Question: I am seeing my Mom's cousin tonight. How do I treat him? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 02:38 PM PDT Growing up I thought he was racist and so a bad guy and his Dad was an alcoholic and my Mom made children of alcoholics bad guys. But as an adult I learned his father was the bigot and not him as well as realizing my Mom was cruel to children of alcoholics and they are not at fault at all (nor is the alcoholic for it is a disease). How do I treat this guy? I usually on see him at funerals and he has his 20 year old son with him. |
Question: How do I make money and move out? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 02:34 PM PDT So, I'm 21 years old. I have a part time job. I was an idiot in high school and didn't try. Now, I'm sitting here, depressed, trying to figure out I can go back to school, get my numbers up and get out, or find a gig that pays enough to let me move out of my state. How can I do this? |
Question: My sister is cruel. What do I tell people when they ask how she is these days? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 02:28 PM PDT |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 02:27 PM PDT My mother has Bipolar and alcoholism. When she does something I say "she can't help it, she has an illness". This includes like when she stole from my sister in law for alcohol money or stole photos and edited them to make them look like her sister was having an affair to get her sister back. All these things are wrong but I don't want my Mom criticized as I am her protector. My two brothers won't talk to her so I won't talk to them. |

Question: What to do when grounded? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 12:53 PM PDT |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 12:24 PM PDT |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 11:53 AM PDT I graduated two years ago. I got pregnant my senior year and had a child. I had to live in an apartment. I had no job, so no money. I had to stay home. Unfortunately, my baby passed away. I was allowed to move back in with my parents. A year after my daughter passed, my mom demanded I get a job, because my fiance was already working. So I did. The job made me super stressed, and I despised it, but I did it. Then my mother demanded I go to college. For reasons my work wouldn't tell me, I was then fired following an unknown investigation. I started college several weeks ago, and I'm taking five classes, including a 5hrs a day/2 days a week chemistry class. I am not good in school, and now I'm finding I'm so stressed out that my depression is through the roof, I'm feeling suicidal again, I spend a lot of time crying, and I can't focus at all and the stress is making me sick. On top of college, I also have to help my mom with crap around the house or she gets angry, I have to help with my grandma, I have to babysit, and on top of that, my fiance and I are trying to clean our area in the basement. I know college isn't for me, and my fiance is furious that my mom made me go to college seeing what it's done to me. I want to drop out and do something that doesn't involve college. My mom will be angry if I do. What should I do?? |
Question: Question about the Sandy Hook Elementary School? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 11:30 AM PDT Doesn't this shooting show how right civil rights activitst were in closing mental hospitals back in the 1960's. The sole threat of committing Adam Lanza made him snap. His mother got what was expected from such a threat. I mean, it's like if your mother tells you "I'm going to commit you". Wouldn't you react? None of you is gonna get BA |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 10:31 AM PDT If your parent was really ill and you didn't know how long they have left would you leave your job and place behind? Would you leave everything to help take care of your other parent and help them through it all along with other siblings in the household? I'm stuck and not sure what to do! I've been at my current career and place for over 3 years. I can't stop thinking about how much regret I would have not being around but also dropping and leaving everything behind seems irresponsible and foolish! Just want to get this off my mind and get your 100 honest opinions about it. Thank you all! |
Question: Should i send my deadname to mars? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 10:22 AM PDT me and my dad are big space nerds and when we heard about this mars thing we immediately wanted to send our names too. but i'm agender and neither of my parents know, it's still a bit unsafe for me to come out ,at least to my mom. my parents still call me by my deadname and because of this i kept telling myself i'd do this later, but now i only have a few days to do this. i'm scared of using my chosen name because i fear my parents might see it, but this is very important to me because space is one of the few things me and my dad were able to bond over. my parents are separated and my mom never really let us se him too much, for most of my life i thought he was the bad guy who didnt know how to be a father when clearly my mom was the abusive one, and i just never really got to know him. recently i did though and i love my dad. sure, i'm a bit angry that he's never really noticed how much my mom hurts me, but i've seen him try to better his relationship with her and i'm thankful. i love my dad, and this has kind of become an "us" thing to me. i mean, we're sending our names to space!! me and my dad's. it's really important to me, so that's why i don't want to use my deadname, but as i said, i don't know if its safe for me. should i send my deadname to mars or should i send my chosen one? (p.s.: i apologize if there are any mispellings or grammatical errors, english isn't my first language) |
Question: I want to move in with my cousins? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 10:17 AM PDT I am thinking of moving in with my uncle/aunt/cousins because they live better lives than I do living with my parents. My life is about cities, school, seriousness, and their lives are about farms, ranches, animals, country, socializing. In December, they are going to Texas (one of my favorite places) for like the 50th time and I am so jealous of them because I have only gone there twice! They go to Texas more than I do because they have family there and I don't (my uncle is married to my aunt by marriage and they had kids and my aunt by marriage is the one with family in Texas. No one in my maternal family is in or from Texas)! I have family in Colorado and so do my cousins and have gone there many times but I like Texas way better! I also don't know why my cousins' family never invite me to go to Texas with them. I hate the way my life is and wish I had their lives! I feel like a misfit and people just don't understand. How do I discuss this with my parents? |
Question: My fiancé hates my family, I feel like piggy in the middle and I don t know what to do.? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 09:11 AM PDT My fiancé hates my family. He is nice when he s around them but he openly shares his feelings with me and makes me feel guilty when he has to spend time with them. We only ever see them very rarely. This year, he doesn t want Christmas with them and that my family won t understand why. I, personally feel it is a time for family but I am going to be split. |
Question: How do I get my family members to stop calling me a nickname I hate? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 08:39 AM PDT I'm not going to say it here so no YA idiots call me it. But my family members have been addressing me by a particular nickname for as long as I can remember and I just hate it so much. I hate the sound of the nickname it is like the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard to me every time I hear it. My whole childhood, I've asked my relatives to stop calling me that, but they just don't stop. My mother is the only one who addresses me by the nickname that I prefer, and family has heard my mom call me the preferred name, but still they all just call me the name I hate. I tried to ignore them, but when I hear it so many times, my head just wants to explode. What can I do? |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 08:29 AM PDT Hi, my mom just told me that my dad and this guy I know's dad are cousins, does that make me and that guy cousins? |
Question: How to deal with sort of controlling parents? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 08:19 AM PDT Hey, I m a 18 year old female that s 4 11. I want to hang out with friends and new people but when I ask my parents they immediately say no because "oh I only know them from the phone" "Dad won t be home when you want to hang out with them" It s frustrating and I m just debating going out and hanging out with my friends despite them saying no because they ve even admitted to sheltering me. It s like they don t listen to me when i tell them i know how to protect myself. I don t know if I m just being dumb but it s really upsetting because I feel like I m not being treated like an adult, I should be able to hang out with friends. They also won't even let me use uber or lyft because "oh you're gonna get kidnapped" and it's so tiring. |
Posted: 19 Sep 2019 06:39 AM PDT He has been divorced now for six years and when he was married he and my mother were not particularly close at all in fact his wife hated my mother since she was friends with one of my ex-aunts enemies. Now that they are divorced my uncle is with my Mom more often then even my Dad is. They even travel together to my mother's beach house. |
Question: Why do some people make their kids eat school lunch? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 06:38 AM PDT School lunches aren't very healthy so I always cook and pack my kids their lunch. If I have the time, I would cook them a full meal. |

Question: No one likes my sister, thus should I feel bad that I don't like her either? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 03:50 AM PDT She is a mean and narcissistic adult who acts like she is twelve. |
Question: Is my 4 yr old being physically and emotionally abused? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 03:48 AM PDT My four year old and seven year old daughters are currently living with their grandmother until the school year is finished and then they will move back with me. I always come for a visit and stay a week every month. My 7 yr old is striving and doing so much better in school and my 4 yr is learning at an advanced rate as well( grandmother is retired school teacher). They really respect her and tell her they love her regularly as well as hang around her and give her hugs and kisses. I am so perplexed by recent events this time around. When I came in I wanted to take them swimming but her grandmother explained four year old was acting out bad in school so she wouldn't be able to go. First instance... second instance was my 4 year old asked to be helped with wiping herself and her grandma said "you know how to wipe yourself so do it yourself" so I let it go and let her be independent... next thing I know, she again asks me for help the next day so I went into the bathroom to help and oh my god .... I |
Question: Is my husband overprotective of our kid? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 03:48 AM PDT My 23 year old daughter has a boyfriend who's 20. Sometimes when he's in town he sleeps in her bedroom with her. I'm pretty sure they do it but she's a grown woman at this point. He seems sweet with her. My husband doesn't like it but we have younger kids to worry about |
Question: Is my 4 year old being physically and mentally abused? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 03:46 AM PDT |
Question: My dad makes me feel bad about myself + he has changed a lot? Posted: 19 Sep 2019 02:57 AM PDT My dad and I went to Mexico for 7 weeks. He dropped me off at my mom's side of the family for 5 weeks and then went to pick me up so I could spend the rest of the 2 weeks where he was. Those last 2 weeks I made a comment saying that I'm excited to turn 24 and he said 'yeah but you still have no decent job'. I also once mentioned I was craving some sort of food and he told me I shouldn't be thinking of food because I'm very fat. From there on he started saying that I ruined his vacation and that I should've just stayed with my mom's family and should have never come with him to stay the last 2 weeks we were gonna be there because he wanted to go party but didn't want me to stay alone in the house, but he said it so harshly that it just left me cold. I already suffer from anxiety but from there on my anxiety has been through the roof. Now that we're back home 2 weeks later I just dont even attempt to make small talk cause im scared he'll talk harshly or say something thatll hurt my feelings. He's always had a harsh tone when he gets mad about something. He just gets annoyed or mad about the smallest things more frequently now, I don't know why... I haven't told my mom any of this only my brother. I can't get those words out of my head, they're constantly replaying and he thinks everything is ok. He's always insulting my weight though. And it's not like i can talk to him about it because he'll just insult me more. Idk why but he just has a harsher tone and loses temper quicker. |
Question: Is it wrong for a 17 year old guy to hit his mom? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 09:31 PM PDT I remember when I was 17 my mom came in to take my video games away for something I did and I was really pissed and didn't give a f about **** so as soon as she tried to hit me I kicked her a few times on the side of her waist and then ran to the bathroom lock it but her hand got caught in the door while I was holding it really hard so she wouldn't come in, I thought she was just right there but after minutes of trying to close the door she started crying loud in pain saying her hand was hurting so I released the door and I got out of the bathroom and she was just there holding her own hand while looking at me with her eyes red from the tears of pain. When I was 18 same thing except I just punched her body a couple times. And now I'm 21 living with my aunt cause I was kicked out for hitting my little brother, but my aunt is already making me want to beat her up as well cause she keeps scolding me every day for not going to work. Never told anyone about this btw. Neither has my mom other than family members. What do you think? |
Question: Should I leave my long term gf or stick around for my kids? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 08:50 PM PDT Ok so simply put my gf does not respect me or treat me well at all.shell talk to and flirt with anyone that will sneak her booze and weed when I m not around. she s a total psycho drunk. Everyone we know thinks I m a controlling piece of **** cause I beg her to stop drinking and she plays the poor lil pity me card very well. she s ALWAYS smoking weed and sleeping the day away totally neglecting our kids. She s a MEAN violent drunk and drinks often. The children have witnessed it many many times and dont want to leave with her at ALL and our 11 yo son "not mine but I raised him from 1 yo" claims that if she leaves with him hes going to fight the cops to come back and has even threatened suicide. Our twin daughters "7" do very much love her but have witnessed so much messed up **** that they openly tell people mommy s a mean drunk and mommy smokes too much weed. Our youngest is 4 and dosnt understand but sees mommy screaming at everyone all the time and threatening to take them all away and hes frightened by it... most would say yes leave ! But I m not on the twins birth certificate and I m having hell figuring out how to correct it also... I have no rights to the 11 yo AT ALL but I can t let him go . I promised him I d never give up on him. her drinking drunken outbursts and EXTREMELY slobby habits have run away all friends and family. I can t give up on my babies but I can t deal with this girls **** for another 10 years Any and all REAL advice would be much appreciated |
Question: Would you disown your daughter for dating a black man? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 08:49 PM PDT Statistically black men are less reliable partners. They tend to have higher crime rates, less employment, lower earning power, less likely to be involved in their children's lives, have a lower life expectancy, and many grew up in single-parent households. I know that there are plenty of decent black men out there but even if my daughter found one, she'd have to deal with the scrutiny and gossip that comes with dating a black man. Even if they break up, most white men wouldn't want a woman that's been with a black man. She would be subject to a host of terrible names like mud shark and coal burner. Is it wrong to want your daughter to to avoid dating black men not out of racism but for the sake of her best interest? |
Question: Friend is 20. Baby daddy 17. Child 2. Dad keeping baby from mother.? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 08:13 PM PDT My best friend is 20 years old and her baby daddy is 17. They have a daughter who is almost 2 years old. About 2 weeks ago was the weekend for her to stay at her father s house. Then they were late on taking her back home that Sunday. My best friend has called the cops on them multiple times, but, they arent doing anything to take the child away. The adoptive mother of the baby daddy had the idea to keep the child instead of taking her back home. They are now trying to trick her into believing that his new girlfriend is the mother of the child. The adoptive mother technically is not allowed to legally be near the child. Yet the police are failing to do their job. Not to mention the adoptive mother is a pill popper who believes that she can buy her way out of everything. Me, being the protective best friend, AND technical aunt to this child, as in I grew up with her mother, I was just now informed of this at the last minute. What do you believe I should do? She already has a court order and she is waiting for the date to arrive. |
Question: My parents constantly ask for money.? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 05:32 PM PDT I moved out because I was never going to be able to save for anything because all they did was drain my money. It also continues even when i don't live with them. They spent over 60,000 dollars I gave them all in 3 months. What do you think they are doing with the money??? How do I go about this? It is becoming extremely annoying!!!! |
Question: Should I send money again to a person bc they claim they didn't get it? Posted: 18 Sep 2019 05:17 PM PDT So, two weeks ago My family and other relative families went to have some fun and one person paid for all the families and we had to pay it back. So I sent the money for our family to that person on cash up. I send her some few money first and the rest later . I was able to see she got the first one. However that person said that they didn't receive it. I checked both account and it showed it went to her and that money was less than before. Now they said its okay they will pay for me but not tell my family but I don't feel good about and I am so broke right now. Should I send her money again? This person is like my cousin and I know its gonna be awkward the next time we meet. |
