Question: Is 6 months good to engage? Posted: 12 Jun 2016 08:38 PM PDT Bf and I are about to engage soon.. Late 20s with me early 40s with him.. Anywhere from the next 2-3 months Yes I will be engaged in the next 2-3 months lol. As for wedding we haven't got that far yet. Assuming next year to a half .. Possibly even 2 years. No rushing here with marriage if that helps. |
Question: Is getting married on Easter weekend really that bad of an idea? Posted: 12 Jun 2016 07:30 PM PDT We're looking at April 4, 2015, which is the day before Easter next year. We had picked the date out because it works great for us, but then we realized that Easter is the next day. Most of our family are not religious, but some might go to church that Sunday. There's only 3 people coming from out of state. Our venue isn't any more expensive that weekend than others... I don't know, is it really that bad? Or would you suggest just sucking it up and picking a different day? |
Question: Would it be silly to wear a wedding dress to a courthouse wedding? Posted: 12 Jun 2016 07:07 PM PDT I know its a free world but really would it be silly looking to wear a wedding dress? I never wanted a fancy wedding but I have seen this dress and its cute. Its floor length but not with a train. It's not a ball gown or puffy, it's lacy A-line, a little flowy. Would it look silly, should I stick with a knee or tea length dress? |

Question: Did I finally find the right veil for my wedding dress? Posted: 12 Jun 2016 11:39 AM PDT Alright, so I initially wanted to know what you thought of this veil and dress combo two days ago, everyone on here stated it was hideous so I decided to go to David's Bridal yesterday and get a stylist to help me select a better suiting one, again, everyone said it was hideous. I need to exchange (not return cause they don't do returns) my initial veil, for something suitable. This will be my last question pertaining to this subject. The last link is a photo of a short hair piece like-veil. I would like to know if THAT would (finally) match the dress. The two first photos are my initial veil, and second veil (failures). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/quacka/Mobile%20Uploads/raw-2_zps0hds8k9k.jpeg http://tinypic.com/r/33wmyid/9 http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_vintage-hat-with-attached-flowers-and-blusher-vh7950_veils |
Question: Fiancé doesn't want to invite his mom to our wedding? Posted: 12 Jun 2016 02:37 AM PDT My fiancé and I are getting married later this year. He's the 3rd out of 6 to get married. He and his mom had a pretty decent relationship until he started getting serious with me. Then she turned up to his brothers wedding dressed head to toe in black (including a black veil hair piece) and frowned, even fake cried in photos. If you didn't know it was a wedding, you would have assumed it was a funeral. She behaved totally different than she did at his sisters, her daughters, wedding. She was smiling and happy and friendly. Her behavior at his brothers wedding ruined their relationship completely. He also said she's been dropping hints to some of his siblings who are cordial with her, that she plans to dress and behave the same way at our wedding. He doesn't want this. Not only because he doesn't want people to see it, but he has been very angry about it. She's told him (and his brother when he confronted her about his wedding) that she can dress and behave how she likes and she prefers to dress to suit the occasion and black suits their weddings. Fiancé's parents aren't paying. But he still wants opinions. His dad will come either way since the marriage isn't strong and would end in divorce if FIL wasn't wheelchair bound and very Christian, so doesn't believe in separation/divorce. Fiancé is also prepared to not invite extended maternal family because he knows most, if not all, will side with her because she's the Good Christian Woman. Opinions? He wants opinions. The only reason I'm asking is because I have an account. :) |

Question: Which finger is the engagement finger in UK and is there a difference in Hong Kong? Posted: 10 Jun 2016 03:04 AM PDT My friend has recently got engaged and is so confused as to which finger she is supposed to wear the ring on. She is British but her fiance is Chinese so there maybe a difference in culture. Is it the ring finger or middle finger of your left hand? or is it the ring finger of your right hand? I always thought it was on the same finger as your wedding band but there's too much difference of opinion online, so i'm truly confused! Plus, I heard that each finger represents the different processes of the relationship; courting (thumb), dating (index), engaged (middle) and marriage (ring). So which one is correct? Thanks in advance! |
Question: Do women ever wear non-wedding rings on left ring finger? Posted: 10 Jun 2016 02:50 AM PDT Is it common at all for women to wear a ring on their left ring finger and not be married? Thanks |

Question: What is the purpose of a courthouse? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 08:01 PM PDT Hi! I'm doing a courthouse project for school. This is my mom's email. I don't have yahoo email. Thank you for answering. |
Question: Was same-sex marriage legalized to create more business for the fading wedding industry? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 06:34 PM PDT weddings have traditionally supported a multi-million dollar industry in the u.s. halls, caterers, bakeries, dress shops, tux rentals, photographers, printers, gift shops, not to mention store registries, have all depended on a constant supply of couples getting married to stay in business. but with the recent trend of straight couples opting out of marriage, did the government need to legalize same-sex marriage to make up for lost business to save the wedding industry? |
Question: Ideas on how to ask her to be my maid of honor!? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 03:58 PM PDT Okay so here's the deal: I have 4 girls I want to ask to be in my wedding. For the bridesmaids, they all live 2 hours away, so I plan on just sending them cards in the mail that say "Will you be my bridesmaid?" But for my maid of honor I wanted to do something special since she is also my roommate. She's a Starbucks head so I had planned on picking her up coffee one day and instead of writing her name on the cup, I was going to get them to write "Will you be my maid of honor" on it. BUT, she just told me this morning that her sister was asked to be a maid of honor in a very similar Starbucks way. So I don't think I can do that now. So I thought about putting it in the mailbox disguised as a bill. Or I could have rose petals outside of her bedroom door, leading up to the note. Opinions? Other ideas? Something along the simple but cute lines that cost under $5. Thanks! |
Question: Not even engaged yet and bf's parents are controlling my wedding? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 11:27 AM PDT My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 years. His parents are very controlling. Everything has to be done their way. They go out of their way to make what they want happen. Nothing is ever good enough if it's someone else's. If you have something then they have to get the next step up. For instance, for my birthday my mother bought be a gazebo style walk in plastic green house. When I showed my boyfriend's mom instead of saying "oh yeah that's nice" etc. Instead she says "Oh yeah John (bf's dad) is going to make mine with all nice glass windows and it's going to have shelves built in and be a little bigger than this" My BF is 27 years old and works in law enforcement. His dad tries to control him like he's 15. It's hard to explain how they are. I can't even put it into words. Its almost sickening. My whole family sees it. Anyways, today his mom says to my mom "so the kids are getting married next summer. I need to order the tent, the flowers, have to get her a dress, I already know a caterer, I have to get his sisters airplane tickets booked and let them know etc. I know I should be thankful but I think I should at least KNOW if IM getting married! They already have it planned out! When it's going to be and how it's going to be!! I honestly just want to elope at the courthouse if I'm going to get married and go on a nice honeymoon. I told my BF how I feel and he says "what am I supposed to do?" What do I do? Hell Im not even engaged yet! Help! |
Question: Is it necessary to have a wedding? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 11:06 AM PDT or even get married? Will living together instead make any difference? |
Question: A wedding dilemna, please advise? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 10:27 AM PDT My Dad's nephew and my mother's niece are getting married the same day. I would rather go to my Dad's nephews wedding as growing up since my parents were divorced I didn't get to see my Dad's side of the family as often so I enjoy seeing them now as an adult. My mother and her mother are shocked that I would dare pick my Dad's relative over theirs and my mother's niece is the first female wedding in the family so it is like the wedding of the century to everyone. I am 31 so I pick the one in my Dad's family but how do I explain this to my mother and my maternal grandmother to avoid getting constant grief from them? The weddings are in September. I should add I was asked first to my mother's niece's wedding but I would much rather do the one in my Dad's family and missing it would bring up old bad memories of having to miss stuff as a kid due to my parents divorce. |
Question: My in laws offered to pay for our honeymoon or give us the cash, torn on what to do!? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 09:56 AM PDT We are a 27 yr old couple who haven't had much alone time and are planning on baby #2 ASAP. |
Question: I need ideas for a wedding hashtag? Posted: 09 Jun 2016 08:41 AM PDT I'm getting married in November, now the wedding will be in Mexico therefore I would like a Spanish Hashtag... I love my friends hashtag for her wedding "porsiempreperea" I obviously cannot steal hers though😫. My last name would now be Garcia. |
Posted: 09 Jun 2016 06:47 AM PDT My boyfriend and I want to get married now, by the Justice of the Peace. I am 6 months pregnant. But after I have the baby and lose baby weight etc. we would love to have our wedding before God. I know some may see it crazy to want that considering we are having our baby before marriage, but thats what we want. I have always dreamed of bridesmaids and groomsmen etc., nothing expensive but something we can celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. I am scared if I get married now that it will cause me to lose the feeling I should have when walking down the aisle. OR does that feeling still happen? Has anyone gotten married by the Justice of the Peace and then had a "Real" Wedding afterwards? How did you feel about your decision? We both love each other unconditionally and have always said even before our pregnancy that we would get married in a heart beat, but ofcourse our financial situation had us seeing that in our future nothing soon and then we discovered we were pregnant. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks |
