Question: My stepson swears at my house while playing video games. ? Posted: 13 May 2020 01:05 PM PDT So my stepson who is 21 is living at my one bedroom apartment. My boyfriend brought him here temporarily while he makes a plan for his life. He spends most of his time in front of the tv playing video games and lately he keeps using bad language and swearing. He's like "**** you, *****" and uses really nasty words. I can hear him all the way from my room. He's just not considerate that he's not the only person that lives in this house, which is not even his. He's just a guest. My boyfriend has never told him anything and I think he doesn't care. If I ever say something about his son, he gets annoyed because he wants me to like him, even if he's a loser in my eyes. I feel like I can't speak up at my own house. And it's my boyfriend the one that should discipline his son, not me. My stepson also does not contribute financially so he should be more respectful and grateful instead of acting immature. How can I make him be more respectful while he's here? He has entitlement issues. He eats everything without leaving some for others and even used my home address without asking my permission for his correspondence. |
Question: Is it wrong/bad to have a child out of wedlock? Posted: 13 May 2020 01:00 PM PDT I would like to hear your stance and why. I was born out of wedlock and it has always been a close subject to me. |
Question: Are any of you estranged from a brother or sister? If so, why? Posted: 13 May 2020 12:48 PM PDT |
Posted: 13 May 2020 11:08 AM PDT I was abused sexually by my half brother when I was four so I cannot live with my mother anymore (my dad and mom split up) and right now my family situation is terrible. (I have asked this question before but my plan to call CPS failed because my parents took my phone away). I am 14, and will be 15 soon BTW. Anyway, my parents always call me names like a b i t c h or a c u n t or s l u t because of little things that I do wrong, such as arguing. Anyway, every time we get in a fight this happens and sometimes it will get physical. My dad will sometimes tackle me and stomp on my face with a shoe (but this left no marks) and do things like kick my in thee ribs (also no marks) but once he gave me a bloody nose and when I was little put a knife to my head. However, he is not the only one. My stepmom slapped me and broke my last pair of glasses, and she gave me a black eye and a bloody nose. However, I must admit because of all of this I have told them that I hated them and wanted to kill them so they use this against me. I have a recording of them and I sent it to my email, but since a lot of the abuse is just verbal and sometimes, well a lot of the time physical I have no idea if they will take me seriously. Also my dad has also threatened me, I am not saying that what I did was right at all but I am just saying that's where I got it from. So is this legally abuse? |
Question: Why does my Mom assume I know everything about pop culture? ? Posted: 13 May 2020 10:59 AM PDT I'm really it sure why this bothers me. Because im one of those people that are out of the loop with most things and I'm 25. My mom was saying how my sister's kids were coming over to swim and then watch Frozen 2. I then asked "Wow there's a frozen 2? I didn't know that" My mom then freaks and says "well I don't know if that's what it is whatever number it is". |
Posted: 13 May 2020 10:41 AM PDT My friends tell me that my dad forgot to wear a condom for sure. My parent are 34 and 36 and I am 16. I haven't asked them about this and I probably won't because it's a bit awkward. If further info is needed ok. They were not married when they had me and were both studying to my knowledge. |
Question: How to avoid my dad? Posted: 13 May 2020 08:37 AM PDT I hateeeee him sooooo much.He want me to spent all my free time studying,he just sit next to me to make sure I'm studying...i just want him to leave me alone!!!!!! |
Posted: 13 May 2020 07:18 AM PDT So during this lockdown it has been torture between me and my mam. It's only us 2 in the house and sometimes we get on fine but I've noticed she keeps doing things which makes me feel bad. I'll give you an example... So yesterday I went for a job interview at my local hospital and my mam took me however today I got told I didn't get the job which I was upset about so I told my mam today I'm going to be applying for more jobs so that I at least have something else to back me up. She was fine with this at first but then she told me she wanted to cut the grass and do the garden and asked if I would help her so I said yes but it's been raining so will it even be worth it... she got annoyed and then started slamming about but said the grass was too wet so she isn't going to do it. Then she came back in later and asked me to cut her hair for her so I said I'd do that but I need to get back to my job applications so half way through her hair she took a tantrum and said it didn't matter and to leave it. She's now not speaking to me, giving me horrible looks across the garden while CUTTING THE GRASS?! When she said she wasn't going to? I'm only applying for jobs and didn't think I was doing anything wrong? I feel like she's done it on purpose to make me feel bad that I'm not helping her now. I know this sounds sooo petty and it might be just because we are getting sick of each other but I've noticed she does this quite a lot and I think it's quite manipulative. Please someone explain? |
Question: Did I do something wrong with my sisters ex husband? Posted: 13 May 2020 07:16 AM PDT I was at a restaurant waiting to be seated when my sister's ex husband Sam walked in. He saw me and came over and give me a hug. We had a brief conversation and he asked me to join him for dinner as his guest. He asked how long it would be before we could be seated and they told him 45 minutes to an hour. He suggested we go someplace where we could be seated sooner. We went across the street to Ruth's Chris steak house restaurant. We were seated immediately. When I saw the menu I knew why there was not a wait to be seated. The CHEAPEST item on the menu was $50. Sam saw my discomfort and said ignore the price. Order what you want and I did. It was the BEST meal I ever had in my life. I thought it might be awkward having dinner with my sister's ex husband but it wasn't. We had a great meal, great conversation, and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. As we were leaving it just slipped out of my mouth. I said this was a lot of fun, can we do it again some time. He said call me any time. When I got home, Oh My God, I realized what I had done. I had asked him for a date sometime in the future. What was I thinking? Should I tell my sister and ask her if she is OK with it. If not, should I forget the whole thing. She doesn't tell me who she dates so should I tell her who I date. As you can see I am REALLY CONFUSED about what I should do. Advice please. Thanks. |
Question: Why do parents raise their expectations for their kids as they get older? Posted: 13 May 2020 06:47 AM PDT if their expectations don't change or their expectations were lower, it would be easier for their kids to meet their expectations and when the kid meets their expectations the parents are happy and the kids are less stressed and happy too. Aim low and avoid disappointment |
Question: My sister doesn’t want me to stay with her? Posted: 13 May 2020 04:39 AM PDT I went to go see her new home and my baby's father and I want to relocate. She has a home too big for her to mention. I have 6 kids and a dog and they are well behaved. I always thought family is there for family. So I'm really hurt behind this. Should I text her and ask why? And explain more to her? |
Posted: 13 May 2020 12:08 AM PDT Recently my wife passed away in the hospital. My 4 year old daughter keeps saying she wants mom to read her a bedtime story , and my heart just keeps breaking every time I lie and say she's still stuck in the hospital :( What the hell am I supposed to tell her? |
Posted: 12 May 2020 11:51 PM PDT We have 2 kids that are 5 months old and 6 but I just don't feel like I'm ready for kids or like its a good time in my life for that. Once lockdown is over I'm moving to LA to try to pursue my dreams of being a famous country singer. I tried to do this a long time ago but my first born got in the way, and I, for a long time, have felt like I cant take care of it or Im not a good dad. Anyways, the other day it asked me if it could come with me to LA , as it heard my plans of leaving, and I just felt bad becuz that cant happen. I have been so intimidated by this new baby and with everything going on... I just can't handle it anymore. My girlfriend has a lot of money(shes a doctor) and I also have a good job, so its not like Im leaving her broke but I still feel kind of bad. Anyways, does anyone know when this lockdown will be over? (I live in farmington hills michigan) or does anyone know when I can buy a flight to LA? I didn't ask for your opinion on my plans, answer the question or don't say anything. |
Question: Should I still venture in LA? Posted: 12 May 2020 11:31 PM PDT I have been in a Los Angeles for over 3 years moving from Florida and I love it so much. There's so much to do in city and i have learned so much about me. But over the time I have been here I have not met anyone that I really enjoy their company. The majority of the people I have met have been very rude to me and not welcoming at all. It has got so bad to the point I started to think should I move out cause no one seems to mesh with me. I literally wake up happy everyday but once I start remembering I have to interact with the people my mood goes down. So I was wondering when it comes to this matter what should be the best thing to do. |
Question: How do i tell my mom she caused my trauma? Posted: 12 May 2020 10:44 PM PDT i grew up in a dysfunctional family. my dad was the main causer of my trauma, but my mom was apart of that too. now a days, me and her are on good terms, but a lot of times she tells me that i was a stereotypical i hate my parents teenager. i was not one of those teenagers. i was like that because i was abused and she was apart of that. i dont know how to explain that to her. in the past i have told her some of the things she did that traumatized me, but she didnt believe me, saying she doesn't remember that happening. how can i tell her yes that happened, and that some of it was her fault? |
Question: Why does my mom is around me everytime i go to the kitchen? Posted: 12 May 2020 10:20 PM PDT whenever i'm getting food, my mom will come into the kitchen just to see what i'm going to eat. This makes me really uncomfortable, my mom is fat. |
Question: My daughter is so immature, what can I do to help stop this? Posted: 12 May 2020 10:09 PM PDT I have a teenager and she acts very immature. She is always calling out my name and asking for things such as "Mom, make me coffee, Mom please bring me the charger, Mom this and that". I only comply because I know she has a lot of school work and it must be stressing, especially right now, but it's honestly getting ridiculous how much she calls me for things. I've tried stopping but she's just so insistent that I have to give in for her to stop calling me, should I just completely stop helping her and wait until she does it herself? Will she eventually give up if I don't give in for a few days? She's also started cursing if I don't give her what she wants. Is it normal for teenagers to act this way? She needs to do all these things for herself, even if she is busy. |

Question: Is there any way to get around this strict law my parents created? Posted: 12 May 2020 09:43 PM PDT So basically me and my siblings got caught fake sleeping and using our phones at 2 a.m and not my parents created a rule that every single night at 11:30 PM our bedtime , we have to drop our phones in our parents room. Im 16 turning 17 next month , and I don't think it'll will be possible to convince our parents to drop this rule or come up with a plan to convince them too. Any advice? Edit: I also got caught today and now I lost my phone for one week.. Im thinking my parents might forgot but idk. |
Question: My parents won’t accept my gang lifestyle. What should i do? Posted: 12 May 2020 09:05 PM PDT I know it's lame asking this on yahoo answers, but hear me out. I'm 18 and I recently made new friends who are gang members, they are a part of a crew and I know being friends with them did change me a lot, they influenced me to be who I am today, I listen to rap now, I smoke, I dress differently, and I have realized this is who I am. My friends are my bros and I would die for them, I want to get jumped in but my parents dissapprove. What should I do? |
Question: Does my family rely on me? Posted: 12 May 2020 08:22 PM PDT I started freelancing a couple of years ago and I am just doing it to save for a place to live with my finance. My sisters son asked me if he can join the business with me and I said no. No because he is too young and no because I only like 1 person business. Plus, my plans are to have a family soon. Now this kid resents me and does not go do anything with his life because I didn't help him. Is this normal? |
Posted: 12 May 2020 07:48 PM PDT He is also extremely ignorant and was AWFUL to his parents and grandparents but thankfully they had me to reach out. |
Question: Is this weird? ( see details )? Posted: 12 May 2020 06:25 PM PDT my boyfriends mom has 3 children younger than my boyfriend (he's the oldest). he helps out a lot since their father sits around all day and yells at them. but his parents are in the process of a divorce and the dad is no longer staying at their house. i'm not supposed to know the details but my boyfriend told me because he needed to get it off his chest. would it be weird if i offered my help as a second pair of hands to help out with his siblings and such?? |
Question: Is this normal or assault ? Posted: 12 May 2020 05:22 PM PDT I got choked out, slapped and beaten by my brother for nothing and he also lied on me We are both males btw |
Posted: 12 May 2020 04:56 PM PDT My 5 year old son did something that I got angry about, I told him to go downstairs to his grandma's room and that "I don't want to see your face right now". I feel terrible, was that super awful to say to him? |

Question: 32 moving home with parents ? Posted: 12 May 2020 04:32 PM PDT I'm 32 I'm recently divorced with no children. I am a 1st grade teacher at a private school that just announced they are closing their doors for good after we finish this school year. Due to COVID-19, the public school district in my area has announced an indefinite hiring freeze until further notice. I live in an area that is very seasonal and tourist based. There is very little "industry" here outside of hospitality and it's very low pay. My entire family is 12 hours from here and the only reason I live here is because of my now (ex) husbands job transfer. I'm strongly considering moving home with my parents but I feel slightly embarrassed to be doing so at my age. Financially, I'm ok for a good 6 months but after that if I don't have employment it could be a very big problem. Should I just chalk it up as a loss and move home? I'm feeling really depressed and defeated right now. I don't know if I am going to have the same luck everywhere finding employment. Im really scared and I don't know what to do. If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. |
Question: What should I do about my mother in law? Posted: 12 May 2020 07:57 AM PDT If you ask anyone to describe my mother in law Jill, they most probably would say "beautiful". If someone ask me to describe Jill, I would say she is the best mother in law any guy can have. She is always there if my wife and I need help with anything and she is the nicest person you will ever meet. One day at work, she came by to ride home with me. I introduced her to some of my co workers. The next day these co workers asked me if she was married. I told then no. They ask me if I would fix them up with a date with Jill. I told them someone as beautiful as Jill did not need her son in laws help getting dates. She can get all the dates she wants without anyone's help. My co workers then ask me if I would bring her to the bonus day party they were having after work next week so they could get to know her better. I don't know if I should do that. They would enjoy the party more if she was there as she is really a fun person to be around. Do you think a woman would be interested in guys that are a least 10 years younger than she is? Should I stay out or her love life and ignore their request even if there are some real great guys that want to get to know her better? What should I do? |
