Question: How do people enjoy wedding planning? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:24 AM PST So far it hasn't been anything but a big, depressing, headache for me. We're having a very small wedding. 20 people max. We're having a ceremony at an outdoor venue, then a celebration at a nice restaurant. Which they can join or opt out, but we cannot afford to pay for everyone's dinner. Just the cake and champagne. But between all the planning. The ceremony location, the restaurant, the cake, the rings, the tux, the photographer, the invites, and the fact that having a tiny wedding and opting out of a full on reception...we're still going to be spending a lot of money. We thought about eloping but we do really want our close relatives and close friends there with us. It's just not fun. I'm not enjoying it in the least. Being broke, not having a clue on how to plan, and having zero help from anyone. I'm not feeling excited like I so badly want to feel... I don't know how to stop feeling this way. I want to be looking forward to my wedding day...but I cannot seem to.. We are providing and champagne and cake for everyone who will be at the after ceremony celebration. We literally cannot afford to do a traditional reception. The minimum venue rentals are $500-$1000. Not to mention all the other expenses. That's why we're not having a reception. Just a dinner that people can attend if they want. We live in an apartment. We don't have a yard... Also, I'm not looking for wedding ideas. I'm asking how people deal with the emotions. We already know what we want to do. I'm not looking for ideas. Just asking if anyone else has experienced wedding planning blues. Thank you |
Question: Where to buy an engagement ring? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 06:25 AM PST Where is the best place to buy an engagement ring? I know my girlfriend wants one, and I do want to give her one. I just didn't realize how expensive they are. I know she said you have to be careful once before that you don't get ripped off. She was talking with a friend how someone she knows spent 2000 on a ring, and it was a bad diamond that was low grade. The pawn shop didn't even want it. Someone told me Walmart is just as good as any other place, Another person told me just go to a regular jewelry store like Kays. I was told if you go to a chain store, you're going to be paying for the name. I know she liked a ring on Facebook that was on an online store, but that was about 10000 ring. I am so lost, and more confused. She seems to like the vintage style stuff I think. |

Question: Question about 4 dresses and my body type? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 11:49 AM PST My body type is a pear shape. Would a sweetheart neckline look good on me? Would these three dresses look good on me? Is the David's bridal dress an A-line dress and what type of neckline is it? I will post the links to the 3 dresses and the link to the David's bridal dress below. Thank you so much for your help I really appreciate it. :-) https://www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Princess-Strapless-Floor-Length-Satin-Bridesmaid-Dress-With-Ruffle-Beading-Sequins-007000982-g982?filterColor=burgundy#/ https://www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Princess-Sweetheart-Sweep-Train-Chiffon-Bridesmaid-Dress-With-Beading-Cascading-Ruffles-007004180-g4180?filterColor=burgundy#/ https://www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Princess-Sweetheart-Floor-Length-Chiffon-Bridesmaid-Dress-With-Beading-Cascading-Ruffles-007001085-g1085?filterColor=burgundy#/ https://poshmark.com/listing/Davids-Bridal-Bridesmaid-Prom-gown-strapless-5dd029e419c15709b7f8ba6e |
Question: Traditional chinese wedding? Posted: 28 Jan 2020 12:25 PM PST My family is cantonese and my boyfriend is fujianese. Lately, the topic of marriage came up, and my mom asked my bf what's the traditional way of a FJ wedding. My bf told her usually the bride's parents gifts the groom money as a way of saying now their daughter is in his hand, he would be helping the parents take care of their daughter. But my mom said the cantonese way is the groom gifts money to the bride's parents as a way to show that he would love the bride's parents as his own and help the bride take care of her family as needed. My mom is upset that my bf doesn't believe in the money gifting idea. She said that there's no way she'll let me married off if he doesn't give money. Not that my mom is aiming for the money, but she feels that the groom should be responsible and show that he would take care of his wife's parents too. I don't know what's the correct way to this... My bf was born and raised in the US so he doesn't see how it is ideal to gift money. He feels like that is saying I'm being sold to him like a property, putting a price on me. I am less Americanized so I understand my mom's view but I also do see my bf's view. That's why I don't know what to do in this situation. |
Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:05 PM PST I would feel like I am in orbit, because there is only 30 guests and it is being held at a golf club, not a church or chapel. I figured after she hands me her flowers I will just sit down as well as the best man. The pastor will be there and it will be a 45 minute standing period which would be hard on anyone's feet. What would you all do? Please, help. |
