I'm 13 years old, and I'm the only one out of all my friends that doesn't have a snapchat. My parents flat-out refuse, and it's really annoying. They're afraid that I'm going to get bullied, even though they know all my friends and know they wouldn't do that, and they're also afraid I'm going to send nude pictures (even though they've said they know I wouldn't do that), or receive them (even though they have said before none of my friends would do that). I've literally countered every single thing they can think of, and they still won't let me have one. Oh, and none of that "there your parents, what they say goes" and "just deal with it" crap. I'm just looking for suggestions here

So today I covered a shift for my friend because she said she was exhausted from her job and because she had something important planned out. Well I later found out the 'important thing' was her going to a party. That kind of pissed me off, I don't care what she does but she wasted my time, I thought it was something urgent and of great importance so I agreed to cover for her. If I knew she just wanted to go party I would have said no also I don't think she was as exhausted as she said she was if she still had enough energy to go party. Am I in the wrong for being mad at her?

My cousin and I play this game that we made up when we're camping, usually played at night, called Monster (very creative, I know). Basically, he and any friends he might have with him get 30-60 seconds to run into the woods of the campground. I am the "monster" and I have to use my detective skills to track them down and get within arms reach of them. Here's the thing: there are two walkie talkies. I have one and my cousin has the other. The entire time, we can communicate with each other. In order to make the game more exciting, I'll usually try to say creepy things to them and make it kinda scary, and we all agree that it makes it more fun. I live with my uncle and he made a pot of beans, he ate about half of it and a half hour later without asking him I ate the rest, he ask me if I did and told him yes and he slams the door in my face like he's mad..is that really something worth getting mad about, if it was something like taking something in his room without asking then I could see why you wouldn't like it but not this, and he's told me before that I can have any food in our kitchen that he's bought..what do you think..

Why do I remind some people of their friends; old or new. I'm 21 and for the past year and a half, people have told me that they like to be around me because I remind them of some friend they had. That both me and the other person were nice, kind people. We would always have genuine smiles and other things like that. I've even had people tell me that I look like the other person. Where there would be moments that I would act so much like them and that moment would be gone. I've even had people call me by their friends names by accident. I think it's kind of cool that I'm able to do that, to be able to bring back good memories for others, but it's weird to do that.

Maybe it's just where I lived, but when I was in school, and I talk to one of the students - not to engage in a friendship forming conversation or anything - just like a question, and they come back with smart aleck talk or almost tell me off just for being in their sight!

I'm 20 years old & I want to like make the best out of my summer. As I said, I have no friends & since I'm kind of new to the area I don't know what to do really or where to go. I have a job but they only schedule me to work 2 days a week, I always ask if they can give me more hours but they keep saying they'll get to it but they never do. I often take my dog walking, and to dog parks but the people there are always like 40+ Don't tell me to "volunteer and join a club" because 1) I'm 20 years old and all of the clubs are for kids high school age and below, joining a club doesn't solve anything over the age of 18 bc you're just too old, especially these days. 2) I don't know how it is where you are, but where I am there's no where to volunteer, not all places are the same, and no one really needs volunteers anymore, you either work there or you don't. I go to a church, but the people there that are my age hardly go, and if they do they aren't very nice to me, and everyone there grew up together, once again I'm new. And they aren't like other churches, they don't really have any church outings or do anything together, so no hope there. I know there's more to making friends than the oh so cliche "join a club and volunteer", so what can I do? And even if I don't find any friends how can I make the most out of this summer on my own? Where I am we don't have any beaches either.

I'm a 20 year old female. Marijuana has recently been legalized where I live so I have no worries about being "caught" by the police. My parents are against it, however. But I would probably not tell them if I choose to try it. My best friend let me know that my other best friend is interested in experimenting with it tomorrow and wants to know if I want to try it to (because I never have). I'm a major control freak, so I don't know if I would like it. I drink occasionally, but only for recreation with these close best friends of mine. I'm not being peer pressured at all. Regardless of whether I go, I know they are going to try it, and I just can't decide if I want to try it to or not. My best friends won't judge me for doing it, or not doing it. I'm just paranoid about trying "drugs" because I'm worried I'll enjoy the feeling of being high more than being sober if that makes sense? So first off, I'm a 14 year old guy, recently I've been very irritable towards everyone. So anyway, me and my mom were doing a puzzle today and then one of us said something that was rude but we were joking, and then the other one of us said something equally rude (and kidding) back. At one point (without thinking straight) I said to her "well at least I don't blame all my problems on other people" and of course that wasn't a good thing to say. And so she got upset about that (obviously) and mainly becuz she had a rough childhood because her parents always kinda rejected her and that's why what I said made her upset because she thought that I was referring to that. Anyway, she came to my room to talk to me about it and I said I was sorry and that I was kidding (which I was) and I wasn't even referring to that. She obviously didn't believe me but still didn't act mad. So I'm just afraid that this will affect our relationship and I really don't want that, and I'm just wondering how I could go to her and have her forgive me, and also forget about it in the future especially since she threatened today to "stop telling me things about herself" probably becuz she thinks I don't care or that I think she's just complaining, but that's not how I feel. I was always an optimist, I had dreams as a child of becoming a world class footballer, but it didn't work out ha. When I finished school I went to college and studied to be a doctor but failed and dropped out. I worked so hard, in a pub at night and a mechanic during the day and I now have enough money to go back to college but why? I had friends in school and friends in college and friends on my local football team, work friends and above all a beautiful, funny, amazing girlfriend. But at the end of the day we are on or own personal voyage and must leave each others paths to ensure we arrive at our destination, which brings me to the question what is the point? Why make friends? Why have a girlfriend? Why dream big at the end of the day it is night, no matter what voyage we take we all end up in the one place, in a hole in the ground. I've lost all faith and thus my happiness, all my friends have abandoned me and I them, unknowingly we have drifted and I dream of a family with my girlfriend, a life where we combine our personal journeys together to make one. Yet is not that simple, my lovely aimee died of cancer in December and to be frank I haven't got a hope, no matter what I do I'll never see her again, I'll be in a hole in the ground someday so why not today, why prolong the agony of meeting new people and losing them, why open a new chapter in life when my favourite has been read. This chapter "alone in the dark" I feel may be my last, and part of me wants that.

So I usually love talking and being around people, but recently when ever one of my friends talks or even texts me I'll turn off my phone and hide it somewhere and stay in my room alone for hours. My Husband and I live in a secluded area where we only have the one neighbor. They have Trisha who going to be eight this summer and a baby not yet a year old. Okay so before my 16th party, her daughter (my best friend) came like 45 minutes early to help me out before everyone came (small party, in my basement). So her 16th is today, and it starts at 7:30. Her mom called my mom (who are also best friends) and asked to pick me up at 4:30 so that I can go with her and pick out the cake, since I was with my friend when she ordered it, and my friend has to stay home for preparations. But is it really that difficult that she can take just take a picture of the cake and send it to her daughter to make sure it s hers? Well, for the past half hour since she picked me up, all she s been doing is running errands, i.e. dropping her son off, picking up food - all these things she could ve done before picking me up to go get a cake. Picking up a cake takes 15 minutes. She s making it 3 hours. I really don t mind that much if I went an hour early to help out, but 3 hours?? I can t be spending my whole day at her house. I complained to my mom before she picked me up and my mom just told me it s okay to help out. And I m like yeah, but not three hours. Just some smaller examples, her mom always calls me for help in online shopping or sending her coupons or something because apparently her daughter doesn t know how. Yeah sure, her daughter is too dumb to type up "coupon" in Google and send it to her mom. My mom s not doing much about this, and I don t know what to do. Advice??

there's this party tonight I sorta wanted to go to so I asked someone who's supposed to be my best friend if she was going and she said she was going with _____ (someone I used to be friends with and a bunch of others) and it made me pretty upset, I know it's dumb. My other friend asked if I wanted to go with her but she's not really my fave ... Should I just go with her or stay home wallowing in my sadness?

My daughter is in a string trio. They have a great music coach and his only draw back is he frequently gives us 20-25 minutes of a 30 minute lesson at the conservatory because he is running late and they have to get to their other music teachers. They have a big performance coming up next week and their coach wants to have a private lesson outside of the conservatory. We have done this before and we pay $40 for one hours and he usually gives us 75-90 minutes. I feel this makes up for all those 5-10 minutes. Now the other moms don't want to pay tomorrow for the extra lesson because 1. it was his idea to have the lesson and 2. he is often 5-10 minutes late. I feel we should pay because he give us extra time and the girls are learning every time they rehearse. Since I somehow have been put in the spot of manager, I'm not sure how, but I'm afraid I will get screwed and have to pay for their portion of the lessons. All the Mom's agreed to the extra lesson, no one was forcing them. Should I just pay for the whole lesson, even though it screws me it keeps the peace? Or should I just tell the other moms to talk to the coach about it? I've never managed anything before and at a loss as to what to do.

Okay, so 3 days ago I was at my friends house swimming in her pool. My friends mom said "You look like you're having a lot of fun. Come over and swim with Savvanah anytime you want, Sweetie.". I went over to a friends house on campus, and wanted to cook something, but no one was home. So, I went in to the group kitchen, got what I needed and cooked my things. When my friend group got back, one of the girls said "I don't mind you going and using stuff, but some girls might, so next time just text someone". I'm 24 Years old women That has no boyfriend or friends

I'll try and keep this as short as possible, so basically I'm in a friendship group of three. This never works. My friend once said that this group of three wouldn't work and someone would be left out, but then my other friend said no one does in our group. Except, they do: me. The other two wait for each other outside of a classroom , whisper to each other or say "I need to tell you something later" as in without me. They also make us walk in a triangle, with me always at the back. I think it's unintentionally but it hurts. Also if I'm with one of them (who I can have fun with and feel like actual best friends when the other one isn't around) and the other then comes along, they basically ditch me to the back of the triangle. I try not to let it bother me but I'm sick of feeling like a third wheel, being treated second best and when I brought it up with them, they looked at me like I was stupid and it just carried on. I've lived in this town/small city nearly my entire life. Its been fine until I started high school...then EVERYTHING went downhill. At the moment, I am a junior (about to be a senior) 17 year old girl who goes to a preppy private school and my life couldn't be more boring/sad. I have (close to) no friends and spend all of my time alone closed up in my room doing homework or watching TV. The problem is that because this city is so small, everyone in a certain age group knows everyone in that age group. I know people I have never met before. I am just so sick of being soo lonely all the time. I am kind of shy and a wallflower. Do you think that the problem sounds like its me? Will I be lonely and have no friends everywhere I go or do you think my problems could be at least partially solved when I go somewhere new for college? I have a friend who's really not the most responsible. A few months age she and her husband went on vacation and left their 2 babies in the care of a 19 year old "manny" who doesn't have a driver's license. When they were leaving my friend asked if I could check on the babies and help the manny out. The first time I went over I realized they didn't have enough food for the week and the place was a pigsty. I cleaned, I brought in groceries, I fed the babies and cooked so they'd have something nutritious the next day. I left the manny my number and told him to call if he needed anything. He called the next day and asked for beer. I told him that I wasn't buying him beer and that he shouldn't be drinking while he was alone with the babies. He said he was kidding. I was not sure. I went back every day that week, found the children filthy and hungry, bottles with spoiled milk on the floor and dried vomit in a crib. I also strongly suspected a party had been held because there were about 15 glasses dirtied in less than 24 hours and the babies don't use them yet. I did what I could to help and reported the situation to the parents when they returned. Today the manny called me saying that he and the children were "hangry" could I help them. He said he didn't know where the parents were. I delivered food, cleaned my friends house, (again a pigsty) and when I got home I see on FB that my friend and her husband are out golfing!!! I want to scream! What to do?

Basically I became good friends with the guy that lives next door to me. He is my neighbour. When we initially met he made it clear he fancied me but the feeling was not mutual so I told him all I wanted was friendship and that would never turn into a relationship. He accepted. Now months later he has started acting inappropriately by turning up daily and requesting more and more time out of me. No matter how long I spend with him 2-3 hours daily he always keeps knocking my door. I started to feel harrased and decided I want to end the friendship. I saw him outside and just ran into my flat. Then I got fed up and asked the building staff to unlock the back exit to leave which they did. He still saw me and im dreading tonight cos he will probably knock and spy on me from outside. help! he thought it was ok to wake me up at 1am because he owed me money. I opened the door out of shock and stupidity due to sleepiness and he said I would have to come to his flat to collect it. I said id deal with it tomorrow and I never went back there. He is very socially inept, from spending time with him he doesnt seem to understand normal social cues or behaviour. Eg he scratches his balls sneakily, coughs in your face without covering his mouth, when smoking blows smoke in your face i have to tell him to stop doing those things. It doesnt seem to be out of rudeness just lack of knowledge on how to act appropriately around people. Once he took his trousers off and got changed in front of me I was speechless - who does that And while I was at the bus stop today I saw him walking away from my flat, he didnt know I was out - at least until he just happened to look at the bus stop which he can see from outside our flats. And he spotted me - he just glared at me, it was a look of pure anger/vindictiveness/hatred and weird creepiness. His body language was weird and he just looked utterly predatory and frightening. It shocked me cos i always saw him as this innocent lonely person and i pitied him. Am i being in naive in thinking if i avoid him as much as i can and ignore him he will go away? My mum told me either to confront him and warn him to stop or to call the police. Ok so my friend that I haven't seen in 7 months that moved from my school is at my house visiting for the weekend and we have been getting along just fine. When she did go to my school and when she used to come over she would usually act like that too... It's usually why I don't invite her over... But I just tried to talk to her about it and she rolled her eyes and stormed out of the room! She then came back in and grabbed something and walked out and as she did she said "Talk to me when you have your attitude straightened out" and she closed to door. Ok so i honestly am not trolling but curious so heres why i think i was drugged Im 15 and i went to a party with my friend. Now the party was mostly 18+ year olds so i was kinda alone trying to avoid people. I think i was drugged because the last thing i remember was meeting someone who said they were 19 and ive been really light headed and have been having blackouts like the ones when you stand up then go like 20 seconds all dark then you can see again. I also have thrown up only once today (could be bad food) Today i woke up at my friends house (the host and idk how she found all those boys) on her coach with drinks everywhere. I know i had no business being there but i didnt know it would be crowded with older boys.

I unfriended someone on Snapchat, then sent them a friend request that they haven't accepted. I keep sending them snaps even though we aren't technically friends. If (or when) they accept the request, what happens to all of the snaps I sent them? Will they just get one big group of them, or will they never have gone through?

Hi! I'm a 17 year old girl and last summer I went camping with some people who had my age. I coudn't stop laughing but he was too red, then I noticed he had an erection. I smiled to him, took his hand and took him to the disabled bathroom, so I bent myself, pulled his swimsuit down and I performed oral sex. I am 17 years old and junior year is almost over. I have no friends and I have never had any. I have anxiety because I am always alone and hate being invisible, but I don't tell anyone. Ever since I was very young I discovered I'm extremely shy and boring. I still am. I cannot start conversations and am very awkward to be around. I've been told I am a boring/dull person many many times. I hardly smile and put this mindset in my head that school is about work only and I don't need friends, but I feel so lonely. I've been bullied a lot as a kid and the only "friends" I've had were fake and hurt my feelings every day. They always talked behind my back and I had problems with them each day, so I dropped them. I was their doormat, because I still can't stand up for myself. I am known as the "weird girl" in school and everybody avoids me. Whenever I try to talk I am ignored and given dirty looks. I do everything alone and I can be ice cold in school because I am just irritated with everyone, for judging me and being so rude. I see everyone else having fun with their friends and enjoying school, laughing, and I am there alone in a corner. Sure I'm getting my work done, but I feel like I ruined my high school experience. No fun memories, no friends, and I was bullied during freshman and sophomore year. I hate this about myself. I try and try to be outgoing and stop being so boring and icy but I can't come out of my shell. I leave off a bad impression. People always think I'm mad because of my facial expression. I am constantly serious and I can't help it. Secretly I wish I had friends, not a bunch but a few nice ones who would appreciate me instead of the horrible "friends" I had before, only adding to my social anxiety. Everyone hates me. I get dirty looks right when I walk into school and people go as far as literally acting like I am not even there. I feel so unimportant sometimes. Every emotion I have, I keep to myself. I hate my personality. I am insecure and a complete snooze fest. I can't keep up a conversation for even a few seconds. I am losing hope in ever making friends and being like other high school students. This has been going on since the second grade. I am always the last choice, the invisible one and as shy as I am I secretly would like some (good) attention. I would like to be respected by my peers rather than looked down upon. I am sick and tired of these assumptions being made about me. No one ever gives me the time to get to know me. I have been bullied terribly by these fake friends I mentioned earlier. And they are still on my case.

This toxic friend showed up in my circle years ago, and he's soooo stupid. He always acts like I'm: Shallow, conventional, only interested in the basics of life like: sex, popularity, and image. I believe I'm being "lied to & left out" from a friends birthday. The whole situation seems very "odd" My friend "Eric" told me he's doing "seperate" things with all his friends for his birthday. He had mentioned to me previously that he went out already with his friend "Hank" for his birthday last weekend. I text messaged a few other friends who I know would have been invited to this gathering. They told me they had plans this weekend but were very vague about their plans for the weekend. My friend "Eric" told me he was spending his birthday weekend with "Hank" which seems odd as he had told me that he previously did something for his birthday with "Hank" something seems fishy. To be honest, I could care less if I were invited to this birthday it's more the "lying" &"sneaky" behavior that is bothering me. I feel like this is very childish & something someone would do in middle school - not someone who's turning 30 years old. Should I call him out or say something? And what could I say that sounds "mature" & will not cause "drama" but will get my point across? Thanks

Hi! I know this unusual but I am a 21 yr old female and I am pussy whipped by my also 21 yr old female friend. It all started when I came to a new college (no friends,new to the area) and then a female appeared like a shiny beacon of light to show me around and be there for me. A week passed and we managed to spend every hr together and I knew she was going through some stuff with some guy so I was there! Like a good friend! And then one night we ended hooking up (no idea what came over me) and from then on, she kept ties on me. Who I was hanging with, getting mad when I hang with other people, acting petty at times. and then a month passed. And we slowly drifted apart. About a year has passed and I want to catch up with her but she has been blowing me off quite often but I jus let it go and keep trying! Why can t I get over her?!

Starting this year, I feel like I've matured a lot. Also, I've begun to take school much more seriously and I am learning a ton. In my AP English class this year, we wrote many argumentative essays. I really enjoyed writing them and I can actually craft logical arguments. Now, I find myself sometimes debating with others online and in person. It annoys me when people constantly think they are right or think their illogical claim is a fact. Is this common?

Seriously, I just wanna vent and share stories: it's pretty obvious really—when you have good friends, they tell you how great you are. So when you move on and try to make new friends, you have this sense of how "great" you are, and it comes as a BIG SHOCK when you discover: OTHER people DON'T THINK SO. LOL. It took me years to accept this... is this normal, lol? I mean: Have you experienced something similar??
