Question: Is my mum over the top/ short tempered? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 01:46 PM PDT She gets short tempered easily. More than she used to. She blames me for it. I'm 15. Like just now, I asked her if she could change the living room clock as I don't know how. I was expecting her to say no which is fine. I accept that. She said"I'm going to bed, I don't want this right now, all you're doing is sitting around, can't I do it another time". I then said "you don't have to it's fine" in a calm way. She then starts changing it and still moaning about it. Like why? Can't she just say no. She never can say no though as she always moans then gets me annoyed so we argue. When she keeps going on and says something like ******* hell, I say something like idiot because it's a human reflex. Or if she continues to, I swear aswell. She gasps like I've done something really bad. I barely swear in my life, I grow up in a society that swears a lot, she triggers me and she swears before me in an argument. I made her mother's day today really nice and helped her more than usual. My older brother was very annoying to her and arguing but she for some reason argues with me the most. He gets away with it because she thinks he's just being himself. So now she think I HAVE ruined her mother's day. Even though he was rude earlier and is most of the time. Is this just me? Is she going through menopause as she's 50 and has been like this for a few years. I want to talk about it as I can't take it. But she'll probably just blame me and say it's my fault. This really upsets me |
Question: Should I be honest with my parents? Will I be sent to hell for this confession? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 12:42 PM PDT Basically, I was on the app Discord, when it brought me to that restricted area for 18+. I am 13. I didn't think the first time it was bad, just memes with swear words. But really, showed inappropriate gifs. I feel really disgusting, but I couldn't stop scrolling up. I scrolled past maybe 20 before I deleated the app. Today I downloaded it back, and the same thing happened. This time I was still curious if there was anything on a new group I joined. There was. I went to my mom and asked if seeing those pictures were normal for a curious kid. She said no, and that I shouldn't be watching it. I wasn't really watching it...just confused, and grossed out. I don't know how to tell my parents this, because then they will go full out lock down mode. What should I do? I plan to tell my therapist tomorrow, but, was I really watching that content? Will I go to hell for this? |

Question: What should I do should I leave or should I endure this? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 11:10 AM PDT I've been married for 7 years with my husband we have 3 kids(7,7,3). His family has always disliked me and my children. My in laws never once called my children or me. Last oct on they're way to Mexico where they live. My FIL has to go to the ER to get a blood transfusion. It tuned out he had leukemia. So I agreed to let my MIL,FIL, and my brother in law with his wife and 2 kids stay with us till we figure something out. (Cost free) I have a small 900 ft home 3 rooms 1 bathroom. Having all of them wast enough my BIL took it upon himself to invite a friend to stay on our couch. That's 12 people living in one house. That not being enough my husbands 20 year old sister who was supposed to be in college got pregnant and is now also living with us. On top of that they've all have always lived together so they're close. My BIL kids constantly fight with mine to the point I don't let my children out to the living room. My MIL who has always disliked me and has always showed it constantly talks about me. When I've been the only one who knows English and I'm the one who has taken the wheel when it comes to my FIL cancer treatment, dr appts, pharmacy's. Translating everywhere. At this point my MIL, SILs have all stoped talking to me and get mad whenever I complain about them taking my clothes out of the dryer even if they're damp. At this point I just want to leave my home. I wouldn't make my husband choose because of his fathers situation but my DH allows us to get treated like crap. |

Question: My parents relationship is so toxic what needs to happen?? What’s wrong with my dad?? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 10:30 AM PDT My dad is so overly controlling and insecure. He gets mad at my mom for hugging her nephews or brothers and tells her to stop being so sexual with them. He thinks her nephews(my cousins) want to f*** her because they hug each other hello and goodbye (14year olds-upper 20s). He says they "hug too long" he thinks it's sexual for her to kiss her dad on the lips. They have always done that. He makes up scenarios about her being flirtatious and "too kind" to family members or just people in general. She is a kind person but she is so loyal my dad is delusional. It hurts me to se my mom go through this. They have been married for 35 years and she still goes through this. My dad sexualizes everything. He's insecure in my opinion. His answer to the problem is for him to stay home so he doesn't have to "see her do these things" even though she isn't doing anything wrong. He does it to me too about my uncles but I shut him down because he's so controlling and I won't let him mess with my head. But my mom has to live with this and I feel so bad for her. My dad doesn't think he has a problem, what do you think is exactly wrong with him??? Or how to fix someone who thinks so messed up ***I guess I did not add enough information based off the answers I am receiving so far that are very off.. please disregard this post if youre reading now. Unless you know how I can delete it then that would be very helpful :) |
Question: What’s your opinion on this? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 09:07 AM PDT So I was forced to move to another state with my mom. It's severely impacted my mental health and pushing me to suicide. My grandma said I can move back in with her but my mom said no because I'm too suicidal. I was so much happier when I lived with my grandma and my mom fails to see that I guess. Everyone I have talked to says I should move back since I'm so depressed and I agree. What do you guys think? |
Question: Why is my younger cousin such a brat? What do I do about it? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 08:08 AM PDT My younger cousin is a SUCH a brat. She's always been this way, and it hasn't bothered me that much, until last week she pushed me over the edge. So we were visiting Hawaii for spring break, and we were in the pool. We had three pairs of goggles that the younger one's were sharing. So basically, my (nice) cousin comes up to me and asks where her goggles are. I tell her I have no idea, so we look EVERYWHERE for them. I'm talking EVERYWHERE. My mother, father, uncle, and even my GRANDMOTHER looked around the pool, all around the grass, and inside the house. It seriously took us an hour. Next thing I know, my phone dings and I see I have a message from my dad that says "I think Logan (the bratty one) has the goggles. I ask her, but she says no. We continue searching. Next thing I know, the goggles fall out of her swimsuit and she's laughing like an idiot. Not funny man. This isn't all she's done. She treats the adults and me like crap. Threatens us and calls us names. It pisses me off because her mom thinks she's awesome and won't do anything about her behavior. I'm forced to babysit her like twice a month, and I have to babysit her in a few weeks. What do I do about her? She needs to learn her lesson. Whatever I end up doing, I won't physically or mentally hurt her. I don't want to be a brat like her :) |
Question: My 18 year old daughter smokes pot and I don’t know what to do.? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 07:52 AM PDT I love my daughter very much but she is a disappointment. She goes out with her friends to smoke pot and when I found out she smoked pot I told her not to do it again (she was 17) it was only a week after that I had caught her again with it and she has been grounded ever since. Since then she has been sneaking out at night when I am asleep to smoke pot with her friends. She is a compulsive liar and will never admit to smoking to me unless if there is proof (I have caught her quite a few times.) She has tried to reassure me telling me that it is something she does in her free time and that she is being cautious with it. |
Posted: 31 Mar 2019 04:39 AM PDT to you and make out like you're a failure and compare you to other people your age and say how they have cars and sh*t like I can do anything about that, it's THEIR fault my life is hell |
Question: If I am given something as a gift does that gift belong to the giver? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 04:11 AM PDT Ok time for some context I'm 24 years old i live with my parents because of reasons I'd rather not go into and when I turned 21 my dad gifted me a tablet as a birthday present. He is always threatening to break my tablet (for mundane and stupid reasons, my mom even agrees with me on that) and well I have a boyfriend that he doesn't know about because if he did...he would completely freak out. I've known this guy for ages and I'm gonna get to see him in june...but I'm afraid of my dad finding out because he's a huge control freak..even my mom doesn't want my dad to know....and if he did find out...well my tablet is my one way of keeping in contact with my boyfriend seeing as I don't have a phone...my dad would definitely break my tablet if he found out...after all like I said he's threatened to do so for lesser things....my question is...can he do that? Like legally...would he be allowed to do that? For all who think I'm just whining..I live with my parents because I have autism and my vision is bad enough were i can't get a driver's license...and trust me I've wanted to move out for years I haven't done so because when my brother did my dad tried to force him to stay And when that didn't work he tried to prevent him from packing..that somewhat worked..my brother was only able to pack a few things before leaving and my mom had to secretly bring him anything else he needed I stay because I saw how much it devastated my mother to see one of her children so desperate to get away that happened when my brother turned 18 he's 22 now and my dad still holds a grudge against my brother he gives my mom an attitude when she wants to talk to my brother in the phone Hell he won't even speak to my brother unless my mom shoved the phone in his hand and tells him to talk to his son and even then he only does it because he knows my mom would be angry with him if he didn't my brother left because of my father my mom and everyone else knows this but my dad won't accept it...he just blamed everyone else...cause his forbid my dad is ever to blame for anything...my brother left to get away from our control freak father...I stay to support my mother because she needs me...she only stays with him for my sister who is 15 She doesn't want my sister to have to deal with her parents trying to win custody of her....and trust me if it wasn't for those things...if it wasn't because I can't drive and my mom needs me for moral support..I would have left years ago..my autism isn't as bad as a lot of people who have it Hell I've already decided that if it when my dad finds out about my boyfriend..cause let's face it i can't keep that a secret forever he will probably find out eventually...but when that happens...I will leave I'll freaking hitchhike to ocala where my boyfriend lives of i have to..cause he has said if that ever happens I could stay with him...but I'll leave..my dad can throw a tantrum all he wants but if he finds out I'm not sticking around and letting him make my life a living hell I'll stand up to him..which I don't normally do because we keep the peace at home by biting our tongues, keeping our mouths shut, keeping secrets and never saying what's truly in our minds because if we do my dad looses his temper and makes everyone's life hell But I'd stand up to him for my relationship...even if it meant leaving and never coming back..even if it meant leaving my mom and sister to deal with his BS..I wouldn't be able to live under the same roof as my dad if he found out I can barely stand living here as it is i couldn't deal with that too..so yeah don't freaking act like I'm just whining cause until now none of y'all knew a damn thing about me or what my home life is like or why I stay And I just want to thank everyone who actually answered my question More info...cause Eva said his house his rules...it's not his house...it's his father's house...we live with my grandfather..because he asked us to...and before you say something like well your parents pay the bills so they make the rules...they don't pay any bills my gramps insists on doing all of that also the few things they do pay for like the payments on their car, gas money, groceries, Wi-Fi and cable bills and phone bills they use my social security check to pay for that stuff...which they say is cause I live there...so I guess that's how that works...like I don't use any of the money for anything like at all they've always used it I'm not really sure..they've never really explained it all to me..and whenever I have asked about how that works my dad just gets mad at me and tells me it's none of my business |
Question: I have two dads, can I celebrate Mother's Day? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 02:55 AM PDT I never knew my biological mother, as she was only a surrogate mother, but here where I am it is Mother's Day and a lot of my friends are celebrating it for their mothers. But I feel left out. Could I celebrate fathers day instead today? I never knew my dad's mothers. I have an aunt, but it'll be kind of weird if I celebrated the day for her. |
Question: How would you react to seeing your son with a woman? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 02:35 AM PDT My girlfriend is coming to my 20th birthday party. I'll be seated next to her and my best friend. My mom is going to see her. I've had A LOT of girls in the past but this one is different. We started as friends and it'll end in friendship |
Question: Why do i get these little moments of thought? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 12:59 AM PDT My best friend of 7 years holds a strong place in my heart, we have a special bond. She is my dearest friend. We live states away although we talk multiple times every day. We meet up atleast 3 times a year. I loev our conversation, our talks, just her spirit and soul along with her personality attracts my heart. I love her, she is my family. Although sometimes when i meet up with her on my vacations I wuestion, judging on looks i guess, how I get a long witth this person? How do i feel such a strong attachment to her and how can i love this person?.... I never judge on looks or anything, although, I have those moments sometimes. At the end of the day i love her unconditionally and with all my heart still. Is it weird that i get those moments at times? |
Question: Sexual thoughts, step-mother?!? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 12:22 AM PDT I'm (M16) and I need to quit thinking sexually about my (F40) step-mom who dresses in regular (non-revealing) clothing. Kudos... |

Question: How do i tell my dad that i don't want to be a doctor? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 09:25 PM PDT I used to tell him when I was little that I wanted to do that. I enforced it and fed into it for YEARS, and now that I'm 16 and I finally know what I want to do, I'm afraid of his response. I even told him once that instead of medicine I might want to go into research. He disregarded that totally and has tricked himself into believing that I still want to go into medicine. I don't want to do that. I want to be a veterinarian. I'm highly stressed out and I don't want to be a disappointment, but I know that when I tell him he'll be disappointed even if he says that he supports it. He probably won't even say that though--he'll say that he knows more than me, that he knows what I want to do and what I'll be good at. I've always been the smart, sciency kid. And I am, but not in the way he thinks. I've dug myself into a deep hole. I've done many medicine related programs in the past. How do I tell him? |
Question: Please help? Abusive mother? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 08:39 PM PDT Im 18, still live with my mom and it's just the two of us. I've spent my childhood being verbally and emotionally abused. I've never so much as drank or partied, I've lived strictly by her rules. Yet shes called me everything from a worthless piece of ****, f ing wimp, she hates me and wishes she had another daughter, ****, *****, stupid cow, you name it shes said it to me from a young age. Tonight she physically attacked me for the first time ever. I slammed a door after she yelled at me, she came back in and threw my head first onto the ground, pulled my hair, hit my face, put her hands around my neck and I fought back. She came at me 2 times tonight after that. I dont seem to have any marks for proof but also if I call the cops Ill be the homeless one. I have no place to go and no money. I don't know what to do? Don't say therapy, our relationship is completely beyond repair. |
Question: Would it be inappropriate to buy my grandma a cellphone for her birthday? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 08:19 PM PDT My grandma is gonna turn 96 on April 6th and I was thinking about buying her an iPhone, possibly the newest one. She has never had a cellphone before but I told my sister about the idea and she thinks it's inappropriate and a waste of money for a 96 year old. What do you think? |
Posted: 30 Mar 2019 07:49 PM PDT I want to be a model and I'm working hard for it but the problem is I live with my mom and little brother and I constantly have to be babysitting him. I want to get signed to an agency in new york and I live in NJ. If I get signed, I don't think I would ever pass up that opportunity to move to new york and it would be selfish of my mom to make me stay here just to babysit my stupid brother. I'm 15 |

Question: (Family drama) What else can we do to make them understand? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 05:56 PM PDT When my boyfriend and I had our son Boomer we knew that he would be our one and only child, so shortly after we had him I had my tubes tied and he got snipped. Since Boom's second bday both families have been hounding us to start making baby #2, even though they know that our son is going to be our only one. When we nicely remind them that we aren't going to have more kids we get called selfish for "denying" our son siblings. We've tried: • Hanging up • Blocking them • Leaving or kicking them out • Changing the subject None of those above are working and they are starting to piss me off to the point of wanting to kick them out of our lives until they get the message, but my boyfriend doesn't want to do that to our son. We both come from big families so maybe that's why? I just really need advice before I strangle one of them. |
Question: How to deal with a Lazy and disrespectful step dad? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 05:38 PM PDT My step dad is soo annoying. At first he was fine, but then he started getting lazier and lazier by the minute. Right after he comes home from school (he s a teacher) he would ALWAYS rant about how annoying the kids he taught were and he would curse at the students sometimes but he never got caught. After ranting about how awful his students were he would sit down on the couch and call me to get him food or water when I m doing homework. He s ONLY 39!! Yet he thinks he s 70! He hits my baby brother, his REAL son. And when he fell the the stairs my step dad did NOTHING and just told him to suck it up, while he sat on the couch watching old movies. My mom only stayed with him because we wouldn t have anywhere else to go. He pays electric bill while my mom pays for water bill, but my mom pays for all our insurance. He ALWAYS demands us to untie his shoe, he doesn t even know the meaning of Please . Help meee!!!! |

Question: I think one of my cousins stole my diamond ring what should I do? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 03:55 PM PDT A few days ago we were planning a trip to another city. I wanted to take the diamond ring with me but decided not to. My mother and I placed it (in the box) in the back of our drawer where it usually sits. The day we came back from the trip we invited our family members over. After. They left I went to find the ring and it was missing. We looked for two days and it's no where to be found. At first we though we misplaced but we both clearly remember putting it in the drawer. My cousin and I have had some minor issues before, but we have known each other our whole lives but aren't that close. He is constantly buying and reselling thing to make money. The ring was fairly expensive containing diamond and gold. The value isn't why my family is so upset. It was the only thing Me and my mother had from my grandmother who passed away. Should I confront my cousin even though I'm not sure he took it? We have had some discussions about how my mother is very upset and we've looked everywhere but scant find it. My cousins seems not to say much about the conversations. All these events have taken place on the span of a week. |
Posted: 30 Mar 2019 03:46 PM PDT I tried telling managers and they said that's just how she is. I know she hates me and I tried talking to her and she got worse and said Im not going to cut it here. I just started and I feel like shes just an angry uptight person. The people in her department act like her too. Now she's lying to other bosses saying I can't read. And has people spy on me and invent crap to gossip about as if trying to get me fired. I told her I am trying my best. She said it's not good enough. Honestly she has OCD and acts like a different person around me. But is nice to her clicks |
Question: What’s the point in having children? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 03:22 PM PDT They're expensive and wear you out and take up your time. Then after college, they move away. I don't see the benefit. |
Question: Why does my dad blame me? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 03:15 PM PDT Whenever something bad happens, my dad likes to blame me and my brother for no reason. For example, some guy broke into our house and my dad blamed my brother and I for never checking if the door is locked, but we always check the door and make sure it's locked all the time. He continued to blame us and just said we got lucky and got really mad at us for no reason. Also, when we got into a car crash, he continued to blame me and told us it was because we went on a different street than the one we usually take. |
Question: What should I do if my mom is really mad to the point of barely saying anything to me? Posted: 30 Mar 2019 02:54 PM PDT So, each have different accounts on what happened based on what she told my Brothers. So i had a shirt I wore for 2 days and then it went missing, my mom put it to wash. So next time I wore it, went to work and came back to have it missing again, same reason so I asked why but she dodged the question or said some excuse that it stinked. She never washed anything I wear after 1 or 2 days but this was somehow different, that's what I thought. She then said if I mention it again shed throw something at me, so I asked calmly & she started throwing a magazine and a small remote. They hurt and i asked her to stop. I threw the fan remote in a completely different direction and she thought I was throwing it at her which I would never do. She then started hitting me with a small plastic desk light and she stormed out. She came back and brought the shirt in question and tore it. 2 days later she is still angry. What she told my brothers is that I got mad and threw something at her and she got scared. Not one bit of my story is false. I may have been annoyed but not mad and no way violently mad. I don't want to say anything to not make it worse. By my story, she is in the wrong, the throwing, the hitting which i still feel but according to her I got mad and threw something at her so I'm in the wrong. What can I do? This has never happened before. My bros say apologize but I think she won't want to hear it. Shes nice to everyone but silent mad when im around. |
Posted: 30 Mar 2019 01:38 PM PDT I am a man in my 50s but when I was in my 40s I used to tell my mother that she looks like a chicken after she cooks a dish containing chicken meat. And I used to tell my mom that she looks like a cow after she cooks a dish containing beef. Why did I use to tell my mom these things? What's the deal with that? |
