Question: Can a guy who’s 28 have a female friend who’s 18.? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:14 PM PST I'm a guy and I'm 28 and I'm sorta friends with a girl who's 18. I have a learning disability and she's very mature and she seems to really like me and she graduated from high school last year. Can I be friends with her. |
Question: Is Sarah toxic and a fake friend? ? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 02:35 PM PST I have a friend who is grounded currently and said he would come back on February 17th. So, while I was on discord, I saw his status idle for like 10 seconds. Sometimes, I like to message myself, my alt account on how my day was like a self diary. So, I accidentally sent a text to his friend, Sarah. I said this "Saw David (the guy) and Sarah on at 7:25:7:26. got em lol" I quickly deleted it after I realized I had sent it to the wrong person. I texted the girl, Sarah and said "uhh did you see that?" She replied "yes." "Obviously." "I'm not in the mood right now" and I said "sorry" and she said "Do I care? Do I give a ****? No." Shortly after that, she changed her status to "**** fake people".. I became so nervous, I cried and vomited. And all I wanted to do in that moment was self harm. She usually has a very rude attitude but I didn't think it was very nice. I don't want her to think I'm spying on her. I had no bad intentions. |
Question: How to talk about stuff you're going through with the non-personal stuff friends? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:47 PM PST I've been dealing with a lot over the years, everyone is, but I only have a small group of friends. We're a comedy club of sorts, and while we're closer than anything, Personal stuff is rarely dealt with. I'll help them out sometimes, but we just don't talk about personal things. I've known these people for years. At this point, if I don't talk to someone, I feel like I'll burst. I don't know how to bring up hard topics with people like them. It will make things awkward for us and they might think less of me. Any tips? |
Question: Friend keeps cancelling? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:22 PM PST i'm 16 and my friend ALWAYS cancels on me. for example : we make plans to go and get dinner at 8. i'm dressed up, have my makeup on and i'm ready by 7:40. She messaged me at 7:50 saying she can't go. The reason is always something stupid like ' i have to go get books for my sister' or 'my bag ripped'. once we made plans to go to the gym and she cancelled last minute saying she can't go because her sister is going swimming at the same place? am i right to be angry? she's one of my bestfriends and we see each other at school (except for the fact shes not at school 90% of the time) idk what to do. help? |

I remember her coming for like, 1 hour at my birthday and then going to another birthday party cause it was more important (one of the many friends of her boyfriend). Question: Should I seek reimbursement from a now ex-friend I paid to go on a vacation with me? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:44 AM PST My fiancé and I had planned on eloping in Colorado end of January and invited two of our closest friends on the trip with us. We paid for everyone's flights, hotel, and car rental. We had to postpone our elopement due to financial reasons and planning it too much too soon but decided to go on the trip anyways. My friend made the trip almost unbearable with her attitude. She picked fights and at one point called me a spoiled brat..which I found ironic considering she was there because of me and also bragged before the trip that her mom slipped her money "like she always does". I'll admit we weren't on the best of terms before the trip started but not to the extreme that I would have felt the need to disinvite her. After we got back from the trip she deleted me off of all social media and even stood me up for a concert we had planned on going to together for my birthday. I am very upset and I feel like she used me to go on the trip. What would you do if you were in my situation? |
Question: Does this mean anything?!? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:44 AM PST I was making plans to visit my best friend and his brother at their hotel. Theyre useless and dont make plans so my dad texted her. She goes "I know the boys really wanted to see her on valentines day). (me and my best friend are 16). Could that mean he likes me? |
Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:41 AM PST I want to surprise kiss my best friend; i realized im in love with him (were 16). Im going to visit him at his hotel Saturday morning (i havent seen him since new years). the problem is, his brother (my other best friend will be there too). How do i make a move? |
Question: Should I apologize, or should I just let it be? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:27 AM PST Today I got really mad, an incident happened and it got me pissed. Like really pissed I dont know how to describe it but it likes a raging bear kind of piss, I was growilng, punching everything and kicking anything in my way. I was showing my true colors In the mix before this happened I handed a math sheet to my friend asking if she could help now at this point in time I could say only a few words (I was trying to be silent and not think, which is way I speak on few words) She got the paper and tried to help. But in my head I was still mad on what happened the previous day and it came out I looked at the bench gave it a weak kick, then punched it went to a trash can kicked it really hard and growilng destroying everything in my path. and she watched me do it. I came back and sat down quit still mad but cooling down and she never spoke a word. I could see terror in her eyes. Im guessing she couldnt handle it cuase she left. she was a girl I liked but now I fear shes gone and wont ever come back. |
Question: What means if your best friend treat you like trash? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:44 AM PST Well she suppose to be my best friend but she acts luke crazy when i am near to her She has many issues with me but her big issue is my appereance She hates very much when i feel confidence and she tries to convince me that i am ugly She tries to put me down all the time Someday i told her that i like a guy and she told me that i am too ugly for him Another day she told me that a girl called me ugly only to make me feel bad What is her problem???i cant understand Cause i am always nice to her |
Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:11 AM PST Sometimes I get into situations with people where I could have said no or not done that thing, but I steady do it because I don't want to disappoint anybody and I have a hard time saying no. This comes with sex, friends, people in my family asking me for money, etc. Why can't I just be mean sometimes and say no? |
Question: Am I being dramatic? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:44 AM PST Me and my best friend of 12 years (we are both 30 now) were always inseparable. I, myself have been feeling a strain in the relationship because it seems that as of lately things have been one-sided. She now lives in another state and I've flown out here several times making sure she was straight while she adjusted/tried meeting new friends. I've used my personal days at work just to fly to her for her birthday and once was a random trip over the summer. When I asked her if she would come home for my birthday, she had an excuse "I can't take days off, etc" When I ONLY wanted her to consider coming on The Weekend (her days off). Although we are both grown with our busy lives...me married and a mom..and her single, but working full time, I KNOW life gets hectic. But there has been a pattern of her going ghost on me and I'm always the one reaching out and it is so draining. I just want us to be as close as we once were but I need the friendship to be equal!! We've had talk but why am I still feeling uneasy about this??? Ironically her bday is coming up and I'm not even sure if I should go all out for her KNOWING she won't reciprocate. And I doing too much? Any advice? |
Question: Is this what bffs do? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:37 AM PST Ive been friends with this girl for about 6 and a half years so shes basiclly my best friend. Practiclly the only one. And whenever we go out i feel like in the only one talking and shes just staring into her phone. So whenever im quiet she always like "what the hell is wrong with u". Or when her phone is dead but my isnt and im using it she always attacks me for not "talking to her" despite the fact that about 99 percent of the time im the one keeping the friendship going with my silly ideas or just talking in general. I honesly feel as tho she doesnt give a frick about our friendship. Thought? |
Question: Why can I hear my name and my name only from a distance? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 11:10 PM PST I was once walking in a line of people, and my friend was a fair distance away from me. He was in a conversation with one other person, and I could only hear my name being spoken a few times. The rest of his conversation is inaudible to me. My friend also caught me glancing at him when he mentioned me. He even asked how could I hear that. |
Question: My friend and I got into a fight in front of the class!? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 07:53 PM PST So basically there s this girl I ve been friends with since September. We got very close and spent a lot of time together. However, whenever we talk, she constantly insults and belittles me. Nothing I do is right. She treats me like I m stupid, she insults my academic performance (despite my grades being better than hers), she always corrects me and acts as if I m a small child who knows absolutely nothing. During science class, she kept telling me I was wrong even though I was right. I literally had the facts in front of me and was showing them to her. Since she s super stubborn, she refused to admit her mistake. "Lisa, you re wrong. You re wrong. You re wrong." She said. It started out in a flat tone but then she began to laugh and condescend me, as she loves to do. Eventually I said in a loud harsh voice, "I m right! I literally have the facts right here! I m right, I m correct. I know I m right!" My other friend (who is close with both of us) eventually interfered and I went out of the class with her to get food since we were both hungry. This was all a pretty public display since everyone else in the class was silent. I m really scared and embarrassed. To make matters worse, after class, she began to boss me around again. "go to your class, go to where you need to go." I kinda ignored here and wouldn t look her in the eye. After I left school, I texted her an apology but she read it without responding. I m really frightened for school tomorrow. Help!! |
Question: Why would someone not respond if you tell them you have ptsd? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 07:16 PM PST I had a pretty devastating experience that I still don't really understand. I had a mentor in graduate school when I went to a two year art program. Over the two years, I had two classes with him, he chose me as his TA, and I put him on my thesis committee. We had numerous studio visits over the two years. Eventually, I thought we had formed some kind of friendship. During my first year of school, he told me that he saw trauma in my art work and tried to get me to talk about it with him. He seemed concerned. I didn't tell him I had ptsd at that time. At the end of school, after several times of trying to open up to my classmates /ppl in my life in general, I decided to tell him that I have ptsd. I actually told him through an email after I had graduated. He never responded to that email. It was really painful because I thought we had a friendship and I was in the process of trying to tell people in my life for the first time about my disorder. I was trying to become less ashamed and more open. His lack of response hurt my feelings a lot. I am just curious what people think. Why would someone not respond if you tell them you have ptsd? I'm reposting this because someone was confused about how I originally phrased the question. Thanks ! |
Question: Left work abruptly and now my friend is all alone? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 01:54 PM PST I feel guilty leaving work and leaving my friend there. Sure, the work environment is fine and he should be fine, but I didn't give him a heads up or any explaination. I didn't even know how to tell him, and it felt like aburden he didn't need to take around either? Do I reach out? Or is that weird? |
Question: Do you guys have any genuine advice I should give to my friend? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 10:31 AM PST My friend was recently diagnosed with depression. She told me "I just want to be happy is that too much to ask for?" "I hate that I hate myself, it also affects my lover". I hate seeing her cry all the time. She had also, recently got back together as friends with her best friend and she sent an apology letter to him for what mistakes she made. She's been falling apart because she lost the bond they once had as best friends. I know she's hurting and I just want to give her the best advice. |
Posted: 12 Feb 2020 10:18 AM PST I don't know if it's me or the other people but I really don't like working in my group project. Everyday the other people contribute nothing and never give ideas. They never go home and work by themselves and find things out to share with the group. Instead it is always me who has to do all the work. No one else spends hours at home trying to find the answers so I have to and when I get the answers they're like "good work can you send that to me".Yes it's a group project but when no one else seems to contribute anything I feel reluctant to want to share my work with them. Should I share the answers with them even though they don't do anything or share with me? |
Question: What can i do to improve my friendship? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 10:03 AM PST I'm much more closer and happier with the friends outside my school. I had a hard time making friends in this school. Last year i met this girl. To be honest, she not a type of friend i would ever have. I cant really tell her about my life since she'd judge or look at my differently. She can be so annoying. We argue every time. I'm much more happier and content with my other friends. I notice that when i'm with her i'm so irritable and mad. I only see her in school. She annoys me so much. There are 2 others in our friend group but they aren't as bad as this one. Like for example this might sound childish. But i'm skipping school tomorrow and so is she. The only times she's ever absent is when I am. I get so irritated with her. And the simpilest things she does annoys me. I really switch friend groups (long story why) |
