Question: How much should you spend on a wedding gift? Posted: 01 Jun 2016 10:20 PM PDT I'm one of the ushers at the wedding. I've never been in a wedding or had to buy a gift. Am I supposed to mail the gift to them before the wedding or do I bring the gift to the wedding? Also the groomsmen and ushers are having a get together in a couple weeks. Do I need to bring something. I'm just not used to all this. I'm a really reserved person. |
Question: Why are people's 2nd weddings usually very small and not many people as well as simple? Posted: 01 Jun 2016 05:02 PM PDT My sister is getting married for the second time next weekend and there are seven members of our family attending. Her first wedding there were 25 on my fathers side and 13 on my mother's side. Also my parents had 20 people who were family friends to the wedding (including people's kids). The husband's family was another 20-30 people. This wedding is just seven members of our family and one friend of my mother's. So eight of us. So I am just curious why this is? Nobody is upset about the marriage or opposing it in any way. It is a destination wedding which is the reason some of the extended family can't make it but only about 20 people were invited down from 62 people at the first wedding from our family and my parents friends alone. So I am just curious why this is? The first marriage my sister was considered innocent by everyone (the now ex was having affairs) and people were a lot more worried in that marriage. So why are 2nd weddings so much smaller? |
Question: Can I get married in a different county that my marriage licence is filed at? Posted: 01 Jun 2016 02:49 PM PDT So I live in Pflugerville TX, so it's 20 minutes from Wilco and 20 to downtown Austin, I went to Willco to get my marriage license yesterday, but most of my family lives in Austin, can I use the Wilco fount marriage licence to get married in Travis county? Will they make me get a different marriage licence or will I be fine? I already called the court house and they set a time for me to go get married. But will it make a difference, I just don't want to have to pay another $80 on a different licence. And it was $10 cheaper in Wilco... |

Question: How do I get a judge to marry me in Austin TX. No ceremony? Posted: 01 Jun 2016 11:28 AM PDT I don't want a ceremony! All I want is to go to the court house, sign the paperwork and be done. I want it to take 10 minutes no vows no boring long speech nothing. Just go in, get out married, I have my marriage licence already but idk how to pick a judge do I just call them or email them? How long in advanced do I need to call them? How can I get it done in their office instead of the courthouse.. I don't really care but I know my family would prefer that. |
Posted: 01 Jun 2016 09:27 AM PDT It is a second wedding and a destination wedding so it will just be my siblings and I, my parents, and an aunt from our family. Her first wedding was big with cousins-aunts-uncles, etc.... but this one will be small. The husband's parents have a small group of family but they have lots of friends coming (the new husband's father is a state politician and well known). So how social should I be and what if I start feeling sad that are grandparents can't come (three have died and one has Alzheimers)? @Happiest in the kitchen------Three of them have died and one doesn't know anyone at this point due to severe Alzheimers @Mamawisdom------Three of them have died and one doesn't know anyone at this point due to severe Alzheimers |
Question: Backyard wedding ideas? Posted: 01 Jun 2016 06:54 AM PDT Me and my girlfriend are getting married in our backyard, will be inviting about 20 people or so and it will be a pretty short and simple wedding as 1) I hate hate hate being the center of attention and the thought of 20 sets of eyes on me is terrifying and 2) we plan to leave for our "honeymoon" weekend getaway right after and 3) because we are 20 and 22 and paying for it ourselves so we have a small budget. I ve been to maybe 3 weddings in my life so I m just lost with the planning aspect. What are some cute outdoor decoration ideas y all have? And the biggest thing for me is the sequence of events. Our wedding is going to be in the morning, SUPER CASUAL AND LAID BACK and just a good time we hope. Thinking of just having a donut bar set up inside since it s not going to be a sit down meal type thing. Do we still need a cake since its in the morning? Also I d like to state that we are both females so this is a lesbian wedding, finally legal in all 50 states!!! #lovewins ❤️ Lol anyway! I m open to any and all ideas anyone could share because I m overwhelmed and drawing a blank! Thanks in advance!! |
