Question: Best way to tell parents about having a boyfriend they won't approve of? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 02:20 PM PDT He's a great man and they like him as my friend... But he is a friend of my recently ex bf's and we are really close friends but my mom has told me before I should never date him because it's hurt my ex. But we really have a connection and have been together like a month now. I want to continue relationship and think I should tell them. I'm 18 but live at home and they believe in my house my rules so I know they will be mad. How do I handle this?
Posted: 08 Sep 2015 01:25 PM PDT BTW: He is 3 years older than me, I'm 17 he is 20 years old We talked through text at work for a about 2-3 week He is a native from Taiwan visiting US on visa. He introduce himself to me first. Then I asked for his number he gave it to me then I asked to hang out he agreed. He ask if he could bring his friends I said yes, We all had fun that day. I ask him about hanging out 1 on 1 :me and him He was always would say he's busy or he already planed his schedule for the week I said in text I want to get to know him before he leaves to go back to Taiwan. And he replied back in text, that we can still keep in contact when he goes back to Taiwan and he gave me his E-MAIL that's it no Facebook, cell phone or nothing just email. And then, when we met face to face for the last time he said We are not close enough yet, to hang out like that I need more time it has only been 2 months But I only have 2 weeks left we need more to get to know each other But I feel like he give off mix signal Example: situations with me and him Once we had to ride roller-coaster (work at a park) I was scared I told him he was a bit annoyed I was panicking I ask him if I can hold his hand, he put his hand out for me to hold But then the next time I still scared and ask again he told me hold his wrist Once I surprise him at his place and I got bored and fell asleep right next to on the bed while he was on computer And he never moved or said anything he just sat next to me
Posted: 08 Sep 2015 01:11 PM PDT This guy is actually really attractive. He's not super skinny but is very muscular and he approached me in my English class to ask if I wanted to go out some time. I said I'd think about it and he has asked me everyday since then. I've seen him around school and the only girls I see him with are really pretty and very thin. I am very concerned that he is just joking. He's not a totally stranger since I've had him for a few classes before and we have talked and worked together before but I wouldn't consider us friends or anything. I am a size 22 so I know I'm fat there's no sugar coating it. I am currently trying to lose weight but for now it is what it is. I have had many people ask me out as part of a dare. I even lost my virginity to my "ex-boyfriend" which ended up being a bet to see how fast he could get me in bed. Because of all this I am very wary of this guy. I talked to my best friend about this and he tells me I can't assume every guy will be the same and I will end up missing out on opportunities if I believe everyone's out to hurt me. Is there anyway you can know a person is sincere? Should I just tell him no and not risk it?
Question: Can the mother of my child control the circumstances of the visits? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 01:00 PM PDT I live in Indiana and have a nine-month old daughter with a woman I never married. The relationship with the mother has been contentious, at best, and I'm not even consistently allowed to see my daughter (I get one two-hour period every 4-5 days). Further, I am rarely allowed to leave the mother's house with my daughter. I have filed a petition with the court and have an appearance in nine days. But when the topic of court came up with the mother, she stated she was going to have my rights terminated or at the very least force supervised visits (I told her that even if supervised visits were ordered they wouldn't go on forever, to which the mother responded "oh I'll make them go on forever"). She has also shown a repeated unwillingness to work with my work schedule (I work 40 hours a week, but it is very irregular and often involves evenings and weekends). I know the court will settle this in just a few days, but I'm wondering so I can brace myself... can she bring about the end of my rights? Can she force supervised visits? Can she force me to have all of my visits in her house? Can she stop my new wife from interacting with the baby? If for some reason she has my rights ended, will that cause me and my wife (who is 7 weeks pregnant) to lose this baby? Does she have the absolute control that she says she has? Also, she said she is going to use my past against me. I was arrested twice while I was in the military by the post MPs in '08 (once because one of my friends violated an order from our commander and I knew and didn't say anything, the other was because I waited a day to report a crime... the second charge was dropped and the first was handled at the unit level). I used to be suicidal but that was a result of a divorce and I've had no problems in the last two years. Further, at one point I had a drug problem but have been clean for 18 months and have gotten treatment for it. She also said she was going to accuse me of sexual assault, but it didn't happen and I've never talked to any policemen about it. Lots of info, I know, but I figured people needed to know what was going on in order to make an informed decision.
Question: My fiance and i have a daughter together. But ever since she was born hes changed!.? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 12:53 PM PDT I had to quit my job and we moved 30 mins north to take on the roll as a stay at home mom that he always wanted me to be. I loved my job and wanted to go back to work but he insisted that my 200$ a week job wasnt worth it. But it paid the phone bills. Electric and water bills Im constantly stuck home due to not having a vehical or drivers license. All though he has 3 vehicals sitting in the yard and a new car that he just purchased. He never apends time with his daughter due to being a 24 hour locksmith and on his 1 day off he would rather work on his vehicals or yard and go out to his bimmer meets at night than spend time with her. Im constantly getting blamed and yelled at for everything. Even if he has a bad day at work. Im the blame. We are beganing to drown in bills and always complains about how lazy i am sitting around all day. Not cooking dinner cooked for him when he comes home (as i never know when hes gonna be home from work.) how he pays for everything. But yet i cant get a job thats under 600$ a week. I asked if i could get a vehical to drive to and from work when i found a job and he replys " i believe everyone should buy their own vehical" im constantly begging for 50$ to go grocery shopping with. And when we do go shopping he buys food that he likes and wants and i dont have a say in it. Im so lost and dont know what to do. I feel pushed around and walked all over. Like im not worth anything. Help.
Question: The greatest pain someone put you through yet you forgave them? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 12:37 PM PDT What was it? I am going through such a pain right now and I keep telling myself that I forgive this person and hold no resentment. I feel better when I do that. Listening to my heart. This world is full of ego and narcissists yet why not be good and let go rather than be like them and try to get equal. Do you agree with me on this?

Question: Stepsister creeps me out, hurts my baby sister? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 11:12 AM PDT Our dad's only been married a couple of months now. But these last two months have been hell. My baby sister is 6 and I'm 16. Our mom died 2 years ago. Originally, I was happy my dad was able to move on. I'm almost old enough to leave home and I know he would struggle with being a single parent. My stepmom isn't actually the problem, not really, well, both her and my dad sort of are. The biggest problem is my stepsister. She's 11 and acts really weird. She's also violent. She grabbed my sister by the arm one day and left bruises. Another day she tried to convince my sister to walk out in front of a car. Luckily, I was there and I intervened. It was the last time I did anything with her. Sometimes she glares at people. Like when my granddad came to visit. She wouldn't speak to him at all and it's not because she's shy, she was looking at him like he'd done something to her. She's also been in trouble in school for throwing a girls head against a wall and hitting teachers. As well as other things I don't know the details of, but know my stepmom was called in to discuss. I've tried talking to my dad, but he said things will get better and I should try including her more. But she freaks me out way too much and besides, I don't want to risk her seriously hurting my sister. Help! She punished her for the bruises on my sisters arm, sort of. She sent her to her room for an hour and made her apologize. Then she tried pushing them to play together. Apart from that, she doesn't seem to want to admit that her daughter has issues.
Question: First time dealing with heart break how to cope? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 10:59 AM PDT Hello I'm 21 years old and i've been with this girl for 4 years.Everything was going smooth at first because we both worked a pizza hut.I ended up quitting bc she kept doing inappropriate things with the managers which led to a humongous argument.Same thing when i found out she kept talking to her ex.After that things went smooth.I still stayed by her side despite all that.Until we found out that the guardian she lives with hasn't been paying their house bill. He doesn't have job, smokes/grows weed, and has a hooker over.so i panicked and rushed to get a full time job and eventually got a good one at an electrical company. She wanted me to start paying for her house but i thought why would i pay for a house i don't even live in.and my names not in the house. She got all mad at me for that but i told her that i'm her fall back if things go to ****.She refuses to leave pizza hut to find a better job or move from that house. Her guardian would sell there food stamps where i would rush to get them food bc they would literally have nothing to eat.I drive her everywhere bc she doesn't even have her permit and keep in mind i work 8-10 hrs plus go to school full time.I even paid for her dogs vet bill bc he was puking blood and she doesn't have enough money.I sacrificed so much for her bc i loved her so much. Answers won't let me put too much but basically she told me she lost feeling and was using me for a while and left me for another guy who all it took was post something on her fb.
Question: Are my parents being too selfish? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 10:40 AM PDT My aging parents are demanding that I settle down so they can get grand kids. Honestly that is not the lifestyle I want. I'm female, 32, and single. I dated in my early 20s, but at the end of the day I really feel more free and happy being alone. I really focused on my schooling and now have an awesome job that lets me travel sometimes. Plus I really only make enough to take care of myself. Also I'm too self-focused and would make a horrible parent. But basically my parents are desperate for me to be a housewife and want me to get married. They already have grandchildren from my brother's side, but for them that isn't enough. They blame me for being so independent. Am I at fault? I honestly really don't want kids or a spouse.

Question: Bad decision to bring my daughter to a party? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 10:16 AM PDT I'm a single dad, with a 5 year old daughter. My sister had a housewarming party a few nights ago. I brought my daughter along. Usually she's quick to warm up to people, not shy at all, but that night, she did not leave my side, hugged my waist the whole time and hardly spoke. I had to walk around with this girl attached to me. Why would she suddenly act shy?

Question: How long is too long to wait for an "I love you"? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 08:48 AM PDT My boyfriend and I have been dating since January and exclusive since mid may. We see each other regularly and talk nearly everyday. He's very affectionate and caring. I feel he loves me by his actions yet neither of us has said it. He has been out of an 8 year relationship that ended badly with his son's mom for more than a year and a half. And I've been split from a long term relationship for 4 yrs. He's the first guy I've felt love for since that relationship yet I'm scared he won't say it back if I do. I think he's treading lightly too due to How his relationship ended. Though we've met each others kids, we haven't met family or friends yet(he very briefly met my best friend). I feel while parts of our relationship are going fast, the saying I love you and meeting of family is going kinda slow. How long is too long to wait? Should I be worried?
Question: Can't decide between two girls help? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 08:48 AM PDT To make things easy girl A and Girl B. Girl A is someone who I have had a crush on do a couple years but don't really know if I like her. I know a little bit about her but would not say we are close or really friends. And it's more like I think she's pretty and like her that way. Girl B is one of my best friends I have right now. I've always liked her but have only recently admitted this to myself. I really like her as a friend and don't want to lose her as a friend if we dated and broke up. Please help.
Question: She has a thing for married men.. WWYD? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 08:11 AM PDT My neighbor who lives down the street seems to have a thing for married men.. we live in a small town and I first noticed this when the Sheriff who is married with 7 kids would park at her house for several hours a day a few times a week.. then my suspicions were pretty much confirmed when her daughter went to school and told my children that he was her mom's boyfriend.. I made a post about it on Facebook and someone took screen shots of it and sent it to the Sheriff.. LOL he confronted me on thru a FB message but since then I have not seen him down there once.. But I have noticed that a new married man has been spending a lot of time at her house, his wife is friends with my mom .. would you confront the mistress? would you tell the wife? Or should I stay out of it? Kinda hard to ignore when they live right down the road.. Sounds like you all are lacking morals.. Hopefully someone with some will read this and I can get a genuine answer.
Question: Should I ask or not ask? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 07:49 AM PDT I have been at my job now for 3 months and its going okay. But I have this co-worker that I sit next to that has been acting distant from me lately- maybe for the past month or so. Not really sure if she does this with other people. Anyway we used to talk a lot and have even hung out a few times. She is honestly not the kind of person that I would want to hang out with anyway (she used to be into drugs and smokes a lot- and I don't like that). I try not to take it personally and as far as I know I have not said or done anything to her, but we do not talk anymore and whenever I say Hi or Good Morning to her- its always a short Hi or "Morning" and that's it ......she has been giving me very short answers and stuff. I almost want to ask her, but I really do not like confrontation and I do not want to bring this to my mgrs. attn. I hope that its not personal, and I know that I said that she is really not they type of person that I would want to "clique" with......but the fact of the matter is, is that I sit right next to her and we report to the same mgr. What should I do? Ignore her? or confront her or what? Thank you!
Question: I don't have anything to say in most conversations? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 07:47 AM PDT I have been going through a almost spiritual change where I am trying to focus on me less as well as be a more positive person and since then, I've stepped back and have noticed that most conversations are either very negative and gossipy, or one where I feel I can't add anything to it. It is making my relationships weird because who wants to talk to a person who only listens and doesn't really talk? Are there others who deal with this too?
Question: Is he showing me signs that he is interested? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 03:35 AM PDT I used to work with this guy at my old job. We became great friends to the point where I think we kind of liked each other. He does have a girlfriend though. He did many things to show me he did like wearing my favorite color every time I saw him, to being concerned, encouraging me always, and just being friendly and really caring about me. While we were texting, he responded positively and always responds instantly to my texts. I now work at a new place in the same mall. He texted me asking how I was and said he would come visit me at my new job. Turns out he did come in on a day I wasn't working. My coworker told me about it like a week and a half later for some reason. It turns out he came in and asked if I was working (what was interesting is that he used my real first name to ask for me instead of my nickname when he has always used my nickname). Also, he handed out all of these coupons he had from where we used to work to all my coworkers which I thought was a nice gesture. Does he like me?

Question: Look...I wanna do something crazy.? Posted: 07 Sep 2015 09:49 PM PDT In the past 3 years or so 2 students from my high school have passed away from cancer. Currently there are 3 students, a teacher s wife and a teacher s daughter that have been diagnosed with cancer. Everyone knows we all lean forward and prepare to pounce to take action...but what really happens is we mourn. Mourning is normal and can be healthy, but at some point we need to take action. This is what I want to do. I m 16, ready for take-off, and willing to do anything for these kids. But where do I start? My first step is to converse with one of my very inspirational teachers about starting a fundraiser, and to donate money that I make from my own job...but what next? Any advice? Anything is appreciated. Those diagnosed do not deserve the financial, physical and immotional distress that this horrible disease puts them through...help me help.

Question: I refuse to date or get married ever. Does that mean my life will be awful? Posted: 07 Sep 2015 08:39 PM PDT I'll be going to grad school and will have to work extremely hard just to pass it and to hopefully get a decent job but even then that's not guaranteed anymore. And unless you're making a good living and you're 100% debt-free, I firmly believe you shouldn't date or get married because if you can't or barely can feed yourself, how will you ever provide for two of you and then probably at least one or two kids? I believe that people should never date or marry if they work horrid, crappy jobs like fast food or waiters or shoveling cow crap at farms/ranches or bagging groceries or that stuff. Because they need to be successful first. I know I sure wouldn't want to date or marry anyone who's unsuccessful, and I'm sure with them vice-versa if I'm not successful. So that's why I'm staying on the safe side by planning to be single forever, so then I can work on being successful. BUT....I'm afraid that if I do that, I'll end up dying alone and sad and bitter.

I used to have the app of snapchat and did something I truly hate my self for. I sent a inappropriate picture, a very inappropriate picture. I sent it to someone I felt almost in love with, yes I know I'm too young to young to know what love is, but I deleted the app and the account, I also told my mom/family. I need to know what people think about me. I need to know what you think about me. I kind of want the app again, but I'm scared. Should I just forget about getting the app? |

Question: My close friend is dating my ex? Posted: 07 Sep 2015 03:12 PM PDT So, I broke up with my girlfriend of four months in the beginning of Summer. Towards the end of Summer, I learn that one of my best friends is dating her. I don't know why this makes me so mad. And I don't even know if I want her back. I need opinions. Thanks! P.S. I do want her back, but I don't want to mess with her head and make her choose. Sometimes I feel like she wants me back too.
