I can understand speaking about hot men and women with your buddies...but with the person you say you "really like" and barely getting to know? I believe that when an older man does this to someone they're barely getting to know/dating, it is done out of insecurities. They are trying to bring the woman down because they feel inadequate about themselves or trying to look desirable (e.g. "Hey, I have options if you don't want me!"). It can even be done to see if the girl gets jealous and this "verifies" to the man that she likes him. I can say the same for women who do this to men. (I've been guilty of this, I admit) I was dating a man like this 2 weeks ago and he would do this. He also blurted out that I was a 2 on the 1-10 "hot meter." I asked if he was trying to ruin my self-esteem. He said, "No, many people don't even make it on the hot meter." Some people might think he's just being honest...but would you tell your boss you think his wife is a zero? You know...cuz you're honest and all. Nope, these people pick and choose their target. At my old school I had really good friends In and out of the marching band. Unfortunately, because of the drive, school, and other activities, we have only been able to talk in person once. I also am still deeply invested in the marching band, but haven't seen their show this year. The good thing is, they are hosting a competition this Saturday, where I can see their show and talk to friends. The only problem is that the competition is on the same day and time as the Homecoming dance at my current school. In the past, this would have been an easy decision, go to the competition, but this year I have encountered a problem, love, or at least the hope for love. In the time I have attended my new school,I have fallen in love with a girl. Now, I had said the hope for love because we are not dating. We are however, good friends. For example, we get along very well and talk often, we sit at lunch together with two other friends, we share most classes, and, oddly enough, I live next door to her grandparents, who she stays with sometimes, and I am friends with. I know that she is single, but not if she is interested in me as a boyfriend, so I was thinking about asking her to homecoming. Question: should I ask her to homecoming and not go to the competition, or go to the competition and wait for Prom? |

Talks about how incredibly hot his substitute teachers were back in the day 3. How ugly girls in his generation are "freaking hotties now" 4. THE WORSE OFFENSE: Telling me (our of nowhere too) that I am a level 2 on the attractiveness scale. 1 being "pretty" and 10 being "DAAAAANNG." I told him if he was trying to ruin my self-esteem..and he's like, "no, some people don't even make it on the hot meter" This is a 30 year old man.No one was talking about attractive men or women. I would imagine anyone above 7 years old knows the difference between right and wrong comments. Now, some may argue that he's "being honest." But, would you tell your boss that his wife is a 1 or that his tie was hideous...you know, because you're honest? Now, maybe I'm wrong here, but I believe when you make those comments you are aware of the negative impact it may have on the person you like. I always believe there is a sinister motive behind those comments. I believe you are purposely trying to inflict pain on the individual due to insecurities. What do you think? (P.S. I no longer communicate with him) MYOB: I agree that he is an ******, however I do believe he was interested in me as he said he was.
