Posted: 24 May 2016 04:18 PM PDT OK so I have been invited to a graduation party for a good friend and another friend of hers. I have known the girl since we were kids and i'm friends with the entire family. The other girl I only met her a few times and were friends on facebook but I do not really know her. Would it be considered rude if I bought a gift for my friend but not for the other girl? I dont want to offend anybody. But I am honestly not sure what to do in a situation like this? |

But then we moved and it was like a culture shock, we moved into a huge house. No i don't have new electonics, no tv in my room nothing like that. I know what it is like to think you are just getting by, and having the smallest house of all your friends. But now I am so nervous people will think I am snobby or stuck up because that is what I used to think. |

There is a group of him me and 2 others that are "best" friends. We all play hockey and lacrosse together. He invited the 2 others but not me to his beach house. They've been planning it for about a month and I found out about a week before they are supposed to go. I confronted my friend who has been really secretive and totally tried to hide it from me for as long as possible. I asked him very calmly if there was any reason for not inviting me when inviting the other two. He claimed his dad wouldn't let him bring more than 2 friends and he didn't want me to be mad which is why he didn't tell me. I don't really believe him. He has reason to lie because I have the 3 of them over to my house all the time and they LOVE my pool in the summer. They also know my mom lets me have parties and they always try to make me have parties so there is reason for him to be nice to my face but not really feel that way. Do I believe him? |

She for some reason thinks she has to go to every one of his lacrosse games even know she's said herself that he doesn't care if she's there. Posted: 24 May 2016 03:34 PM PDT So an incident in school happened today,My friend has been getting upset lately because of his art, He seems to be disappointed in the art work he does.(Hes an artist/I am an artist too) Every time after art period ends, hed be so mad, id tell him to chill along side my other friend who also tells him to chill and mediates his feelings. Today after this art period i told him to be happy and stop getting mad, (I was being serious) It was bringing everyone's mood down and making us feel like we did something wrong. He decided to delete me on google hangouts, I got mad and i was holding his art notebook at the time, i tared of the cover of the book and he got really mad at me and decided to tear his whole notebook apart and destroy it completely, My group sat in astonishment because its just now he started to act like this. The teacher wanted his attention , He began to have a melt down. So the teacher spoke to him in private. Keep in mind that this teacher happens to feel the need to pick a bone with me alot. She head i was involved and sent him to the principals office. Afterwords he was fine as ever, Interacted with us, I made sure i was not to harsh with his feelings. I asked him what principal said to him. He said he was getting switched out of this class. I was surprised and i knew it was my fault. His mother came on google hangouts later that day and told me to never talk to him again, i was brutally honest, i told her everything, she did not listen. I cannot let my mother know anymore information because she can get them into some stress because shes very over protective (Which i appreciate) But this is about friendship, and i have to solve this.She got a phone call but has not talked to school yet. We talked with out therapist and said we would calm down with sending school letters |

However, I decided to be a sub instead so I could choose my hours as I have obligations and it's very hard to find a sub when you're on a shift. My friend is really mad at me and thinks I'm abandonning her but we would still work together sometimes and I think being a sub would be way better for me. Posted: 24 May 2016 03:15 PM PDT i use marcal ones (since they are chlorine free) i have struggled with SPD since i was old enough to remember, and i never have been able to handle toiletpaper, sometimes i even used towels. and i like paper towels better since they are stronger and dont dissolve when your wiping, and i also have tried EVERY SINGLE TOILET PAPER i know in the span of around 2008 -2011, i have tried all varietys of: charmin , quilted northern, cottonel, scott, flora, 4 different store brands (food club, cvs, walgreens, shaws, stop and shop...) But then one day i was outside, locked myself out, thankfully my room mate was coming home in an hour, but i had to pee really bad and all their was was a rol of paper towels and a bucket outside, and i haven't used toilet paper since october of 2011 But what im asking is, is it bad for me? |

(I graduated a couple of years ago and now I m in college) We were planning on celebrating together and we were gonna smoke. But then she said we should go to the beach and smoke. But when I asked whose going she said about a dozen of people. I don t know any of them obviously because their all in high school. On top of that only people who are graduating are gonna be there. And usually she hangs out with immature dumbass potheads who get her into petty drama. (I don t even smoke often) So I changed my mind because I don t want to smoke with a bunch of high schoolers that will make me feel like a bum. But she gets mad at me and says why are you being anti social and this is why you don t have friends. I knew she wanted to hang out with me because it s her graduation day so I still offered to come over, but she said there was no point of me spending the day with her if I wasn t going to smoke later on. She made me feel like ****, she knows that I have social anxiety. it seems like everytime we get into an argument she says THIS IS WHY YOU DONT HAVE FRIENDS. I know I don t have that many friends because I have social anxiety. I was depressed for so long and I m trying to change.I work now and I have been making friends and interacting with people (my own age) on the job so I don t understand why she keeps saying that to me. Posted: 24 May 2016 02:50 PM PDT Ok so one of my friends is trying to have a get together and his idea of a get together is to see a movie, and says to have about $40 to eat with, and at the ticket booth his mom tells him not to buy IMAX and does it anyway, and after buying his ticket for IMAX, ironically he asks for 5-15 dollars every time (come on dude not cool), claiming that he'll pay me back and its been 2 months and he still hasn't payed me back so I'm planning on not letting borrow money from me, and he wants to drag me with him (not literally) to see IMAX movies and saying that movies are expensive and I say why not di standard he gets butthurt saying people love to talk, and goes with IMAX because of the sound quality and our parents decided to not do it again and make each other visit each other's houses for our get togethers and was desperate in trying to get back into watching movies with saying that we have energy, and in July, he was desperate to have me as a roommate just so that he doesn't room with anyone else, and saying that he'll take full blame for me just to drop the other person I agreed to be roommates with, and now he said that we'd see movies every 3-5 months and immediately changed it to every month, and claiming that it's too long of a wait, and I just want to drop him as a friend and he's using the movies as an excuse to get money from me. And by the way, he's a little too sensitive, and gets mad easily. |

They sent a list of tutors home with Lisa and I started calling them. All of the tutors were very expensive. Being a single mom, I just could not afford them. I knew a family friend that I thought knew enough math to tutor her and I hoped he would be a lot cheaper. His name was Bill and he was a college senior. I called Bill and asked him if he would tutor Lisa and he agreed to do if for free. He was a great guy for doing this for her. He did tutor Lisa for 3 months. When Lisa got her grade card, she got an A in math. We were both VERY HAPPY and asked Bill go come over so we could tell him the GREAT NEWS. When we told him Lisa's math grade he said that is wonderful news. Lisa told Bill she had to thank him for his help so she kissed him. After she was through kissing him Bill turned to me and said "your turn". I was so excited I kissed him also. We all had a good laugh and a group hug. Bill said "if you need any more help with school subjects, just call me". Some of my friends that I told about this told me what we did was not appropriate and that Bill would get the wrong idea. My take on this is that if Bill was happy and my daughter and I were happy, there is no problem. We were just having fun. What do you think? Did we do something wrong? |

"Make the effort and others will too!" but now I'm the only one making the effort. People always look around for someone better to talk to. I'm not rude so that's not it. I am long-winded though. I always sound nervous because of social anxiety. I have bad posture. Also, i'm not that funny. My social skills are bad because social anxiety led to social isolation. I've also been bullied repeatedly and generally have had a negative life so that's why. I'm a people-pleaser too. I feel like I'm always trying to impress others. Everyone likes my best friend, while I get completely ignored. I see other people always get included while I'm always left out. I feel like an outcast. I feel invisible. It's been this way for 6 years now. I feel like everything I do is lame and that I'm a loser. It's not just my perception, it's others' as well. Many people have told me that nobody notices me. Do not tell me to get new friends because everyone I meet is like this. Clearly the problem is within me. Do not tell me "Just stop caring! It's not worth your time!" or some other explanation of WHY I shouldn't. I want to know HOW I should go about it, step-by-step. Also, don't just suggest hobbies or doing activities. I don't know how to be motivated. I don't have money either. Plus, school's been keeping me busy. Thank you for reading this despite me sounding whiny. |

Then we had at beakfast and I was sitting at a table with the bros, eating, and saw a girl sit down our table. At first she was very quiet and shy but then quickly opened up, talking about her interests and I found that we shared a lot of common interests which would be cool, right? I was quickly shut down from further conversation when my friend from my history class revealed that that s his TWIN sister. They don t look alike and even act the same but now I feel that I can t talk her because I fear I will hurt her emotionally (not initially of course) and my friend will hate me for putting his sister in distress. Now I ve graduated from high school and found that she ll be going to a different college, along with her brother. I invited them along with some other friends to hang out downtown and they seemed interested. P.S.: I know there s a little to impossible chance that we ll every have a relationship other than friends. I also reluctantly acknowledge that we will probably never see each other again, for she tends to stay away from social media and I only have her brother s number. And a little disclaimer, I m typing this because I need to relieve stress because I have had in comfortable nights and minor depression (if that s even a term) ever since we graduated. He stayed in my "Added Me" list, which I assumed meant he never unadded me. I recently added him back again but I can't view his snap score, like when you go to "My Friends" and you click on a friend and their username and score comes up. We'd text and hangout when I was home since that was the only time we could hangout as I went to school 2 hours away. My sophomore year in college she got a new boyfriend, and he seemed like a cool guy, he was 2 years older than me. Well the texts and times we would hangout when I was home, and during semester breaks got shorter and shorter, and then they stopped around my Junior year. My bestfriend deleted all her social media accounts, and then one day randomly brought them back. It now seems as the only people she hangs out with are her boyfriend, his sister, and his friends. I feel like I've gone from bestfriend of almost 10+ years to nothing. We still text now, but it's once in a blue moon, and those conversations don't last more than 5 minutes. I've asked her to hangout in the apst and shes almost brought her boyfriend twice. I say almost cause she brought it up, and then didn't bring him. So, I have no idea what to do to regain our friendship to even a little bit of what it used to be. |

Like she hung out with me only out of pity. This came to realization when I found out she doesn't follow me on facebook (we're friends on there), which kind of hurt my feelings. I asked her about this and it upset her and she yelled it was none of my business, which is true. A guy friend of mine said to stop being so pushy/needy. Something I struggle with since I have like 3 friends total outside of work that I rarely see so I'm alone most of the time. She also said that people at work had been talking as if we were having an affair or something. Them seeing us working out or seeing me innocently comment/like on a facebook status. I'm a guy, she's married so I could understand their reaction, but an affair is obviously not true. I believe in the sanctity of marriage and would never do such a thing. Since those incidents, we've barely even talked to each other. I sometimes try to start small talk if its quiet but she has none of it. Usually just ignoring me or giving me one word answers. Do I just leave it as is and move on? If I just leave it alone for a long time (months) will it eventually go back to how it was or have I ruined everything? I really thought we got along well, but I guess I screwed up. |

I've had an idea she's been like this for years but lately it's getting irritating. She seems like a follower and kind of selfish sometimes. She won't do anything unless her sister or co-workers give it "approval" and then she's in. I mentioned a workout festival that we would all be interested in. Her sister was interested but said she couldn't afford the funds at the time. She encouraged us to go and Stacey was still indecisive. It wasn't until her co-workers told the cap they were going was when she told me she was interested but it wasn't until the day before and they had already gotten their tickets - the event was sold out. I also suggested a class to do for the 3 of us (we work out together every week) and I suggested something like boxing. Stacey was into the idea at first. Her sister tried it and wasn't interested but again, encouraged us to do it. And of course, Stacey was not interested anymore. WTH? Then she texts both of us to do another class with her because her co-workers are joining. I don't think it's fair sometimes bc I do activities that with them, even ones I despise because I'm being a team player. (The only times I don't do it is when I have to work, other than that, I join). I want to do one thing and she won't do it unless her sister or co-workers do it. Advice? *my friend Stacy |

She ruined one of my good friendships by lying, so I NICELY told her I no longer wish to be friends. She left very angrily and didn't speak to me for a few days. A few days ago she started talking to me and asking me how I was and I said fine, then she said I'm glad we're best friends...She keeps trying and trying and I keep telling her I'm not interested in associating and it's emotionally exhausting. He became angry at me for not responding to him and sent me hate messages with derogatory remarks. I have since blocked him. This experience was upsetting. Posted: 24 May 2016 11:58 AM PDT I'm going to college in a different state in the fall so I'd really like to learn to make friends/be social and for my summer to be less dull. I'll give you guys a quick background. I've been pretty shy and quiet and when I was younger when I didn't have a phone/car to talk and hang out with friends I went on the Internet. I made a lot of friends and still talk to a few of them now. I've talked to a lot of different people over the years. But I don't talk to most of them anymore. Since we're all starting college soon I don't want to force myself into their friend groups because I'd feel awkward. I'd say I have one best friend who I talk to and hang out with a lot but during the summer we barely talk and then I have two other friends who I hang out with sometimes. I think the main problem is I don't keep contact. When people ask me to hang out I'd say no even if I wasn't busy because I didn't feel like it but then I'd regret it later. Eventually they stopped asking me to hang out.on the rare occasions I do go out people tell me I'm fun and should hang out more. I feel like I'm missing out when I see snapchat stories of people at parties. I know it's wrong but I even lie and say I went out drinking/whatever just to feel seem normal. Another reason is I worked a lot during the school and will probably work more in the summer so I don't have time to do things. Even if I'm off I'm too afraid to ask people to do things with me in fear they'll say no. Sorry this is so long. |

| Question: Friend won't forgive me? Posted: 24 May 2016 11:37 AM PDT I posted questions before about this, and I'm sorry. But, I just was told that my friend won't forgive me, and I feel angry. Here's what happened: On Saturday, I see a picture on Facebook of my friend and another girl, which made me mad (Immature, I know...), and I went off on her on Facebook. The mistake I made was, "You put (her boyfriend's name) before me!", which I honestly didn't realize I was saying. I then ask if she was mad and her reply was "ish". She then stops replying to me, and i keep messaging her telling her I was sorry, which no luck (she kept getting on and offline and not seeing the messages). Next morning, I get a message from her and her boyfriend. Hers was that I really made her mad and I wasn't her best friend (her boyfriend was). Her boyfriend, however, called me a c***, basically called me stupid (he said I needed constant defining of every word of the Webster's Dictionary), and said he was better than me in every way and that was why she chose him over me. I burst into tears when I read those messages. I tried to talk to her, but she would be really rude to me and told me to not talk to her, which I stopped after awhile. Fast-forward to today, and I write a letter that I have my boyfriend (who they're friends with) give her to, I showed him the messages exchanged between the three of us, and he just told me that she won't forgive me. I also realized that i should never of said the words "You choose (boyfriend's name) over me" All advice appreciated The letter said how sorry I was, I would make it up to her, etc. Because I really did feel sorry and I hated myself for saying that. I wish I had kept my mouth shut and never said anything to her. I feel awful now although I probably deserve it... I found out today that her boyfriend was the one typing most of the stuff she said to me. although I'm willing to forgive her, I lost respect for her boyfriend. I was a true friend to her, and they've been together a year. I'm just so distraught, hurt, and angry about the whole thing. |

I'm currently finding my GCSE's extremely stressful and frequently get headaches etc due to this I also struggle with anxiety issues. On Friday I text my best friend saying that I'm stressed and she told her mum who said "well how is she gonna do A levels?" This really annoyed me and she has said things like this to me before. I have been working my hardest for these last 2 years and for my so called best friend to say something like that has just pissed me off. We currently aren't talking. She is fighting with me on the day that I had two GCSE's! She is against gays and she finds them weird and she doesn't know what to say to them. Which I'm not straight however I can't tell her as I know she will judge me and make comments. I just wanna be able to come out and be happy but I can't with her. In class when I'm revising she constantly distracts me by asking stupid questions and this is impacting on my work speed. Everything is about her and her "perfect life" it's so annoying!!!
