Question: Advice on how to respond to friend's harsh criticisms? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:19 PM PDT Recently, I was fired from a job and lost a friend who chided me for excessive whining. According to her very blunt criticisms, I "think the rest of the world" is my problems, and I need to "look forward to life" as I have a bright future. She informed me that "she couldn't deal with negative conversations" anymore and tired of "having to make me feel better." I did speak to her on multiple occasions about my frustrations; it was the second time in a year that I lost employment and I was particularly unhappy at the first job I lost. However, I was also undergoing treatment for depression that I had thought was bipolar disorder (I did not disclose that to her), so clearly I didn't think my problems were everyone else's fault. Lastly, I tried to comfort her when she lost a job and a member in her family. She had also asked me periodically to borrow money and we discussed me buying her a plane ticket, though neither one of these transactions actually took place. When I mentioned that I tried to help her through her problems, she told me "YOU asked to help me, so don't ******* make people feel bad for reaching out." I need advice on how to respond to these types of criticism. I often hear that I am sensitive, but looking back I know that I am not at a loss without her friendship. Would telling her to go **** off had been the right move? Since this day, I actively monitor and limit my amount of "whining;" I keep my "dark thoughts" to myself, except on Yahoo! Answers lol. |
Question: I've never understood this? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:16 PM PDT A girl calls me one of her best friends but in my opinion, I think it's clearly obvious that I'm not. Why does she say that then? |
Question: I feel like I'm wasting away my teenage years? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:09 PM PDT I'm a junior in high school. I live in the middle of nowhere and my school is very rural and kind of small. I've been thinking recently and it feels like my whole high school and teenage experience has been cheated. I never really go out with friends since there's not much in our town and I don't have a lot of friends anyways. I see people's snapchat stories and they're always having fun with friends and it makes me envious. My parents are strict and it makes things that much harder. I don't really know what to do right now and I feel like if things were a little different I could be enjoying myself. What should I do to stop thinking this way? Thanks! |
Question: How to deal with weird roommate? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:08 PM PDT So I moved in with a former student I went to college with a few years ago. He knew I had been looking for a place and offered to rent me out a room at his apartment for a very affordable price. However, since I ve been living there (only 3 weeks), his behavior has become increasingly strange. He seemed more mellow when we were in class. But his energy is just too much! I am naturally a very mellow and quiet guy, so this has caused some stress. On the rare occasions when he s not playing World of Warcraft, he attempts to talk (more like shout) NON-STOP with me. His topics of conversations are VERY strange, and he is constantly interupting me to the point where I cannot get a word in. No matter what I do, he can t take a hint. Now all I do is go straight to my room after work and ignore and avoid him the best that I can. This has made him very upset and resentful. As a result, it is very awkward living there. My question is: how should I deal with this situation? I can t afford paying more rent at another place right now, but I can tell he is VERY upset with me for ignoring him. |

Question: How to make friends in my new neighborhood ? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:02 PM PDT So I'm 23, recently graduated in the summer and have been living on my own for awhile now. I want to make new friends from the neighborhood, but how is that even possible? I already graduated, and my job is at an office, where my coworkers are not like me, and just not people I would hang out with mainly due to age. How can I make friends ? |

Question: Hygiene issues with house guests....? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:29 PM PDT Recently my in laws lost their house. They always take our puppy when we go away (we have no one else) and they are in and out of our house a lot. The other night, for the first time, they stayed with us. I noticed they didn't wash their hands after using the bathroom, forgot to flush a few times, and wore the same clothes the next day. I am a VERY clean person, so I was completely taken aback by it all. In all the years I have known them, I have never witnessed this because I have only been with them for a few hours at a time. They might need to stay over our house again and I am REALLY really anxious. I feel like they will contaminate everything they touch. What do I do?! At first I wanted to avoid having them over, or having them come get our puppy for us when we aren't home. Then I thought maybe we talk about it, but it is a difficult subject to bring up. What do I do?! |

Question: I'm not looking forward to ANYTHING anymore? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:07 PM PDT I'm 15. My birthday is in a week and I'm not looking forward to that. It used to make me feel very excited, even if I never really did much on my birthday, people treated me nicer. but now I just feel empty about it. Also, I know most kids don't but I love school because I see all my friends, but lately I've just been kind of silent. I don't really feel happy like I used to anymore. Just yesterday, I flaked on a friend because I felt really paranoid. I'm overthinking things constantly and I can't find stability in my life. I don't feel happy. I don't know how to talk to people, and I'm not super close to anyone. I have friends, but I'm more of a "just there" friend. I don't know what to do about this. I'm generally a happy person, so I don't understand why i'm feeling sad for no reason. |
Question: I need advice on a friendship problem? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 03:12 PM PDT So basically I am 13 years old and I need some advice. I am looking to join a friendship group but there is someone in the group that doesn't like me and I think I know why. So I'm friends with her best friend and I was in class with the person and I heard her talking to people about how she's starving herself so I spoke to her best friend who is also my friend because I was worried about what I'd heard . My friend then went and spoke to her about it and told her it was me that told her and ever since she has been rude to me . She could also not like me because I'm friends with her best friend I'm not sure. I know u will tell me to talk to her about it but if that is the reason she doesn't like me how to I explain why I told her friend because it was none of my business and what if she starts asking why it came up in conversation. I just want to join the group but I won't be able to if she still hates me . I know that what I did was wrong but I don't know what to do about it now |

Question: Does this mean he has feelings? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 03:11 PM PDT He and I broke up 2 months ago and I started going to church and found him staring at me 2 weeks in a row so I texted him but he said he was offended which is why it wouldn't work and why he wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again. I didn't respond. I've been going to church since then it's been almost a month, and he continues to constantly stare at me to the point that my friends and family notice. What does this mean? does he still have feelings? friends and family say he stares i dont stare at him and gave him a dirty look a couple times |

Question: What do you do when you generally like a person but you argue all the time? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 02:00 PM PDT I really like this guy as a friend but we argue all the time. He says we don't communicate and that I need to start talking about meaningful things. I told him I would help him finicially for his services basically meaning sex. I tell him we are friends because I send him money to help him. But he says we aren't friends because we only talk about our arrangement and that we never communicate. |

Question: Goth, hated by best friends dad? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 01:16 PM PDT So im a 16 yo girl and im pretty goth, i always wear different chokers and platform boots and mostly black, because it makes me feel comfertable, i have 2 piercings in my nose and ears. And so i met this girl on my school, she has many mental illnesses and i helped her a lot when she was considering taking her life. but i went to her house and her dad gave me such a disgusted look, he kept asking weird insulting questions at dinner and i felt reallyreally uncomfertable, eventually i went home and said goodbye and he didnt even look at me. later i heard them talking while we were facetiming and he said; "i dont care if shes nice, she looks weird and gives bad vibes, shes probably a bad influence" even though i tried having a genuine nice conversation with him and i was very polite. i never smoked, did anything wrong, i never skipped school and now my new best friend her father keeps us from being together? what did i even do wrong. he knows she had noone at school and she got bullied alot, shouldnt he be happy she found someone? Thanks for the comments, i really appriciate it. i have experience with people judging me and i understand i have to accept that, but idk this time it just really hurts. it hurts me that even parents judge me even though im very polite and ive helped theyre daughter a lot. it just sucks because he wont let us facetime either. and it sucks even more because were getting feelings for eachother but we can only see eachother at lunch. well i am gay, and a different race lol so ye thats hard sometimes also indeed, it just sucks bc im really staring t love her and i dont like people alot,. |
Question: Should I be upset at my friend for bailing on me? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:51 PM PDT We made plans to go out partying for halloweekend. I told her I'd get off from work at 9 and head over to her dorm to get ready with her and her other friends. She said it was fine if I came a little after 9 since everyone else would be getting ready at that time. When it was 5 minutes to 9 she texted me saying they were leaving, I reminded her that I get off at 9 and would head over soon after if she'd wait for me. Again, she just said that she and her friends were leaving. I asked if I could meet up with them somewhere and she never replied back to my text. It said she had read it too. The next morning she texted me asking if she'd left her water bottle in my room. I didn't answer. Today she texted me asking if I'd like to get dinner with her, but I still didn't answer because I was and am still really hurt over what she did. I don't have any other friends in college and I ended up spending that weekend in my room crying. Am I wrong to cut her off? This isn't the first time she's done something like this. |
Question: I want to belong to a group, but can't choose one? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:34 PM PDT I don't like the religious or atheist groups...or politics...or social justice...but I do want to belong to a group. It'd just be fun and I like feeling part of something. Any suggestions? |
Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:22 PM PDT I'm in my 30's and I've decided to quit drinking. In my 20's was when I partied allot and I had all these drinking buddies in my life. I really don't think its good to get drunk every weekend. I've been through it and I've seen people change so much. I'm still going to go to bars on occasion but I won't be getting drunk. I know I can just have like 2 beers and some soda after. The other weekend I went to bar and had dinner and 2 beers and some soda. I just feel great now after I take a break. |
Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:18 PM PDT Everyone says college friends are better than high school friends. I dont really see it tbh, bc my HS friends were and still are a really tight knit- close group and i miss them. I'm a freshman and have made many friends but no CLOSE friends and its kind of sad. Everyone has their close buddy already but i haven't found that yet, or a close group. All my somewhat close friends want to joun sororities so when they do i won't be close with them anymore bc they will have their sorority. Im kind of sad and dont know what to do about this situation. I feel lonely and just want a group of friends in college. Do you think that will happen? |
Question: I got myself into a crappy situation? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:08 PM PDT My roommate tutors a guy at school who I recently matched with on tinder and we had plans to go on an ice cream date. After agreeing to the date, his true colors started to show and I realized he may not be someone I want to be with AT ALL, so I was never really excited for it. It got postponed twice and tonight is when it was supposed to finally happen. Long story short, I ran into a couple girls who know his ex (we all went to hs together but were NOT close friends) and I asked them if they knew what happened between them. I was just looking out for myself by doing this. I also mentioned how he had been trying to hang out. First off, they told me he's absolutely crazy. Then, they twisted my words, went back to his ex, and said I said he was blowing up my phone. So, his ex went off on him for texting someone she went to high school with and told him I said he blows up my phone. This led to him blocking me on everything, questioning my roommate about me, etc. He never confronted ME though. I'm not upset that our date is not going to happen at this point. But I am upset that I'm not getting to clarify myself and what actually happened to him. I have no idea what to do. Do I let it go even though he has the complete wrong impression of me now? |
Question: My friends treat me like garbage? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 11:31 AM PDT So my friends never contact me. I don't see them often because we live in different towns (although nearby) but we don't drive. Most of the time when I contact them, whether individually or a group message, they don't respond but they "read" the messages. It bothers me but I've already told them how much I want to talk to them and see them and they never make half the effort I make. One of them said a week ago that she'd contact me more and she hasn't. Kind of rotten to tell someone something just to make them happy. They haven't indicated any reason to be mad at me or anything so I'm not sure what is going on. When you have aspergers syndrome it's hard to make friends, even as an adult. It causes me stress, especially when they say I'm their best friend or friend. What should I do? This has been ongoing for quite a while. One of them has bipolar and depression and the other might have aspergers like I do. They are on Facebook everyday and they can't find 5 minutes to talk to me, despite the effort I make. They make plans with other people, but not with me. |
Question: I have a deep belief over blind friendship..? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 11:15 AM PDT i never care 'bout my family nor relatives..my only friend is pushing me into madness..please give me some perspective..all my platonic friends dumped me...please say someting |
Question: Bitchy friend please help what do I do? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 10:55 AM PDT Okay so last year I was brand new to my school district as a freshman. And I made friend s with this person named "Stacy" I could kinda see her being bitchy last year but it is not until this year that it took full effect. She will be extremely rude to me for no reason for example at hoco we were supposed to go in a group for pics and dinner. And the day before basically ditched me to hang with her new found friend "Julie". At lunch she will go up to her other friends (who are not nice) and will leave me sitting there alone. Plus she makes it a constant point to brag about her friend s this year and the funny thing is last year she told me she hated them and they were not right and now she hangs out with them. I am just so over her attitude with me and her acting like she is so much better and then always goes to me like i m second choice when she has none of her new friends around. What do I do? do you think she is jealous? I m on the cheer team and have made a lot of new friends too I am just tired of the disrespect. |
Question: So I’ve completely cut off my friends and I want to be friends with them again? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 10:24 AM PDT I made the biggest mistake of my life which was cutting off three people that I cared about because I didn't want to make them unhappy. I met them exactly last year and I left them four months after I met them. These people and I cared about each other and we did almost everything together as a group. I totally regret cutting them off and leaving them and ignoring them. They look at me most of the time and they like my stuff on social media and open my snap stiries. We have no contact at all. I can't even make eye contact with them. I really want to be their friend again but I'm afraid to. What should I do? Should i just reappear into their life or....? |
Posted: 31 Oct 2017 10:17 AM PDT I was at my guy friends house one night. At 1230 his roommate brought us liquor. I took five shots and the next memory is of me waking up topless and in different shorts laying in my friends Concrete floor. I had bruises on my inner thighs on my arms and cut marks down my back and I felt like I was in a car crash. I wake up and I notice both guys were in there beds but I was laying in the floor. I asked guy friend why I was in the floor and what happened he said I had had sex w his roommate but I don't remember anything AT ALL!!!! Hes acting wierd when im talking to him I said why am I in the floor he said "u looked comfortable so I just left u there and didn't want to disturb you" how could I look comfortable topless on concrete? So he said I was having sex but I don't remember anything. My shorts were changed. I was in Jean shorts that night yet was in a pair of pink shorts. I have no memory for 8 hours. So its been said I had sex w his roommate but he said he didn't have sex w me. Than explain why I am laying in his floor and how did I wind up in his floor?-is he lying. Did they both have sex w me? Was COVERED in bruises and it seems like my shorts were changed too.... Is he lying |
Posted: 31 Oct 2017 10:03 AM PDT So I've met these three people and it was the best day of my life. I've cut them out of my life because I didn't want to make them unhappy. I totally regret it by leavinghem and ignore them and they ignoring me. Most of the time hey would look at me and they would like my stuff on social media. Idk what this means and I just want to be with them again. I left them 10 months ago and i want to be with them so badly again. Two are Taurus's and one is an Aquarius. We're all females and I'm a libra. What do I do? |
Question: My friend is mad I didn't help him during a fight. Advice? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 09:34 AM PDT I was at the bar with one of my good friends. He had been drinking and was getting rowdy which he tends to do when he's drunk. Anyways he starts being an a$$hole to another guy and ends up getting his a$$ kicked. I try my best to break up the fight. After it happened he's been acting all pissy towards me calling me disloyal for not jumping in and hitting the other guy. I feel like sh*t now. Am I a terrible friend? How can I fix this? |

Question: How do i make new friends even tho i don’t know many people? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 08:21 AM PDT I used to be in a couple of loose "friendship groups" but they all fell apart and I only have 3 friends and they are all extremely selfish and oblivious to me and to other people (i know this because all 3 girls know each other in a friendly-acquaintance way we're not in a group or anything and they agree with the same bad points about each other as me) One is very weird and enclosed, will say she just wants to stay in rather than see me but then sees other people just like that , the other is a social climber who tries to have as many friends from different groups as possible so she can seem popular and get invited from parties and the last overreacts to everything and constantly thinks people are against her for no reason. I didn't get good gcse results and had to go to college instead of a proper school, which is over an hours journey from my house and there's only 80 people in my year who are all quite badly behaved and chavy and also live far away from me so i don't think i will be friends with them, how can i meet some new people as i often have no one to spend my weekends with and am starting to become really frustrated |
Question: Do I sound boring to you? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 07:59 AM PDT I'm an 18-year-old college student. Ever since I was young, I've been very introverted and quiet. I have always enjoyed smaller crowds as opposed to large ones, working by myself, and being efficient. I take my achievements and success very seriously, failure is difficult for me to process. I have always been a perfectionist. I have been told I'm boring many times and as a kid, I was often bullied for my introversion and differences. Everyone else was making bad choices and being irresponsible. For instance, I never use swear words despite the fact this is considered a social norm nowadays. Most people my age attend wild parties regularly, drink alcohol, (even though they're underage here in the US but no one seems to acknowledge that) smoke, do drugs, have sex with people they hardly know, and just act recklessly overall. I refuse to engage in risky or negligent behavior. I spend a lot of time on my school work and in the library completing it. Sometimes, I'll cancel plans with the few friends I do have because I want to spend my time working and getting things done. Accomplishment gives me a sort of energy that I love and makes me feel great about myself. I have many goals that I'd like to achieve in the future, like going to grad school, getting my degree, a high paying job that I enjoy. I want to make something of myself. I still do enjoy conversing once in a while as long as the group's not too large and it's with people I can tolerate (I hate to admit it but I can be a tad bit judgmental of irresponsible people and wouldn't want to build any friendships with them) In your opinion, is there anything wrong with this? I've noticed most of my days consist of working and being by myself. I do like to have fun but responsibly. I want to be respected and make good choices. Am I missing out on anything? |
Question: Why am i being hated? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 07:26 AM PDT Tbh i can't think of any reason why these people hate me. So i am in highschool and there this group of popular person that talk behind my back. I am not close with any of the, never talk to them, and i am that nerd kid sitting at the front row listening to teachers. Question: I'm in love with a girl and I'm a girl. Help me!? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:25 AM PDT First of all, I'm 19, so I'm not a kid. One year ago I fell in love with this great and beautiful girl. She's my (I can say) friend and we meet everyday (in school). My feelings for her are stronger and stronger, although she has a boyfriend. We're not close friends, but we talked about a sleepover in her house (I've never been there). Should I go ? What's it like to have a sleepover with a friend (when her family is home) ? I know, stupid question, but I've never been on a sleepover, although I'm 19. But my oroginal question was: How to forget her ? |
Question: Is it okay that I’m mad at my friend. If not what should I do???? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:25 AM PDT So for this Halloween I invited my friend over and last night she text me she's couldn't come. And now she's saying that she won't know if she can come or not until 30 minutes before my party. This sucks for me because I spend about &30 and 3 hours on a costume that was supposed to be for both of us. I told her that she had to say yes or no by this morning. She just kept telling me that I eiether wait or disinvite her. I told her that I'm the one who invited her so that question isn't up to me. The reason I want her to tell me early is so maybe I can get another costume or invite another friend or something. This kind of messes up my whole Halloween. Is it okay that I'm mad at her? |
Question: Can't she get it through her head? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:07 AM PDT My ex cheated on me two years ago and the other girl still tries to compete. I told her a million times before I'm no longer with him or interested but it doesn't stop. I don't have any contact with guy, I have a boyfriend and I'm pregnant with my first child so it's pretty obvious that my ex is out of the picture, yet this girl still continues to act as if I'm still involved. Why? |
Question: Was my friend saying I have thin hair? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:47 AM PDT So I've noticed that almost every time I meet up with my friend she keeps making comments about my hair. Sometimes she says 'your hair is getting so long' and she will touch it One time we were in our friendship group and she started touching my hair and said 'Alice's hair is long, but not as long as mine' whilst flicking my hair Recently she told me that she can cut the ends off my hair and said 'it will look thicker if I do this every month' Was my friend saying I had thin hair? |
Question: Am I a terrible friend? Or did I make the right decision? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:30 AM PDT Basically It was me, my friend Marlon and his girlfriend Sam. We moved in together after High school graduation. A few months later we start having one of our friends from high school, Lexus, over a lot. We were all cool with it. But then i find out Sam and Lexus slept together. He figured i wouldn't care. In his mind, maybe he thought i would be like, "He won't be mad, it just proves she's a whore" I didn't know what to do. Should i just kick him out and then when they ask why, Spill the beans on Sam? Or go to Marlon directly and tell him? What if i tell Marlon, him and Sam argue about it, then make up, and i look like the instigating friend trying to break them up. Because it's not like a hated Sam i figured she made a mistake. Turns out she also slept with another friend of Marlon. Then he finds out, **** goes down, the guy leaves, sam marlon talk it through. A couple weeks go by. Marlon thinks there's something between sam and lexus. He confronts him man to man. Lexus lies. Then he tricked Sam into confessing. We kick lexus out. Marlon later tells me. All that happened was she started blowing him then chickened out. But i know They slept together multiple times. At this point it's hard to even look at her the same. Should i tell him still? Or is the damage done? It's been about a month since all that went down and they are trying to work things out. They seem pretty happy at the moment. |

Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:10 AM PDT I didn't have enough place in the question so I'm continuing it here. My best friend is now friends with the popular group who I know will get her into trouble someday and I already told her but she doesn't understand so I gave up. Whenever I see her, I go to her and talk to her, but in a minute or so her friends will come and take her with them. She also has a boyfriend. She doesn't even listen to me like I listen to her because when she sees her new friends anywhere in the surroundings, she leaves me and goes away. I told her many times that she is ignoring her old but golden friends but it seems like she doesn't care so I gave up telling her about it. She still tells me that I'm her best friend. I know that I'm still her best friend but we don't have the same connection we used to have in our previous year. And another problem, my best friend's friend hates me because of the way I text messages and because of my accent. There is nothing wrong with my accent except the fact that I speak faster. She also told my best friend not to talk with me in front of her eyes. I was so sad when my best friend came and told this to me. Hope somebody answers my question soon cuz I want advice right away! |

Question: Is she playing hard to get, trying to hurt me, revenge or some other game? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 01:55 AM PDT I was good friends with someone in an online community. One day I hurt her feelings and she blocked me on Twitter. I wrote her a very long apology letter on Telegram and we agreed to keep on the friendship. I haven't heard from her for over a week. I'm still blocked. I'm not writing her because I want to give her space. Since then she seems to be playing a game. On Telegram, you can see when a person was last online. I live in Europe and she in America. So there's a time difference. I see that her last online is now always a time when I'm asleep. Yesterday I was awake long and she came online but instantly left. Btw. she's a lurker and almost never writes anything in a group we're both in. 1. Is she trying to hurt me by signaling that she's avoiding me? 2. Is she trying to not hurt me by not writing me because she's never online when I am? 3. Is she playing hard to get and wants me to make the first move to write her? 4. Is she trying to hurt me as a revenge because I hurt her? What kind of game is she playing? I care for her and want us to be friends again but I just don't understand what's going on and if I should write her instead of giving her space. Yesterday when I was online and she came, she instantly went offline. An hour later when she saw I was still there, again, she went offline. And an hour later, again. It's not that she avoids me in a way because we are in the same community and could bump into one another when having conversations with other people. She doesn't even write anything there. She's only lurking. It's like she's stalking me and reading what I write but at the same time avoiding me. Does this even make sense? |

Question: What does he want? Help? Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:32 AM PDT He and I broke up 2 months ago and I started going to church and found him staring at me 2 weeks in a row so I texted him but he said he was offended which is why it wouldn't work and why he wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again. I didn't respond. I've been going to church since then it's been almost a month, and he continues to constantly stare at me to the point that my friends and family notice i don't look at him and have given him a dirty look couple times |

Question: How would you view someone who behaves this way on a regular/semi-regular basis? Posted: 30 Oct 2017 10:57 PM PDT Say you know someone who has a very low sense of self-worth; they frequently worry and stress over things that most people don't, it is not unheard of them to freak out or freeze up at social gatherings. Some days when you're all hanging out having a good time, they'll just abruptly leave, leaving everyone else very confused. Sometimes they leave, change their mind, and come back. On the few occasions that they told you why, their reasons had to do with difficulties socializing/social anxiety or relationship problems. You have known them long enough that you're kind of used to it but still don't fully understand it. How would you be viewing the person at this point?: 1. I do not like them at all. They're just doing this because people aren't paying enough attention to them. They are petty, belligerent, childish, entitled, and attention-seeking and need a royal kick up the a$$ to grow up. I find them incredibly annoying and I prefer events where they are not there. Definitely not someone I would go out of my way to associate with. 2. I do not mind them. But this person is clearly struggling with some kind of mental problem. I hope that they are getting the help they need and that they start seeing the world for how it is sooner than later, for their own sake. |
Question: Should I stay friends with this person? Posted: 30 Oct 2017 10:21 PM PDT I have a friend that never contacts me first nor visits. If I contact her or request to hang out she's always cool with it but she literally NEVER contacts me, asks to come over, nor asks to hang out. It's fun hanging out with her but I'm growing tired of being in a one sided friendship where I'm ALWAYS going out of my way to hang out, call, etc. I talked to her about this before and all she had were excuses. Part of me is feeling like I should just stop being friends with her but we've been friends for about 10 years now (and my only other friend lives out of state). We both have lives. I have a full time job and neither one of us have kids. It wasn't always like this but this is really making me question my friendship with her and I think talking to her about it would be pointless.. Bc it was last time. I've even tested things out to see if she was really a friend and completely stopped contacting her. I didn't hear from her for 2 months so at that point I backed off from our friendship and completely deleted her from my phone and social media. Then she called. But seriously I wouldn't have heard from her if I hadn't done that and that bothers me bc she contacts her other friends.. and we're suppose to be best friends and I'm starting to feel like the desperate girl who always wants to hang out with someone who doesn't even initiate contact. |

Question: How to be more social? Posted: 30 Oct 2017 09:55 PM PDT When I was in middle school and 9th grade I was a really social butterfly. I was confident in myself. Now I'm 21 and I rarely talk to my close "friends". Some moved out of town or are just too busy to do much. I'm not that confident social girl I used to be in middle school anymore. Now I'm reserved and shy. I really do want to talk to people in class but when I try to find something to talk about nothing really comes out and I panic and just ask standard questions like "how was your day?" I just feel like I'm the odd ball in my classes and people will judge me for the things I like or the way I really act. Most of the friends I make are online but I want to make actual friends I can hang out with on a daily basis. It's just hard for me. Any advise? |
Question: I really don't think my friends dad ever eats or sleeps? Posted: 30 Oct 2017 09:55 PM PDT my friends dad is normal, like he's basically an all american business man and no one would consider him odd or anything, but (i know it sounds crazy) i seriously don't think he eats or sleeps....at all. he always cooks really good food for my friend and for me when i spend the night at my friends house, but he never eats the food himself.... so one time i asked my friend why this is and she said that her dad has some weird medical problem and can only have special shakes and can't eat solid food... but he's not underweight or sickly looking or anything like that. he looks very healthy and fit. also i seriously don't think he ever sleeps because he always seems to be awake. my friend is my best friend so i spend the night with her a lot, and every single time i spend the night with her i'll notice that her dad never sleeps. his home office is right next door to my friends room, and the walls at her house are really thin, so i always can hear her dad in his office all night typing and stuff. or if i get up to go across the hall to the bathroom at like 4 am, i'll see her dad working in his office or wide awake watching tv or something in the living room. i follow my friends dad on social media, and he's usually active on social media at weird hours of the night. i'd think that maybe he has insomnia, but he never seems to be tired at all. he's always really energetic. is it possible that he really doesn't sleep or eat for some reason? one more thing is that my friends dad is really really successful, he owns his own law firm and he's a single dad and he's young, but he never seems to work. he has enough free time to pick my friend up from school every single day, and he's always hanging out with friends or doing pointless stuff (hunting fishing etc) instead of going to work, but he makes a lot of money and he's the most successful lawyer in our town. maybe he doesn't sleep for some reason and works at night?? |
