when I got my hair cut the other day, a female stylist used the word man date. She saw that my female hair stylist and I were talking. I thought man date is a term to be applied to two guys hanging out and talking?  I'm wondering why she said that considering I'm a guy and my stylist is a woman. 

If I have a gift for a friend, and they don't know I'm getting them a gift, and I'm going to meet with them for about an hour, should I give them the gift at the beginning of that meeting or at the end? As soon as I see them or just before they go?

For almost 2 years i had a work friend named Sofia.  I always had feelings for Sofia, but she was married with kids.  I noticed Sofia would stare at me like crazy.  I never made a move on her because i had reapecr.  But one day Sofia told somone as a secret,  that she was beginning to have feelings for me.  Apperantly she felt guilty because she's married.  Me and Sofia continued being work friends and she thought i didn't know about her feelings. Later coworkers began complaining, because Sofia and i would flirt all the time. Later there was drama at work because everyone began to talk.  Back in January of last year,  sofia told management that my precense on the floor was  affecting her.  So my manager moved me to another department far away from her....  Sofia left work for 1 whole year and even blocked me on facebook.  Sofia returned to work early this month.   Ive ran into her a few times in the cafeteria,  and she tries so hard to Not look at me or she looks down fast.  She acts like i dont exist anymire.  I always stare at her and i make it obvious, but she stares at the ground and smiles a little bit... Does feel hate towards me now??????  Can i please have advice??? 

At my job, it is me and one other coworker who are both in high school. Although we're not the only part-timers, we're the only ones in school. Recently, for the last month or so, our boss has been giving us 1 shift a week tops. Usually we work 3-5. Neither of us wants to say anything since we've both been there less than 6 months and are afraid he might think we're disrespecting him by asking what the deal is. What do we do? (we're 16 so just finding another job is a little difficult)

I am a junior so everyone knows me and I feel like it would be weird showing up. It would be easier if I didn't already know them so we can 'meet' and become friends or something you know?

I have a best friend named Chris. Chris has another friend names Lucy. Me and them have very fun conversations and have fun together. But, Chris got grounded by his parents and got his phone and computer away. So I talked to Lucy and she was being an asshole to me. She was very rude and cocky. When Chris came back to give us an update, he texted the group this " Lucy you are my bff and I wish you could come over to my house when I'm not grounded and if I ever come on I'm messaging you first. He then told me, "Hey I love you and miss you" but, he put me last. I know Lucy is trying to take Chris away from me and it's working. She just met Chris. Me and Chris have known eachother for two years. I recently changed my username to "best friend till the very end " I was referring to Chris and Kate all of a sudden changes hers to "miss you best friend" like this ain't no competition. What should I do? Chris doesn't even know Lucy was being rude to me. I'm so afraid to talk to Lucy.. it's really a toxic relationship. I sent her a link to a website and all she said was "umm..... k"

I'm trying to decide between getting her something like a bracelet that will commemorate her 1st npc competition with a weight charm since she loves weight lifting, or a bracelet with her name and a weight charm, or maybe a set of purple French confetti nail strips (which she said she loved when she saw me wearing them) and a purple sparkly dip since she likes sparkly, a gas gift card cause she'll travels 2 hrs to and from work 5 days a week, 1 week it was 6 days because her and her bf graciously drove me back to my home after visiting their church or a water bottle that I'll have all the nick names shes called me in purple on the top and at the end of the top part either put "may just all be fun names", "to you may just all be fun names", "to you may all just be fun names", or "may all just be fun names". Then the bottom half put in blue and start with either "To me they mean everyrhing", "To me they mean a lot", "To me they mean a whole lot", "To me they mean so much". So ive known her since Nov 11 of 2019. I met her family the first time I went to her church Feb 2 this year. Which gift idea do you like best as the big gift? Or do you like all of them? If you think the water bottle is the best idea, which wording should I use? I'm am 26 year old I don't hardly go no where like party's or clubs because my parents are to strict I have to sneak and do stuff I'm not a bad person I don't smoke going around fighting or robbed people.

My Best friend of 5 years is a competitive ***** she never used to be like this till now. my birthday is coming up next week and you know everybody wants to look good on their birthday. I showed her my outfit she said it looks nice and it would look nice on me . Now she went to buy her a outfit that's see through to show her body to gain attention lol wow she is very sick. She even told me she's wearing makeup and she's bragging on her self telling me how she's gonna look beautiful on my own birthday lol she's sad. Lately everything is competition I wear lot's of hair colors lol and i gets lots of compliments. She used to always tell me she likes colors on me but she doesn't really like color she'll rather stick to black. Guess what now all of a sudden she's trying different colors like me. Her excuse now is she wants to look different when she told me she wouldn't wear color lol. Another thing I can talk about anything simple I told her once my left eye was jumping and you know they say that's bad luck.I told her I'm kinda scared to why it's jumping she completely went silent and She copies me and says the same actually thing that her left eye was jumping also and she's scared she's a weirdo. I showed her a picture of how I'm getting my nails the nails had the year of my birth date I showed her that I wanted to get it. Guess what she says omg that's so pretty I should try that with my birth date. She's stealing my ideas. I have no other friends because of her help ? Another thing I told her I'm moving into a new apartment my apartment is small. Her apartment is so much bigger then mines. she then says yeah I can't wait to you move your house is so small. Then a couple of days later she tells me guess what, I'm moving into a new apartment and I will have an upstairs apartment it's very big then my last apartment. Lastly I told her this guy wanted to take me out on a date she gives me dry feedback like that's good he is probably lying. guys are not ****. 

All my life, I seem to have had older friends and not really been able to fully connect with people my own age.

So yesterday I was at school, I'm 15 and we had our weekly assessment thing. It's a small test we take on Fridays to see if we took notes and were listening. And the teacher told me to pick up the papers because I have leadership role for month. It means I pick up papers and pass them out. And read daily objective outloud. This girl who is always in trouble and argues people, grabs one of the papers out of my hand and like stands in the corner copying the answers from someone else's paper. I said hey you're not supposed to be copying. That's cheating. Before I could finish it she turned around and kneed me really hard in my privates. I lost my breath and couldn't move or talk because my stomach hurt and felt really weird. (This has never happened to me before) The lights were off and not many people could see but few that did were laughing. It was really embarrassing. She copied everything down n cheated and turned it in. I just limped to my desk and sat down holding myself and almost about to vomit or poop. I couldn't ride my bike home after that. I tried but it hurt really bad. When I showered last night it was really swollen and red. This morning I woke up and it still hurts when I touch it. Why did she do this? whenever I told anyone they laughed like "really?? Samantha kicked you haha I wish I was there omg haha". I haven't told my parents. It's embarrassing and I don't see why it's so funny. 

So sometimes I have a thing with women where it doesnt work out. Sometimes they decide to just abandon ship without thinking we can just be friends or what not and it gets annoying. I'm so confused by it all. I thought being friends was something they adamantly wanted. It's not like I'm incapable of just being friends.

Well i been skeptical lately about a friendship. don't get me wrong when i'm with this friend she's actually a nice person to talk to. But lately when i'm around her i feel a bad vibe. It's like my gut instinct tells me this friend doesn't really like you on the low like you think she does. Sometimes i feel like she's trying to compete with me or want her life like mines. She cant stand when i talk about my lover and how he Been doing great things so far, It's always a negative reaction like, yeah right he's not going to do that, or he's just doing that for a moment. Then she switches the topic about her lover and brags on how he trying to do the same when i think its made up lies her stories always similar to mines. Also she's my only friend i hate it because i want to leave the friendship but i have no other friends. Plus every since me and her got close i lost every friend i had because of her. she always finds excuses how she thinks my friends didn't like her and that it should just be us two hanging out. Another thing i had a dream about a broom and i always search up my dream meanings, it told me it means i need to watch out for a friend. The friend has negative thoughts about me. Also i had a dream that i received sweets, that dream meaning told me somebody is using me for their on benefit. I thought of her. Also my mother keeps telling me she even thinks my friend doesn't like her. What should i do is the universe warning me ? And is my instinct warning me ?  Update i think my friend doesn't like my mother because one time my friend compared how her mother acts more nicer then my mom. One time she got mad about my mother and start talking **** about her to me. She said my mother acts stuck up and how she thinks she's all that. Worse part unnecessary **** came out her mouth saying my mother is pretty but her mother looks better then mines I was pissed off. My mother doesn't talk to my friend like that but my mother bought her food multiple times.

Most of the majority of the class followed Julie and labeled them as bad. This was a long held grudge that just exploded and I was too dumb to notice it until it explode in my face and all my friends'. How do I help it go back to normal?

So I had this friend of mine that I met at the science fair in 5th grade. We weren't really "friends" back then. But in 8th grade (spring 2017) for some reason all of a sudden we started talking more. And I got her number by playing a prank pretending that it was someone else's, she found out but wasn't mad. Then we just started talking and talking and became friends. I developed a crush on her and eventually admitted it; I was rejected but it didn't affect the friendship and we still remained friends. But I made some mistakes. I called her a ***** and never gave a reason why and later apologized. She forgave me (which I still am shocked by) because she said I'm the only person that's hurt her before that's grown and matured from that. So fast forward to the following school year (9th grade), we were still friends. By the end of the year, we were best friends. Everything was going smoothly (we'd have an occasional argument but that's normal for most friendships).

Lately I been having a bad gut instinct about my Best friend I feel like we are drifting apart.every time we see each other it feels awkward half of the time we don't even know what to talk about anymore it will just be silence until I break the ice. we don't talk about anything serious that best friends suppose to talk about all she talks about is guys and how good she's gonna look when she gets her hair done. or sometimes we talk about what jobs we should work at keyword, we she doesn't want to stay at a job by herself she always feels like she wants me to work where she works at. We're young adults now not teenagers. she is starting to bore me. I also feel like every since my life is getting a little better like focusing on my career and moving into a bigger home it's like she's been drifting apart from me even my mother noticed it. She gives me a weird vibe and I hate to say it I have a bad gut instinct that our friendship will end soon. When I'm around her I feel weird energy it's like I feel my own best friend doesn't like me anymore. Every time we're together she always have a attitude and always complaining. When I'm in a happy mood it's like when I'm with her she makes my day miserable like hers. She picks little arguments with me I can't even tell her the truth about anything without her feelings getting hurt. She just wants me to agree with everything she agrees with to feel good about herself. if I disagree with her she feels like I'm in the wrong help ?

I'm currently a college student in nyc studying business but lately i've been really unhappy. I don't have a lot of friends and usually spend my weekends inside doing nothing (my roommate doesn't invite me out). I've just been feeling really lonely and depressed lately. I feel like everyone thinks I'm weird or something / I give off a bad vibe. I just feel like I'm wasting my life and I don't want to spend my college years bored. I have a lot of interests in more creative stuff like art and photography and music and feel like i should maybe focus on a major like that but it's hard. I just feel really isolated and can't talk to anyone. can someone please give me some advice?

All I can talk about is music, I need other things that are cool to talk about? I can't believe have to ask this about people my own age, but is something people generally specialize about? *socialize
