I used to have a huge crush on a guy then he got a gf it hurt really badly and ever since I still think of him, not sure if hes still with the girl but I think of him a lot, not in a good way. I think about how hurt I feel about him and I often look him up on social media. I have stopped talking to him ages ago and seldom see him now. But why do I keep thinking of him if its only negative thoughts and its something I cant seem to control.

So we're in quarantine and me and my Roomie are friends. We roomed together freshman year of college and plan to get an apartment in the fall. We have this running gag where she teases me abt how my dog hates me and stuff  Today she sent me a meme and it was abt a dog and was saying how the dog gets love, attention, and food and still runs away from home and she said that would be my dog ( I think she was indicating that he runs away because of me ) I kinda took offense to this and sounded like she was being kind of hostile. I take everything to heart and think it was an attack on me or my looks ( which she's called me orettt before but also has contradicted that) but should I be offended by this? 

I know it's not ideal but with not being able to socialize I figure it's better then nothing. I am not into using dating sites to make friends.

Just this morning I found out my coworker, who was like a sister to me before we stopped talking took her life last night. Is it my fault because we stopped talking? I feel nothing but lost , torn, & guilt. We haven't talked since December 2019 :(

My friend lost her son in Iraq in 2005. Her son and my daughter were friends in high school. Tomorrow is mother's day and I can only imagine how painful it must be for a woman who lost her only son who was only 19 years old,especially that way. It's hard watching my daughter having her own family while my friend has only memories. I was thinking about just sending her a heart emoji. I wouldn't want to cause her sadness but I also don't want to completely ignore that this woman was a mother at some point..what would you do? husband says it's better not to text anything at all. I get where he's coming from but If I had a son who gave his life for our country I'd be glad people remember about him. Advice? Friend and unsupportive shouldn't go in the same sentence. However, I am friends for over a year now with another woman who runs - and is expected to run NYC Marathon if it happens. Even though we're very close, have hung out a lot, went to races together, she really never supports my present accomplishments. Most of my friends interact with me on social media or text since we can't hang out, but she never offers feedback when we talk. I ALWAYS give her props, and say I'm proud of her and support her, etc. I just don't feel like it's equal. What can I say to her? I feel like we don't connect any more on any other level and she's always inviting me to video chat when I have nothing to say since she no longer supports running. *She was also injured last year, so she's not running as much as when I met her. Maybe she is bitter and ca't relate?

Me and my 2 girlfriends want to take a senior trip somewhere nice, we want to stay domestic, we want somewhere with some party life but also things to do as we are all 18. Anyone have suggestions?  (NOT ASKING FOR PLACES IN 2020, we are looking for early next year)

My best friend and I play video games at least twice a week for around 8-9 hours each day, sometimes more, but he has started this new thing where he says "I don't care," "shut up," or "Who asked?" when I try to say something. We play with another person and he might do the same to them once or twice, but usually it's just me. Some days it happens once or twice or not at all, other days it happens probably at least 10-15 times in the call. It's gotten to the point where sometimes I feel like I can't talk or say anything and I take a little offense when I try to say something important. I know it's a joke and sometimes it is funny, but other times it gets a little out of hand and I feel uncomfortable speaking because its just me that he does this to. I decided to ask him to calm it down a little, and he took it as me being sensitive and asking him to stop completely. I feel bad now because he says he does that with other friends and we just have a different sense of humor and how that is just sad. Part of me feels like that was taking everything out of context and just a hurtful way to put it, but part of me thinks that I am being too sensitive. This is my best friend, and I heard that best friends never put each other down so I'm just conflicted about what to do now or if I even made the right call. I'm not a social person, but the last group of friends I had all hated me and made fun of me a ton, so I guess I'm just guarding myself or something. What do I do now?

If there was a friend you wished to not be friends with anymore and they kept texting you anyways would you just go ahead and block them? 

I have a good friend who asks me how much I pay for fairly standard items. Not toiletries or things that basic, but small indulgences like a theracane, a good brand of coffee beans, or (since the pandemic) 2 pairs of scissors for cutting hair. It's not indulgences like an expensive purse or a new car. For context, we spend entirely differently. I live in an apartment in the city, am single, and don't own a car. She lives in a far outer suburb in a house, and is married with 1 kid. That's a super simplistic way of illustrating we spend money in different ways and have different lifestyles. Does she ask out of a motive to compare? Genuine curiosity? I guess I'd never think to ask someone how much they pay for those kinds of items. I usually don't even remember what I paid because they're smaller items

I sent a letter to my friend who moved off for college and it's been a week since I've put it in the outgoing mail box and it hasn't got to her but she had sent one to me the same day I sent hers and I got hers literally 3 days after... is there a chance it's lost? 🙁

Ok in like 2 months is my 21st birthday. The thing is I don't really have friends or a girlfriend or anything I have one friend who is dumb and stupid. I'm not being mean but it is true one girl asked me if I'm doing anything big and I said I have no clue. What if she comes and it's just me and this other weird guy oh man that will not go down well. I really want new friends, real friends who can be trusted and not losers who never shower and break my stuff. It's upsetting not having anyone to talk to and my parents get on my nerves. The thing is people will probably look at me and think I have hundreds of friends because I'm always happy and I'm clean and not scruffy. But they have no idea that I'm I'm just a loner. It just makes me feel hopeless. What girl will want to talk to someone like me? If I had real friends then problem solved. What can I do?

First off: I sincerely hope for each and everyone of you who reads this that during this time of quarantine you have strived to become better men and women. If we do not strive to become better people, our lives will never change and we will keep repeating the same mistakes as before and our lives will never improve. Back to the main topic: Somenplaces have begun to open up again in certain areas, while others never really went into quarantine in the first place. Regardless, when do you think it will be safe for us to congregate again, be it for Church, parties, hiking trips, going on dates, or heck even something as simple as going to the bar and having an ice-cold brew? I sincerely hope things go back to being as they were before, but I hope that many in society will have made it their mission to become better people, and reconsider how they treat others. That might be wishful thinking on my part, but a man can dream, can he not?

I don't know how to start but lets say there's a girl named Stacey, we met when we were like 9, we were so close tbh, we had a bunch of things in common, but sadly we were only friends for like a couple of months because i had to move out, a year passed i never heard anything from stacey, and then again another year passed I started middle school, I remember the first day of school when my parents were dropping me off the first thing that went to my mind was stacey, so I went to my class and i saw some people that I knew from my elementary schools, but I was shooked when I saw stacey, i thought it was a coincidence, we started to hang out again blah blah blah we were friends again, until we got into a fight and didnt talked to each others, after like 6 months i guess we were starting to talk to each other again but we weren't close anymore, a year later i changed schools (my fav school c: I was going through so much **** in the other one, it was the same w this one ngl but things were calmer) anyways nothing happened again, didnt heard of her, 2 years later I keep seeing literally everywhere like at stores etc i dont know i just kinda thought it was weird, i regret writing this big *** paragraph       I meant I kept seeing her at places especially at stores

I have a severely sheltered and immature friend who is about 29 at the moment and still lives at home. Every time she tells me about her family and home life red flags appear everywhere. For example, her parents take the wifi router every night because they want her to get her sleep (She is 29 remember), also about 4 or 5 years ago her parents somehow convinced her to start putting all her money she earned from her jobs into their account!  So how can I help my friend through this? I know someone who is 33. He yearns for a kid but doesn't show interest in finding a spouse. At times he tells me how lucky he would be if he had a kid of his own. It's a friend I"m trying to help.

there is this girl in my class who has been giving me a hard time . she has a really unpleasant personality & everyone knows it , she acts like she is superior to everyone . it started when we were in class & she was saying some mean things about me which she was doing for a while and i finally got tired of her & said some things back . after that day she has been calling me mean words like "ugly" and saying unpleasant things about me making sure i can hear her , it's like she is trying to make my confidence go down . she has spread several lies about me & always tries to humilate me . she always talks about me with her friend . her & her friend have made threats against me . she looks for bad things to say about me & when good things happen to me she finds something bad to say . people have told me she must be jealous since she acts so obsessed with me , but i don't know . she also tries to make others dislike me . she always calls me ugly & says bad things about my body but a lot of other people say good things about me & my looks . whenever people say anything good about me she always says the opposite . her and her friend seem to hate me . she is always staring at me trying to find something to talk about . her and her friends gang up on me because i am a quiet girl who has friends in different classes .
