My husband went to pick up his daughter from college last week and he let her drive home. A few miles before getting home she lost control of his truck ( a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer ) and totaled it. Our insurance company has moved very fast and yesterday he picked up his check for the loss. Thank goodness we kept full collision on both our cars. Well, he's looking at a 2008 Lincoln Navigator and I can tell that this is going to be the same issue this time as it was the last time. He hardly let me drive his Mountaineer so I really doubt he's going to let me drive the bigger more luxurious Navigator. Yes, for those who are wondering, I do have my own car but we're husband and wife so why can't I drive his car when I want to? I have a feeling that he's not going to let me just take it to the store or to work when I want to. Several years ago I traded my car and bought an old 2003 Mazda Tribute against his wishes and it's been one problem after another and he won't let me live that down. He told me I shouldn't have bought that car but I bought it to rebuild my credit. He told me that paying for a car that old doesn't really rebuild your credit that much. However, I have a feeling that I'm never going to be able to sit behind the wheel of that Navigator just like I hardly ever sat behind the wheel of that Mountaineer. What do you think?
