Question: My narcissistic sister is now the center of all family gossip. Is this okay? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 12:29 PM PDT She is evil. |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 10:18 AM PDT A family member of mine has always kept a few painkillers in their bag and I never really questioned it until I asked for one when I was sick and they were all gone within a few days. There was originally 12, I had 3 over a few days and the rest were gone. She got very defensive when I asked where they had gone and there was clearly an elephant in the room that nobody wanted to discuss. The following day I checked her bag and there was 8 four packs of painkillers there. I looked up the painkillers she buys and they have codeine in them. should I do something about it? It's clearly not good to be abusing these things but it's a delicate subject |
Question: How do you deal with an abusive father? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 08:46 AM PDT All my dad has done my whole life is treat me like crap. He constantly call me names like fat *** , loser . He treats me like crap in front of people he told my one friend I had that I was gay and I'm not and I had transfer schools because that friend told people I'm gay. He s punched me in the face and in the kidney he never gives me a moments peace. He wakes me up on the morning by dumping cold water on me. His mom wants nothing to do with me. I'm constantly told no loves me he kicks me out of the house. I spent one x-mas eve outside all night because he kicked me out of the house for not wrapping a present perfectly. He slams me into walls kicks My dog. My mom will do nothing about it. She tells me he treats me that way because I am a horrible child. What do I do? |

Question: My M.I.L is a nightmare or am I just being crazy? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 06:05 AM PDT So this is probably going to be pretty long, so let me just start out by saying she's not actually my mother in law (yet) but me and my S.O have been together for 4 years now and are planning to move to the other side of the country in a the beginning of next year so we have agreed to move in with his parents to save up some extra cash to finance this big move and let me say it's been a nightmare. So the first major issue is the fact that she thinks I should pretty much be a maid for her son, let me elaborate one day |
Question: Why does family never see the sacrifices I make for them? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 05:37 AM PDT I turned down a job and haven't found another one for the sake of being my 19 year old sister's roommate because she never bothered to find a new roomie despite having 7 months notice. She never pays utilities, leaves piles of dishes on every surface, and never cleans up anything she spills. I leave her with mopping and taking out the trash because they are the only chores she will do. Our parents keep siding with my sister saying that I am the bad roommate. They think because I leave her the two chores that I must be responsible for every other mess. They insist it is too much for anyone to remember utilities which is total BS. No one believes me that I never had issues with dirty dishes before, insisting I must be part of the problem because the mess is so bad you can't access the sink, stove or counters. I had 5 roommates before and never had any issues because we had a rule you can't leave dirty dishes over night. I suggested this to my sister and wastold it wasn't fair and would never work. I tried making a chore chart that changed each week on rotation and she insisted it wasn't fair despite us having the same amount of chores. Every time I try and leave I am told I am ripping the family apart |

Question: Was this a form of bullying or abuse? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 01:12 AM PDT My cousin had come to stay in my house. He is a mannerless brat.He is addicted to electronic gadgets. One day he made fun of me for something which offended me. He keeps using my ipad endlessly. So i took the opportunity to hide the ipad to prevent him from using it. Then he went looking for it all over the house. Then when he coudnt find it he told his parents. Then they scolded me and i have to tell him where i kept my ipad. So does what i did count as bullying? |
Question: What gift to get my dad? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 01:07 AM PDT He's an electrical engineer He's not very materialistic He loves dogs He loves comedy and having a laugh He doesn't like large amounts of money being spent on him He can play the guitar and sing well — only serious responses and nothing like "you should know he's your dad" I just need ideas :) |
Posted: 10 Sep 2019 09:43 PM PDT I'm panicking and tearful right now. I just woke up and found that my best friend sent me a bunch of texts accusing me of invading her and her family's privacy. She says she forgives me but has to move on. She says that I violated her but doesn't explain how. Says that I changed. I honestly don't know what she's talking about - I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO HER OR HER FAMILY. I would never do anything to her. I barely spoke to her for a couple months now because she's been distant. But when we spoke over the phone a couple weeks ago she was fine and we had a few laughs. What do I do? I replied to her bunch of texts basically asking her to explain since I have no idea what she's talking about. But I'm panicking. She hasn't replied yet. I've tried to call her but my call won't go through ...I think she blocked my calls. Please help. |
Question: My boyfriends mom is pissed at me and I’m not sure what to do? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 08:38 PM PDT I live with my boyfriend and his parents. We had taken his mom to do an errand and she noticed my car drove off balanced. I told her it could be my back tires and I would need to deal with it when I could. Well a day later she tells my BF dad about it and everyone avoids telling him anything he makes everything 10x worse. He calls my BF down stairs and lays it on him saying the tire is messed up it's a hazard and what the hell are you doing we are worried and my bf said well it's expensive and we are trying to figure out where to get a good deal and that's when she was like you can finance a tire your tire is going to blow up and his dad is scolding and it's about my car. I felt bad so my BF said well you aren't paying for it so back off all you needed to say was you noticed the tire. His dad called my bf an ****** and that's when I got upset. I told his mom why would you tell his dad you know how he yells at him and everyone in the house avoids telling him things because he just makes it worse you went behind my back because we already talked about it. Of course I was upset and that's when everyone decides to walk through the door and his mom said well I was worried and I said I'm fine you should have just talked to me about it. She said she was sorry and wouldn't get into our business anymore but she was super pissed when she said it then told my boyfriend she was pissed for what I basically said to her and now we are both getting the cold shoulder. |
Posted: 10 Sep 2019 08:00 PM PDT So im a boy btw and im 16. My brother is 18. Btw we are really close. I was going to talk to him about something and instead of calling him "Bro" or something like that i called him "Love". I was so embarrass and he just burst out laughing, and now he is always moking me, saying "Why arent you calling me Love anymore?". Everyday he makes fun of me because UNINTENTIONNALLY i called him "Love", idk why i said that, it just came out of my mouth but i dint mean to. What do i do to make him stop moking me? Why did i unintentionally called my brother "love"???? |
Question: My mom said 'why dont you ask how you can help your mother achieve her dreams?'? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 07:30 PM PDT Sooo how do i do that? She seems to feel like i attacked her because i criticized a system... I told her i wasnt complaining about her. She doesnt get that i was not trying to say she did bad by me and im ungrateful. I was just trying to speak about a circumstance less subjectively (IMO). Could i be speaking too unemotionally at times and i accidentally hurt someones feelings? What can i do about that? How can i help my mom? Thanks |
Posted: 10 Sep 2019 07:23 PM PDT I am 25 years old. The youngest of 6. I still love at home and I currently take care of my mom. One of my sisters lives here with her son as well and she is 36 her son is 12. My mom is very ill she has congestive heart failure, kidney failure-dialysis patient, diabetes, asthma, on oxygen, very limited mobility, needs help with just about everything. Just recently had her big toe and the toe next to it amputated due to gangrene. All of my other siblings live within an hour of my mom but no one comes to visit her, asks me if I need help checks in on us. My sister who lives with us doesn't even do anything to help either. And she rubs off on her son and he doesn't do anything to help either it's gotten to the point of being very rude and disrespectful. I work a full time job and then o come home to take care of my mom. I've NEVER been in a relationship or involved with anyone in anyway and I literally have no friends. Why won't my own siblings help me take care of my mom? I have become very depressed and stuck in a rut. I'm currently trying to recover from a restrictive eating disorder as well. I really don't know what to do. I love my mom dearly and would die for her. Please offer me some advice on what I should do in this situation. |
Question: Why is my dad more socially liberal than me? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 05:39 PM PDT I mean, when it comes to social norms and accepting sexual minorities, we differ. My dad is more accepting of all these minority groups for some reason, but a few decades ago he was against them and always told me how bad some of these people when I was a kid. I still hold these opinions. I can't see myself accepting a group of trans people or getting along with them. Me and friends aren't super social conservatives, but we are when it comes to these topics. We just prefer social norms and we're just 20 year olds. My dad is now more liberal, but it feels odd realizing that. |
Posted: 10 Sep 2019 05:32 PM PDT Me and my fiance wants to move out of state were I'm from and taking his daughter would be a hassle due to she being completely attached to his mother, but here is the thing his mother is so attached to her grand daughter she calls her daughter and she don't let her out of sight he wants to get his baby mama to give up her rights since no 1 trust her to have her overnight or anything and his mom assumes she be getting those right appointed to her. If we try to take her to were I'm from she will be hot mess and blame me for my fiance for wanting to leave and taking his daughter, I'm leaving due to needing for my important surgerys being taking care of and getting help that I need. He wants to not be under his moms claw. How should we go about it and how to say something to his mother? . . We won't have a ride no where after that and his dad might pull a gun on him again. They told him already they will fight him if he ever decided to leave with his child. But if he don't take her he wouldn't ever be able to see her and he doesn't want that, and also I be getting treated like **** even more til we leave. |
Question: Trespassing laws in South Carolina. Help.? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 05:14 PM PDT I live with my grandparents and my bedroom is at the very end of the house connected to the dining room. My bedroom used to be a living room but when I moved in I converted it. Everyone knows it s my bedroom and I don t like people in there without my say so. Every family member has been expressly told not to go in there without my permission unless it s my grandparents. Well I had noticed my stuff was being moved around one day and then the same thing with other stuff every so often. Well I bought a camera at Wal-Mart and set it up. Turns out my uncle s wife has been going into my room and digging through my things. Since I ve installed it I ve caught her on 4 occasions going through my bags and digging through my clothes. Even reading papers about my dogs vet bills. I told my mom and she s the only reason I have yet to confront the woman. My mother does everything for my grandparents because they re almost 90 and can t do that much. My mom is there pretty much all afternoon into wee hours of the morning everyday. But she can t be there in the morning to help get my grandparents their medicine so my uncle s wife volunteered originally. I don t want to confront her because it will put my mom in a bad spot trying to help my grandparents. I would but my work schedule has me leaving anywhere from 7am to 2pm to go to work. I was just curious of there was any law or something I could get her for trespassing or something. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated you guys. |
Question: Would I be a bad person if I told my 7 year old cousin Santa Claus doesn't exist? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 05:07 PM PDT I am 20 and want to tell her the truth, most parents lie to their children getting them excited for Christmas I want my cousin to believe the truth and not be disappointed on Christmas 25. |
Question: Is 7 years a big age gap in siblings? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 04:07 PM PDT Hi I want to be close to my sister in age but I don't really know if I am. She is 7 years older than me. Whenever people ask me how old is your sister, I feel nauseous and just tell them to shut up. Sometimes I wish I had a twin because I feel isolated from my sister (she is leaving for college tomorrow) just because of this age gap. Be honest with me, do you think 7 years is close or far apart in age? Do you think siblings with that gap will fight less and have less of a bond, or fight and have as much of a bond as siblings with a 2 year age gap? Be honest. |
Question: DO you ever feel like a burden to your parents? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 03:41 PM PDT You don't know how lucky some of you are sigh |
Question: What is the difference between a kid and a slave? Posted: 10 Sep 2019 03:23 PM PDT A kid is forced to do chores like a slave. A kid gets low pay just like a slave. If some one else mowed our lawn, our parents would pay them substantially more than what they pay me. If a slave disobeyed his or her master, he or she was whipped. When kids disobey parents they get whipped with a belt or spanked. |
