Bear with me, I have a lot to say. I am currently 13 years old going into 8th grade My brother is 11 and going into 6th (middle school) So, my brother is not handsome (I'm sorry I know I sound really mean but it's true) but somehow he is full of friends. He acts very nice in a fake way around them. He bugs me and makes fun of the fact that I have only a small group of friends that I really enjoy, though more friends would be nice. He doesn't deserve his friends. I'm really low on self esteem right now. I don't feel pretty. I don't get many compliments saying I'm pretty. I'm going through anxiety/depression. I have to see a counselor once every two or three weeks. If you think I should tell my parents, that's where you're wrong. He's eleven and my mom still treats him like a baby. He enjoys kissing my parents and sitting on my mom's lap. Whenever I complain about him, my parents ignore me because he's a devil hiding in an angel's suit. There has been many more incidents that have happened, but that would be too long of a list. (Taking my food, purposefully crying like a baby, etc.) I'm just worried about him that he will never grow up, get married, have kids. I think people might respect him less if he keeps acting like this. I just don't know what to do! My brother is so loved for talent he doesn't even have, and when I work my butt off, and do a good job, I don't even get recognised.

I am a step mother of a 4 year old. My husband and I have had multiple issues with his ex which is most likely going to happen once another woman is in the picture. Now, for about 1 year now, my step son has shown so much resentment towards me and only me, in which I have tried very hard to put an end to. When he is here at our home, he tells me things like "mommy doesn t like you" "you re bad" "i hate you" and now apparently his mother is telling us that he is saying that i punch him in the face, i kick him out of the bedroom when his father leaves for work. Im getting my daughter back after 3 years of being separated from her due to her father (he set me up and i was forced to leave). She is temporary staying with my mom but we're discovering a lot of behavioral issues that got us worried. Her father basically taught her nothing. she's having trouble with her numbers and letters, she's hitting,spitting, bitting and kissing on other kids. she also has a little attitude every now and then but i kinda expect that. My mom and i feel that she picked up a lot of behaviors from the male roommates her father had. we also discovered that she was never around any kids her age and mainly around adults so she tend to rough house and nearly hurt my younger siblings. when i confronted her father about what we discovered he acted all surprised and gave me bunch of bullshit excuses. he's not taking any responsibility of what he's exposed our daughter to. So my question is what are the best ways to break my daughter out of these habits and help her have good behavior. she actually a very sweet girl but she doesn't understand that what she learned from dad and his friends is wrong. i plan to get her into some fun activities cause she's very active but i dont want her to be kicked out of everything because of her behavior. and no im not planing on spanking her because it doesn't work, it makes the situation worse. i look forward to your advice, thank you!

Bassically my dad use to hit me and my sister over stupid things messy room etc.... He will punch me grab me by my hair throw me up stairs. One time it was so bad I came to school crying and I told a teacher and social services and police got involved but nothing was done with it after one day. Hello, I am a 14 year old male, today was the first day of summer school at my new high school. I only had to take one class. (Health class) right when I walk into the classroom I hear a group of guys sitting in the back laughing and pointing at me saying racist comments. (They are all mexicans, im white) I am like the only white person at that school. I had to stay in that classroom for 4 hours and hear racist, homophobic comments. I was alone the whole day. I had to give up my seat to some bully. My parents are making me do this. They want me to take summer school, I dont want to deal with this until July 13th. Whos right me or my parents? Dont you think they should let me stop going since these people are bullying me?

This might sound really stupid but I'm really stressed out and confused over it. My mom woke me up at 9 in the morning and started screaming at the top of her lungs at me. I was more than half asleep so I said "what?!" and she just got really pissed and started screaming something else that I could barley understand. So when I wake five minutes later and go out into the kitchen to get some breakfast. She starts in on it again and is yelling at me stating that I cant eat any food all day. I asked why and she said its because I ate one of my brothers little microwave meals! I had no idea they where his meals. There was no name written on them and he had never even mentioned that they were his and they have been in the freezer for more than a month now...so I ate it for lunch. But today after the incident at 9 my mom wont talk to me and when she does she screams! just cuz I ate some **** from the freezer the other day. God I cant wait to move out but I'm only 16. And not to mention that my mom acts like this a lot. but never this bad. I though maybe she is on her period but she really acts like this all the time. Its just today she is obnoxiously bad. I don't know what to do! She wont talk to me unless its through screaming.

i need $400 at the end of summer for my back to school supplies, clothes, etc. last year, i did little chores (all i did was wash dishes and do laundry) and i got $10 a week. i spoke with my dad and asked him if i can get $30 a week, to get around $400 and he said "you would have to do way more chores than you do usually" and i said ok. so every sunday he gives puts a list of stuff to do on the fridge and i do them like either clean your brothers bathroom or fold the laundry, etc. i ended up getting $70 dollars but the thing is, its been like 2 months(started at the beginning of may) already and i have gotten like $10 a week. I have 8 weeks (since i need one week before school starts to buy everything i need). so how would this work out? **sidenote: i sound stubborn, sorry**

I work at a convenience store. I have this goofy little prank I like to play at work. Whenever someone asks for directions, I always send them to the bad part of town, haha. I feel kinda bad, because he wouldn't have been down there if it wasn't for me. Plus the news story was talking about how the guys wife died a few months ago and he's a single Dad. I was thinking about going to the funeral and giving his kid $25. I am 31 and fear conflict with my mother if I displease her. For example, I am picking my Dad's family over hers for a family event in September where both family events fall at the same time. My mother is furious and I am dreading the conflict. Another example is at holidays when I do both families instead of just her (she wants me to only see her and her family Christmas Day and see my Dad later). These conflicts hurt me because they cause me anxiety. How do I learn to get over this fear and just say "too bad, grow up" if she is mad?

I am fourteen and I have a little sister whom is eleven.. lets call her Julia. She is the most annoying person on the planet! she steals all of my things. An example: Yesterday I was studying in my room and she barges into my room and demands I let her use my iPod. (I was listening to music at the time) I said that as soon as I was finished she could. She shrieks that I suck and takes my phone instead and locks herself in her room. Its like that all the time! I have a macbook air that I saved up for for ages and she takes that all the time. My parents have the philosophy that we have to save up for everything ourselves or earn the money. Because its so slim its easy to hide and I need it for school! My phone is also taken constantly. The last electronic I have is an iPod nano, which is also very easy to hide she takes that as well. There are time that she has taken all three at once. My parents buy her whatever she wants no question but she has to have the things that I earned. She takes my clothes, tops jeans shoes. She hasn't gotten her period yet but she steals my TAMPONS. And either hides them or throws them away. I don't have a lot of makeup but she takes that the most. I am very happy to lend things to her and I do all the time but she takes everything and HIDES it. I have a bed a desk with no drawers and a closet. I can't lock anything away and she has even found my diary. I had written very private stuff there. I don't care about the other stuff but its my diary that was the final straw. My parents don't care or do anything but if I take something of hers she freaks out and cries and I get grounded by my parents! I am Just so SICK of this. Help? and suggestions on what I can do?

I'm 17 years old and just graduated high school. During my freshmen year in high school, I got involved with some bad things, such as hooking up with guys. My parents were enraged and they took away every electronic device I had, and I didn't get it back until my junior year. They also took off a lock from my door so that I could never lock it. Hi, my family has sort of been struggling financially over the years, and as I ve been growing up I ve been wanting things that aren t necessarily essential or "on trend." I don t want to pester my parents about it, so I want to find my own income. I ve been wanting to start a YouTube channel for a while now, but it just occured to me; who would want to listen to a twelve year old rant? (But you re doing it now, right?) It would get no views, I d probably get hate comments, and if anyone from school stumbled across my channel, I d be embarrassed to death. I'm 15 and I have no social life because I'm always babysitting, I have an older brother who helps but I'm always getting in trouble because he feels stressed and everyone gets upset that i want to hang with friends, not to mention that he's moving out next year so soon my only help so i can enjoy life a bit will be gone, he's not even staying in the state. Here's the thing I graduated from high school May 19 and my dads family didn't send me jack ****! They didn't come to my graduation. They didn't even call to say anything! My older sister is the hugest brat when it comes to this. She literally NEVER puts her clothes in the laundry basket and she is already 16! The basket is right outside the bathroom too, but instead she always dumps her clothes on the floor. We have maids that do our laundry for us, so all she needs to do is put her clothes in the basket, which she refuses to do. When I tell her to, she says, "Well, the maids will put the clothes in the basket for me later anyway, so what's the point? We have maids for a reason." Sure they will do it for her if she doesn't, but if possible she should help lighten the workload, right? I don't know what to do, my mom never cares enough to scold her and she barely ever listens to me because I'n younger. This situation is annoying the heck out of me.

I have met my cousins. Oldest one is 13, middle is 7, and youngest was less than 5. I have seen what they look like, but on face book, the pictures of his "children" did not look like his children AT ALL! His children are considered ugly. The middle was 7 years old (we were invited to her birthday), but on Facebook he said that she was 9. She had curly long hair (I SAW with my own eyes), but on is face book the girl had short straight hair and did not resemble his real daughter AT ALL! Same for his youngest child! The face is not the same!

Im losing weight so I cant cook or bale anything. I just have nothing to do. And I cant even cry because my dad is home all the time. What do I do?

I am the oldest of 6 kids and I am the only one that drives out of my siblings. I am always there to take action whenever a emergency happens in our family or if someone is in a jam. But for my sister who is 23 yrs old and the 2nd oldest, to not want to drive because she says she is too nervous, that excuse to me is getting really old although; I understand these things take time but, I am getting to the point where i have had some minor nervous breakdowns and i dont think they understand how much stress is put on me from being the only doing everything. Like for instance, our mom has been in the hopsital the last two weeks. First week she had a minor stroke and i was there. Then i even picked her up from the hospital the next day when they released her. Yesterday she had a catheter ablation surgery and I was there. And, today I will be the one following up with her and the doctors on her recovery and everything. All I'm trying to say from all of this is it would just be nice if I got some assistance and hear them say for once " like Megan you do a lot or since you we're there last time , this time let us be there instead", or something. If I was an only child things would be alot easier but they aren't. And I just feel like I'm alone inside.

She and her sister are at odds so I am being instructed not to see her sister or her sister's kids. I like her sister (my aunt) and her kids (my cousins). I try not to tell my mother when I see them as I live on my own but she always finds out through my grandmother who is neutral in the sisters dispute. My grandmother says it very innocently in terms of just "oh we saw your son today".

I was hyperactive through ADHD and this was 20 years ago but my uncle would always say, just pop him on the buttom or he won't learn. The uncle smacked his 3 kids sometimes though one is now drug addicted (not sure if there is a connection). So is it good to smack a kid or is this child abuse? My mother did not but I was eleven before I grew out of randomly running around making nonsense noises.

My daughter is almost 3 and she always cries and whines when she doesn't get what she wants. When she immediately gets it, she stops crying and sometimes laugh it off like nothing happened. I want to teach her that she can't always get what she want especially at that moment. My aunt, mom, and dad always watches her when I am busy. I feel like they are always treating her like a princess by buying her her favorite food especially my aunt. They give it to her all the time and even when it reaches her limit for the day, they still give it to her just because she cries and whines. They also always let her us the iPad or phone to watch YouTube which is really bad for her eyes. I don't want her to use glasses at a young age. When I'm at home and she see's me using the iPad, she will come up to me and say she wants to watch her favorite cartoon and whines when she doesn't get to. I told my aunt, mom and dad not to treat her like a princess all the time because she needs to learn and it's for her own good, but I don't think they seem to listen. When I'm around it is so much better because they know I don't like it. Because this happened, it made me think why they cry and whine. How can I teach her not to cry and whine so much?

When I was a baby my father's family didnt come see me at all. My dad and mom broke up and he hasnt saw me since! Now years later his new daughter contacts me on fb and the rest of his family (aunts, cousins, brothers, uncles etc) wanting to meet me and have some type of "relationship" with me and im not having it! They could have done that years ago! Should I or should I not give them a try? I just wanna know why NOW and not back then!???

While it's true that I haven't had too much company over the last couple of years, I've been getting lots of signs that I probably shouldn't anyway. After a certain age it felt as though I was probably never going to get along with people. My parents have given me signs time and time again that maybe I'm not cut out for that. I have a difficult enough time with my parents anyway. This year in particular has just been a basket for bad memories. My mother has had a dispute with me every other day. My father doesn't do it as much, but when he does, he really brings you down. The constant fights with my mother have been mainly because of the depressing days that I've had. This year has been quite a battle. It's pretty obvious that the world today isn't really that much fun, and I'm still doing all kinds of exercises to try and treat negative thinking. I still kind of avoid my parents whenever I can because my mother has been really nasty this year. My father has always been like that. Particularly over the last couple of years I've been brought down by things around me. Should I have a filter when it comes to people?

After my parents my mom and I went to live with her mother and brother (he hates animals), so Chip remained with my father. I went to spend time with him whenever I could on weekends and hollidays because I missed him baddly and my father worked for most of the day and Chip was all alone. About two years ago my father developed an alergy so I took Chip to my fathers' parents place and stayed with him. My grandmother never said a word, but she also never showed consent. Since then I would take Chip for a walk every day making little changes necessary only due to the weaknes of his heart. Despite that Chip had a well appetite and was always eager to go outside. I even managed to convince my mom to take Chip to the garden we have outside the city and Chip was most happy there. He was no more alone for long since I work at home. On december I fell seriously ill and had dangerously high temperature. My mom took me and Chip and we stayed there because my fathers mother did not want Chip back. Just before New Year Chip developed Osteoporosis and it became more and more difficult for him to walk. After proper treatment Chip recovered a bit but not fully. We went for a walk each day he ate well. Before going away I asked my father to look after him for those two days (he changed his work and spends more time at home). On our way home we received a message that Chip passed in his sleep in bed next to my father with no signs of dying. I will never forgive myself for going away. :'( :'( * After my parents divorced... Is it my fault?
