Today I got into an argument with my sister because about the measurement of a tv. She thought that the tv we bought for my dad was 40 inches in length but I argued that that's the size diagonally. So, she called me stupid and I called her stupid back and my mom slapped my forehead and not my sister's. I should have slapped my sister back. I'm younger than her btw.

I m 15 and I have 2 older sisters in college. My mom doesn t want me to watch any tv shows that have any reference to sex in them ever. Does she not realize that I m in high school and have heard all of this before? Making it even worse, Ive watched shows like that since I was like 8 because I would watch whatever my sisters did. She didn t care when I watched them then, but now that my sisters are gone she s all protective. When they were my age she didn t care what they watched, so why me now? I don t think she realizes that she s treating me so differently, but I m scared to say so without her getting upset at me. I mentioned to her that all of the shows I want to watch are rated TV-14, and I m 15, but she said that didn t make it ok. She wouldn t even let me watch How I Met Your Mother even though it s only rated PG. How am I supposed to watch anything with these impossible rules? We ve even watched shows in school that talk about or refer to sex. It s not like I m going to do whatever the people on the show do just because I m watching it. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

So me and my mum don't get along. Everytime we have to talk for more than 2minutes it turns into an argument. My mum has never been very supportive of me and I think she's embarrassed that I'm her daughter now which hurts. I a vegetarian which she doesn't respect because she thinks I should be eating meat even though I don't think it's right. I am an emo which she despises. I constantly listen to music because I don't want to argue with her and it's my escape which she also hates. I also spend most of my time in my room again because I don't want to talk to her. She always makes comments on my appearance and I am a very insecure person. When I talk to her I have to defend myself so it becomes an argument and it always ends with me crying in my room because she doesn't accept me. Help.

I was adopted as a child but have contact with some biological relatives. Yrs ago, I spoke to my birth mom's brother who lives across the country. He is on my FB, as are several biological relatives and the last time I heard from him was when he commented on a post I made 2 or 3 yrs ago. He never gets on FB. I tried to email him @ his work email he gave me years ago and didnt get a response- but did notice he no longer works there (on FB). Should I text him to see how things are? OR should I just let him alone? Whenever his uncle (my great uncle) sees me- he asks me if I have spoken to this person.

Sorry for long story. My father keep treat me like a child even though Im 27, so technically Im adult and should handle most of situations without him getting involved. I was diagnosed late with asperger syndrome (autism spectrum) and due a trauma in the past, I still live with my parents, plus where I live, finding an apartment is very difficult right now so its NOT because I live with my parents, Im treated like a child, okay? Im bit phone-phobic and has agoraphobia so the social life is a bit difficult sometimes, thats it, but other than occasional helps, I dont really depend on them. Anyways, it feels like he NEED to get involved with every grown up stuff, like who I date, when meeting strangers in the city from facebook, like he believe I cannot deal with these stuff myself. It feels like he believe Im "stupid" to know whats the danger is when meeting people from online and try to convince me the female strangers (its a buy-a-sale trade trhough facebook), are perverted old rapists, so I must meet them while my dad is watching. What the hell? Im 27 for heaven sake, not 17? I KNOW parents care about the children even when they grown up, but Im a-sexual (I reject ALL mens "suggestions") and its females through facebook Im going trade clothes with during lunch time. Not a spooky street at night. I dont trust them, but a dad believing they all will rape me is a bit extreme isnt? Btw, Im from Sweden. English is NOT my mother language.

This is really distressing and horrible for me, never in a million years would I thought I'd ever be in this situation. Basically I don't know what to do, I certainly don't feel I can tell anyone that I know. I went on my boyfriends (also father to my 1 year old son) phone last night and found pictures of young girls. The ones that have stuck out to me were one of a group of 3 school girls in uniform (I'd say between the ages of 13-15), there was one of a young girl (looked around 4) she was fully clothed just sitting down, there was one where the head had been cropped from the picture, she was naked, had no pubic hair and no breasts probably aged 8-9 years old. The most disturbing one for me was one that had been taken of my cousin who is 10 years old at my sons birthday party!!! It was with her mother and he'd took it and cropped it so it was just of her. I spoke to him last night and he was admitting that he liked high school girls and admitted that he may have took the picture of my cousin and cropped it. Said he'd get help and would hate to loose his family. He's now deleted the pictures and said that he just gets carried away when watching porn. I've had a really bad day. My best friend got hit by a car while she was on her bike. She is in the hospital and they don't know if she's going to be ok. I was really sad about it when I heard and I went to be alone. My parents told me that I needed to come out of my room and talk with them in the living room. A good friend of mine ask me if her 15 year old daughter Betty could stay at my home while they were on a 4 week cruise. I said yes but I thought I might have a problem with my 18 year old son. I did not want him to have a live in girl friend and I could not be home 24/7 to watch them. I talked to my son and he told me he had a girlfriend and he was not interested in ANY 15 year old girl even if he didn't have a girlfriend. I was a little worried but it turned out I was worried for nothing. When Betty moved in, my son became VERY protective of her just like she was the little sister he never had. He gave her his old cell phone and told her to call him anytime day or night that she was in a situation where some guy was pressuring her to have sex or where there was alcohol was being served and he would come and get her. He told her he was available to help her with her homework anytime she needed him. Betty thinks having my son as a good friend is wonderful. She has found someone she can share her innermost thoughts and secrets with. Since I don't have any girls I don't know if this is this normal behavior for an 18 year old boy and a 15 year old girl? I had a complicated relationship with my dad. I was his only daughter. He didn't seem too fond of me later in life once I became an adult . But sometimes he made me feel loved so who knows. He died unexpectedly and fairly young. So he's gone now, in case you were about to tell me to ask him. Anyway at a joint family function two years before his untimely death he said that a family friends daughter was , strong emphasis, "the cutest little girl [he] had ever seen. To make it worse, my mother repeated that with even stronger emphasis on the word ever in front of other people. Even at age 27, as his only daughter I was deeply offended. I think it was thoughtless at best and conniving at worst for my other to repeat it. Am I being overly sensitive or do you agree this was a reflection of my parents true feelings for me, their only daughter?

My mom won't even let me go into my backyard to play while she's at work. I haven't been outside for five days straight and I have this thing where I get a panic attack when I'm inside for too long and I just had one. I was planning on going to the beach this weekend but realize it is also fathers day. I usually see my mom and my dad some Mother's Day and Father's day since they only live 30 minutes away. So I have a situation at the moment with my dad, I don't know how I feel about it or what to do about it if I should even do anything. My dad used to heavily smoke, however a few years ago we had a family argument and my dad agreed to stop smoking. About a year ago I found out he does still smoke, he literally started smoking infront of me, told me not to tell mum. I didn't. I started smoking weed occasionaly with some friends, once or twice every month. My dad eventually found out and took it surprisingly well and offered to smoke with me. This became a regularish thing, though recently i've decided to quit smoking weed altogether. I didn't tell him I was trying to stop smoking. However the past few weeks i've kept an eye on his papers to see if he was still buying it, it's pretty expensive for us. Every weekend I saw the papers slowly dissappearing. I asked him if he had got any weed, he said no. I could even smell it sometimes and he still denied it even when I said I could smell it. I'm seriously wondering how much money he's spending on weed, including the money he spends on cigarettes I don't think I want to know. We're struggling for money enough as it is. Recently my dads really been pissing me off, the things he says, the way he acts simply just annoys the hell out of me and i've been really, REALLY tempted to tell my mum about his smoking at least, not about the weed. Should I tell her? or would this ruin any relationship I have with my dad?

I'm going through a nasty divorce, and my wife has made false accusations against me (later were dropped). I went from seeing my kids every day to seeing them 4 days per month. It's been 7 months since my divorce, and basically, all hell has broken loose. My ex wife is my enemy right now. I explained all of this to my mother (in much greater detail than Yahoo will allow.) Yet, my mother insists on maintaining a relationship with my ex wife, as she doesn't want to be seen as being mean. We used to live 2 miles from my mother, and she was NEVER around. I talk to her maybe 3 times per year...on Holidays. We don't get along, and she never reached out to my wife during that time. Now, my mother wants to send gifts and talk on the phone with my ex wife, and has done so more than once since I filed for divorce six months ago. My ex wife has filed multiple false harassment allegations against me, and others who have innocently contacted her since our divorce on my behalf. (My father asked if she could bring him some of HIS items.) Is it wrong for me to tell my mother that she's putting my custody battle in jeopardy by contacting my ex wife? I actually threatened to never speak to her again, as I don't want people in my life who would willfully jeopardize my custody battle.

I'm 14 and I want to run away from home. Depression hit me this year and because of that my grades slipped majorly, resulting in me being grounded the whole summer. My parents told me I'm a piece of ****, I'm a disappointment, I'm disobident and disresepctful, that I deserve nothing good, and a bunch of other words. I've told my mom I've wanted to run away before, and she said that I don't have to run away and that I could just pack my things and leave the house. I want to run away for the whole summer to get some time away from my family to my friends house. I would leave a note before I leave stating that they can contact me from my phone and that I'll be staying at a friends house and I need some time away and everything. Can I get in trouble for doing this and can my friends parents get in trouble for doing this?

My mom got married when I was 12 to my stepdad. He was a really nice perosn who would do/buy me anything. As I got older (higschool), he started acting weird. He would always kiss me and hug me more and come into my room in the middle of the night. He would sometimes just stare at me for long periods of time and would touch my face sometimes. One day, I was crying and he held me tight and my face was in his crotch. Then he started kissing me everywhere and a pushed him off me and he acted like it was nothing the next day. So I have been wanting to move to my dad s house in Mississppi, but I have stayed with my mom and her boyfriend (in Louisiana) because I have so many great friends and a really good school that I want to graduate from. However, they may move the people in the certain program I m in to attend that school, to another school. I don t want to go to that new school and then I thought that it would be the perfect time to move with my dad. I brought 2 pairs of shoes for my dad for Father's day. A pair of Jordan and a pair of Puma. Apparently, my dad's wants another pair of puma which cost more and is way harder to find. My dad was not going to tell me that he didn't like the pair of puma I got him, but my sister loves drama. She told my dad that I would go return the pair of puma and get him the other pair. I did not agree to this. She just text me out of nowhere, "Go return this, he wants this". This was a gift from me, for father's day. I went to the mall like 3 times to pick it out. Now I have to spend double the money and drive to the mall again, hoping that they have the one he wants and buy that. Are they being ungrateful? You should be grateful that I even got you a gift. But instead, they think its fine to tell someone to go return it and get them what they want. I feel really unappreciated. I could do all that for them, but how can I relay the message to them, that what they are asking for is messed up? BTW, they refuse to go return it by themselves. The puma I got him was the classic, so nothing in weird color or design.

My dad had told me about a year and a half ago that he thinks my own mom is jealous of me due to the way she treats me compared to my other siblings. I am 17 years old and want to make my mom proud, yet she makes it very hard to. I have tried talking to her so many times, but she always interrupts me and screams at me. She even mocks me, my voice, and what I say like a child would. It makes no sense to me that my own mom would have bad feelings about me. For example, she acts like I'm the laziest person in the whole world because I don't have a job yet. However, I had gotten an interview a few months before and she refused to take me. She will not take me to get my license even though I took a class and am capable of driving. She acts like I'm just a piece of ****. She refuses to drive me anywhere, not even to work when I do get a job. Here is a little background on her. Her and my dad have been together ever since they were young because she had me at 16, which is a good thing, however he doesn't treat her the best. He doesn't watch his own kids and sleeps all day, and hasn't even gotten his license. He's 33 or 35 years old. She also has a problem with my boyfriend of one year (who is black). She has always acted nice but has seemed to have a problem with him. He has never disrespected her nor has he disrespected me. What do I do? What's her problem? I'm not mouthy, I'm not a brat. I have tried getting a job multiple times. I am on birth control. We don't have the most money. I am not lazy and try my best but can not get around to the places I need to by walking. His friend just looks at him like they are in a relationship and my boyfriend is treating him better than he has ever treated me. My father died 4 years ago and I loved Father's Day when he was living because he hosted a big party for the father's in his family and my mother's family (the two families would get together). Now that he has died no one has hosted that and I just have an apartment and can't. My mother's side of the family does something but my mother refuses to go (partly because her husband and her Dad have both died) and so I feel really depressed not going. However, no one in her family asks me so I don't want to party crash and I have alluded the last three years that I miss the party. My Mom's siblings are formal and so I don't want to party crash. My Dad's siblings just do stuff with their own kids as they are older. So this makes me miss my Dad and also feel really sad that I am not with my mother's family. I told my mother to tell them I might want to join in but she declined due to a weird family thing she is sensitive to. I am hosting an out door event fourth of July weekend. So how do I get over this sadness on Sunday? It will be like any other day. I don't want to impose so I'd only go to the get together if I get invited and otherwise I just have a sadness that the old days are now over. How do I survive Father's Day Sunday?

so there's this guy who i used to be close with and on a school trip i fell asleep on his shoulder in the car. my teacher took a picture just to remember it. then he started bullying me and started calling me ugly and anorexic and disgusting and so on. we then started a fight and my teacher showed my mom the camera recording from the fight after having a really serious talk at school and it involved really important stuff. today my mom saw the recording and the pictures and when she came home she told my dad what the teacher said. My mums angry at me because I 'disrespected' her. Which I didn't do. Sorry for making it longer. Plz read all of it So I was trying to say something but my mum couldn't understand because my voice is quite rough and that. Then I said nobody understands me. She thought I was shouting. Then I thought she was making fun of me so I begged forgiveness for speaking rough/not clear. I hate my family so much I m not sure I can go on much longer with them. My father was verbally, emotionally abusive all my life and has anger issues that has me and my mum treading carefully so we don t set him off. I don t consider him my dad anymore and only call him by his first name. We haven t spoken in two years. My older brother too was abusive. Verbally, emotionally, physically and used to hurt me beyond the typical brother/sister rough- housing. He is however very charming and manipulates everyone around him into thinking he s perfect. My father considers him his only child. My mum has no voice in the house. No status or respect and me and her cook and clean and clear up after the men because they do nothing and expect to be cleared up after. I was diagnosed with depression a few years ago and whenever I m around my brother or father, it gets much worse and I get suicidal because I can t imagine ever escaping them, but at the same time, I don t want to leave my mum alone with them as who knows what could happen. Whenever I used to try and talk about how I felt, they would say things like stop attention seeking , oh woe is me , no one cares . My father will never walk me down the aisle and my brother will never know his nieces or nephews but that s their problem. How can I ever live like this? I need some advice before I go truly mad.

It's not necessarily that I want to be right, it's just the frustration of constantly being told I'm wrong even though I'm telling the truth. Yesterday, some water got into my phone case and my mom had a huge freakout. I'm being COMPLETELY honest with you guys, I have NO IDEA how it got there. I just noticed it the same time my mom did. I graduated last may and started my full time job the week after my finals. I started paying down interest on student loans while in school to put me in a better financial situation for when i moved out. After moving back in with my parents for 3 months i was past the 3 month probationary period with my company and saved enough to move out with 3 months of a safety fund. Well guess what my mom pulled out. My contract i signed when I was 18 and she cosigned for my student loan. This contract included; no unsafe sex, no hard liquor, among a dozen other ridiculous restrictions. Sure these were in my best interest but this is the kicker. I would move home after graduation until i payed off my student debt (roughly 35k) Ok when I signed this i thought that wouldnt be a bad idea but I did soo much growing up in the 5 years of school and I really didnt think she would hold me to that one. Well she did and now its a year later and I payed off all my student debt (fanstastic) i spent literally almost every dollar i made all year. Aside from paying rent (to live at my parents) Now my mom is baiting me to stay at home with free rent and is telling me im too immature, i dont know what im doing financially and pulling all the string and bs that I may have done in high school against me trying to make me feel like ****. How do i deal with this? i never want to be in the house with her. I cheer when i pull in the drive way and her cars gone. I dont come home any day of the week till 10pm. So I'm 17, yet I am a solid 6ft.2 barefoot. My older brother is 19 and only like 5'7. I swear, his short man syndrome is so annoying. He always trying to compete with me and desperately trying to be better than me at everything. And he is always like,"I can easily take you down, no problem." And I'm like,"WTF? Alright, so my family and I are getting ready to adopt a dog. I have one concern but I think I'm just worrying. I know an animal should have their own little space in the house. For example, one of our cat's territory is my brother's room while our other cat has her territory in my sister's room. Yet, we have a sorta big family so the living room is mixed with my other sisters bedroom. The only other place in the house the dog can have it's own space is my parent's room but the dog will be under primary my care and I don't think my parents have enough room in there. Yet, I share a bunk bed with two of my sister's. The dog can't really stay in that room because one our cats made it it's own safe haven. I mean it can go in there but like its kennel and dog bed wouldn't stay in there. That stuff would be in the living/ bed room. Okay, here is my final question. If my dog will spend most of its time while indoors in my sister's living/bed room will it bond with her more? Like if she takes care of it while I'm asleep? I honestly don't know if this is a stupid question, I just was a little insecure about it. I think it's because I want to spend as much time with it as possible and having to worry if it's okay in the next room while sleeping, instead of being in there with it irks me. So I'm 14 know a lot of things in life that are terrible and one of those things are cigarettes... My mom has a terrible time handling her stress, she solves it by smoking. I try to explain that it's bad but she already knows! I told her to promise me that she'd quite but promises between parents never work with me. Just now we chatted and she said she isn't proud of it, I told her to stop then and instead try to paint something or do something she enjoys. I asked her what EXACTLY smoking does for her and what does it feel like, and apparently I get "IDK" So I want to give somethings that she can actually stop, she explained that when she smokes... "she can feel the wind, sit down, hear the birds". I can under stand cuz her mom-Friday's are wake up 5am; drop off me and my lil brother by 7am; deal with doctors an teachers; worries about stuff; always cleaning and cooking and etc: So yeah, she never sits down and her day is like this until she's done wich is by 6 or 7pm... So I need a way to finally force er to quite I don't care if it's a vape I want it to stop. And we been cleaning and when I was cleaning my room my mom wanted my to clean my side of the bathroom ...I told her I wasn't finished with my room bc I had just started as we all did. Then she yells for me to clean my side again. So I stop all that in doing in my room and clean the bathroom. She yells that it's not good....I mean everything was clean. I cleaned it for 2 hours. And then I cooked for my sis kids bc they were hungry and she didn't cook them anything..and I had to do my nieces hair...took care of my loan then came back to finish her hair. It was 8:30 when I was done at night. Took them home. And went to bed. I wake up to my mom telling threatening that I will live in my car if u don't clean my room....but she insisted I clean that bathroom to perfection and there were other things needing care in the day. But she said I should have done it. Mind you I am a grad student. And don't do drugs or pregnant and in the right path for life....but to her an unfinished room that I was in the process of finishing makes me a devil child and just the worst "child" alive....and yes I know I need my own place....working on it.
