I work at a day care center. At work I have three bosses (let's call them Cathy, Samantha, and Katie) . Yesterday I emailed one of my boss Katie asking her if I could talk with her. There's a coworker who never helps out with cleaning, and is always on their phone in front of the kids. (This makes me super mad.) Tomorrow I'm going to talk to Katie about this, but I'm extremely nervous about talking to her, and I'm worried that I will sound stupid. Do you have any tips for me? Also a few of my other coworkers are reporting the same coworker that never cleans, and always on their phone.

When your up on a pedestal, people are putting you up high, is it just natural to have haters ? Its seems like it just comes with the territory. People are putting me up on a pedestal, n i can see that i have haters. I dont care about any of that, if it was up to me, NO ONE would know me at all. Im a very lowkey person, but damn, its brings a lot of haters.

i'd consider myself a fairly outgoing person, but when i'm in a situation where others are friends but they're strangers to me, i get incredibly shy. the farthest i can work myself up to do conversation wise is a question about schoolwork. in my math class we have a seating plan in rows, so my only friend in the class sits on the other side of the room. i sit next to a really extroverted guy and his friend & they're good friends, so i find it really hard to talk because i get intimidated by the already-active conversations. in my french class i got seated next to this super nice guy but the farthest i can get is helping each other with homework before freezing up and only talking when he speaks.  it makes me feel really lonely and it carries on to when i'm talking with my friends because i feel demotivated and unconfident afterwards :( if anyone has any advice it would honestly mean a lot

 One of my bestfriends,(V) and I have been friends since we were in hcp, (3rd, 4th, and 5th grade all crammed into one "advanced" class) so there were only about 8-10 students in each grade and only a few 3rd grade girls, which all became friends, I included. This went on into 4th grade where P came into play. I had already known P and didn't like her much (I'm very intuitive) but was willing to accept her into our group, which she tried so hard to wriggle into. It was a nice year, I remember feeling as though I had many friends. But the next year they all left. They wanted to pursue a program school where they could take 5th grade while attending middle school. It was very hard, (I have social anxiety) losing all my friends was devastating. While I was feeling lonely and scared that my friends would replace me, P decided she would update me on their lives and tell me just that. Things were never the same. All throughout middle school I tried to reconnect with them but we were just too different. I understood and thought it was time to sever ties, (a couple of them "the popular ones" had stopped inviting me to their birthday parties) but my other 2 friends V and K are convinced we are still close friends even though we are obviously not. P continues being subtly nasty, ignoring me but acting like we are friends when she needs something. V's bday is coming up and I cant help but feel anxious. Last time my anxiety was so bad I called my parents in tears. Please help. WDID? This is a long one...

okay, recently  i went to the next town over to see a friend, with a friend my dad doesnt want me hanging out with anymore, and when he found out he came and picked me up and screamed at me and accused me of partying, and when i said i was with that friend he slapped me with all force in the face, screamed at me again, they ended it with that i was ******* stupid, and idk if i should report it because later that night my mom picked me up to go to her house, and i told her, but i dont think shes gonna do anything, because she said its not abuse if theirs not a mark left behind,sp im honestly lost in what im supposed to do

when I was 11 I dared my friend to molest my brother while he was asleep, unaware of what it meant and that it was sexual harassment. I honestly forgot all about it until it hit me one day and now I feel like an evil person. I feel mortified that I allowed my friend to do that. I know we both didn't know any better but I cannot shake this guilt and shame that I feel to the core. I am in no way a child molester or have any kind of sexual attraction towards children whatsoever. I just don't know what to do. Should I talk with a therapist? Should I apologize to my brother? I'm just so afraid to tell anyone honestly. Please help

I dropped out of high school two years ago, (I dropped out my sophomore year) but now I'm taking classes to earn my GED. I am very determine to finish but there is this annoying guy in my class who's making it difficult. He never leaves me alone when I'm trying to work. I'm not interested in talking to people or making friends, I'm just there to do work and leave. He constantly tries to talk to me and it's always about random and irrelevant stuff. Worst of all he tells everyone in class we are best friends, when I can't even stand him. I want to tell him I don't like him and to stop talking to me but I hate being rude. I tried coming late to avoid him sitting next to me but my instructor doesn't want me to be late anymore. What can I do?

Hello my little marshmallow (marshmallow is her nickname her real name is Maddy) started to live with me a couple months ago. She decided to live with me because her parents are not in a place to take care of her. I won't go into detail but they aren't fit to take care of her and she hates living there. Anyway I go to know her a little better since she's lived with me and I am worried. She doesn't have any hobbies, she has manic moods, sometimes she breaks down crying, and worst of all..she only has ONE FRIEND!!! I feel bad for her and I want her to be in a better place. But I don't know what to do. What advice do you have?

My coworker and I used to be so close. She would be the only person that I would able to talk anything to. But the other day, when she came to work she was in a mad mood. I tried talking her but she was being rude and gave me an attitude. So then I got pissed off and started asking other people what was wrong with her. Then I found out that she was doing acid the other night and did not get any sleep so that's why she came to work in a bad mood. Well words got spread quickly and she found out that I was "talking ****" behind her back and comparing her to one of our shittest bartender. Then the next day, she confronted me and cussed me out, saying how I was such a ***** and that I have a really shitty personality. I tried to apologize to her face to face but when I did, she acted like she was so much better than me and that I owe her something which kinda pissed me off. But I still feel really bad because we used to be so close and I do miss talking to her. So this morning, I texted her, apologizing one more time and I sent her a long text on how I miss our friendship, and she read out and never responded back. What does this mean? Did I do the right thing? I know that it's all my fault and I should have not gotten mad at her because of one bad night

So I booked a super early flight the next morning on the day we're leaving to severely limit the amount of time she'll get to see them.

My guy friend and I decided to be roommates  and before we moved in, he told me that he was a clean person, but I would just have to tell him what to do. I've discovered that he is lazy, doesn't clean up his mess, breaks things and doesn't even try to fix/replace them, and eats a lot of my food and doesn't replace them. We got  into an argument because he left his dirty dishes in the sink for more than a week, and I wrote a note asking him to clean up his mess, which made him mad and he used all of my dishes and left them on top of the counter, dirty. He said that he's aware that he doesn't do his part in the apartment and that he sometimes eats my food, and when I asked him why, he didn't answer my question, rather he started talking about how I make jokes about him to publicly humiliate him and to make myself feel superior. Which is false. All of our friends joke about him, and if my jokes were hurting his feelings, he should've said something, but he didn't. Anyway, I ended up apologizing for the jokes, but do you think this friendship is worth saving?

A friend from my social circle in High School had a comic book event near my University and I thought of visiting. I lined up for 30 minutes and paid for the entrance fee and I thought he would be happy to see me. Im trying to be a supportive friend and I plan to buy on his merchandising booth. However, when he saw me......he wasn't as super excited like "HEY LONG TIME NO SEE". His facial expression was more of "Oh it's you". He didn't even smile at all and it looked like he was mad. I really got offended and felt ridiculed because it seemed like he doesn't want me there. I'm trying to be a supportive friend. I bet many of you would do that if someone in your High School group would have an event near your school. I asked my best friend why he was like that and BF said it's probably because of a facebook post I tagged him in. YOu see, I tagged my social circle in a funny FB post (It was workout material shaped like Private parts) but some got mad so I deleted it. I said sorry in the Groupchat after. But that was 2 months ago. It was a small trivial thing that happened 2 months ago and he's still mad at me?

I am just confused why he did that? Is he just way too comfortable around me or is that just his personality? Or is he maybe gay or hes stripled a lot on front of women? My job raffled off an iPod Nano, one of my coworkers won and she thinks I'm jealous because I didn't congratulate her, I overheard her gossiping.

I feel like I have lost my closest friend. My cousin and I used to tell each other stuff all the time. We'd hang out when we weren't working and stuff. I'm a stay at home mom and I'm more available to go do whatever she'd want to do. No one invites me anywhere anymore because I have children. I don't blame her for not wanting to do anything with me like we used to do. I'm just a burden to others and all I do is get in the way. My own husband doesn't pay me much attention. I am the biggest loser.

My cousin has a boyfriend of 7 months and I'm just now finding out. I thought we were best friends. I feel rather insulted by not being told since she told a couple others. I guess I really don't have any friends. 🙁 Heck, I'm happy for her. I hope they get married so we can be pregnant Buddies in 5 years. It's a secret if it was kept from me. She's also private, but she still told like 2 people. 

One of my friends wrote her suicide note and sent it to a couple of my friends and I.  She messaged me two days ago on how she hurt herself and that she feels as if everywhere she goes, she expects to get hurt because that's all she's learned. I immediately called two of my friends to visit me so we can make the call together. I told the police all of her information and her feelings of worthlessness in the note.  They told me that they'll get to her place as soon as they can and to call if anything escalated. Would they ever contact me on her situation? How would I even be able to know that they visit her and did a wellness check? Should I call them? Does anyone else have any advice for this type of situation or another way of helping my friend if she gets to this low of a point again? I feel like I could do more but in her letter she mentioned "no matter how much affection and care you give to me, it's only hurting me more. There's no point, you haven't failed me, but nothing good will ever come out of my life".

Stupid Q but I'm 21 and never had any real friends.. Not any I hung out with regularly.  Never bothered with long term friends in school bc we moved so much, and I felt all the work I did to build that relationship just disappeared, and if we were going to keep moving and I enjoyed alone time anyways, I just stayed to myself and fixed my mind on other thing like life and death, black holes, more mysterious things of the universe.. Had an interest in military too but couldnt join..  Back to the point, I'm 21 and never hung out with kids my age... I stuck to family since they were always there. And my sister and I don't really "hang out", but we go to walmart every time we're bored. So my only real "hobby" away from home is shopping.  A girl at work wants to hang out, and I was kinda shocked and told her I've never really hung out with people... What do people normally do to hang out (not the bar)??  I usually don't hang out with people and the idea of it kind of scares me since I'm usually awkward and silent in group settings...  How do I get more comfortable around people??  I don't know how to connect with people and have casual conversation...
