Question: When I was a little kid, crying a lot, in bed, my mom would say "dry it up" is this toxic? Posted: 30 May 2020 02:14 PM PDT I originally came from a crack addicted ,bio mother, and a rough 1st year of my life. also,my adoptive mom (while she ment well) she has said things like "you look retarded" when I waved at a principel in the office after we left and she had a talk with me. are these considered "toxic" words from my mom that have partly caused my low self esteem? im not saying she is a bad parent, just think she was not thinking trough sometimes ment to say she said "you looked retarded" |

Question: Did I give my cousin good advice. Your opinion please.? Posted: 30 May 2020 12:47 PM PDT I am a 20 year old guy with a female 35 year old cousin Ann. She is gorgeous. When she was in high school she won several beauty contests. My guess is she is a 34G. We became very good friends since she was divorced 2 years ago and now she told me she wanted to start dating again and since she had not dated in 16 years she wanted a man's point of view on some things. She asked me which guys prefer long or short hair? I told her it didn't really matter much but in general most guys have a slight preference for long hair. She wanted to know if she should dye her hair blonde. I told her any color of hair on her would look good as she was a beautiful woman. She wanted to know if her big boobs were a turnoff for guys I was a little uncomfortable talking about her boob size but I told her the truth. Most guys like big boobs and hers were just fine. I am just 20. I need guys with more experience to tell me if I give her good information. |

Question: My grandfather expects me to mow the lawn because I'm a boy? Posted: 30 May 2020 10:44 AM PDT Am I the only one who thinks this is backwards? I have two sisters, and whenever the grass needs to be mowed or whenever leaves need to be picked up or whenever a tree's branch needs to be trimmed he'll ask why I didn't take care of it. I'll say that it's my sister's turn, which is true. he'll respond by saying, "But you're a boy. You should do it. You have to learn how to take care of the garden." I don't even know how to respond to that. he's said things like since I was 8, I'm 16 now, and it annoys the h*** out of me.Whenever I have chores, I do them. Why does he expect me to do all the work? How should I respond when he says things that? Thanks for any help :) |

Question: Dad gossips too much and always dragging me into family drama.? Posted: 30 May 2020 08:03 AM PDT My parents divorced about 15 years ago and my dad went to jail due to domestic violence so he was not in my life growing up. Now I'm an adult and he act super clingy wanting to take me out to eat all the time and texting and calling me and when I can't answer he calls me back to back in a row for no reason. He is getting on my last damn nerves. Then to add to it he still gossips about my mom and her family not only to me but other people as well and claims that he doesn't "like them" but acts fake to their face and calls them and tells them everything. He acts like a girl and gossips too much and I'm getting too old to be following him around hanging out with him like a little girl , wish he would leave me alone or just chill a little. And he is being messy and adding my name into his senseless drama . Tips on how to do with this? |

Question: Is anyone else annoyed by this George Floyd nonsense? Posted: 30 May 2020 01:17 AM PDT Like I get it it was a tragic case and the cops should go to prison forever but it's over why are these insane freaks thinking burning down buildings is going to solve anything. i'm sick of it appearing on everyone's story and stuff like we get it you aren't solving anything by doing that stupid people, obviously black lives matter we are all equal we've been equal since the 1960s these people need to shut up and realize their already equal to us obviously black lives matter and it's been that way for 50 years like just go away what the heck do these people think and for example, if george floyd was a white man and this happened i guarantee it's wouldn't have even reached the news, this is political crap and people should learn to ignore it nothing like this with white people ever reaches the news, it's all political nonsense |
Question: What should a person with a liberal mind do in a strictly conservative country? Posted: 30 May 2020 12:53 AM PDT I'm a female. I'm nearly 20 and so far, I've pretended to be like everyone else, because I'm at college right now and I have a part time job which cannot fully support my needs and I'm still partly dependent on my family's money, though I moved to a dorm when I was 18. I need to act according to my family's standards to be supported by them. I am an aspiring writer and actress, studying acting and fisheries engineering at the same time. Those who have read my writings, say that I remind them of George Sand and they believe, I have a rebellious character, yet to be fully revealed. My family doesn't approve me to become an actress, but I fought with them since the age of 13 to let me follow my dreams and they finally gave up arguing with me when I was 19 and I have recently entered the acting school. But my mom keeps saying:"In the film industry, you'll be forced to have sex with the crew! You'll be forced into nudity in front of the camera!". She just has no idea how the film industry works and there are contracts which are available for all those who take part in a project to state their preferences. Anyways...I don't argue with my family anymore...I'm just sick of arguing. I live in Mexico, but I'm going to apply for online dramatic arts courses abroad to get a better degree and increase my chance to move out of my country. And yes, I can follow three programs at the same time, because my acting classes take only a year or so to finish. Am I doing the right thing? |
Question: Why is my girlfriend sometimes annoying? Posted: 29 May 2020 11:37 PM PDT ok, don't get me wrong I love her so so much but she can get annoying sometimes as I can be to her. What is annoying about her is she nitpicks at me and sometimes I will get annoyed at it. I have 2 computers and one is a laptop and a desktop and I use the desktop for work and she comes in the room and sit by for a few mins and then ask if she can use it. I am working on it so I can't really let her use it so I say after I am done with this so she stays quiet a bit and then keeps repeating herself. She will be like "Can I use it, Can I use it" Over and over again so I jump a bit at her and say " Stop you can use the laptop". I don't know if she does it cause shes knows it gets to me but it's annoying. Another thing is that we were far away from home and I tell her to use the bathroom before we leave so she doesn't have to go later she says ok but she didn't. Kinda like the computer thing she does the same thing she had to go to the bathroom after I told her to go before we left she keep saying " I gotta go" Over again and that was annoying because he ended up peeing herself. She blamed it on me too saying that I should have stop and I even said I would pull over for her but she said no stop at a place and there was none to be seen. I don't know she is only sometimes annoying why? I mean I love her so much she can be annoying but I still can't be without her. I support her and give her what she want's and I find her more adorable than annoying but she can be annoying. |
Question: Embarrassing?? Hurt?? I don't know how I am supposed to react....? Posted: 29 May 2020 09:41 PM PDT Before the age of five, I was molested by my uncle. I blocked it out of my memory for years, but little things would set me off to react physically violent towards other people (when I was young and it was still happening). When I was older he always threatened to hurt me and tried to kill me a few times. I never said anything because I was scared he'd try to hurt my family, or that they wouldn't believe me. Fast forward 15 years...I have left living in the same home as him (yes we shared a house) and swore to myself Id never see him again. However, five years ago I posted on his child-counciiling website (yes...hes a molestor and also a child counselor, the irony) that he was a child molestor. I didn't think anything about what I had posted, I just wanted to "get him back" as much as I could at the time. HOWEVER...RECENTLY his daughter saw the post who showered him and then showed our grandmother who showed my dad and now I don't know what I should do. I tried to tell my dad when I was younger but he didnt believe me....but now, he always tells me to come "home" because he's gone and has started treating me different and being nice or getting me things. What do I do? Im too embarrassed to say anything because no one will respond and their family is not emotional and ignored these things...they are also extremely weird and psychologically odd. I've distanced myself from all of them except my dad but I don't know how to feel or how to react or if im even "safe" from my uncle |
Question: Is there something wrong with my mother or something wrong with me?? Posted: 29 May 2020 09:09 PM PDT Hi I'm 20 years old and currently a junior in college. Because of covid, I left campus and have been living with my mom. I left her house when I was 17 and told myself I would never live with her again. She acts extremely childish and likes to team up with my younger sister to make fun of me and say things like "HAHA its funny bc YOURE THE JOKE!" She does not seem to be able to carry on a normal conversation, and if I ever pour out my heart or ask her question she just goes silent and doesn't respond; somehow she always manages to change the subject to be about her. A year ago I needed my passport and SSN card and she refused to give it to me, I finally lied and said id give it back as soon as I was done using it. But when I went to pick it up a week later she completely forgot and told me I was "a f**** liar and there was something wrong with me and I needed to get my Shi* together and never come back." she irritates me by constantly talking to herself or saying completely random things or doing something to get attention, then when I get an attitude she blames everything on me. Whenever she sees me she tells me to stop being so emotional even if I didnt say or do anything. She thinks that everything great Ive done is because of her and everything bad is my fault and my dads fault for some reason. She constantly repeats herself, so that I know exactly what she's going to say next and yet she thinks she's a genius. How do I handle this? Do I need to do something different? |
Question: 8 month old baby won't sleep? Posted: 29 May 2020 08:35 PM PDT My younger sister had a baby 8 months ago and ever since COVID-19 happened my parents and I have been taking care of him (since his father works with the public) and lately he hasn't been going to sleep at night; He'll stay up until 2 or 3 am and nothing we do seems to help. Any tips or anything? |

Question: My mom doesn't care about me? Posted: 29 May 2020 06:49 PM PDT She just leaves me to fend for myself even though she knows I need help. She looks at me funny and laughs at me. She lets people bully me and leaves me alone with strange people. She's always done this even when I was a child. |
Question: Why did my mom let me stay in the house for years? Posted: 29 May 2020 06:45 PM PDT She never tried to make me go outside. If my siblings don't go outside for even a day she makes them go outside. I don't understand why she never made me go outside. I feel like she doesn't care about me. |
Question: How do I handle this? ? Posted: 29 May 2020 05:19 PM PDT Upon her request I looked on my little sister's cabinet to take a pic of an insurance doc. While there I found a receipt for an HIV test. This is where I should mention we are a Christian family so to find out your little sister is sexually active is shocking to say the least. Should I ask about it, let mom know or leave it alone? |
Question: Does my dad hate me?!? Posted: 29 May 2020 05:04 PM PDT I'm not really close to either of my parents but I go to college now and am home for the summer. we were in the car going to my aunts house and he was telling my mom abt my sister going to college ( he didn't think I could hear ) and he was saying how he thinks he could get scholarships and stuff like that. He also said he didn't want her to go too far. He already shows favoritism to my sister which bothers me. He buys her whatever she wants I go to college 4 hrs away and he has no problem with it. We've been with family a lot and he'll ignore me. I'll even be sitting by myself trying to join a convo and nothing. He takes everything out on me! I'll come out of my room sometimes and walk all the way downstairs and he won't say one word to me unless he needs me to do something, whereas if my sister does it then he'll joke and stuff with her and tell her how he loves her. I sometimes feel like a disappointment I got into every college I applied but sometimes I still don't feel good enough. I found out today that I have to go back to college early and my dad told my sister and I walked downstairs ( he didn't think I could hear ) and they were all excited which hurt me. When I confronted them my dad accused me of always getting mad Later I was reading and he was joking with my sister and I told him I was reading and he told me to shut up and called me miserable and hateful. I fired back because I was hurt and I am tired of being treated this way. what should I do? |
Question: Is it really true that boys look more like their mom, and girls look more like their dad? Posted: 29 May 2020 04:51 PM PDT I was hanging out with a few friends last night and we had a few drinks , after a bit genetics and parents get into the conversation and all of my friends were talking about how sons look more like their mom and daughters look and basically all my guy friends said they resemble their moms and all my *girl* friends said they resemble their dad but then I told my friends that it isn't always true because I'm a guy and I look exactly like my dad and instantly one of the girls my *girl* bestfriend brought with her said that's impossible because ALL sons look like their mom and said I was being ridiculous and I was wrong so i showed everyone and her a pic of my dad and everyone agreed that i was a stunning image of my dad and she started randomly arguing with me cussing at me saying that must be my brother or something and it got to the point that she picked up a Hennessy bottle and threw it at my head (thank god shemissed) and my friends had to calm her down (shes also a feminist, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it) and the rest of the night kind of ruined my vibe, also why would she act like that and get so mad just because I look like my dad it makes no sense to me? |
Question: My father thinks I don’t love him? Posted: 29 May 2020 04:48 PM PDT We found out my dad has been having an emotional affair with my moms first cousin, right under our noses. We had offered this woman our home after some complications in her family, and she stayed with us for a while. After my mom confronted my father, he refused to show her his phone but she saw that they had been texting 30+ times a day. He left us, his two kids, during the pandemic and found a new apartment already. Anyway, he won't admit to what he did. My mom and him met at a safe distance to discuss finances, and he still has to support us, his kids. But he said he wouldn't pay for our home and implied he doesn't care if we don't have a roof over our heads. My mom has health problems, as does my almost 70 year old grandma who lives here, so neither work (my mom took care of us since my dads always at work and my grandma watches over our great grandma who lives here) and my dad was the sole provider. We now have nothing, and only have enough cash saved for a few months. They can't go to court right now because of the virus. I texted my father saying "So (my brother) and I aren't your responsibility anymore?" I just repeated something he said. He replied with "I'm not texting you, now I know how much you love me". He's been manipulative for years and constantly tells me I can't do anything, as well as shown favoritism towards my younger brother. I just need some insight, is there anything I should do, any advice? Did I do anything wrong? |
Question: Why are they like this? Posted: 29 May 2020 04:00 PM PDT I had a conversation with my uncle the other day. I was sad because I had to go through an abortion and he was like tell me why you're sad and I said that I couldn't share because it was personal. And by the expression on his face I could tell that he figured out that it was abortion. So right away he tells his wife of course. How do I know? Because the next day she comes over and mentions abortion in front of me on purpose and then looks at me to see my reaction to see if that's what it is. Like why would she wanna know or care about it? Does it make her feel better that I had to go through immense pain? I shouldn't have ever said anything to my uncle (my moms brother). Why are they like that? Obviously I cannot trust them. |
Question: What is a good graduation gift for my nephew? Posted: 29 May 2020 02:44 PM PDT I can spend $100 to $200 if I want to but I don't know what to get. He was a good student, and missed out on sports his senior year but he doesn't talk, so it's hard to know what to get him. What are some good suggestions? |
