He hasnt been in my life for about 12 years now but I feel like he would want to be at his first daughters wedding. I called him a year ago and he mentioned getting together someday to talk but nothing ever happened. Should I send him am invitation? My step dad would be walking me down the isle since he has been taking care of me my whole life. But at the same point I kind of want him there to see how far I came without him. Is that wrong of me?

I am planning a wedding with my fiancee, and we really need some help. So my family has a bad history with alcohol, mean drunks, people who have sex EVERYWHERE when drunk, you know, those people who drink 2 bottles if wine and 10 beers by themselves and somehow havent died yet. My fiancee's family, on the other hand, all handle alcohol really well and know their limit. And they own an alcohol company so they all drink a lot, but know how to handle themselves and not be a dick. We thought maybe having people pay for drinks, but then realised that wouldn't be fair at all, since my family doesnt have a lot of money and his family does. We also thought about just not having a bar, but again we thought we couldnt really do that since in order to keep our family's from killing eachother (my family and his family hate eachother) there had to be alcohol involved. We know an open bar cant work because my family would just.... ugh. We thought that a Three-Free-Drink stamp card thing might work, maybe with the names in the cards might work, and after that you have to pay? We arent sure. Can someone help please?
