Question: Nephew refuses to talk to family - What should I do? Posted: 09 May 2016 12:31 PM PDT My nephew is 27 and I am his aunt There is a family holiday for a wedding coming up and my nephew is one of the only ones not coming, a few couldn't but the majority of the family is. The wedding was planned in November and at the time my nephew says "he didn't have the money" he lost his job and I told him to use his welfare money but he refused, he looked for a job, got one and saved money but he is now too late as bookings are finished, the holiday is in August 24th and and the close of date was April 1st. He is annoyed because first the close off date was August 1st but it changed and now he feels he is going to miss out on a family holiday since this is a rare once in a life time thing, I volunteered to go on holiday with him, just me and him but he says he doesn't want people feeling sorry for him, he doesn't have any close friends and could never afford to go on holiday as a child but I think this is all his fault, if he just stayed on welfare and used that he could be going but he is too stubborn and proud and just had to use his "own" money. We live in the UK and the holiday is in Italy, the date changed because if the UK leaves the EU in June it could bump up the price and even if the UK stays it is impossible to change anything now. He is avoiding family gatherings, he never answers his phone, has blocked chat on his Facebook. Is this justified? When he lost his job he had to pack up and move back in with his parents. Keep in mind he does want to go on the holiday but he can't as all the final list of names has been sent off for the wedding, there is no room for him I told him how sorry I feel for him and I did say I will go on holiday with him next year (just me and him) to make up for missing this one and he told me no and said I am only doing it because I feel sorry for him and not because I want to genuinely spend time with him
Posted: 09 May 2016 12:10 PM PDT My friend has once again called me frantic because she's found inappropriate picture sharing and conversations between her husband and daughter. He has told her the relationship is not sexual and that the daughter feels free from judgement when communicating with him; the pictures are popular Mimi's. She's upset, I'm listening. This shyt is crazy!!!
Question: How to survive a dead end? Posted: 09 May 2016 11:48 AM PDT I'm 15 years old and I feel like I'm in a dead end. I'm a dead man freaking walking. I'm a girl though XD I feel like something is wrong with me, I'm a wacky person and no one wants to hang out with me. Even my best friends don't because they always come up with excuses when I ask them out. I don't know what is up but I guess it's been up for years. Not forever though because in kindergarten I had a best friend who I did everything with. Im literally always stressed and I feel extreme anxiety with people. I think too much. I always do things after I've considered whether cool people would do so or not. I think of other people's thoughts all the time no matter where I am. I always feel like people hate me and laugh at me for being ugly or smthn. I don't know whether I'm ugly or pretty. I feel anxiety when talking to guys because I've never had any guy friends. I wish I'd never been born because i feel like the whole world has turned out ugly. I am quite hyper when I'm with my friends but I'm very reserved with strangers. I wish I could be myself everywhere. I feel like I suck and will never have any friends who'd respect and care for me. My friends pick on me because I nearly never get mad and I would NEVER pick on anyone because I don't want anyone to go through what I've been through. All I want is for everyone to be happy but often I forget myself. Lately I've been stressing so much that I've lost lots of sleep and I feel like I'm about to faint all the time.Help me out! :(
Question: How to talk to your boss about going part time after maternity leave...? Posted: 09 May 2016 10:50 AM PDT I m a nurse. I work for a dermatology office. I work full time now (5 days). My husband will be working full time but for child care reasons we need me to go part time which would be 3 days a week. How do I go about bringing this up? I see nothing in our HR handbook about the topic. I m only 13 weeks now so I have a little while to think on this. Due date is mid nov. when do I need to bring it up to my manager?

Question: What do I think about the person who made me feel all three of these? Posted: 09 May 2016 09:39 AM PDT I had this one lady I looked up to as a mom but she didn't feel the same way at all and after two years of thinking we were friends she devastated me and told me we weren't and we would have to have no contact I try to remember the good times we had together but I feel like it was all fake because I thought one thing and she thought it was another thing This lady has just had a big impact on me and it's hard to MoveOn I just hope she thinks good of me
Question: Why would a guy do this? Posted: 09 May 2016 09:12 AM PDT A guy who's a complete lowlife decided to email the husband of a woman with whom he's been recently screwing. (Obviously, this moron has a death wish to do this!) In the email, this poor example of a man explicitly detailed how he engaged in various intimate acts with his wife. Many of those acts were things that she refused to do with her husband. However, the most horrific revelation was the fact that he "bragged" about convincing her to abort her unborn child with her husband. Why would someone do this? Has our society stooped to such a low level ? Your opinions?
Question: Don t want to go t a wedding where my boyfriend is the groomsmen? Posted: 09 May 2016 09:08 AM PDT So, my boyfriend of 3 years is a groomsmen at his college buddies wedding. I don't want to go because, 1.) last year, we met up with them on a trip to our college town and they weren't exactly very nice. 2.) My boyfriend is weird in social situations. He is very uncomfortable with any form of PDA...even holding hands. So, I would feel awkward around other couples who are...normal.. : 3.) During the trip to our college town, my BF and I got into a bit of an altercation and his friends (including the groom) saw us upset (not the fight, just that he stormed away, we were in a loud bar). That was embarrassing 4.) I asked my BF to tell them nothing about it, but at a social gathering a couple of months ago he told them I was mad, furthering my embarrassment... So really, I just dont want to go because I dont want to be around people I dont know that well, and considering that embaressing situation and the fact that they KNOW about what happened upsets me. It upsets me that my boyfriend disrespected me and told them. He really wants me to go, but I am too embarrassed and upset over the fact that he told them.
Posted: 09 May 2016 08:58 AM PDT I'm literally like a zombie where I live, deviant attitudes run rampant, People seems to have the audacity to do something extremely cold towards you over the principle of you just being different than a group, or not popular. I go into work and leave like a zombie and have literally morphed into a hermit out here. What should I honestly do?
Question: Aunts husband asking inappropriate questions. HELP!? Posted: 09 May 2016 07:40 AM PDT ok so i need some advice on what i should do about my aunts creepy husband, john. ok so i bit of background. a few weeks ago i spotted john looking in my window while i was getting ready. the moment that he realised i saw, he turned away. this was a little off putting but i didnt think much of it at the time. however a conversation he had with me earlier today did. i was in his car on my way home from college (note i normally do not get lifts with him) and he begins to ask me very inappropriate questions about my relationship history, things of a sexual natural that i have done before, you get the idea. i was totally weirded out by this and refused to give him certain information. it was just too weird. he acted as if it was all a joke to him and he often asked people these questions but yeah i don't think so. he discovered certain things about me that he said were a turn on for him. i was so freaked i barely managed a little hearted response. i tried to appear as though this didnt phase me but ugh thats information i didnt need to know. anyways do you guys think i should be worried? and if so what should i do about this? just to add he lives next door to me so avoiding him isn't really a solution. also I'm a broke student so moving isn't an option either. i have told all the people in my family i everyone just says 'oh john is like that, he's only joking' OK so according to my family asking things like that is totally fine. how do i make them understand that its not ok to ask certain questions?

Question: In panic mode, can't think straight. Need advice.? Posted: 09 May 2016 06:56 AM PDT Something happened in my family that is going to leave me stranded within the next 2 weeks. I only have $196 in my bank account. I am 18, unemployed, and will be enrolled in college this summer. I have no one to live with; most of my family lives outside of the USA. When I say I'm going to be stranded, I am not joking: I will be alone with the clothes on my back and a cell phone, and no where to sleep, no where to shower, no where to get food or water. I don't have any previous work experience, but I obviously need a job. I am truly stressed and panicking right now. I have never been more lost, scared, or confused. I can't even begin to form a plan because I just can't even think straight. If you were in this situation, what steps would you take? Thanks for the advice so far. I see a lot of useful information. @Andy C, maybe I should've been more clear: I'm not going to be stranded FOR two weeks, I'll be stranded for an indefinite amount of time two weeks from today.
Question: How best to handle an increasingly ornery elderly neighbor? Posted: 09 May 2016 04:31 AM PDT I have a neighbor who will be turning seventy-six this year. She often relies on me for help with "technical support". Like she'll call upon me when her computer isn't working, or for hooking up new appliances, and most often for issues with getting her TV on the right input to pick up her DVD player and cable box. I don't mind helping, but it's been hard to ignore how her attitude towards me has shifted over the past couple years. She's increasingly running into the same sorts of problems more often, and has seemingly decided to throw her frustrations at me. I've tried to calm her by guiding her through the process of resolving what's going on. I've even given her easy to follow, written instructions. These only seem to upset her more. The other day she called me while I was at work, upset over her tv not working. I told her she could fix it by reading my instructions for getting the tv on the right HDMI, but she started screaming about how "useless" I was before slamming down the phone. I'm not in the least upset with her because I couldn't begin to imagine what she's going through. I could barely imagine how frustrating it must be to have simple tasks become all but impossible. So how can I calm her in a respectful way when she begins acting like this?

Question: Does this married man like me? Posted: 09 May 2016 02:05 AM PDT If so why is he so lukewarm cold me? So about a month ago I met a guy on reddit. We have been discussing about various topics and he really impressed me with his education, humor and intelligence from the beginning. What I liked most about him though is his sarcasm and cynicism. He seems to tell lies so easily, is so well spoken and yeah I really like this kinda pirate but gentle type of personality. He told me he was married from the start but sth about his way of writing screams adventure so it doesn't bother me. We were talking about meeting but unfortunately our time schedules aren't compatible so we haven't met yet. The problem is that for the last 10 days he has been kinda cold. He messages me on reddit only twice a day and uses only small phrases. I'm starting to thinking that he's bored... When I asked him if he's still interested he said yes but he's just busy right now and needs to focus on studying for a professional regulation. What's your opinion? I like him but can't wait him any longer.
Question: I Shaved My Baby's Head :(? Posted: 09 May 2016 12:42 AM PDT I understand that this may trigger feelings of shock and disgust within some people, but I'm hoping someone will understand and possibly give me some advice! My baby girl, Saphia is one month and she is the most beautiful little angel ever! She is mixed race (I'm Indian and my partner is white) and was born with a lovely head of thick, semi-curly hair. Ever since she had been born my family started pressurising me CONSTANTLY to shave her head. This is due to cultural and religious reasons; we are a Muslim family and the fact that they believe in an old wives tale which claims that shaving a baby's head will help it grow back faster. Saphia's dad, Alex wasn't too keen on the idea as he had never really heard of this kind of a custom before. I initially put it off for as long as possible, as I didn't quite feel brave enough to rid my daughter of her beautiful hair as well... But my family would not stop nagging! It got to a point where they would come and visit me where we live (we live in a different city) and try to persuade me to get Saphia's hair chopped off. Yesterday I foolishly gave in, thinking it would get them off my back and my baby's hair would grow back eventually... I wish I hadn't now, every time I look at her I feel so guilty and upset. I wish I had more of a back bone! Saphia was delivered with the help of a ventouse, her head is a slightly funny shape which really doesn't help matters. I'm keeping a hat on her head all of the time now, I've read a few articles online that have now really worried me. Have I stunted the growth rate of my baby's hair? Will it grow back eventually? I almost feel like a bad mum and am so annoyed at my family for getting involved. My partner's parents live very close to us and I am sure they will be visiting Saphia in the next few days. They are already slightly intolerant of my cultural roots (his Mum, especially) and I have a feeling they are going to be furious when they see my baby's head. I know I shouldn't be worrying about what other people think and just get on with things myself. But I'm 22 and this is my first baby, all of the varied advice is really confusing me... And now I just want my baby's hair back :(

Question: Do men go through "cycles" like women? Posted: 08 May 2016 10:44 PM PDT For some reason, I have an immense urge to have sex with a girl. I am 19, so I have felt something similar in the past. It's never come on like this before though. I am a nice person, and I would not just go have sex with a random girl. I want to date someone, and then feel like we will be with each other forever before I even think about doing it. For some reason though, I have a strong urge to have sex. Yes, I do... err... masturbate, but it does not seem to get rid of the urge completely. Is this normal?
Question: Poll: How can I get away with sneaking out of the house? Posted: 08 May 2016 10:29 PM PDT I still live with my parents for now and really want to sneak out at 1AM to have sex with guys I met online. My parents are strict and say that if they catch me sneaking out to meet people for sex, they'll kick me out and I will have nowhere to go... What can I do so I won't get caught doing that? Don't say not sneaking out.

Question: My stepdad is over protective? Posted: 08 May 2016 09:09 PM PDT I am 13 yr old and I think my step dad is over protective. This happens on many occasions but this was one of the first times, we went on a vacation to Mississippi (I live in Louisiana) and i went in the hotels swimming pool with my sister. While i was in the pool, him and my mom made me unlock my phone, disable my password, and they would go through all of my messages, and general personal information. After this, against their permission, i would put a password back on for safety and my privacy. He would then yell at me for something I said that he shouldn't even be looking at, like a specific friends instagram post, on a specific comment of me saying an acronym that has a swear in it. I then had to argue it meant the kid friendly version like freak or crap. He then dismissed me and i just left pretty pissed. The next part isnt really that overprotective but is really aggravatin
Question: Why is it good to be very expressive and think everything about your lover is amazing? Posted: 08 May 2016 08:05 PM PDT Some think it's not good but I think its a perfect way to connect to someone you love and truly admire. I want my girl to know she's the Apple of my eye you know?

I give my lover gifts of creativity, my love, my words, my song, my dance, my time, my words, my devotion, my trust, my promises and their fulfilling, I give her gifts from my heart, send her beautiful inspiring pictures, give her perfumes of all sorts, flowers and roses, pictures of nature, and whatever she wants in her heart. Posted: 08 May 2016 05:57 PM PDT Do you think it's weird if a 27yr old man is very interested in kids and takes a big interest in playing with them yet ignores attractive women his age. When he goes on fb he posts photos of kids he knows but never women and him hanging out with them. When he goes to movies he chooses to see kids movies not regulars ones. Is this come thing to be concerned about? |

Posted: 08 May 2016 04:52 PM PDT while celebrating mothers' day today, our children began asking us about the homosexuals they've seen on television, and my wife and i had no idea how to explain it. they wanted to know why some children on tv had two fathers instead of a mommy and daddy. they were wondering why two women were kissing on a disney show two weeks ago. they want to know why they see weddings between two men or two women, exchanging rings and vows. all we could say was those were very bad people committing terrible sins, and this isn't the right way to behave. what are we supposed to tell our children when they see so much sinful activity on tv? we can't simply turn the channel, because nearly every show on television and nearly every movie depicts homosexuals. even the commercials depict homosexuals! it is everywhere and there is no escaping it. we can tell our children these are sinful people, but then they want to know why the tv stations are telling people to commit sins? what do we say? btw, happy mothers' day to all.

Question: Why is it do difficult to stop thinking about someone? Posted: 08 May 2016 10:18 AM PDT I like this guy that I work at the same company with , he started 3 months ago, the first time I saw him there was this connection that i cant explain. His so different from other guys his well mannered, polite. His always smiling at me, making small talk , if he emails me he always says Hi My Dear etc.. At first i thought maybe he is interested in me but i kinda realised he doesn't like me cause if he did he would have done something about it. he would have atleast asked for my number even if we just chatted as friends. Long story short... I've decided to kind of ignore him not be at the same areas that he is . If I see him I would be polite but I just think keeping a distance from him as much as possible should help in getting over him. The thing is that it's so difficult . His so polite and good looking. When he smiles at me I kinda melt. His everything I've always wanted in a guy. I think about him constantly. I have never liked a guy at work and I'm not the type of person to fall for just any guy. I'm so confused, I don't know how to handle this situation.
