The reason that it was secret is because her mom didn't agree with it because I am half black and was threatening to all but disown her if we dated. Looking back I should have had more respect for myself, but i really liked her and she really seemed to like me. She eventually called it off. She was not able to separate with her mother for me. We agreed to stay good friends like we were before, but over the months she seems to have become a bit distant. There are some valid reasons behind it. She does work quite a bit, has other friends of course, and spends time with her family, but a lot of time I have my doubts. When we were just friends, before all the relationship stuff, she would talk to me all the time, and we would also hang out a lot. Also she's the type of person who is always busy, and that had never stopped her from keeping close before. I feel like she's growing distant for a reason and I want to know why, but I don't know if its all in my head or if I have valid evidence. I also have it in my head that maybe she already got what she wanted out of me and is just done with me. Especially now that she knows her mom would never approve. I don't want to lose a good friend, but if she really is trying to distance herself, and nothing I do can help, maybe I should just let it happen? Suggestions? |
