Question: Do you believe in traditional gender roles within marriage? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 09:29 PM PDT I'm looking for diverse opinions, not just responses that agree with my own, but personally I do believe in traditional gender roles in a marriage. I am a liberal Christian, and also firm feminist. I agree that men and women should be treated equally in the professional world since we are all humans and equal citizens of the Unifed States and shouldn't face discrimination one way or another, however I feel that personal relationships don't always have to be the same way. Like it or not, men and women are different. If we were meant to have the exact same responsibilities in a marriage we would have been created exactly the same. But it's just not the case. And while I understand that many others reading this don't base their relationships off of Scripture, I do and it states that a wife should be submissive to her husband and that her husband is essentially the leader of the family. I don't believe that the Bible means the woman is required to do everything her husband says without giving her input or without talking about things together, but yes I do believe the husband is the head of the household and the woman has a different, but equally important, role to fill. That being said, it doesn't have to mean that a wife should be a stay at home mom who does all the cooking and cleaning while her husband works all day. It CAN mean that but I think it's purely the choice of the couple, and regardless of what role each fills their work should be treated as equally important. |

Question: Is her husband legally the father? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 08:36 PM PDT I currently just found out the woman I slept with and impregnated turned out to be married. Turns out her husband is in prison and she lied about being single. I'm hoping I can still count as the legal father since it's biologically mine but she's married. |
Question: I cheated on my wife!! F**K!? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 08:36 PM PDT My wife of 6 years and I have been having A LOT of problems nothing too serious, she tells me I m not the man she married anymore. She s always putting me down she even tells me she hates me even my presence she hates she s always telling me I m a piece of sh*t, when I ask her why she feels that way she has no response. We got married very young with a kid on the way. Ok so there s this girl who I haven t talked to since high school she used to be a good friend of my wife s and I but now they hate each other anyways she gets ahold of me and we hang out, she asked me about my wife and I tell her everything that s been going on. Posted: 21 Jun 2016 08:33 PM PDT I'm a middle aged divorced mom who right now has no desire to be in a relationship, but I do desire sex. Is that normal/common? Is it bad that I feel that way? Would it be OK for me to have a sex life without being in a relationship? I'm very sexually interested in a guy who is about half my age. I know he's interested in me. Would it be OK if we had a purely sexual relationship? I am 5'3 and 110 pounds if that's a question |
Question: I've done something stupid. How can I save my marriage? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 08:30 PM PDT I've been married for a year. When we were engaged we had gotten into a fight over something and in my anger I called an ex boyfriend and complained to him about what happened. My then-fiancé walked in the room asked who I was speaking to I told him... We then got into an argument over that but we managed to get past it. Then about 3 months ago I contacted this same ex over email. I was lonely it was stupid and he basically said don't get ur emotional support from me. So the exchange lasted just a few emails and that's it. The difference is this time I was already married. The fact that I contacted an ex as a married woman... Disgusts me, it was so stupid. I love my husband so much... I felt so guilt ridden that I did that after I had already told him I would never contact an ex... He never found out about the emails but I felt so guilty I finally told him. He was devastated. He wanted to know- How did i do this AGAIN? And how did I then keep this from him for so long? Now he says ok u said once you won't do it again but u didn't stand by it. What's gonna happen next? In a year we'll get into an argument you'll contact him again? I tell him no it was so stupid I don't want to ruin my marraige over and I was crying. I told him that the exchange was just emails I hadn't met with him or even spoke on the phone... He said it doesn't matter he doesn't know if he can trust me anymore. How can I get my husband back and his trust? |

Posted: 21 Jun 2016 08:08 PM PDT My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 5 years now and have talked about marriage, even more so lately. I pack his bag for work with his lunch and macbook and found a book for a jewelry store in it a few weeks ago. He ordered a ring today, I went to use his macbook and he left the order up on the screen so I saw it. (bad I know) But I HATE the ring! The processing time for the order is 5-10 business days so he still has some time to cancel. I found a ring I am in love with and it is only a couple hundred dollars more and I know the money wouldn t be an issue. Do I send him a picture of the ring so he cancels the order? How would I phrase it without letting him know I saw the other ring? I really don t want to hurt his feelings and the issue has nothing to do with the size it is the setting. I don t have a poker face so I don t think I would be able to hide the fact I don t like it when he proposes. Please help |

Question: Wife is always angry, how do I deal with it !? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 05:26 PM PDT My wife and I have been married for about a year and a half now and we were engaged for 3 yrs and living together before marriage. Now days it seems like she is a hair pin trigger, she will nag on anything and everything I do and she gets mad at me for being me... like if there's something I wanna do she says oh that's stupid come-on why are going to do that when "we" can do these other things instead. I can never have me time she's always gotta be involved in what I do even if I go and hang with the guys and there all looking at me like WTF u bring her for. She says I never listen to her or back her up or just hear her out but I'm all ears I ask her about her day and if she wants to talk all the time and her response is no I don't feel like talking right now you won't listen anyways and then she wants to cuddle up on me immediately after. She automatically assumes I won't listen or don't care when all I show her are love and affection. And if anything goes wrong around the house or at all she blames her self for it even when I fully admit I'm wrong or I was the one who did it I guess what I'm getting at is why does she feel like no one cares about her and feels like every thing is her fault? Also why is she so touchy the littlest thing if said wrong can make her erupt in tears. I have to walk on eggshells when I talk to her aswell . |
Question: What do you think about young marriages, between the ages of 19-22? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 05:19 PM PDT I'm not talking about arranged marriages. I realize in many cultures it's very normal for a couple to be married at a young age due to an arranged marriage, but what about couples that choose to have a more natural relationship and marry at a young age? Do you think it's too young? What about special circumstances, such as one couple in particular that I know who dated since their freshman year of high school, and just recently finished their first year of college together and got married. They are the same major at the same school and have been together nearly 5 years. Is that acceptable? I'm really not asking for myself, I'm just curious to get general diverse opinions. I myself was quite surprised when I came to college at a southern school after growing up in the Midwest to see all these couples getting engaged/married before they even graduate with their Bachelors. I honestly didn't know that was a thing. I assumed getting married while in college was considered absurd but apparently not. |
Question: Does he sound divorced? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 05:14 PM PDT Whenever he says "my daughter and her mom", he would always pause before saying the "her mom" part. He never says "my wife". And recently he says they will visit him from another country. |
Question: Husband not as frisky as usual? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 05:00 PM PDT He is 36, I'm 31. Our sex life was healthy for years until we got married 9 months ago. We went from 5x per week to once every couple of weeks. The longest was a month. I have told him about my frustration with the change a few times, but things stay the same. If I initiate, he's not in the mood and I get rejected. He is a good man; I don't suspect infidelity. We are both still in shape. Perhaps his sex drive is slowing down? Comments from people who have experienced something similar are greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Question: What should I do in this situation? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 03:17 PM PDT My husband and I both grew up in very traditional families where the husband is the head of the house and the wife should listen to him. We carried this on into our relationship and it was all good at first. Now I have been having some problems. Once my children go to school, I would like to get a job. I brought this up to my husband the other day and he said that I should not get one as it is not a woman's place to get a job. I don't want to upset him but I also have goals of my own. I have always done what he asked but now I want to have some say in it. Does anyone else have this problem? |

Question: Is Wife s somewhat see through swimsuits too revealing or ok in 2016? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 03:03 PM PDT My wife and I are a happily married couple both 40 years old. She is an attractive blonde, 36C, at a nice lean weight. She works out regularly to keep her body in great shape. For two weeks a year we vacation on the beach. The swimsuits she buys are unlined and therefore when wet see through. When she exits the ocean in a wet swimsuit lets just say the details of her body can be easily viewed. She says no one else has ever complained accept me and its is 2016 after all. So should I stop complaining and just enjoy the view ? |
Posted: 21 Jun 2016 02:58 PM PDT I brought her over to the states. We were married for 10 years and have three kids. She emptied my bank accounts and ran back to Manila with all of our kids. The courts won't let me get any visitation there or do anything about getting my money back. I have no more money to buy another third world wife and I don't want my kids to be raised completely by and poisoned by this two faced feminazi btch. What can I do? why is she so mad. i didn't do anything except pay a 19 yr old for sex a few times on my business trip to thailand. |
Posted: 21 Jun 2016 01:45 PM PDT Any other women would entertain this thought or would do this just because your husband wants you to? No, I am not hooking up with anyone nor do I want to in return. Question: Controlling husband ? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 01:44 PM PDT My husband is overseas (Military). Sometimes when we get into a disagreement, He tends to put me down. Like earlier when I was laughing at him over the phone he said He was serious and I need to grow up and that I was immature. It kinda hurt my feelings but it's not the 1st time he's put me down. Are some military husband's like this when they want to be in control of their marriage/relationships ? Thanks. |

She has told me 'my husband loves his men, he has had several during this marriage' Thing is she doesnt mind and i even do sleep with her too as i like men and women. So basically i am sleeping with a married man and a married women. Strange thing is, he is not interested in being with me and his wife at the same time, so i sleep with him seperatly and sleep with her seperately, they sleeo in seperate rooms too. Posted: 21 Jun 2016 11:53 AM PDT The other day we went to my father-in-law's house for Father's Day to have dinner. About half way through my wife turns to me and says: "I'm gonna let my little sis spend the night with us because she said she misses us; also this can be a once a month or every few weeks thing." and before I know it she was asking her Dad if he would be fine with it. Here I am kind of pissed because she didn't ask how I felt about it. I don't know what's wrong with me; I'm a little irritated that she's gonna be staying over tomorrow though. I feel like a bad person for feeling this way, I honestly can't say no because I know in reality it's going to make her think I hate her family. I don't have the greatest relationship with her father anyways. |
Question: Is it weird that I don't want my kids to have two homes after our divorce? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 11:45 AM PDT My husband and I have been divorced for two years and he always comes to my place to see the kids as he prefers it that way. He never takes the kids to his place. I don't want my kids to have two homes anyways even though we are divorced. My friends and family have told me this is unhealthy since we are no longer married and not getting back together and it is misleading to the kids. Is it weird that I don't want my kids to have two homes? |
Question: Is it a good idea to paint a pretty picture of my ex husband or will it backfire one day? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 11:32 AM PDT My ex husband and father of my children is a sex offender who can only be around our children supervised. He also is inconsistent about paying child support, being a supportive father and has refused to help me with other things regarding our kids. Despite all this I allow him to see our kids supervised and paint a great picture for our kids and how much he loves them and what a great successful man he is. I have been told by friends and family that this will backfire on me one day and I should not go overboard to paint a pretty picture of him. They have told me not to speak ill of him in front of the kids but to also not go overboard on telling them he's a great man and father. I feel I am doing this for the sake of my kids. Am I doing the wrong thing and will it backfire one day and if so how? |
Question: Not sure how to proceed with restraining order....? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 11:24 AM PDT I am currently separated from my husband. The separation was not mutual and he was not happy about me wanting a divorce. He was active on dating websites throughout our marriage and eventually his internet addictions wort down my tolerance. He has been physically abusive in the past and I fear him very much. I was able to get a order of protection on him because he kept threatening me however he violated the order within ten minutes of being served and is now in jail awaiting our court date. The judge gave him an extremely high bond due to his criminal past. My daughter is very upset that her father is in jail, she cries and thinks it is my fault. I feel guilty that her father is away from her but at the same time I am afraid. We have our court date coming up soon and I am not sure how this will go. I want to be safe from him but at the same time do not want to hurt my child. Any suggestions on how to proceed? |

Posted: 21 Jun 2016 09:54 AM PDT I don't get it, the guy works and earns all the money, and buys everything, pays for most everything. The women just cleans the house, and maybe watches the kids. Yet she gets half your stuff, despite only doing maybe a fifth of the work you do. Why? And is a pre-nup the only way to stop a woman from destroying your life like so? of course is the wife is the breadwinner, she should get all or most everything So, shelove, if I owned a candy business or something, and it was worth 2 million or so, and I already had 600k in the bank or something saved up from it. If I got married, and didn't make a prenup, she's entitled to that money? That's pretty fvcked up tbh. Not saying I wouldn't buy her stuff, but the fact that she could leave the next day with half of MY LIVELIHOOD, is pretty messed up this is all hypothetical Katie, don't get your panties in a knot <:-) |
Posted: 21 Jun 2016 09:39 AM PDT For this question, I'm defining hardship as anyone who doesn't make at least $30k individually. This would immediately make single income families in hardship if the single income person wasn't making at least $60k (plus another $10k for each child in the family). "Next is the lower-middle class, which is primarily comprised of lower-level, white-collar workers. These workers typically have college educations, but lack the graduate degrees needed to advance to higher levels of employment. Income for these workers generally falls between $32,500 and $60,000." http://money.usnews.com/money/personal-finance/articles/2012/09/13/where-do-you-fall-in-the-american-economic-class-system I don't make the rules, I just learn how to live within them... |

Question: Husband got in argument with friend feel he was out of line!? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 07:53 AM PDT I live in with my husband. Money is a little tight living in NYC. A friend of ours ives at home at 29. She's moving to NYC. My husband offered to help her find a place. She wants a 1BR apartment with all upgraded counters, appliances etc for $1500 per month. My husband said that's a huge stretch. She became defensive saying he didn't know what he was talking about. He also recommended to her a furniture store that was reasonable priced. She got offended? and said to him you realize how expensive furniture is? It's going to be at least $15,000 for me to furnish my place. I don't want cheap junk like you have at your apartment. My husband was then a bit rude to her and made a dig. She'd mentioned she had $80,000 in her savings account and asking his parents for $20,000 for furniture He basically said he can't imagine asking his parents for that amount of money with that much in his savings account. She fired back why should I touch my savings account? My friend has always been a bit of a diva and that attitude has cost her many friendships. She would constantly buy "high end" products while living at home and bragging about it to friends. She would make digs such as Id never shop at cheap stores like JCPenny or Macy's. My husband has said she's not welcome to our place ever again and wants me to end the friendship. To me, he should have just minded his own business. I felt he was out of line and should not have involved himself in her finances. What do you think? |

Posted: 21 Jun 2016 07:03 AM PDT Seriously what exactly are wives for? Are they meant to be sex objects only? I am so disappointed in my husband. Recently my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer so I came over to my parents place to spend a few days with him since I m way too close to him. My husband didn t have any issues then. It s been 4 days now and I m going back tomorrow. And I do meet him everyday. But today he s been acting so weird. Not talking or replying to my texts. Seriously this is the time I need his support and this is how he is supporting me?! Yesterday my dad was going for his treatment and I was really upset and I cried. He called me told me not to cry and all I understood and told him yes I m trying to be as strong as I can. He said you re pregnant and its not good for you and all I told him sometimes it s just not in your control..since then he s been acting strange..it s his sexual frustration I know But what I don t understand is that is that all the relationship we have?sex?no emotional support or anything??? I am hating him at the moment to be very honest. Really don t want to go back but I have to. I have no idea how am I going to handle everything. |
Question: What to do when your husband says he wants space or more freedom...? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 06:40 AM PDT So this last month my husband (of one year, we also have a daughter together) has wanted to go out more and has told me he wants more freedom...some quick background info.. I have trust issues because of an ex husband, and he has issues with me not trusting him and snooping when we first moved in together and he's since then been closed off when it comes to me asking questions and "spying" he says. This last month he's been going out a lot and staying out till the next morning...now this makes me mad but I also Try to understand that he was forced into fatherhood too soon and for two years put his party side on hold for us (hes 24 now)..being military and overseas this whole time he never did go out much and now we are about to leave and I'm thinking he's wanting to just let loose and do what he missed out on. But it doesn't mean it doesn't piss me off because not only is he going out with a bunch of young single horny guys and girls but he's getting mad when I ask questions or ask him to be home by like 4am. Also I NEVER go out I'm always home watching our daughter. He's saying he wants more freedom and that me always asking questions pisses him off. He basically wants to do what he wants and not answer to anyone. He swears he's not cheating but he wants space to have fun. We still have lots of intimacy and he still hugs me and says love you. Is it safe to continue just assuming he's trying to get this party side out of his system? I'm just worried... |
Question: Should I get fixed behind her back? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 06:36 AM PDT Basically I used to be married, purposely decided to have a baby and we did, then got a divorce. A year later got a gf, she was very young and we got married. 3 years of long, great sex last weekend she said to "finish in her" She never wanted to get on the pill like my ex was before and then after the baby so I did the pull out and that was our method. But now she's talking about having a baby which she's never had one but I have and I don't know if I want another one but now she's mad at me. I was hoping to have pull out puppy night tonight but she's still mad at me. What should I do? |

Question: Is the man in the right or wrong? Posted: 21 Jun 2016 06:23 AM PDT I have two good friends who happen to be married. "Tom" had never had sex before meeting his wife, "Samantha". Samantha, on the other hand, had sex prior to Tom. 5 years into the relationship and Tom is now curious about other women. Not keeping it a secret, he tells Samantha about his feelings. Other than using it as dirty talk during sex, Samantha doesn t think anything of it. Yet for Tom, it s always on his mind. Is Tom in the wrong for wondering and wanting? Thanks in advance for any useful advice! |
