Question: Is my mom abusive? I don't know what to do.? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 12:33 PM PDT Aside from the fact that she used to beat me up as a child, she constantly takes her anger out of me. She's always angry. I'm terrified of her. She gets angry at insignificant things, like if I accidentally spill a drink. She called me and my dad cruel, emotionless scumbags because we didn't give her money for botox? She has the money to pay for it. I honestly don't know what to do, this happens 2 times a week and she doesn't listen to anything, she just gets more and more angry. I can't take this for at least 5 more years. Please help, I'm so desperate. |
Question: I hate my stepsister what should I do? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 12:25 PM PDT About a year ago, my mother got remarried for her third time. (first was fine, second was terrible, this one seems to be good). I have grown a pure hatred for my step sister. She is 16, 2 years younger than me. She is lazy and doesn't go to school. I can relate to this because I skipped tons of school, but I self studied and got good grades. She doesn't and has failing grades, which actually angers me. My mother yelled at me so much for skipping school and I was disciplined for it with punishments. My step dad doesn't punish her though. She is a sexual deviant. She has already had sex (UNDER A MORMON HOUSEHOLD) and has gotten in trouble with sending pictures to people online. She is obsessed with drama, it's all she talks about (I hate drama). She has actively disrespected my mother and her own father, two people I have tons of respect for. She has tried to paint me and my mother as bad people to everyone to her family, but it didn't work. My mother was painted as intrusive and rude, but she is actively not disciplining her because she doesn't want to intrude and even listens and gives advice to her stupid drama. I was painted as someone who always puts them "on edge" when I'm around, but I'm a socially awkward person who has actively avoided them because I have a fear of anything I do being used against me (I have issues from being bullied in school). I have never hated someone more in my life, and I hate how she gets support from her step sisters in anyway. |

Question: Is it selfish that I try to avoid talking about my mom who died from cancer? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:38 AM PDT Even when my own dad talks about her, I just stay quiet and try to change the subject. It's not that I don't miss her but I just want to move and try to forget. I'm not sure if it's just me being in denial or my own coping mechanism. Advice. |
Question: How do I explain this to my parents? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 10:15 AM PDT whilst my parents were out I downed half a bottle of "fireball" whiskey. they are coming back soon and are bound to notice half of it is gone. I am 14 and currently sober at the time of writing this. |

Posted: 15 Mar 2019 06:26 AM PDT Im stuck in some dead end town because I was desperate to leave my mom's house. We talk of moving together but now I'm not sure shes for me anymore. She's been too comfortable and letting herself go appearance wise and moods. I feel lije im not happy w her anymore and sge doesn't change I can't stand the hoarding either. I HATE my job. I made way more money in the city. It's very boring where I live. I'm not perusing my career. I'm sick of cleaning the hoarding over decades from her family. She's old. Doesn't look hot anymore like before. What should I do? Im afraid to leave and regret it. Do I love her too much? I feel desperate to have meaningless sex with women my age. |
Posted: 15 Mar 2019 06:18 AM PDT I feel like I have no self esteem. I'm in a miserable relationship also. I can't afford counseling but I do have a job. I'm just afraid to quit my relationship right now but I feel like I had it made living at home except for the daily drama from my mom and family. I had to cut off ties because of verbal abuse. It's just that I could have got a free computer and big screen tv. |
Posted: 15 Mar 2019 04:28 AM PDT I found some pokemon boxers that I really like, and am thinking about buying them, but my parents most likely won't let be buy them so I'm thinking of buying them without telling them but I don't know how I can make sure they don't know I bought them. |

Question: Starting which age it becomes inappropriate for a girl to sleep near her father? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 02:26 AM PDT 2 years ago my ex left me and my 2 daughters aged now 6 and 8 to start a new family. Now they are all I have. I requested from them to share the same bed with me at night so that I don't sleep alone in the room. At which age they should sleep in their own room? I think it is ok as along as they are not mature yet, so maybe when the older becomes 10 or 11 they can do this transition, does this make sense? My ex is annoyed from this and suggested that they sleep in their own room from now, but she doesn't know about the loneliness I feel inside and how the girls I meet reject me just because I am a single father who is fighting is way to survive between hard work and paying the bills and raising two daughters on my own. |

I was mad because he encouraged me to do something I didn't want to do and thought was right not to do. I got injured as predicted, and he was caring for me but I told him to shut up. Posted: 14 Mar 2019 09:57 PM PDT I m 17 years old and I m in the boy scouts. I had an increase of homework in the past week, but I also got a email about my eagle project I plan to do, but I have to call them. On Thursday, my dad asks me to call them, but with the amount of homework I have I didn t have time so I planned to call them Friday morning. My mom comes home and he starts yelling at her for something. Before my dad drove me out to guitar lessons he started yelling at my youngest brother so I knew i was gonna be next because I was going to be alone with him in the car. I told him I was going to call the organization tomorrow and he starts yelling at me saying, "Don t go to school and get a job, you don t care about school anyways." To defend my position I throwing facts at him saying that I m trying my best at school. He responds by saying "Then why the f*** are you getting 70 s, I know everything about you and you re a lazy piece of s***." My report card averages are from 87-90 and the only class I have a 75 at is AP calculus which I m struggling with at the moment. His habits and attitude towards me has changed and I know very well he s gonna be like this tomorrow what do I do? |
Question: Should I become a ft Dental Hygiene student living rent free under my mom at age 26/27? Posted: 14 Mar 2019 09:22 PM PDT I am this 25 but still living with my mom rent free. After being attacked the doors opened for me in the office world finally. I make at best 25k a year right now. In a year I could potentially pay off all of my credit card debt and build a nest egg. My dilemma starts when I think about how much a year I am making, how long it took to get my foot in just the door, and if it warrants a career change before it s too late to turn to my mother for support. I could climb the ladder at my job, but how long would it take and how much would I make? Then there is Hygiene. I see they make on average 75 k a year if ft/working two pt jobs. To think I could increase my income by that much is really enticing. As old as I am I am still young and have the support from my mother and have the ability to go for it. But should I? I regardless right now have things to settle and debt to pay, but when the time comes, is it an opportunity that I should take? It looks like a worthy investment, but it makes me feel shameless to think about relying on my mother even more than I have. |
Question: How to deal with my mother? Posted: 14 Mar 2019 08:06 PM PDT I'm visiting my grandparents house with my mom (she's 57 y/o btw). I was forced to come and now I'm losing the first months of my last year of high school. Even before, she had started to belittle me, telling lies to my grandparents about my behavior and what i like. She almost caused a scene when I was going to buy some things in the store and she told my grandma that I didn't like anything and we should go, she grabbed me by the arm and I had to throw the items so the alarm wouldn't go out. Her behavior is making me insane to the point that I started to write everything she does + time and place. edit - Sorry for the spelling mistakes, i dont speak english very well |

Question: How to deal with toxic adult sister? Posted: 14 Mar 2019 06:11 PM PDT At the moment, I have to live with a sister who is severely narcissistic and anxious. I am by no means a psychologist; however, my sister will go from "normal" to "enraged" over the slightest of inconveniences. Here's an example. I came home from work today, and wanted to shower. My sister stayed home, from morning til evening, doing nothing. At 7pm, I walked into the bathroom and locked the door, only to hear a knock. It was none other than my sister, who wanted to shower at the exact same minute as I did. Did it matter to her that she literally had the house to herself for 8 hours? No. Normally, if I want to shower and the bathroom is busy, I'll just wait. But my sister doesn't think that way. She must have her way, come hell or high water. We literally stood at the door for 10 minutes arguing. I closed the door, to take a shower. A minute later, I hear the door lock being jimmied. She literally unlocked the door while I was naked, just to have her way. She begins screaming profanities, as if this is the end of the world. "You think I won't fight you, *****? Get the **** out of my face!" she says. Even though she's the one who approached me. Please. I need help. How should I handle the situation? |

Question: How might I get my Dad to find a new wife now that my Mom died last November? Posted: 14 Mar 2019 03:44 PM PDT I want a new Mom as it has been a few months and I want to move on. |

Question: Why do I feel more safer and protected with my mother than with my father or boyfriend? Posted: 14 Mar 2019 03:00 PM PDT I feel more protected when i'm with my mom then with my dad or boyfriend even though they are men and she is a woman. I always feel unsafe when my mother isnt near, i'm a mama's girl, we are very close and always have each others back. I love my mom very much, she is like a lioness that would kill for her cub, dad isnt that much protective, neither my boyfriend perhaps thats the reason why I feel more safe around mom. Does anyone else here feel the same? |
Posted: 14 Mar 2019 05:48 AM PDT My son is 18 and just started his new job a couple of weeks ago. Problem is that it seems he doesn't really want to work. He's always complaining about how he's tired and doesn't feel like going to work. I told him " news flash buddy nobody wants to go to work. If you were living alone with that mentality everything you would be cut off and the electricity bill folks wouldn't want to hear you couldn't go to work because of being tired. Nobody wants to work but everybody has to". He's trying to get a car because I'm tired of driving him everywhere but he'll never be able to get a car if he keeps taking off. He missed work the other day because he claimed he was sick. All he had was a little minor cold. Took him the doctor and the same day he went to work out at the gym. I told him if he can go to the gym he most definitely better not be talking about how he's too sick to work. His mom was furious and told him he wasn't allowed to go anywhere with his girlfriend this weekend since he missed work. I don't know whT his problem is. We can't take care of him forever he better get some pep in his step. My wife ( his mom) doesn't want to go to work either but the difference is that she's been working for about 30 years, he's young and just getting started. |
