Question: Who will be the best man at Chris and Douglas's wedding? Posted: 07 Mar 2019 02:46 PM PST |
Posted: 07 Mar 2019 09:46 AM PST And it has been this way since childhood (my current girlfriend is my childhood best friend and I will propose to her soon). So long story short: gf and I come from working class family. My mom is an old-fashioned old woman with the typical eastern european mentality. My girlfriend is her ideal daughter. Mom cant help but point out my gf's qualities when I do something she doea not like. For instance: my gf is cute like a doll (and I cant help that I have this serious expression all the time and she looks like a child though she is 23). She has a degree, now works as an interpreter, and when she was a kid (like, 12 years old) cleaned and helped her mom cleaning locals and homes. She has worked part time in a factory when her dad was fired, and was for a while the only soirce of income in her family. At school she was bullied because everyone was jealous that a poor girl was the student with the highest grades. Despite everything, now she found her way. Once she found a child on the street, about 8 or 9. I said 'leave the boy alone, his parents must be gypsies who will want to find him'. No way, he was an orphan abandoned child she took home, fed and then took to a foster home and every sunday she goes to visit him and brings him chocolates, sweets, fairytale books and reads him or takes him for a stroll. Can you imagine that my mom tells this story to every single relative that comes to us on sunday for lunch? I feel so depressed everytime she compares us. |
Question: Was this funny or tacky? Your opinion please? Posted: 07 Mar 2019 09:13 AM PST I was at a wedding of a couple of my friends recently. They both have an unusual sense of humor. As the bride entered the back of the church, she was escorted down the aisle by her former husband. There was an audible gasp from the audience. When the minister asked who gives this woman ....... her former husband said I do. There was applause from the audience and some laughter. The theme of the wedding was out with the old and in with the new. Do you think that was funny or just plain tacky. |
