Made a clay sculpture and set it on a high wood shelf. It was a 15 pound price of clay made into a dog lying down. When it was pretty dry I picked it up to examine and was shocked to find 3 large earwigs underneath it! I even ended up dropping my sculpture and it broke into several pieces :(. But the point is, how did earwigs even get up there? It was a wood shelf on a wall, did they scale the wall to seek out a moist clump of clay? The earwigs didn't come out of store bought clay, did they? I tried to google this but found nothing. Anyone else have this issue?
