Question: Should I keep what I found? I need advice!? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 09:10 AM PDT It is a long story, but I need third party advice please. I found a gold Dimond ring in a bar and left with it because I though it was fake and I was drunk. It is not a wedding ring, but looks like an old family ring. I called three times to see if anybody is looking for it, but they said no. Although, it did not sound like they checked around. The person that lost it was most likely drunk and may not know they lost it there plus they were not being responsible with something so valuable. My family is making me feel bad about walking out with it and think I should give it back to the bar. I do not see how things would change if the bar had it if nobody is looking for it. Plus if it is not claimed I would like to keep it and if I gave it to the bar somebody there would most likely get it. My mom said she does not like to keep anything that does not belong to her because we have money and it looks like the person that lost it does not have a lot of money because the band was bent to adjust the size. I also know what it feels like to lose an expensive ring. I found the ring when I was having a bad day and it made me feel good. It has been two weeks. I do not know where to go from here. I am trying to figure out what I am morally obligated to do. My heart is broken for the person that lost it, but I do not want the ring to sit unworn. Is it okay to get the ring adjusted to my finger and keep it or should I continue calling the bar or take further measures to find the owner. |
