is coming to him once he gets it. He is an abuser, and I think he deserves the same if not worse that he did to my mother. Is it okay to do legally? Additionally I have been talking with my mom a lot, and between what we can and can't do, they both own this house together and my mom alone doesn't make enough to afford another house but she wants to move away. We already have recorded verbal abuse ex "*****, stupid *** ****". And we have all of this recorded in sound. (My little sister recorded it on her Leap Pad, she was trying to make a random video of her own cause she's just 4 and enjoys it lol, and you can hear him talking over my little sister, not caring that she's sitting there right in front of them both, and he still says all of those things to her). |

Posted: 21 Jun 2015 10:53 AM PDT I want to become a singer with the back up plan of choir teacher or baker but none one those including any other food person job or any other teacher job even if it's science teachers aren't real jobs to them. My mom wants me to either engineering and or any science major but not the biology major relating to animals that my cousin is doing coz appearantly she disproves of it. My dad's other options including the listed above with my mom are IT, accounting, and any economics coz I apparently took the personal finance class yet it was required. Medical is the last the thing I can do since they see as if I can't find some jobs I try medical but not just any medical degree like no therapists, no nurses since those aren't real jobs so more towards like pediatrician, family doctor that kind of thing. They think well more my mom thinks that if I don't do any major listed above with medical degree being the last thing than I'll live a miserable life. Technically, they already see me failing at life after college anyway like no joke. I've known since I was 2 I wanted to sing. 18 year old girl/upcoming college freshman. For the advice just don't say like don't listen to them or do what you want coz I already am not caring what they have to say about my career choice and I will be doing what I want career wise. |

I even couldn't finish college because I had no way to get to my 8 am classes. my mom got my unreliable cousin to take me. this was when I was 18. but now befor emy brother got a car, my mom took him to school so he could get there on time. When I was in south Carolina I was trying to get my license but it was a hassle since I lived in ga before. my bf use to take me everywhere. | Posted: 21 Jun 2015 10:35 AM PDT I have an ex husband who has not been around much in 15 years of raising two boys due to his own addictions and prison terms. In and out of the kids lives for years never sticking around for long and always a dissapointment to them. Throughout all these years I have always sort of let him be around whether it was coming to my home to see kids or at some points even taking them here and there as long it was safe. Prison terms after jail terms etc...now kids are teens and they wanted to really connect with their father I suppose. At one point my older son was so defiant he wanted to live with dad. Against my better judgement I let it happen so that maybe he could really see what his dad is all about. Lots of manipulation and brain washing has occurred with both kids to be against me in every way. They have even said phrases to me only my ex would say. Hurtful and untrue facts. Within this year my older son has been with my ex while he was arrested for possession and violating his parole. This last time my ex actually put my sin in the middle by telling him to handle things for him while he was in jail. Ex is on bail and the weird thing is when he was released both boys were at friends houses and not concerned with getting home to see their dad. At one point dad shows up to see them and my younger son wanted to go to another friends but dad made some huge ordeal and manipulated the situation to get my son to spend time with him instead. I saw my son with tears as though he were angry but didn't want to say no. I wonder if they are seeing what dad is really about or if they are angry or sad or what? They were taking a lot if it out on me but yet they were quiet as well. My older one has not asked to go live again yet this has only been a few weeks so not sure. Dad is a manipulator and not sure what he has up his sleeve but its never legit and never really meant for kids. Will these teens ever really see what he's about or will the manipulation continue into adulthood? |

I have painful memories and trauma. Its just frustrating. And now that I'm distant and don't talk to my him (because I'm scared), she gets mad at me and makes me feel bad. "You know, you really should talk to him, he is your father you know!" Its like I can't win. Just to get an example. He used to hit me in the head, call me every cuss word, call me ugly, fat, threaten my life etc. |
| Posted: 21 Jun 2015 10:23 AM PDT In summary, I don't like living in Central New York. I've been wanting to move for many years. However, I haven't moved because of my family making me feel guilty about wanting to move and because I'd feel terribly sad about not being able to see my family on a regular basis. My Mom tells me how she doesn't want me to move because it would make her terribly sad not to be able to see me or her grandkids and how she won't really be able to visit because she doesn't have the money too (which is true.). A big part of the reason she doesn't want me to move too is because of my husband. He treats me like you know what and she knows this. I know I'm stupid for staying with him but my question isn't about my marriage. I told her that I hate living here for many reasons and that I've stayed because of family. However, I hate living here. Especially because of the long winters. She tells me that most people won't just up and leave because of winter because they familyand roots here. Plus, I have 2 teenage daughters. One of my daughters is starting high school next year and told me she would hate moving away because she has all of her friends here. I don't know what to do. Honest opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated. |

So I got annoyed with this and sent him a picture of my text books and went "Look at my $23,000 per year education." He hasn't replied since. The thing is, he's always showing off expensive things yet he lives off of welfare in France because he works for a few months and quits and then gets the welfare check from being unemployed. Yet he criticizes me for being lazy and not having money... even though I'm only 19 and working my way to medical school... but now I feel bad because he never went to college. |

It's shitty" then my cat was throwing up so I was trying to help him stay put and clean up after him and she stormed in, screaming "god damnit, make that f*cking cat stop!" And when said I couldn't she picked him up and shook him around finally picking up a towel and covering his entire head. He was still puking and he couldn't breath that well. He tripped me and punched me in the face and tore my favorite shirt apart and told me I was going through puberty and that he hated me and punched and pinched my back (he is extremely abusive with anger issues) and i am really worried that he will tell my mom and they will force me to go to another psychologist (I have been to 4 and none helped at all) What do I do??? Do l kill myself now to save myself the grief? |

| Posted: 21 Jun 2015 09:52 AM PDT I feel like my early adult hood life is starting off really bad and im not being productive. i still haven't had a real job yet and still live with my strict parents. i could of been working but they refused my first opportunity and now im still job seeking. parents are really strict have no professional friends cause im always sheltered and cant go anywhere and I see 20 21 yr olds like me being very successful and doing wonderful things because they dont have boundaries put on them. but enough of that my questions are What are some major pieces of advice that can lead me in the right direction. What life lessons have you learned that you wouldnt want another to commit? what should i do to get my life to the maximum, knowing that I have their whole life ahead of me? Perhaps being down the line -- what were the things that you wished you had done when you were 20? Or best ways to make the most out of your 20's? i know the decision that i make now will make a great difference on my future. i have had many plans to do things that would make me successful. im majoring in computer science and trying to be a programmer but my strict parents give so much negativity especially starting off to major in it they kept saying bs like i dont think a lot of people get hired blablabla when all of my friends that used to live by me majored in computer science and all are hired |

He said that we would get one before my birthday (in three days) and I've already bought 80 pounds of sand for it and rearranged all the furniture in my basement so we would have a place to put the tank (with the help of my mum and my dad). He was sending me links to used aquariums and we were going to pick up the 135 gallon tank we BOTH settled on tomorrow. Last night while eating dinner he suddenly got cold feet and said we couldn't drive out and pick it up because it would be 'too heavy'. The tank would weigh a little over 150 pounds empty, I am an underweight vegan girl and I can bench press 75 pounds, my dad can lift even more than that, the tank would not be too heavy for both of us to carry, even if I couldn't get it through the back door in my basement my mum or one of my neighbors (who used to be a professional wrestler) could help. I wouldn't want a tank this big if my dad didn't get me a goldfish ten, almost eleven, years ago. Goldfish grow to be very large and mine is 13 inches long. He's in a 40 gallon tank, and 40 gallons sounds like a lot but the dimensions are 36x18 inches. I don't really think it's fair to keep an animal that large in such a small tank, for example, I'm 5 feet tall. That would be like keeping me in a room 15 feet long and 7.5 feet wide for the entirety of my existence. Do you think I have any reason to be upset with him? |

He never called, I haven't seen him since! ... Years later I was 15 and I got pregnant and had a baby with my boyfriend .. Once the baby was born it began to be more difficult to have a relationship where the father of the child does not help . Me & my boyfriend broke up when my son was 1 . He has seen his son twice! & hasn't since he has a new girlfriend he totally ditched my son because he wants to start a new family . Because he doesn't want his old one . ( Me and HIS son ) I'm now 17 my son is almost 3 . It's Father's Day and I'm confused . I don't think my father nor my sons father should be appreciated . I can't understand him also I tried hard to show him that I'm successful in this way even I played his favourite songs or I composed my own music and I had some good shows at school but again he said that I should stop it because it's wasting my time.I don't know what should I do to get his attention. |

| Question: Is being dumb a good reason to dislike someone? Posted: 21 Jun 2015 08:52 AM PDT I feel really bad using that word because the someone that I'm talking about is my girlfriend. My parents don't like her because in their words "she's dumb and immature." I really love my girlfriend and think she's amazing but I can see why they might think that about her. I'm just trying to understand if those are even good reasons to dislike someone.. She's a very kind, honest and genuine person. I know she's a bit naive and innocent when it come to the real world and she prefers fantasy. Other than me she's very into anime, cartoons and video games. She's always smiling and seeing the best in everyone and that's what I like about her. When she met my parents I could tell after a couple of minutes they were not approving of her. They weren't up front about it but I could tell they were trying to subtly send us that message. Well my gf didn't pick up on it at all. She isn't good at reading people or noticing hints like this. She continued to be nice to them and tried to help them with dinner. I could tell that the more she answered their questions the more they disapproved. My girlfriend left believing they like her but I know they don't... Later my parents told me that what turned them off was how "dumb" she seemed to them not taking hints and other things. They said she came off as totally immature and childish. How? She was very polite the whole time? How can I get them to see her how I do? I don't want to have to tell her they disapprove of her :( It would hurt her. |

Posted: 21 Jun 2015 08:50 AM PDT a middle age adult female I know grew up in a household where the father was highly critical, yelled a lot, cursed a lot, used spanking and threats as punishment and occasionally became quite violent. Neither parent was demonstrative or expressed love openly/directly but were very involved in their children's lives, spent lots of time with their kids, and guided them well regarding school, handling money etc. They were not at all "social". The mother was patient, "sweet" although not demonstrative, but could be quite "picky" about how things were done in her house. She did not swear, hit, call names or scream. She was generally passive regarding her husband's outbursts.This now adult female is very rigid, highly conservative, has little empathy with others, focuses completely on what she is experiencing in a situation, and is quite intelligent. Although she recalls the father's abuse (verbal, emotional, and physical) she insists he was a FANTASTIC father and it was her mother's fault her father was like that. She wears only black and navy blue, covers herself completely even in the hottest of weather and ridicules other people who wear shorts, sleeveless shirts, and bright colors. She is not demonstrative at all and gives no verbal signs of affection, she thinks it's stupid and unnecessary (to be continued) |
| Question: My girlfriend has a kid...? Posted: 21 Jun 2015 08:46 AM PDT I dont even know where to start with this. I've known this girl for around 5 and a half years. We stopped talking because we had our own things going on and in that time she had a kid by another guy. He's a waste of space and sees his son once every month or two for an hour at the most. About 8 months ago we started talking again and have been in a relationship for about 6 months. Everything is almost perfect. Apart from the fact I feel second best. I know the kid is always going to be priority and that doesn't bother me at all but how can I compete with the dad. How can I raise another man's child? I'm torn between loving this girl who gives me everything I need and thinking can I really grow old with her raising this kid. He is not a problem only two years old but I just don't know how to feel. Am I being selfish for wanting my first child to be my partners first child? I love this girl but I think maybe I should call it a day even though I really don't want to. I feel sick when I think about it. Knowing the father of the child can contact her at any time and try to worm his way back in is one thing and knowing if I take this further I will end up raising this child I just don't know what to do. I guess the advice im looking for is someone who has been in this situation or even an outsiders opinion. Have I really got it in me to raise another man's child for the next 15 years? Spend my hard earned money on him? I hope someone can help because I'm going crazy daily... thanks |

(We always get money for that) and than my brothers like "he owes me $30" im just like bi*tch what?? He is homeschooled and ended school before us. And wasnt suppose to get money while we were still in school. And than when my brother mowes the lawn he gets $40 so one day my dad asked my brother if he wanted to mow the lawn and he said no soi asked if i could and he said yes but only gave me $10 we have 3 acres of land. And the even worse part is my dad wont fricken buy his own house he lives with my aunt and uncle and cousin and 4 dogs and her house is so gross with lots of dog hair and there was a perfect extreamly cheap house and it was amazing and only 129,000 but noo he didnt want it. He is so annoying i hate him so much. |
