Question: Should me and my wife move to be closer to our new grand baby? Posted: 25 May 2019 09:52 PM PDT Me and my wife are going to be new grandparents soon to a baby boy. Our son is in the Air Force at nellis afb could have to deploy soon. We have a big problem with our my mother in law she is very sick and elderly she lived with us for 2/3 years before mostly my wife could not deal with her health issues anymore. I can easily transfer because I am a software engineer and amazon offered me a transfer all I would have to do is sell my home it's a home value at 950k its in Seattle. Anyways my wife is not really on board with wanting to move because it's her mom and she is 92. She has been in and out of the hospital for the past 3 months and I really don't think she lives another 2 years. My wife deals with all her doctors and care. I am not willing to move her because I doubt she lives longer then 2 years. Should I move 1st get the house settled and get ready for the new grand baby and my wife rides it out until mother in law finally dies. I just feel like it's important to be there for our son and the grand baby instead of a women who is a constant drain and already has 24/7 care |

Question: I think my husband has mental health issues, how do I get him help? Posted: 25 May 2019 09:11 PM PDT I've noticed the past 3 years my husband has become verbally abusive and manipulative. I've endured for some time but it has gotten worse the past few months. He has stopped working for 6 months after getting fired for insulting his boss and refuses to get a job. He has been drinking 2 or 3 beers plus whiskey almost everyday for 3 years now and refuses to stop despite my advice and his diabetes. He doesn't get along with anybody and insults strangers, our friends, and even my family. He always asks me for money and makes me feel guilty for not giving him and even curses me out when I refuse. He is very paranoid when I go to work, he thinks I'm cheating on him and calls me all sorts of horrible names. After he is done with his verbal abuses, within 1 hour he will talk to me like it never happened. Sometimes he apologies for what he does and other times he plays victim and tells me he said what he said because I provoked him. Another thing I've noticed is that he makes up memories that never happened or gets his stories mixed up, he also likes to claim that he knows certain popular people, which I know is not true but he insists. He also talks to the TV like the people acting can hear him, he talks/argues for hours without pause, he wakes me up at night or sometimes I find him looking at me in the middle of the night. He only sleeps about 4 hours each day or sleeps the entire day. I don't know how to go about getting him help, what options do I have? Thanks. |
Posted: 25 May 2019 07:29 PM PDT My 72 year old mother is an extreme narcissist. She's basically been a burden on me and my siblings our entire lives. She never beat us as kids but she controlled and constantly manipulated us so that our childhood was miserable. After our father abandoned us she started treating me like her husband even though I was 10 years old. My entire life she's forced and guilted me into the role of caregiver by acting helpless, saying I don't love her, fake crying, and other manipulation tactics to control me into caring for her. Now I'm married and my 72 year old mother is ruining my marriage. She acts like I'm her husband and is cruel and jealous towards my wife and daughter. My wife is threatening to leave me after being mistreated by my mother who would love for me to get divorced. My mother insults my 10 year old daughter by telling her she's fat and gets pissed and mean towards her when the same manipulation tactics she used on me as a child don't work on her. My mother has to go. But I can't just kick her to the curb. I own the house and I am so deeply in debt I can't afford to move me and my wife into another house so my mom can stay in the house she's always lived in. She refuses to leave willingly. My mother is on social security and poor. She can't afford to pay for housing herself. I can't afford to help her. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Would medicaid pay for housing? Are there any programs that help elderly with housing? Anyone have other advice? |
Question: Want to move but my wife won’t budge until mother in law dies? Posted: 25 May 2019 04:59 PM PDT I am a software engineer from Seattle I am fed up with cost of living and I was offered a transfer to Las Vegas. I work for amazon. Anyways it's crazy expensive to keep living in Seattle the house my wife and I own can sell for around 950k reason why it's near amazon headquarters like 20 min drive. My mother in law moved in with 3 years ago and now lives in a nursing home. Got to the point where me but mostly my wife could not move or deal with her Health issues. Also our son lives in Nevada outside Las Vegas nellis afb and he is expecting a baby boy soon. I want to be close to help out my son and his wife married 2 years. But my wife is serious about I won't leave Seattle until my mother dies because she runs her to doctors appointments/visits. My guess is within the next 2/3 years she will die after all she is 92. She has had some infections as well. We went to marriage counseling over the issue and the guy said wait 1 years and maybe 6 months then after that move and mil can pay for plane tickets 🎫 back to Seattle. What should we do I ain't moving mil to Nevada because I doubt she lives longer. |
Question: What do you think about arranged marriages? Posted: 25 May 2019 04:55 PM PDT I have a son 28 who is still a virgin he also has mild intellectual disability and I feel the need to arrange a marriage. I will pray on it too because he needs Love like everyone else and he has started getting bald on the top of his head his hair is falling out. I wonder if it's because he's still a virgin. My other son was a virgin too he passed away from suicide he would have been 35 this year. I hope to make things happier for my son so he doesn't become suicidal like his older brother. Do you think I will have any success. It seems to me things would be less complicated if there was an arrangement. Have you ever seen that show the undateables my son is a lot better off than them. |
Posted: 25 May 2019 03:51 PM PDT My husband(25m) sexted a bot while on vacation. At least I think it was a bot and he says it was. Idk if that's cheating or not? He said he was just kidding around but it still made me sick to my stomach and cry. So would anyone else consider sexting a bot cheating? It's not like it was a real person but he is a real person sending explicit texts soooo it kinda feels like cheating to me. |
Question: After discovering that you’ve been cheated on, were you ever truly happy thereafter? Posted: 25 May 2019 03:34 PM PDT If you decide to stay and reconcile with a serious partner after infidelity, was there ever a day where you're truly happy and not think about the affair partner or the infidelity? Also, if you live with your partner and stayed living together, what was it like for you? |
Question: How do I stop feeling bad about being over 30 and unmarried? Posted: 25 May 2019 02:25 PM PDT I know that I shouldn't feel bad about this, but it's hard not to. EVERY girl in my family is married including those younger than me, and all my best friends are married, engaged, or at least in committed relationships. It's hard going to family reunions and feeling excluded or treated like a kid because I don't have a husband or children. On top of it, people in my family are tactless and constantly pointing out the fact that I'm getting old and it's ridiculous that I'm not married. They don't realize how hurtful that is - I've had my heart broken by literally every guy I've dated in the last few years. Their comments make me feel like I'm ugly or unworthy of anyone. On top of it, I feel like those who are tactful say, "Oh, you'll find someone," but that feels like an empty promise when you're over 30 and still haven't been in relationship with a guy who was faithful to you. |

Posted: 25 May 2019 12:20 PM PDT They've been dating for quite some time and she has repeatedly told us over and over again she doesn't want children ever. So why settle for someone has multiple children? she's 26 and in the prime of her life right now. All of these nice men out here that are child-less and she settled for him? ridiculous. she says she loves him and he treats her nice but she needs to think about her future. It's great she loves him but she needs security as well. the man doesn't have anything. He's been coming over our house talking about he's getting an apartment for years. he's been talking about getting a better job for years. I hope my daughter isn't just using him for transportation since she doesn't drive. She's a pretty girl, I'm sure she can find a better guy than that. She claims that men aren't really interested in her and that they only want to use her for sex. I told her i doubt that's true. She doesn't dress sleezy, she's always covered up. She has a friend that's child-less and doesn't have baggage, not sure why she couldn't get with him. Also, a part of me thinks he might be emotionally abuse because she hasn't hung out with anyone except for him in years. She stopped hanging out with her friends and just hangs out with him. Of course she would never tell me if that was the case. |
Question: The other woman in his life? Posted: 25 May 2019 12:13 PM PDT When i was young i used loath men who would cheat on their gfs or wives. My dad did too once. As i grew up. My first bf cheated on me. That broke my heart. I had several experiences after that. Most of which involved relationships with people who lied to me. They were married and i was just another affair for them. When i would find out. I would step back. But it just broke me as a person. I didnot have one good relationship. As years passed by, it changed me as a person. So much that i dont recognize myself. I have become numb. I do date sometimes. And i m not surprized when i find the person guilty of being married already. As much as i hate to admit it. I have become my worst nightmare. I have started to play along. Like i dont care anymore. Sometimes i get this feeling that i have become "the other woman". I hate it. I often ask these men how they do it. And the answer is never about their wife being wrong. They just lose interest. And that confuses me. The problem is that i dont mind being this way now. Bcz i m tired of fighting it for years. Over n over again. |
Question: Is it ok that we are best friends now? Posted: 25 May 2019 11:12 AM PDT I had an affair with a married man but we stopped and became very close friends instead. We do all the same stuff except no more fancy restaurants, no more going on dates, no more sex. We now just hangout and will sometimes hold hands or do a very quick kiss on the lips and hug when saying good bye. |

Question: Does she really think I’m cheating? Posted: 25 May 2019 05:58 AM PDT I think my girlfriend really doesn't trust me and I'm not sure why. Today we got into a fight about me talking with this girl I met earlier this year in one of my courses. We've kept in touch since then and it hasn't been anything more than friendly the entire time. The fight we had today was about this girl going out to watch a playoff game last night with me and my friends at a bar. I didn't plan on it to happen but we all just got together. My girlfriend doesn't like sports or my friends so I didn't invite her because I knew she wouldn't go. When we talked after I told her where I was and who was there and then everything happened. I tried not to make it into a whole thing but I just wasn't in the mood to let her blow things out of proportion. Right now she's calmed down but I'm still annoyed at having to defend being friends with one girl when she has guy friends and I don't go losing my sh!t when she's around them. Does all this boil down to her NOT trusting me? |

Question: So my boyfriend got upset with me about this? Posted: 24 May 2019 06:28 PM PDT My boyfriend invited me to come with him and see his family in Europe. I was happy because we technically have been broken up for many months. Anyways he gave me some money for the tickets and I continued to do my work. We work together. He was horrified when he came back to visit that I was packing up and leaving to go home. We work at the same job but he works till midnight. Anyway I told him I was getting ready to go home. It turned into a whole argument that I wasn't fully committed to this relationship because I just said that I was going home Instead I should have said "Hey, I really need to run." He thinks I"m addicted to running.. I only run 3x to 4x a week. But if I compare it to him playing basketball. There is no comparison because he does it went he wants to. I dont' understand why me saying ' I am going to leave and go home" is such as big deal. So now he keeps telling me that if I really loved him I would never just 'left' without specifically stating where and when I was going. As well as, if he gave me this green light I would been there showing my commitment and dedication towards him |
