Question: Is it a bad idea to want to move to another state after graduating? ? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:50 PM PST I'm 17 and currently a senior in HS. After graduating hs I was planning to get a job and save up some money so I could move to Mexico. My entire family, (who I've never met before), lives there. My parents are also from there, but moved to the US and I was born here, I'm also an only child. I just don't think I'd be comfortable living in the US all alone. (My parents said they plan on moving back when they're older). I like living here, but I also want to meet my family and preferably don't want to live the rest of my life away from them. Is this a bad idea? |
Question: Does my brother and sister have a valid argument? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:49 PM PST I have a sister and a brother. When all 3 of us graduated from high school, mom and dad told us they would pay for any addition schooling we wanted. I chose to go to college. My sister chose to go to beauty school which mom and dad paid for and my brother chose not to get any additional schooling and immediately get a job. It is now 10 years later and at family gatherings we have this disagreement. My brother and sister want mom and dad to give them an equal amount of money they spent paying my way to college. Mom and dad refuse. They say they gave us a choice and we have to live with the choice we made. My brother and sister's latest argument is that I should give them the amount of money mom and dad spent on my college education because I am now very successful and I can afford it. I am not inclined to do that. Do my brother and sister have a valid argument? |
Question: My mom makes me feel like ****.? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:09 PM PST My mom told me I'm a good for nothing. She likes to make me feel bad and told me that my heart and mind are rotten. I told her that I wanted to kill myself and she said she didnt care she said that she doesnt want me to do it in her house. I pushed her really hard because she kept hitting me on my head with her hand and she told me I never respect her. No one loves me not my dad or mom. I feel so lonely in the world. My mom and my sister always makes me fun of me pulling my eyelashes (pulling disorder) she said I look like I have cancer, they always mimic me. I no longer want to live. |

Posted: 08 Feb 2020 11:19 AM PST Dad talk about new co-worker of his that is in his 40s him & his wife want to have kids, my dad said to my mom "They adopted, one the mom abusive they even have it on video. They also are still going to try for their own kid, they are going through process giving her fertility treatment" he was close to walking out then said "its $16.000 around there" my mom responded "oh yea for that its a lot". My dad only knows this guy so why keep mentioning about this? Its weird how he spoke about the price like did my dad ask? Or was he telling my mom in a way if they wanted to do it? But I believe my dad said these people dont really have money. Last time my dad told my mom about them trying to have kids my mom was like "thats sad because when the kid grows up the parents will be 60s". My dad stood quiet. Then my mom told me I said it sounds crazy & she was a little defensive. My mom can't believe Cameron Diaz had a baby at 47 she thinks its also sad because when the kid is 10 she could be a grandma. She even said she wouldn't have the patience. I have 2 sisters 10-9. My sister was begging for a dog, my mom got nervous even yelled at my dad saying shes been stuck for years with everything & the babies (my sisters) it has all been on her, she wants to live life. I woke up to her telling my sister shes 45 & hasn't live life none of us has,she hasn't taken care of herself. Mom last night had a panic attack wanted to back out. But she felt bad for my sister so now we're getting a 4th dog. |
Posted: 08 Feb 2020 10:43 AM PST She has ridden horses for 27 years now and I'm just wondering if she is likely good at riding men too. |

Question: 80 Year old grandma living with us.? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 10:06 AM PST My moms mother has been living with us for 4 years and its really starting to get to me. Through the years i have always been a little annoyed because me being so used to just us 4 and having allot of privacy it's hard to even have privacy now. 2 years ago are lives changed because she had to get an amputation on both legs because of her diabetes. We went through so much with her recovery. Now today she if fully healed and the only problem is she keeps complaining every second! Yes i know i don't know what it feels like to have your legs gone but the only problem is she keeps reminding us shes tired of sitting and keeps crying out to god,and mostly yelling for nothing. She has been stressing my mother out EVERDAY! I try my best to help my mom out with her. My mom doesn't believe in nursing homes and i really don't want a caregiver in are house there would be no privacy at all! Most of my siblings got to save, build there credit, and move while living with my parents. I'm the baby of the family i haven't even build up there yet or at the age yet. I don't know what to do. By the way my grandmother has 10 kids who never see her because there either on drugs or mad at her for the past. |
Question: Why do young moms get stigmatized? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 08:03 AM PST My mom told me about how annoying it was when people stigmatized her and she told me an example too. My mom had me at 21 which was really young even 16 years ago but she looked way younger. She told me that she looked like a 15-16yo when I was 1 and she pushed me around in strollers. What happened was that when we were going to London and I was 5 months old and she was 21. She was supposedly looking at something in a duty free shop and a seller came to ask her if she needed help and I started crying so she took me out of the strollers and the seller started asking her weird questions. She asked if it was my mom's baby and that this couldn't be true and that she is way too young to be a mom. |
Question: Do you think punishment homework is a good idea instead of saturday detention ? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:55 AM PST My school used to have saturday detention as a severe punishment for very bad behavour, last tuesday me and some of my friends thought as saturday detontion was NO longer there, we should skip lessons and do what we wanted too, the next day we were called into the head of years office and informed that we would be punished, we all LAUGHED no more saturday detentions HA HA HA , our head of year miss jones said that saturday detention had been replaced with punishment weekend homework, then we all got a SHOCK , we had to write a 6 page essay on why its wrong to skip lessons, then a 6 page essay on the importance of obeying school rules, then a 6 page essay on what we have lernt from being punished, we then have to copy out this work 2 times. thats 36 MISREABLE pages, we then have lines to do, I WILL OBEY THE SCHOOL RULES AT ALL TIMES ,250 times, i think this will take me ALL weekend to do this work, i would rather have a 3 hour saturday detention instead of this, opinions please i think this is a MUCH worse punishment dont you ? |
Question: My sister is visiting, what should we do? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:32 AM PST I'm in college in Waco and my 16 year old sister is coming to visit me for the weekend. What are some things I could do to keep her entertained? Waco specific things or just teen girly things in general. |
Question: Why is my sister like this? She is 20 and doesn't shower? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 06:22 AM PST I have a sister who is 20yrs old and studying Law. We live in London with our parents and siblings in one house. I am moving out next year after I save up a bit more cash to buy a house. Anyways, my sister is 20yrs old, she does not shower daily, she only baths once a week and sometimes once every two weeks. She doesn't use deodorant, doesn't wear makeup, her room is always a mess, she sleeps until 12pm, doesn't have 3 set meals a day sometimes, eats junk food, doesn't save her money, doesn't EVER help out with ANY of the housework or contributes towards the food bill and finally she always spends a lot of time on social media, on her phone and doesn't seem to have any real friends. Why is she like this? My parents and I have spoken to her a million times about all this but she doesn't listen to us and we've given up on her. My sister has always been a tramp since she was a kid and was always messy and hated baths. Yes, she enjoys her Law course. She also works part-time. Another annoying thing about her is she talks a lot and waffles/babbles too much. |
Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:20 AM PST I am not supposed to be nice to her per their rules but I feel weird being mean to a family member. I will try not to tell my parents but if they find out through word of mouth that would be the problem as my uncle who is the mature and neutral one will be there with his son. My parents hate the aunt over personality clashes and indeed the aunt can be critical I recall even insulting my mother to me once. |
Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:04 AM PST Also, why do wives need to be with the husband all the time like being babysat when the adult children don't? For my father it is like his wife is nine and didn't get to see him all week because of work and school (school if it were a 9 year old). His wife is nice and all, I just don't get her needing all this attention and alone time. They live together everyday alone so I would think that would be enough. |

Question: Is it normal to dislike my father? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 10:23 PM PST My father growing up forced us to pay rent and constantly asking for help he holds everything against us saying we were expensive growing up and we need to help now that he's old. I really cannot stand him at all now that I see him I avoid him ? Is that bad or is that me being a brat? |
Question: I’m 16. Is it reasonable for my parents to not let me out past 9? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 09:24 PM PST I understand that they just want me to be safe, but all my friends were allowed to go except me. I just don't get it. They get to stay out until midnight. I can't go out past 9. I'm a straight A student and always study and do my work. I don't know why they wouldn't trust me even a little. I just want a break from everything. It's Friday night, too. We were going to go bowling, and now I am in my bed while my friends are probably having a good time right now. It's frustrating. Is my parents actions reasonable? What is your opinion? What can I do to let them let me stay out longer? |
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:57 PM PST My mom is 45, theres my 2 sisters 10-9. My dad works a lot so he helps somewhat, everything is basically on my mom even though I try to step in as much as I can. My sister has cyclic vomiting so she goes in & out the hospital & I'm the one that takes care of the household, the pets, & my youngest sister. I get very scared! Besides that I have 3 dogs & a fish, my mom never wanted another pet but my sister recently was begging for another dog & since she's been through a lot my mom went through with it even though she was getting very nervous, yelling at my dad for being stuck for years even with my sisters how when their were babies it was all on her. I woke up the next morning to her crying she wants to live life.. Then after purchasing the dog my mom had a breakdown last night how she doesn't care for herself she's 45 she can't be caring & dealing with another dog, we have no life. She wanted to back out. Besides that she came to be a month ago saying she can't believe Cameron Diaz had a baby at 45 she thinks its also sad because when the kid is 10 she could be a grandma. She even said she wouldn't have the patience. Tonight my dad came home telling my mom his co-worker & his wife are trying for a baby she has to go to fertility stuff, to inject her with eggs. He was talking about the prices, my mom said oh yea it's a lot, he spent $3000 on a dog with his new credit card is he thinking for another baby? When I talk about grandkids she said she'll hold the baby then move far |
Question: If you were my parents would you be upset with these grades? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:14 PM PST Algebra A History B English D Economics A Chemistry C Civics B Physics B |
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:14 PM PST He does not get really drunk anymore. He had been real heavy and drank all day but seemed okay and then he lost a lot of weight with a stomach surgery and after that he would get really drunk I guess cause he weighed less so the alcohol had a different impact. He then went to rehab and now drinks all the time but spaces it out so he is not binging. As a result he is not obnoxious drunk anymore at all. So should I say anything or since he is not obnoxious drunk is it just his business and I should stay out of it? My mother divorced him even though he got help (she was not at all supportive) and so no one nags him anymore. I feel it is his business but don't want to feel guilty if he dies from it or gets worse. My mother drinks to much also but she gets real nice when drunk and only does it in social settings. I consider both alcoholics to some degree and both have alcoholic family backgrounds including both had an alcoholic grandparent (none of their parents were). So do I say anything or mind my own business? I don't like conflict after all the fighting my parents did so don't want my Dad to get mad. My two siblings don't seem to care. |
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 06:39 PM PST It is entirely at my sister's doing. I try not to bring it up much around my parents since they have to love her since it is their daughter so they have been stuck with her. Since I don't have to love her and don't am I wrong to bring it up occasionally around my parents? I don't bring it up a lot since as noted they have to love her still. |
Question: What do you think of this situation and what should I do ? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 05:53 PM PST Ok so I was talking on the phone to my dad because he called and he asked me about school and I'm in college because I travel far to go to school and he asked me when I'm going to transfer from the school I go to and I said that I need certain credits to transfer and he said how many credits I have and I said the amount of credits I have and he pretended as if he didn't hear the amount of credits I have and he said a lower number for the amount of credits I have. He said my learning is hard and he didn't ask he just said my learning is hard and I felt offended because I felt as if he was trying to bring me down because of the way I look and he doesn't expect me to be smart or know much. What do you think of this situation and what should I do? |
Question: How to not be an entitled brat? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 04:47 PM PST hi! im a 15 yr old girl and ive always been an entitled brat. i grew up lower middle class but ive always expected everything to go the way i have it planned out in my head. for example, if i want a smoothie from a certain juice store, i get physically stressed and sob until i can find comfort in having it. it stresses my mom very much and it obviously causes me stress and anger issues. i cuss at my mom when it doesnt go my way and its so sickening because the poor woman has many mental issues she deals with on top of my brat-ness. My dad (mom and dad are divorced) is less lenient than my mom so i dont act up around him, but its only my mom. my mom is a great woman (besides her narcissism but i dont blame her at all) and i want to treat her amazing but im too entitled. any advice luvs? |
Question: Why does my little sister scream when I chase her with a kitchen knife? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 03:22 PM PST I am just joking but she is too young to understand. |
Question: I do I deal with emotionally abusive parents? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 02:59 PM PST Today I found out I was ranked 16 out of around 300 something kids for my senior. I was proud at first but when I told my parents they called me a disappointment and stupid because I wasn't in the top ten. My mom coldly told me that she and my dad weren't going to attend my graduation since they quote " a waste of time". That really hurt me. Growing up I was never close to my parents and they always pushed me to be the hard. If I didn't meet their standard they would call me stupid and worthless. If I cried I would get in trouble for it. I was also criticized for my appearance and was always called a fat pig by my parents. Despite being only 88 pounds (I'm 4'10)my parents would say I was too fat or ugly. My mom would compare herself to me saying things like she was way prettier than me when she was her age. I tried ignoring it and push on with my life. But today finding out they won't attending my graduation because I'm an embarrassment made me break down. |
Question: How to get a psycho sister in law out of your life? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 02:28 PM PST She makes up bs about me to get people to dislike me. She's in her SEVENTIES! Screams you down when she's caught in one of her thousands of lies. I don't want to move since I would lose my pets if I did. |
