Question: Boyfriend invited to wedding in another country without me? Posted: 25 Jun 2016 01:49 AM PDT My boyfriend's close friends are getting married in their home of Scotland (we live in Canada). The invitation we received was only addressed to him. I have met the couple once before, a group of us stayed in a cabin on a mountain for a long weekend, so I got a fair amount of time to get to know them. I understand their need to want to keep the numbers low and to not invite too many people as weddings can be costly and I can completely understand not inviting a friends new boyfriend or girlfriend, but my boyfriend and I have been together for nearly two years and have lived together for over one year. I also understand that this is their day and they can choose to invite or not invite whoever they want, but I think it is kind of rude to expect someone to pay for an expensive flight and accommodations, a gift, and wedding attire, and then not even allow them to bring their long term live-in partner? Am I wrong for feeling hurt and a little resentful? |
Posted: 24 Jun 2016 11:52 PM PDT I want to propose to my boyfriend, but I don't have the money to afford a nice ring. I have a ring from my brother, who committed suicide last year, but it's not necessarily an engagement ring, just a band with three lines in it. Do you think I should still use it since it has sentimental value, or save up for a nicer one? |
