My good friend Carol is a single mother with a teenage son John and a teenage daughter Nancy. Carol thought it would be good for her son to have a male influence in his life so she ask me to take John to sporting events as he really likes sports. I gladly did what she wanted. I took John to several games. We both enjoyed the games and John and I became good friends. Then something unexpected happen. Nancy ask me if she could go with us to the sporting events. I told her that would be OK if it was OK with her mother. Carol was OK with it so the 3 of us went to several games together. All 3 of us enjoyed the games. I also became good friends with Nancy. At the last game both John and Nancy told me "You would make a great dad". "Would you marry our mom". I told them thanks for the complement but your mom would probably want to marry someone her age. She is a VERY BEAUTIFUL woman and could find many guys her age that would want to marry her. She is 12 years older than I am. John and Nancy said "They would not be as good a dad as you would be". "We would love to call you dad". I am not sure what I should do about this if anything. I don't want to cause any problems for anyone. Do you think Carol would be interested in dating some one 12 years younger than she was. She would sure make a trophy wife for any guy. Please give me some advice on what I should do if anything.

Our kids play nicely and have become great friends over the past year. Their mom is a entitled person who gossips to me about others on the block. Making fun of their clothes, their kids, their belongings..etc. She befriended one of the women on the block she had gossiped to me about and I now know I have become the target of this behavior. Worse than that, she has started ignoring my toddlers when they say hello or ask her if their kids can play with them. Watching my toddler be ignored by a grown woman sent me into a rage. I confronted her about it and asked to talk about whatever the issue was...she refused to speak to me. And didn't make eye contact or say much of anything to me when confronted.  We will be neighbors for years to come so what do I do? I tried to talk things through to see the issue and fix it at least for the kids sake. But how can I when she is unresponsive? What now? Our yards are practically joined together and our landlord won't allow fences... And her husband was outside when it happened, he didn't get into it either so I'm at a loss here.

I work for a company and always notice that quiet new hires never get talked to. No one ever makes an effort to talk to them and get them to open up. Everyone just sticks to talking to outgoing people and the quiet people never really get a chance to fit in because no one makes an effort to just say hi. It's like if you are quiet, you just get put in a box that no one ever cares about. I always make an effort to talk to the quiet people and I think they appreciate that

Ok so when I'm sitting down in my room people outside have access to me and know what I'm doing when I have never met them before and don't know them anywhere. The people outside keep track of me and act as if we are close and related and I don't know them. What do you think of this situation and what should I do and how can I make them stop having access to me?

So backstory... a few years back reached out to this person (my now-bsf) because he went to kindergarten with me and we started talking a lot. We would talk all night and all day and eventually we confessed feelings for eachother but we hadnt been talking that long so it wasnt like we were gonna jump into dating or anything... because he lived 45 minutes away from me so we only text and ft (still to this day... weve met up a few times tho) anyways not long after he got a gf and then kept her for 9 months. We were flirty every now and then when he was dating her But it was understood that hes with her and me and him werent gonna work out, so we stayed friends and now we are best friends years later.. he has a different gf hes had now for 10 months as of yesterday. Earlier in our friendship we were flirty but progressively get less and less as we matured and kind of accepted that hes with someone else and we are just friends.  The problem here is that because hes my crush, i find myself very careful about what i say or jokes i make because i want him to like me so bad... but i dont want that. I want to be completely comfortable with him Especially because i know we are going to be together so i just want to be the best friends we can be.  So what can i do to feel more comfortable and less scared of saying something wrong?

So when I'm talking to a friend and we're just talking, not actually doing any other activities, I tend to talk about everything that's going on in my life. They usually end up spending most of the time listening and asking questions pertaining to what I just said. I have all these exciting stories, all these different points of views on different subjects, and I'm talking enough for the both of us and keeping her engaged and interested in the conversation. When the day is over, and I reflect on the conversation I had with my friend, I honestly can't remember them saying anything about their life. A part of me is always very sad that all these conversations end up about myself. Maybe I'm just looking for a friend to bounce off my view of the world to find out more about myself like some sort of therapist relationship. The thing that baffles me the most is that I feel like a horrible friend for doing this and yet the people close to me still want to see me on a regular basis.  Ultimately I'm wondering, just how normal is this? Also what could be their motivation for keeping me as a friend?

When I get to know someone and they get to know me and we start to get close, I just all of a sudden feel uneasy or really grossed out. I don't want them getting close to me, touching me, knowing stuff about me. I get extremely uncomfortable and disgusted. Like with my family members, you're supposed to love them because they're your family, right? But if i talk to one of them for too long and we get along, again I get that uneasy, invaded feeling and i'll try to avoid them and distant myself. It's the same with my very close friends, friends that I trust with my life. I don't know what it is. Even with relationships, I'll know it'll never work out because if a guy starts liking me and wants to have more with me, I'll just freak out or runaway. It's happened so many times. It's hard for me to trust most people and let them in. If I do let them in, i feel violated in a way and afterwards it makes me mean to the people that care about me. I ignore them, ghost them, anything to get them away from me. Why do I feel like this? Helpful answers only please.

How to deal with a friend who betrays U.  She seems to be at her happiest now when she's fake laughing/giggling AT ME. She reached out twice, but started/still acts completely different(Went from quiet to loud in two days) & is still shady via social media.   I believe she reaches out over time to be "friends again" just to subliminally remind me of her role in the situation, while still claiming, she doesn't recall, still lying, acts innocent or blame alcohol. Or it's to stay somewhat close to once again plot on/laugh at me to make herself feel good/powerful.  She basically act like she didn't betray me, then twist a web of lies & had 3 older men bully me at work everyday while she laughed at me till I quit. Then text me "congratulations" All over a guy she claimed/still claims she didn't want.  What are your thoughts?

I'm trying to learn Mandarin Chinese and I've been studying for a quite while So I can read/write about somewhere HSK2-3 level Chinese. Anyway I found one Chinese girl on FB(she's in China btw, I think she use VPN to log into her FB account) she only can speak Chinese. Fast forward, we did little chat on FB's messenger and she ask me for wechat exchange so I agreed. She told me to send friend notification thingy to her so I did. And here's the problem. She didn't accept my friend notification fast enough so I really thought she was scam that trying to steal or do something with my WeChat account. It was suspicious to me. So I typed "if you trying to scam me I don't have any money on my WeChat account" something like that in Chinese. And at the same time I send that, she accept my notification on WeChat. And of course she was super mad and I apologize for my misunderstanding too. She said she'll forgive me but don't ever call her scam again. And I swear not to call her that anymore (I didn't mean to but you know..) and I really really apologize to her as best as I can. After that she won't text me back anymore since. I just wanted to have chat in Chinese so I can improve. I of course learned my lesson and I want to talk to her again but she never reads my text. So should I move forward and find someone else to chat? If so should I delete her from my WeChat account since she seems doesn't care to look at my text at all?

My best friend has been going days without even reading my texts then she replies apologizing. I don't know if I'm being overdramatic but like I love her so much and I feel like she doesn't like me anymore. If I talk to her about it she always reassures me. She says things like "I love you more than any of my other friends, I trust you more than anyone, I won't leave you" but ever since she got a boyfriend she started taking longer to reply, first it was hours, then a day, now it's been three and she still hasn't replied. Should I be worried? I don't know what's going on and she just doesn't reply. Maybe she's busy but she used to tell me at least or be like "oh sorry I gotta go, I'll text you later" now she just doesn't. Please help me, I hope it's fine :(

Due to the virus my best friend Got back her stimulus check which was 1,200 I didn't get mines right away which I kind of understand. When she got it I was happy for her I told her it was a blessing and that was good for her. But what pissed me off she kept rubbing it in my face she kept saying things like I'm so blessed that was a blessing got is so good to me. She then starts saying I got money now I can buy me a lot of stuff I need. I can get my hair did and everything this is what she said. Weird part she was talking about it all day I couldn't even talk about nothing else on my mind without her keep rubbing It in my face on how much money she got back. She then says I hope your not mad don't think I'm rubbing it in your face you'll get your check. It's just I felt like she was because it's like she's rubbing it in my face that she got hers and I didn't get mines Yet. I then got sad because I would never do such a thing she even went shopping in my face and didn't ask one time did I want something not even something to drink. And I went with her to cash her check and helped her grocery shop but she didn't ask did I want something out of a kind heart she then starts rubbing in how she's gonna have a good dinner Which I don't care but I feel like you should still offer. Was she really rubbing things in my face or no, help ?

I have a brother who is a little older than me but my brother is a big guy (over 6ft tall) he's also very muscular due to his intense workout routine and diet.  Whenever I have friends over to my house he always yell at me for bringing "strangers" to the house and he becomes very aggressive and hostile.  My friends sometimes says hi to him but he just ignores them and gives them an attitude.  My brother is grumpy but he isn't usually as aggressive and hostile as when my friends come. My friends aren't even bad people. My friends is a small group with a mix of boys and girls and We're all just anime fans who met at an anime convention and we talk about and watch a lot of anime together. They don't drink or smoke or have any criminal history or anything like that. And they're also very friendly and nice and easy to talk to. But my brother really hates them and he even forced them to leave the house once.  What can I do about my brother? I really care about him and I'd like for him to be friends with my friends. 

   Hey! So  in my apartment there are 2 other girls (3 of us total), and due to the pandemic the other 2 have left! However, I have stayed here. Nonetheless, the utility cost has went down ALOT, and I have called the respectable utility company (gas, water, electricity) for the base rates for my roommates to pay while they are gone. Nonetheless, the base rates are actually higher since I am not using much of the utilities since I am a real minimalist, and always out of the house....  The first month both roommates and I just split the bills by 3 since it was cheaper, but this month 1 roommates keeps saying it "doesn't make sense" for her to be paying utilities since she's not there. Therefore, I've told her NUMEROUS times to call me so we can discuss, yet she won't (like MANY many times in advance). Now, she waits until the DAY OF (of the bill being due) to say again how "this doesn't make sense", and only pays this SMALL fraction of the base rate/3 ( it's like $1-2 cheaper than us dividing by 3 + the base rates are for 1 person)... So I payed the $4 left on the account that is under my name and left the $7 on the account that is on her's (it will be LATE tmrw)... My question is, how can I manuever this? She is 27 (causing problems now) and I am 22, and my other roommate is 21...help?  The other roommate (who pays) and I will be moving units this July!

I'm 13 and my parents won't let me go hangout at the mall with my friends ( this was before corona) but they won't let me go to public school either cause they are Christians and most of the things my friends do my parents won't let me do. If me and my friend want to hangout they prefer us to hangout at my house and my dad doesn't like this one friend of mine to hangout with because he says she's wild but he hasn't even met her the only thing that they should think that she was wild is because she has a nose ring but other than that she's not wild . I feel like I don't have any freedom but is it just me or is it my parents ? Sorry if this was long or confusing and if there is any punctuation mistakes.

I'm not overly nice but I'm never rude. I get degraded for treating people nicely. But the reason I treat people kindly is because I know what its like to be mistreated. So I choose not to make people feel less about themselves. People have a problem with me being kind, it seems like they want me to be a b/itch towards them. Should I?

My best friend of 10+ years changed. It all started when she asked to take my student loan of 2k for something she needed. She promised to give it back to me even though, she owes her mom ten grand or more actually. She then asked if she could live with me in my living room with her dog that shits and barfs on the carpet. I am 20 and She is 21. The thing that really shocked me was when she asked to marry me. She told me that if I married her that she could keep her dog and we would get to have the benefits. I was not going to marry her for the wrong reasons. I think she's got some psychological issues. She has had a personality change. I can't understand how or why. She lies about everything all the time damn time. She only cares for her self. She uses people. She had tried to use me on different occasions for whatever she saw fit. How does this happen? I've wondered if she was on drugs or if her mental health is not okay at all. Why does she feel it's right to treat people like ****? Please help. I told her I will not marry her just so she can keep her dog when she enlists in the army. It's a crazy solution to a small issue. I want to help her and I don't know how. I told her I am on a friendship break with her. I think I need to cut ties with her for good. She wanted to marry me to get out of living in the barracks because she enlisted in the army. She thinks she can get an apartment off base only if she's married?????
