Question: Is my best friend jealous that I’m a mom? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 05:36 PM PDT My best friend from college and I have grown apart ever since I had a baby two years ago. It pains me. She moved to NYC around that time and is very focused on her career. But I think it's more than that. She's always wanted to have a child, and I think she may be jealous that i have one which is why I don't hear from her much anymore. How should I navigate this? |
Question: Are we just friends? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 05:11 PM PDT So I graduated and a female friend who was close to me congratulated me and sent me a loooong text about what she liked about me and how I made her feel and she would miss me. I said thank you and wished her all the best. Then randomly one day she sent a rant about how she thought I had not given her proper attention by not sharing all my stuff and not introducing to my friends and even not hanging out with her. Does she want to be friends or is she asking for more? |
Question: Should I abondon my crush/friend or try to keep the friendship? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 02:21 PM PDT I have had a massive crush with my best friend for 2 years now. I've known him for 4 years. He doesn't return the feelings. And it hurts, and it's heartbreaking. I want to keep the friendship, but that hurts too. Every time he talks to someone else, or even worse talks to a girl, I feel so jealous. It gets to the point where I want to throw up. I've tried cutting him out. I've tried not talking to him. But I still can't move on. But then I start to miss all the great times we have had together, as friends. Should I go back to being friends? Even though it will hurt? Or should I just accept that we had a good 4 years, and try to move on? Will that hurt even more? Thank you |
Question: All of my friends turned against me at school, what do i do? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 01:46 PM PDT i'm a senior in high school, girl. i've had a great few friends almost my entire time in high school. yet last month, they all turned against me. i found out my "best" friend was talking about me behind my back and when she found out i knew she texted me and tried to say it was my fault. after that our entire friend group turned against me. they make fun of me and talk about me all day even if i'm next to them in class. i can handle it, but it still hurts and i cry almost every day.. any advice? |
Posted: 19 Mar 2019 12:32 PM PDT I recently started dating my boyfriend who is my very best friend and I love a lot. We see each other at work 3 times a week and have been spending most weekend nights together because we do not get to see each other often. My best friend and I go to the same school and have almost every class together. Her boyfriend also goes to the same school and spend everyday plus time on weekends together. The other day when I invited my boyfriend to hang out with me, her and our other best friend, the two got very mad and claimed that I spend too much time with him, even though there was no objection when I invited him along. My other best friend dislikes my boyfriend because of behavior he exhibited when they first met, which he corrected after I spoke to him. He has been friendly any time we have gone out since. This friend has repeatedly invited us over her house only to get on the phone with a friend from school or ignore us to do schoolwork. I would like to remain friends with both of them, but I feel as if they are inconsiderate about my relationship. I know that they could just want to spend more time with me, but it seems to revolve around their own schedule and they get mad when I can't attend, it seems without thinking that I could have made plans already. It feels like they blame me or my boyfriend for things we cannot control. Are they toxic? Should I cut them off or do I just confront them with my feelings? How would I do that? |
Question: Should I confront my colleague? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 12:29 PM PDT In February I started a new job, and am still learning a completely new and difficult system. This colleague has sat with me a couple of times to explain things. Today I heard him speak with someone from another team, about new people starting. He basically thinks that they make mistakes and aren t as capable as people who have done this for years. Then he said my name, that I when he was letting me try I was just going to follow the system and asked him if I should or not. I wasn t sitten that far, so could hear him talk. I felt really angry, because like I said I m new, I m still in training most of the time to learn this. I m not sure what to do now, should I confront him about this tomorrow? |
Question: Why can people be mean to me but I can't be mean to them? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 12:24 PM PDT Mean people can say whatever they want to me but people tell me I can't say anything to them. I have to "stay in my place" because I can't "handle it". It's like I have to do what mean people say. I have to go where mean people tell me I belong. I can't do what mean people do. I have to be alone and suffer because mean people tell me I have to. It's not fair. I feel powerless. I don't know what to do. No one will help me. They think I deserve to be treated this way because I'm weird and nice. Are they just bullying me because they don't like me? Or is it some people just can't do what other people do because they're weak? |
Question: What can I do to help a friend who lost her son on his birthday five years later? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 11:37 AM PDT I made a video tribute in high school in memory of a 20-year-old graduate who had just died and who I never knew. Because of this video, I met his mother and we ended up becoming very close. It has been seven years since he died but his loss is still obviously very difficult for her. Since today would have been his 28th birthday, I would like to do something for her, but I'm not sure what since I didn't actually know him. I was thinking I might take her a cake, but I just really don't know. Any ideas? Side note: I'm only twenty so I don't have very much money to spend on this :/ Some things I didn't really think were relevant but apparently are: I was asked to make the video for a memorial service at our school. His mother and I are family now. I have gone to her oldest son's wedding, she drives several hours to visit me at school, and I am flying out to visit her at her new home this summer. She and I both believe that God us together to help us overcome the many obstacles in our lives. So please respect that and understand I'm not some rando. |
Posted: 19 Mar 2019 11:11 AM PDT I've been a loner now for 2 years which is ok. I work out at the gym and play ball. I go to bars and I can see the same old drunk regs which I don't want to make friends with. I'm going to start to change it up when I go out. I do find bars a good way to get out and meet people but not a way to make friends. I think a lady friend would be different. I thought about signing up for a dating site. I work with a small group of people. So its hard to make friends. I just think the only way is to get out there and date. It will be easier to meet people because then I can make friends with her friends. I don't want to do meetup.com. I'm good with going to sport bars and bars that have bands. My social skills are fine I just don't see me making good long lasting friendships from a bar. In te past I met friends throgh other friends. |

I have night classes so whenever I get back he's there and I just want to shower, get in my pjs and chill and do work. His presence just makes me uncomfortable. Now I dread going to my room. I don't know how to bring this up with my roommate because she is a good friend of mine and I don't want her to be upset. |

Question: Should I cancel a big party, or get a new best friend? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 07:29 AM PDT I live in a small town, with mostly old people. And I have two friends that are moving away soon, I'm having a big party and I invited a ton of people. It will cost a lot of money, and I originally wanted a Boston Terrier for this occasion. My parents are giving me a choice, get a new best friend or don't cancel the party. I don't know what to do, I REALLY want a Boston Terrier, it's been my dream. But I also don't want to call everyone and tell them that the party was canceled because of a dog. I could always get the Boston Terrier and still see my friends, it's just the birthday party will be canceled for everyone else. just canceled the party, thanks to the top comment i'm getting a dog! |
Question: Guys what does it mean when you put your arm around a woman? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 06:44 AM PDT I went out with this guy and we left our coats in the car when we went to the arcade. So when we were leaving out it was cold outside. And I told him it was cold and he put his arm around me. |
Question: What’s wrong with me? Posted: 19 Mar 2019 05:03 AM PDT A while ago I had this friend who use to sexually harass me. Lol i don't even know if he's a friend or not. He'd do it everyday and didn't care if i asked him to stop. To be honest we got along really well. We'd laugh a lot together. There are times I tell myself this person is really nice and other times he'd make me wanna milk myself. There are times he'd not just harass my physically but bully me. Whenever i look back and think about the moment I tell myself I should've just left or told him to Stop. But being in the moment is hard. He'd do it everyday, and i couldn't handle him myself so I eventually told the school councilor about him. He changed and seemed really depressed after I told the councilor. I hate being that person who does that to him. But at the same time he did lots of stuff to me. Eventually he left the school and I can't stop thinking about him. I just wanna go up to him and tell him i'm sorry. |

Question: How do I make my friend accept my apology for cyberbullying her? Posted: 18 Mar 2019 09:21 PM PDT My friend Kate and I got into a fight during the winter break and I decided to make a SC profile of this guy that she liked. Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:54 PM PDT I think they wish I was sick like them. Additionally, they always ask if my Mom is ok, (she's 90), like they expect her to be sick or worse, be dead! I think they are envious she is still alive and doing well. I have anxiety after phone conversations with them. I recently had a friend who died after a 5 month battle with a rare cancer and some of her final words to me were, "Wait 'till you get sick!,". Like she was wishing it on me! I don't know how not to get upset with these people? |

Question: Would it stop being weird? Posted: 18 Mar 2019 06:55 PM PDT A week ago my best friends came to visit at my new apartment. They helped me out painting and they stayed for the weekend, we cooked, drank, it was great since I haven't seen them since we left for college and that was years ago. We catched up, we used to talk on the phone but not that much because obviously we where busy building our life's. One of my friends stayed longer than the weekend, and she helped me out in everything. It was last Monday and we where having wine, we where talking about our ex's and she kissed me. I don't know if she was drunk or what, me being the douchebag I always been, I kissed her back and we started making out along with touching and pulling but nothing far. The next day everything was weird, quiet, she wouldn't look me in the eyes. I apologized for what happened but still she's acting really weird. Would she stop acting weird and be my best friend or will she stop being my best friend, I really want to talk to her about it, but she's being avoiding me. Any girl out there with an advice for this guy? I think I like my best friend, I felt something for her. |
