I am 26 and my boyfriend is 35 so obviously we are of age to discuss marriage. we aren't getting married right this moment as we aren't financially stable, probably in a few years but is in the plans. we've been together for 4 years and friends for like 8 years. I've always been very close to my father, he's not really close to anyone else in our family as his biological mom gave him up when he was a baby. I know my dad feels like he is being replaced but I have explained to him that I will still be there for him and I will still love him even though I will be out of the house and married. he seems irritated when my boyfriend is around and he makes comments about my boyfriend breaking up with me a lot. seems as though he really doesn't want us to make this next step into our relationship because in his eyes I will always be his little. i'm not trying to hurt my father because I know what's his been through. but what should I do to keep my father from being sad? I noticed he has sort of an attitude when I bring up marriage and our relationship in general. YES i did. I asked my dad if there was something he didn't like about my boyfriend then just Tellme but he said he has nothing against him. I've asked him multiple times if there was an issue with him just be blunt and tell me.

Me and her will have little engagement ceremony at home but i said there won't be any ring. She was expecting ring and I said it should be from heart and will get her ring once married. She got upset so I said ok we'll get engagement ring and she goes she doesn't want ring for engagement anymore but she bought the ring herself to wear it.

We often do it, he says 'I need my (he says my nickname)' and I let him stay on my chest, kiss his head and cuddle him. It's like I'm giving him all the love he needs. Is that weird, like a mother/child thing or is it ok for a girl whoss boyfriend is 4 years older?
