Question: What makes a family member estranged, does there have to be literally no contact? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 01:33 PM PDT My sister is estranged but I'm sure I will see her a few times in the course of my life. |
Question: My brother refuses to speak to me? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 12:54 PM PDT To put things into perspective, my brother is 33 and I am 19. My brother often jumps into relationships quickly. In his latest break up, he asked me to return some of her valuables back to her. When I asked him why he couldn't do it, he proceeded to make up some excuse about how I live closer to her. I told him I did not want to do it because it makes me uncomfortable (the last time I did this for him, his ex was crying in my arms and screaming at me for answers as to why he dumped her). This ex lives 5 minutes from his home, and he still asked me to go do this while I was in town for my birthday. After I explained why I don't want to be involved, he blew up at me and told me I was unloyal. He also said we weren't really "family" and unfollowed me on instagram. His position is that since he co-signed a car for me 6 months ago (the payments are extremely low), I should have his back. It should be noted that I haven never missed a payment or been late. How do I resolve this? He refuses to speak to me, and honestly I just want to move on from this situation. |
Posted: 27 Sep 2019 12:18 PM PDT Her aunt was a tough person to get along with and so she didn't want me to go since we kids had to hate who our mother hated. Indeed this lady who died was not the nicest person and I only met her three times, but she's family and I betrayed her soul by not attending the service in September of 1999. |
Question: Why is it that White women don’t want children or only have 1 or two? ? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 11:36 AM PDT I would like white woman to answer. Do you choose to not have children or is it because you have not met the right person. And if you don't have children, do you regret it? How do you feel about Blacks, Latinos, Muslims and Jews who have 3+ kids. I live in an area with a large Muslim and Jewish community in the UK. All the women around here have 4+ kids and do not work. They survive on one income and welfare but are happy. The kids don't go without. What do you think about that? |
Posted: 27 Sep 2019 11:09 AM PDT I had difficulty waking up, so my mother came in and called me. 5 minutes later if I wasn't standing up she would throw me a glass of cold water in my face .. I would go down, while my father went to work in the factory with the car. . and I ate sugar pops with milk, watching the news on TV .. then I went out with my sister, and she went with the school bus, I went with the urban bus.,my mother my mother, a notary's secretary, went to the colleague's car ... |
Question: How to grieve a loss? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 10:45 AM PDT Last week on the 18th my grandfather passed away from cancer. He was diagnosed with it in 2015 and he kept it a secret from us for 2 years only he knew about it and he literally told no one because he thought he would beat it. He went a full year without any treatment and he started treatment late 2016. On September 21st, 2017 he texted my mom and said "help" so we went to his house and 2 weeks prior to that he gave my mom extra keys to his house just in case for emergencies. So we went and my mom went inside his house and he was on the floor because he had fell. My mom was in the house for 15 minutes and she comes back outside and the look on her face I knew something was wrong. My grandma asked what was wrong and my mom paused and said "dads sick..." and then my grandma was like "with what?" And she replied "he has cancer." So ever since then we have been taking care of him taking him to chemotherapy and his doctor appointments etc. he couldn't drive no more, he had to use a wheelchair, he needed someone to help him walk. In June of this year he was given 2 months to live by his doctor and he went into hospice and on September 10th he went to the hospital due to blood in his urine. He went back home the next day then went back to the hospital a week later because of more bleeding so they did a surgery to find out the cause of it and it was internal bleeding from his bladder and the doctors said they couldn't stop the bleeding. He passed away that night. How do I grieve? |
Question: What do I say to my father whom I've never met? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 10:36 AM PDT Only hours ago I messaged what I believe to be the current email address of my dad. I've never met him, and I'm 23 years old now, my mom had me when they were both 16. The email I sent was: "Hello, My name is David *******, and I was hoping to get in touch with Jason *******. I am not looking for anything or asking for anything; just looking for some correspondence. Email me back when you get the chance. Thank you, David" I've never carried any resentment towards the man, nor has my mom ever bad-mouthed him. I'm not looking for a relationship. In fact, I would prefer only meeting him once. I simply want to shake his hand and look him in the eye. I don't need an explanation or anything like that. Now that I've rambled on and on, my question is, where do I go from here? What do I say to him if he ever responds? If anyone has any similar stories, please feel free to share. I don't expect anything , but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous as hell. Any advice helps. Thank you I should also mention that he knows who I am as he payed child support for 18 years. So using my name in the email would catch his attention. |
Question: Grounded! School Prom tomorrow! What shoud I do ? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 10:06 AM PDT 2 days ago, I got in huge trouble at school and got detention for the next 3 weeks. As you could imagine, my father and step-mom weren't so happy about it, so I ended up grounded. My father won't let me do anything at all. I have my cellphone taken, I can use my laptop only for school ( pretending doing a school project rn), and of course I am not allowed to leave the house. However, my school does this "welcome'' back proms at the last weekend of September every year and I really can't miss it. Everyone will be there, I even promised my girlfriend I will be there too, and I don't want to let her out. I apologized to my dad and even suggested alternative punishments but he will still say no. What could I do? Really, I don't want to lose it. I am even thinking of sneaking out! What do you think I should do? Please don't say to sit this punishment and all. I know I did a mistake, but I cant lose this Prom! |
Question: How do I deal with an overly critical mother who gives me constant unsolicited advice? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 08:43 AM PDT I'm a 36 year old married woman with one small toddler. I have had "mom" issues for as long as I can remember. However, ever since having a child, it's been exponentially much worse than I thought. I am not at the point where I want to end contact. I just want to know what strategies I can use to deal with how annoying it is. |
Posted: 27 Sep 2019 06:52 AM PDT One book I looked up online and it said the book was for young adults. I contacted the principal and he said 7th graders were considered young adults. The librarian can not differentiate which books contain sexual content and sends the name of the book home for me to approve. Is there anything else I can do. The principal does not think their is a problem and the librarian does not know which books have sexual content or cussing in it. I am seeing some of your comments and that is why we have so many teen pregnancies today. Which my child is not even a teen yet and you guys want him to learn all about sex. To kitty who commented to have my child write a book report about sex. You are disgusting. What parent asks there child to write sex talk to them. These books go against our religious beliefs. bunch od pedophiles commenting on my post. STOP For the person asking me a question here is your answer: Thanks to the school books my child already knows about drinking and sex. Explained drinking is legal at the age of 21. Underage drinking you can go to jail. Drinking and driving kills. Sex - our religion believes you wait until you are married to have sex Please, I did not come on here for parenting advice. You raise your child the way you want and I raise my child the way I want. Came on here for advice regarding school books. Not parenting advice. If I could delete this post I would cause you guys are getting way off topic like a 5-year-old. |

Question: Should I have kids or not if I have major depression? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 05:57 AM PDT I really want kids in the future but my depression is inherited so I know if I have kids, they likely inherit it since it runs in the family. |

Question: How strong does a woman have to be to have a kid sit on her lap? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 01:01 AM PDT When I was 14 I sat on my mom's lap a lot like in the car on a bus and at home. was she strong? |
Question: Is it ever okay to yell at someone for having an addiction problem? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 11:36 PM PDT Okay, if kids, teenagers, young adults and even elder adults struggle with video game addiction disorders, is it ever okay to yell at them or should we help them kindly and calmly and confront the problem? |
Question: Gaining Custody of my grandchildren ? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 09:44 PM PDT Can anyone help me out with real legal advice? My 4 grandchildren have been taken by CPS . My daughter is a unfit mother. They are ages 6, 5, 4 and 10 months. They basically lived with me their whole lives, periodically theyd move out for short periods of time Theyd still be with me most of the time and eventually be back home with me. I have a clean record, never did a drug in my life. Im a very quiet fun loving person that adores her grandbabies theyve always been my main focus. I have dictors, ,teachers, family and LSW as proof. My only prob is is that 15 years ago when my daughter was a teen her father and I used to argue alot over her custody wise. I was always given physical custody of her. One time it went to far and we were both reported to the Deot of Justice for I guess "mental abuse" on her for causing stress on her. Because of this i was not granted emergency care. Niow i must go through normal processing, which will take some time.... Can anyone give a true honest serious answer on what my chances look like? Will this be a hard process? Thank you I appreciate your help. |

Question: I think my stepbrother likes me? Does he? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 06:02 PM PDT So this was the second time i met him and he is 2 years older than me. My dad, step mom, 3 step siblings plus the brother, and me were at a hotel and it came closer to night and my stepmom and my dad were gonna go out to see a band play. So they got ready and left, my step siblings were playing games for a few hours, they got tired and went to sleep. It was just me and the step brother up, we were talking and stuff (in the same bed while he had his pillow on my stomach and was laying on it) he goes "i'm just gonna stare at you" and i was thinking what? Then he decided to lay beside me, he asked "let me see how big my hand is compared to yours," so we connected hands and he started closing his hands into mine and i got flustered so i pulled away and turned the other way. He started combing his fingers through my hair and pushing my hair behind my ear. I have to admit I kinda like it |
Question: My egyptian parents force me to wear leg braces? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 05:37 PM PDT my egyptian parents make me wear leg braces every day, even though i'm not disabled or weak. i can stand without them, but my mom still makes me wear them because she doesn't want me to fall down. seriously, i dont need leg braces. but my parents still force me to wear them. people at school laugh at me for wearing leg braces, and they all kick me and spit on me. furthermore, my mom bathes me at night and breastfeeds me, my dad wear short shorts, and my parents fart in church. |
Question: How do I know I love my brother? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 04:46 PM PDT He's very lazy and yells at my parents all the time, he's 13 and I'm 18 but sometimes I ask myself "do I really love him" |
Posted: 26 Sep 2019 03:59 PM PDT My dad is always angry, he lost his phone and told me to call it, so i did and he still yelled at me saying i wasn't helping and when i said something back to defend myself he slammed my door shut and said i was a retard and can't do anything. |
Posted: 26 Sep 2019 03:29 PM PDT So I live with my older sis & her two bad kids. I'm soon 24. I've been babysitting them since I was 15 y/o because no one wants to. I now have my own 2 y/o. Her FATHER GIVES me MONEY for her(it's in her account). I'm currently saving up to move out. Apt. are very expensive, a one bedroom is like 900-1100, so I'm thinking maybe a room mate. Maybe. I currently work $14 hr and also a HHA(home health aid) on the side. Im taking a break from college, but getting certificates. Point is Im with them a lot. she locks herself in her room & let them destroy the place. I used to try to play mom, but She Get mad if anyone tries to correct them. Guess family, friends & teachers are all lying. She gets mad when I have to work or have to go to school, or take care of my priorities and can't stay with them so she can work or go elsewhere. She's 31. I buy food in the house, which her kids deplete. She talks to me in a controlling way and HELP keep the place messy & barely ever cook for them. I see my child is picking up some of their bad traits. But not on my watch! When I told her I'm moving out next summer, her response was:Just make sure it's somewhere decent and you can watch the kids. Point is I AM GRATEFUL to have a roof over my head, but I have no peace/ privacy sharing room with her kids.I'm just scared, is next summer too soon? I DO NOT want 2 hear from anyone asking why I had a child before marriage, before a six fig. Salary. I HAD S*X, became preg. & CHOSE to keep her.Ok |
Question: Forced to babysit and clean? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 03:25 PM PDT I need advice, currently I m 21, I m living in my parents house. I really want to move out however I m disabled and get benefits from the government. The house we re living at, mom makes it seem like if I were to move out then they can t afford living here anymore. I have 3 younger sisters who live here and also 3 nieces and 1 nephew that were placed in our house. almost everyday me and my sister who s 18 are forced to raise and watch kids who s not ours for the last 6 years. all the time we get yelled out because of the kids making some messes. And every time my mom is in the same room as us, (me and my sister who s 18) all she does is nag about things. It makes me feel like she isn t grateful for anything we do. she also wants us to cook for the entire family which adds up to 10 and make a chore plan (which I did but it got messed up because of my sister who s 16) my mom said that me and my sister whos whos 18 have to do most of the house cleaning because "we re" adults. Even tho my other sisters are old enough as well. I never feel like I m their child, I feel like I m being used. I don t really feel any love between me and my parents. I m only close with my sister who s 18. Since I don t work and I m disabled I feel like, I m less of a person? that make me feel that way. My parents also argue all the time, whenever I try to compromise with them it always ends in arguements. Living in a place like this I can t help but be filled with negativity. |
Question: Grandmother`s bad behavior? Posted: 26 Sep 2019 02:45 PM PDT Hello, I need your advice on handling a very rude, self oriented and straight up careless person. Many would think it would be somebody like a co-worker,neighbor but its actually my grandmother. My fathers mother behaves like she is right in every situation, she thinks that she can get involved in my sibling`s personal life and everyone close to us. She disrespects my mother, doesn`t appreciate her at all. She complains on the smallest things that make her cause the biggest arguements, after which she always plays the victim in front of my father, who afterwards has sugar problems because of stress he gets at work. In our house of 5, only me, my brother and mom realized how bad she is but none of us can talk to dad and change our grandmother. An example of how bad of a person she is happened 4 years ago when my brother fell in love with a girl and our grandmother decides that she does not like her and goes to her uncle`s house to talk ****. The biggest problem there is that my brother has a heart problem. There is nothing wrong with the girl and all of us approve of her, except granny. Is there a way I can talk to my dad and make him talk to her about all the bad things she is doing ? She claims that she wants nothing but happiness for us all but acts otherwise. |
