Question: How to convince my parents for something? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 01:38 PM PDT My mom took away my phone "permanently." However I do something and get in trouble she always says "And I was about to give you back your phone." At this point I'm not sure when I will get it back but I want it soon. How can I convince her to give it to me? |
Question: Why can't I properly love my parents? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 01:16 PM PDT It's not like they're abusive, because they're not, but I fail to properly feel the love behind the "I love you" I tell them. In the past, they weren't all that great, especially when together, but things have gotten...okay. I used to love them, but now (I'm fourteen) I can't really say that I love them, nor would I really care if something happened to them. How can I help myself out of this?? |
Question: Will my mom find out i did this? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 01:16 PM PDT so she said i could order a 30 dollar thing on her credit card for my computer but it was 80 dollars because i ordered a better one and made shipping one day so im scared she'll find out, will she? |
Question: Am I considered "spoiled"? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 12:38 PM PDT Hi, I am 18, a guy. I want to know if I'm considered "spoiled". so mid September I got a job at Target. So far I bought an iPhone XS Max, MacBook Air, and AirPods. I also bought my dad and I tickets to see Queen and Adam Lambert at the SAP Center as my dads Christmas/birthday gift. I currently drive my step moms 2016 GMC Yukon Denali. My dad works for Uber in San Fran and my step mom is a lawyer. just to clarify, my dad is NOT an Uber driver, he works for them in the office. am I concidered spoiled? My step mom likes to upgrade her cars every few years. ok John, It would be nice if you can quit answering my question. |

Posted: 16 Mar 2019 08:13 AM PDT She does this every time I upload my resume online. She has also asked me for favors, thinking that I'm stupid. Also, she wants to know everything about me, such as the board exams that I take, and hides all sort of info about herself. When I don't give her details, she starts her bullying. |
Question: Should I learn things on my own when my sister wanted to do it with me? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 07:47 AM PDT I've been wanting to learn a new language (Korean), and so does my sister, so we were taking random free online classes together, but lately she hasn't been wanting to as much. I found an app that's apparently really good, and I'm not sure if I can use it without her, but I feel like if I don't I'll never learn anything because of her commitment issues. |
Posted: 16 Mar 2019 07:08 AM PDT I hate my mother and wish she would die, she's toxic, vile, blames everyone for not helping her when they do, she's disgusting towards random people, disgusting towards her own family, nasty attitude, mouthy, slags everyone off 24/7 and is abusive towards me. I would move out if I could afford to. Thanks to her and her sh*tty genes too I get the bad genes as well. How do I deal with this/her? |
Posted: 16 Mar 2019 05:54 AM PDT ...how do you think that would effect her growing up? (daddy issues, etc.) |
Question: Is my family taking advantage of me? Posted: 16 Mar 2019 04:52 AM PDT Recently got a new job and moved out to the same city as my brother's college. He moved in with me. I hated the apartment but it was close to his school, but not my work. but he'd never get to class otherwise. Parents said theyd pay 50/50 on rent. Its been 8 months and Im really hating the situation. My brother seems to have no respect for anything I own and has broken a lot of things ranging in value. He doesnt clean and only offers to cook when he gets tired of what I can make. He refuses to grow up and realize that I've actually moved out of the house and this is not a dorm situation. He refuses to get a job. My parents were fairly consistent with rent for the first few months. Then money got tight at home and they asked that I hold on until my brother's loan money came in and they would send me that back-pay. No problem, my salary could cover the full rent, but my small cushion is gone. They never paid me back for those. This month they said that they couldn't pay rent at all because my student loans were about to come in and they weren't sure how much they were. This was fine too because they're loans they took out for me, so they could deduct the payment from rent. Later they said that the payments were not as much as they expected, a lot less than their half of the rent, but never gave me the difference. I don't have much power in this situation. I can't argue with them and feel horribly guilty about even complaining. I want to start my own life but feel tied down. |

Question: Am I a bad person for feeling this way? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:58 PM PDT While living in the Southern US, Alaska is quite far away. My dad is a retired pilot who now works as a Locksmith to support his family. Crazy right? How do you go from planes to keys?? Anyways, he was recently offered a job in Alaska to fly as a pilot again. He is so excited, and I am very happy for him!! But, this means I won't see him as much at ALL anymore! In fact, he'll be gone 2 weeks, and then come back for 2 weeks, and then it starts all over again... Would I be a completely terrible person if I told him how scared I am? About him leaving, being so far away and the threat of quite possibly never coming home... I don't want to ruin his plans—I mean, he's SO excited! But I recently found out he's actually leaving in two days!!!!! I cried myself to sleep when I heard... So, I'm asking: 1.) Am I a terrible person for feeling this way?? And 2.) Should I tell him how I feel?? |
Question: My sisters left my mom? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:40 PM PDT Hi, My name is Adam im 12 and I decided to come here because I dont really know where else to talk about this, so basically i have a family (My mom, dad, two sisters, and I) and around 3 years ago my two sisters left my mom 1 left to live in Florida and the other in new jersey but recently they both went to Florida my mom has been really sad im pretty sure she is depressed she cries about it constantly and it breaks my heart to know that my mom wanted to spend time with them and you know go shopping watch movies together girl stuff but 1 of them left at 21 and the other at 18 the 21 year old (Dania) was a tomboy she liked video games hated dresses and makeup and doesnt like doing girly stuff so my mom didnt do much with her and the 18 year old (Leila) got caught talking naughty to some loser that constantly gets arrested and it often on probation so my dad forbid her to wear anything above her knees or below her neck she couldnt wear makeup, she couldnt wear earings all that stuff then at 18 she left and i dont know what to do i wish i could just get them all together and everything will be fine but life isnt a movie i guess |
Question: Help My Stepmother thinks I am depressed how do I convince her that I am depressed? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 09:01 PM PDT I am 16 years old and, live with my dad and stepmother. My Stepmother has been in my life since I was 4 years old. She said that I stopped communicating with her and my dad overnight. she read something in my diary that i wrote out of anger and it really upset her than she showed it to my dad. Now my dad is convinced that i am depressed. They are talking about making me go to counseling and my stepmother wants us to go to family counseling. Something has been bothering me but I don't feel like talking about it at this time but I am not depressed. How can i convince her that I am not depressed? Should I just tell what is bothering me? |

Question: My brother's wife had a baby today. How do I tell the world? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 07:46 PM PDT |
Posted: 15 Mar 2019 06:26 PM PDT Today's my birthday.. Yesterday as i was rushing out of the house my dad had asked me if I needed some money to get anything for my birthday, I said yeah and that we'll talk about it tomorrow as I was kinda late for school. Today I asked him if that money offer is still on... He said "why? What do you want?"...." ummmm.. A cake?! "... He said" alright how much does the medium sized cake costs?" I told him about 15$ or something. You know what he told me "alright we'll get the smaller one" i just stood there didn't know what to say, and went out of the room! I'm used to to him not offering me money but since he did without me asking for it, I believe he could've said something else! My dad had a stroke 2 years ago and ever since he can't walk nor speak like he used to, so I excuse him alot but I was really hurt by this today. You guys probably think it's nothing but Idk why I'm thinking too much about it.... |
Question: My father...can't live with him...well you know...? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 05:59 PM PDT I love my dad, but...he keeps saying that I need to find a new job! My church says it's mandatory that I go there every other week despite my protests! My old man keeps egging me on finding another job...but it doesn't end there...he wants me at the house every single Sunday! It wouldn't be bad if it was every other week or just a few hours...but I'm there until 10 at night sometimes! I feel that he's a co-dependent person and DOES wants me to move-back home! It's been 2 1/2 years since I lost my mom and...I think he wants me to stay at his house and move-back home! Why does his encouragement sound like discouragement? |
Question: How can I help my parents financially? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 05:56 PM PDT My parents are struggling to make money without me and my sibling raising ourselves. (I am 16 my brother is 17) I have a part time job (on top of full time school), but Im barely making any money too. We're all struggling to keep our heads above the surface and I don't know what to do about it. My dad already works every from 4 am to 8 pm. My mom works from home, which is good, but shes thinking about getting a full time job. Is there anything I can do? I hope I dont seem like im complaining, I'm not. Just extremely worried. |

Question: Am I wrong to be cranky and frustrated with not having time to relax? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 02:37 PM PDT I'm a senior in college, and am home for Spring Break; I had a really stressful two weeks leading up to break, as I was studying for/taking mid-terms. I was also dealing with familial stress; my Mom had surgery, which mentally put her in a hole from anxiety and depression. I got home under the impression that she was better, only to find that she wasn't. The day after I got home, she and my Dad went to a specialist, and my Mom was prescribed meds; that night was when I started being the errand runner and driver. The past week has been spent going out with my Mom to run errands, every single day. I'm driving, making sure that she's still able to walk (the meds make her stoned), and dealing with her frustration with me when she feels that I'm 'not doing enough to help'. I am exhausted. I'd wanted to come home to relax, and not do anything. Today is the only day that I've been able to do something for myself, and even then I was limited on time to do so because I had to drop-off/pick-up my Mom somewhere. Tomorrow is the last day that I'm here, and I have to pack and get ready to go. My Mom stated making comments today about how I've been cranky, and how she's upset with it because these are the last few days that I'm here. I told her that it's because I'm tired, and she told me I was still not right to be that cranky, and that I didn't have to take her out (which, yes I -willingly- did because I want her to get better). Am I wrong to be tired, and cranky from all of this? |
