When I was younger (from elementary to high school) I had a lot of friends. Once I graduated and started college everyone sort of went their separate ways. I made a few friends in college, but we didn't do stuff really outside of school. I was cool with that bc I still had my small circle of friends I had from high school. As I got older I've out grown a lot of them and now I only have two. One male that I've known since HS and one female that I've known since I was 25. I'm a single 35 year old woman who is looking, but I'm a little worried of how that might look that I only have two friends. If things got serious I couldn't have a huge wedding with plenty of bridesmaids or even guests besides my small family. I like that my circle is small. I know if the guy really likes me it won't matter, but I sort of feel strange on dates when the guy is talking about all of the friends that they have. And all the stuff that they do together and I don't really have a response bc I don't do too much anymore. I don't care to have a bunch of friends or new friends for that matter. If I meet some folks and we click cool, but it's not a need for me. I'll be fine with just my husband and kids, but do you think that this is strange? I'm just a person who keeps to herself and is a laid back chill type. I know I shouldn't worry about it and maybe I'm thinking too much, but does it come off as crazy or weird? |

Well, he s a douch bag, and most people I ve talked to agree. He s loud. He says cringeworthy things he shouldn t. He s just plane annoying. We just started talking again on Facebook after about maybe 8 months. He messages me and told me his gf broke up with him. He was pretty upset so I said well man if you lived here I would invite you to come hang out. Than he got all excited and said oh that would be awesome if we could do that! So next time he s in town he messages me and asked if I m free but I had forgot I had already made planes for that weekend so I told him and he was oh ok maybe next time. So fast forward to now. He messages me about a week ago saying he was sad cuz everyone ignored his birthday and his parents didn t get him anything, and that all he wanted was a psn card. So I was like man that sucks than he asks me if I could buy him one. It kinda pissed me considering last time he asked me if I could buy him a game that was 20 dollars witch I did. Anyway I m kinda pissed about it and I know if we hangout this weekend he s gonna ask if I can buy that card for him. The reason he can t buy it himself is cuz he only makes 127 a month and I make way more not to sound cocky or anything. Anyways. I was just thinking of completely ignoring him. He really only wanted me to go because I'm his only friend who likes the artist who's playing at the concert, but since I wasn't able to make it he invited another friend as a last resort. I've never got a chance to be young and free. My family put me through alot. I spent years raising others kids when I didn't have to but their Mom dropped them off and left. Now I'm just starting to get my life back but I feel so old, back then I had to drop out of college. I gave my nephew back to my Mom ( which we got into about) but she has custody and took him from my sister and left well i found her and as much as it hurted I had to give him back. I start college next month but feel super old. All my friends have kids and boyfriends and I'm really focused on getting my degree and I want kids and a husband but thats my main priority. I'll probably finish school at 27, I feel like I'll be to old to find love then. I haven't dated since 19. But my mind and self esteem is so messed up that I need to rebuild myself. But I feel so washed up and old and basically my life isn't going the way I thought it would. Any advice? has anyone been through this or anything would be grate. I just need to vent? |

But every time I am let down. Every time I find that my friends leave me. They always pick someone else and then drop me out of their life. It is so frustrating. Recently I joined a new school. The moment I join popular groups already form, and I try so hard to just be friends with anyone. I constantly get let down, and idk what to do anymore. I want a friend who I can trust to stay by my side, but no one ever does. At this point I am miserable. Honestly. I have looked back, and thought, is it me? But honestly I try hard in school, I am honest and try to treat my friends with respect. Idk what to do anymore, and I am always rejected. Also, I find that my lifelong friends never put in any effort to stay in contact with me. In all honesty, I know why some kids don't have friends, They are antisocial, don't put in the effort, or don't care. Or are flat out rejected from looks (which I don't agree with). I am very social, and you would think someone like me would have huge self esteem issues, but I went through a fat faze and I worked out of it, and am now considered better than thin. I am muscular in a few ways, and I don't consider myself that bad looking. I am even on the football team. Someone please tell me why it is so hard for me to make friends. |

He lives about 5 min away from me and bothers the hell out of me. I am at fault because I use to enable him by giving him money and rides to get drugs which puts me at risk when I don't even use. Well I say it's been about 2 months that I refuse to help him at all and stop enabling him. But he continues to relentlessly ask for favors and rides every single day by texting and calling me even though I haven't helped him in months and is not getting the hint I'm done. It's becoming very overwhelming and don't know what to do. I don't won't him to get desperate and try to rob me or harm me in anyway idk what to do. He's not stopping and I'm his only friend now because he lost them all so im not sure if he will ever stop because I'm all he gots that helped him. Any advice? They post comments that we are sick people and have no feelings. They also claim to be "abused" by a narcissist but idk how that is possible!!? I'm a guy who has a narcissistic personality disorder and I would never abuse anyone. Narcissism is just about being obsessed with appearance and wanting to be the center of attention. We just want to feel noticed and constantly worry about how we look! What's so bad about that? People say all narcissists are liars but that is absolutely not true!! Somebody who lies constantly is a pathological liar, not a narcissist. Sure I might have made up some big lies in the past, and maybe some a few weeks ago but that's in the past! I've had narcissism and OCD since 5 years old and I'm 15 now. Why do people dislike us so much? We aren't all murderers and abusers. Does anybody on here have experience with a narcissist? Posted: 04 Sep 2015 03:43 PM PDT recently i stumbled upon a interesting article that claims that a study was done to find out if that age old rumor that girls are stronger than guys, i am a bit skeptical of the second part of the test they did and want volunteers to ask their wife/girlfriend or (if girl reading this) boyfriend etc that you would like to repeat the experiment explained in the article with them. - let me explain a little more say mike is your average guy and can lift around 300 pounds say kim is your average girl and she weighs 135 pounds now we calculate kim's LB weight to be around 40 pounds with a equation given in article now say kim crosses her legs and she has john try to pry them apart she doesn't squeeze tighter and is completely relaxed as he is trying to pry her crossed legs apart and uncross them no matter how hard he tries, he can't even make them barely budge even when they weigh around 40 pounds and he can lift her entire weight easily. now i would like to ask volunteers who find this to repeat the experiment in this article with your wife/girlfriend etc and then post the results here or to this blogger page at URL below. i want to know if you successfully pry her legs apart in the second part of the experiment from the article below. Posted: 04 Sep 2015 03:00 PM PDT I know there are a million threads about making friends, but I didn't see anything that quite fit my situation. I'm in my early 30s, graduated college and moved to a new city almost a year ago. The only people I know here are my wife and her family. I'm always super-awkward around the in-laws because they don't get my humor or like the same things that I do, so I usually just stay quiet around them for the sake of not accidentally offending. I enjoy spending time with my wife, but she doesn't really have friends here either; she's content spending time with her mom or watching Netflix. My favorite hobby is gaming - video and board/card mostly. I've tried looking for gaming clubs, searching on Meetup, etc. but I never get any invites or responses to messages. I don't watch sports or have kids, which are the only two topics of conversation at work. I can't drink for medical reasons and I'm not looking for hookups, so bars lose their appeal. I can't meet people at parties because I never hear about any. I've tried making friends at churches before, but the times I've tried they've all been either gossips/behind-the-back talkers or "parole officers" that would rather quote scripture than let me say a bad word during Mario Kart. The last tip I've seen for making friends on here is to get a dog and take it for walks; I can't get a dog because it would scare my other pets. So how do I make friends? |

Its been really tough and I had to sacrifice my grades to help him. This year I decided to fully commit and study harder because I need to go to a good university. He told me that he understands but he also told me that our friendship is not going to work out like it used to. He says that he's not going to stay with me in class because he needs help that I cant provide anymore. He told me hes going to sit with another guy who is willing to help him get good grades. Since he is my best friend and actually the only friend I like to hangout with, it really upset me. I dont want to end the friendship but I also dont want to possibly sacrifice my future for him. I have other friends I hangout with but I dont trust most of them and we dont have much in common. I dont know what to do. I dont want to stay by myself all year long. That would be depressing and lonely. I've been depressed before when I didnt have any good friends. I had a lot of suicidal thoughts and felt really lonely. I'm not considered a "loser", I'm probably a bit higher than average on the popularity scale. I'm friends with a few people are popular. It's not really that I want to be popular ... I just want to be loved by everyone?? I have such a big heart and so much love to give and I want to be friends with everyone and I wish we could all just be friends. And the popular people at my school really aren't "mean" they're just exclusive. I am in 10th grade now, and all of my best friends friends are horrible. They're all so rude, they bully other girls, and I really dislike them. Especially when his father dies before he turned 10. We were brothers. We were so close. We'd tell each other things even as small and stupid as everytime we'd get a new game or console or even toy for ***** sake. Now, for what seems like no reason whatsoever, we have drifted apart. He used to be my go-to guy when I wanted someone to come and spend the night. Now, it's literally impossible for him to come over. I don't even know if I can consider him a best friend anymore. In the beginning he'd text and we'd text about music and different things, because at first I didn't think anything of it, but it was strange because he never would ask me to hang out, so I don't know if some people just have nothing better to do. Now I think he wants me to ask him to hang out but I don't. I think it's fun to text jokes sometimes, but not if he has any motive besides that. I used to text some jokes to him if I thought of any but started curbing that so he wouldn't think we could expect me to text all the time. What's the deal with this guys? Don't most dudes hate texting? |

I have friends and I go out with them very often but still I usually stay quiet most of the time. When something does happen to me I tell them the story with no problem but after that I have no clue what to say. I don't know, my friends always have some interesting stories to tell and I'm over there like hey all I do is watch tv shows and that's it. What should I do? |

And I'm having trouble making friends there now. Everyone hates me because of one boy that tells the popular boys to be mean to me. And the popular boys tell the popular girls. So basically, nobody likes me. I'm sick of my only friends being in younger grades or going to other schools in other towns. Please help. |

Posted: 04 Sep 2015 01:23 PM PDT Long story short: One of my best friends is obivously having trouble with something serious. We started talking about it, but once we got deeper into the problem, she didn't want to talk about it any more. It was over text, so not much I could do. I feel shes headed towards depression, and I really don't want to see that happen to her. I think this is related to her old couch leaving, and her trying to replace the old couch. She told me her old couch was her best adult friend, apart from her parents. Today she looked like she was almost crying when she overloaded her back for the second time this month, and she said her new couch was angry her at for it. During our conversation on snapchat, she said several thing which indicate to me that she is really struggling, and almost depressed, like I once was. Things like: "Im not really in think mode", an unusal lack of humor, "Ive got everything under controll", way to many "haha"s and only showing her face once or twice, and covering it in a blanket. Her facial expression on said images.. The list just goes on. I have no idea what to do?! Thank you, in advance :) |

| Question: For the love of God, please help me! What do I do about this boy in my English class? Posted: 04 Sep 2015 01:21 PM PDT So this kid- let's call him Adam- doesn't have very many friends. He's done bad things before, but I decided to give him another chance and sat next to him in English 11 because I know what it's like to have no friends. His dad is my orchestra conductor, and he's probably one of my favorite teachers of all time. Adam, however, is not. He talks during class and copies off of my papers, both of which I have talked to him about at least once in the past ten days of school. But he also masturbates during class sometimes- I heard from some of my friends that he did it during play practice, but it sounded so bizarre that I figured I would have to see it to believe it. Well, now I have seen it and definitely believe it! Doing it privately is perfectly acceptable, as he's 16 and most people our age do things like that, but not in public, and certainly not in class! My friend told me to tell his dad, which I definitely don't want to do because, really, even if it was one of your favorite students who said it, you wouldn't believe something like that about your kid, right? Should I talk to Adam about it and risk him telling his dad? (He talks about me to his dad; I know because he asked if I was keeping his son in line the other day and said that he told him that I sit next to him) Or should I just tell the teacher? If so, how? Please help me- this is a traumatic thing to witness, without question, and I'm not sure how to get him to stop. |

So i asked him if i could have it and he said sorry, my parents wont let me. So i screamed at him and pulled his hair and kicked him and ran away. The next day i felt guilty so i bought some crickets for food for his frog. his house is across the street from mine so i brought the crickets to his house and said im sorry, hes a gift for your frog thing. So he said thankyou, and gave me money back for buying it! so i said NO! and hit him and screamed at him because he gave me money and i wanted the frog. So i kicked him to the floor and took the frog and ran to my house with it. He said give it back and i said No! so we faught so i took the frog and let it go into the woods so he started to cry so i hit him and screamed at him and kicked him to the floor and slammed the door on him! why is he so mean! does he have issues!? Okay anyway the reason I asked this is because when we pass in hallways or I get stuck in the cafeteria trying to finish lunch he will turn around and walk towards me like he wants to talk. Also today at lunch he made eye contact with me for more than 5 seconds. I'm terrible at telling emotions or talking to people, I don't know what to do. Is he going to wind up talking to me? Posted: 04 Sep 2015 12:25 PM PDT I'm a sophomore in high school I start on the football team and play varsity lacrosse, I pretty much know most everyone, but I never hang out with anybody maybe once or twice a month, even this summer I only got together with a friend or two maybe three times, I've asked a girl to homecoming she's very nice and attractive and she said yes but she never reaches out to me or wants to do anything just like everybody else I feel like people are only nice to my face. If I didn't show up to school again next Monday Or ever again I honestly don't think anyone would care, people don't even text me. What is it why do people hate me, why aren't I worth a text, I feel like I'm involved in enough things to have accumulated some friends, people act like they like me when I'm talking to them (sometimes) but then they never do anything with me (always). I have a small group of people that I've been best friends with since childhood, and M is in that group. She's helped me out a lot, but when we reached 8th grade, she started physically hurting me (to the point where she caused my nose to bleed and didn't seem to care). We're freshmen now, but as fate would have it, we all got put into the same highschool. My other friends have noticed her actions and want me to confront her, but it's a bit hard for me to cut her off since we've been through so much. We all share the same friends, so if I we're to cut ties with her, that would throw off everything in our group. M also tends to shut down everything I say, especially when it comes to jokes. When I'm around her, it seems like everything's my fault. This all happened a little after I got together with my girlfriend, who M had a crush on. If you answer, thank you so much! |

Posted: 04 Sep 2015 11:51 AM PDT I graduated from high school last year, and I have some free time today so I was thinking of my friends I made senior year and I wanted to make cookies for all of them. We all live in walking distance but never got to see each other because of college. Would it be weird if I rang their doorbell and gave them cookies after not seeing them for a while? One of them is also a guy I used to like (and i think he knew and thought i was weird) but he counts as people who made my senior year really count. I just thought i'd really like it if someone I havent seen in a while dropped by and gave me something like this. is this appropriate? or should i not? |
