During high school I socially did not fit in, I had basically no friends and the ones I did have didn't stick with my for long. I was shy, spoke too loud, and did not know how to interact with anybody. Now, three years later I haven't spent ALOT of time focusing on myself and my people skills. I have kept my customer service job working at a front desk for 2 years and have excelled at it. However, I spent so much time working I still don't have any friends in my life. I am terrified that as soon as I begin school I'll lose all the confidence I've built, and spend the school years with no one. I do not know how to befriend people, start conversation, and tend to feel I am uninteresting or highly dislikes by everyone. I'm so scared to go back. Please tell me how I can keep my confidence up during those first few weeks |

I was his drummer and since he is in the service we lost touch. Recently, we got back in touch because his time in the service is almost up and he wants to try to get a record deal in Nashville and record. He thinks this might be his big break. He went and hired this guy as his drummer that claims he has been the drummer of many big name country artists. Upon doing some digging, I could not find any evidence that this guy was a drummer for anyone famous and he has not provided any video proof, either. My friend (singer) just believes anything this guy tells him. My friend asked me to be his sound engineer, and while I am happy to be asked to do the job- I am unhappy and feel betrayed because I was with him in his band when he was starting up and he chose this guy to drum. Should I confront the drummer and ask for proof of his playing for big name country acts and tell the singer that this guy is lying (he really isnt a good drummer to be honest) OR just keep my mouth closed as my wife said and hope that my friend realizes that I am a better musician and choice for his band? Or, should I tell my friend that I am unhappy with being just the sound guy and just decline to have anything to do with his music anymore? I'm kinda not understanding what this old drummer has over me that I don't. The singer and I are about the same age. I have tons of experience. I just dont get it. |
| Posted: 23 May 2016 03:26 PM PDT So, I am a make-a-wish kid, recently done with chemo. My wish was to take my cousin and my best friend to Canada so we can meet the voice actors of a show we like. I took the time to come up with an interesting wish because I want to make the most of it. But my mom has been the only one getting directly contacted be make-a-wish, and she hasn't been spreading the information as well as she should have. So, my friend wasn't aware of any due date for her passport, and now she can't come. I feel like I was pressured into making decisions while I was on painkillers and chemo, and want to cancel my wish so I can come up with a new one that I will enjoy more because I want to make the most out of my wish, but I'm not that interested in the show anymore and my friend can't come. But we're like three or four months away from leaving and we've been waiting a while and I feel like if I try to cancel everyone will blame it on my friend and make me feel bad because they already think she's so stupid because her parents took so long to get a passport. And apparently they have "big plans for me" I'm not sure what that entails, and my cousin has her hopes up. Please help |

We're all in the 8th grade. Recently, Shayla has been bringing up Jerry alot in class. It really seemed like she was bragging but I would brush it off. I'm not trying to make myself sound stuck up by comparing us, but I'm one of the smartest students in class, I get 90 and 95 while she may get an 75 or 80. We also go to the same after school program with our families. Her father isn't really there for her but my dad is the complete opposite. Anyways, she finally admitted that she liked him and she kept texting me about how he is at her house all the time (I later found out that she was lying). She would not stop trying to brag. At the after school program, Jerry, my friends and I were standing outside and I noticed that Jerry kept standing really close to me and just stare at me like he wanted to talk. When I looked up I saw Shayla and her friend peeking out the door and trying to hide her anger. She later jetted out the door, got in her moms car and when they drove pass, she was leaning on her are looking out yhe window at us with a frowny attitude. I later texted her and she was responding, but when I would text something it was like she was trying to outdo me. | Posted: 23 May 2016 01:37 PM PDT Before I get started here, don't tell me to just not sneak out to begin with. Its a futile effort and I'm looking for some real answers. If you're wondering, I'm 16 with insanely strict parents, i.e., I have to sneak out to do anything at all. I've been sneaking around for a long time during the day, but there are some things you gotta do at night. The problem here isn't the getting out part; I've done it enough times to know how to get out quickly and quietly. The problem is getting back in. My window is a first story window, but it's really high up. As in I can't climb back in once I'm out high up because of the way our house is built (one side is lower than the other). My window is my only options because all the doors scream in agony thanks to age when opened and I have a cat who acts like a dog that's seen the mailman that cries when she sees people at night. My mum is a light sleeper too, and although I could get past my dad any time before 3 am (that's when he gets up for work), I can't get a drink at night without her complaining the next day that I woke her up and she lost so much sleep blah blah blah. Any advice? Do you think a fabric ladder of any kind might help? Thank you for your help and insight. |

I am a female. I have one other girl in my sophomore class (4 total in the Sr. High including me) I have a boyfriend who has gone to this school for 6 years(I've been there for 3) and is currently a senior taking only two classes in the morning, so I'm never really around him. I'm a very friendly person (I think.. And have heard others say) I'm not mean to anyone, unless they are first rude to me. Even then, I try to kill with kindness. If they are too rude, I will (and do successfully and tactfully) put them in their place. All of the guys are pretty rude to me. They all have liked me at one time but I have a boyfriend. The girl in my grade is new and EVERYONE (lol but me) likes her. She's very outgoing and sporty. I'm outgoing but I don't play a ton of sports and I'm not freakishly obsessed like she is. Also, no one at my school likes sports either. Anyways, she's not that great of a person. I honestly think she's a bit bitchy. I'm also not trying to be mean, but many have told me I'm the prettiest in the school. Being that there is only four of us it's really easy to compare people. They started making fun of it. Then someone from one of their group said that I'm lying because later I'm going to say I'm from a different nationality and then I'm going to do it again. Then someone said that I'm going to admit being a nationality that I look nothing alike to. Then she said heck no screaming that I can't be of that nationality. I felt like she said that because my skin color is different from them. Then one person from the table that's from the same continent said that she feels like I'm from the country I said I was from before because I don't look like the country I said I was from. Then when we were sitting together they asked me how long is my hair and I said its up to my waist. Then they started saying that I'm lying and to take my hair from a ponytail which would be too much to put back. Then someone pointed to their head and said that the length of my hair is up to my head. Then they all started believing that my hair can't be that long. |

Posted: 23 May 2016 12:04 PM PDT All three of us are about the same age, and my best friend (met through my boyfriend), who I truly care about and try to be a good friend to her. Her boyfriend, however, is a jerk. I originally thought he was a really sweet guy (by what I see of them in the school hallways, he's really sweet to her), but not anymore. For example, he messaged me and called me a c*** and basically said I was stupid and he was better than me. And this is because me and her got into a fight (which was partly my fault). My own boyfriend even said he was pretty mean to her, since he apparently made her cry on Friday, he was mean to her during a field trip to the movies (he told me this), and my friend said herself that her stepfather went off on her boyfriend because he made her upset. For our fight, I apologized many times and was even crying and very upset because of what they were saying to me (she told me that I was never her best friend, her boyfriend was, and to not talk to her). I feel awful for what I have done (I went off on her about a picture, which was wrong of me). But yet, she sees this prick as her prince charming...despite how he treats her! My other friends said she was a lot more of a nicer person before she started to date her current guy (they've been going out for a year), and this was the first time me and her ever had a fight. All advice will be appreciated! Let me add that I actually was truly there for her, since I always asked if she was okay, I complimented her, and I gave her advice when she needed it. We were only friends for a couple of months, and it really hurts me that she said all of those mean words to me and let her boyfriend insult me. And I m sure she knew it was my birthday because we have a group chat with 3 of our other friends and after one of my other friends texted happy birthday to me she texted something after that completely unrelated. And, we have Spanish together and she didn t even acknowledge it then either :( also the past couple weeks she has been really distant, like I used to come into Spanish class and say hey and we d talk for like 5 minutes until the bell rang and a lil bit throughout class. But today and recently I come in and she s just sitting there on her phone and doesn t even look up at me when I walk in. And she seems kind of annoyed when I try and talk to her now. She had a problem she wanted my advice on. At lunch, she told me her son in law (her daughter's husband) wanted her to loan him some money. She had already made him 3 loans and he had not paid any of those 3 loans back. She wanted to know if she should make him a 4th loan. I told her this is a VERY TOUGH situation. She should probably consider the 3 pervious loans as gifts as the odds are VERY LOW they will be paid back. I told her I think the best approach would be to tell him that after he paid back the previous loans, she would consider making him a new loan. Also I saw a video he made years ago saying that he hated black women. He told me that Caucasian blonde women is his preference that he doesn't like black women and he never will. He told me this after he slept with me and I'm a black woman. Yes I know a man will have sex with any woman regardless of her race. But he also creates fake accounts on Facebook and sometimes he uses pictures of black women. For example he's added me twice from a fake account using black women. Then he deactivated the accounts I'm not sure why he does this. I guess because he likes to play games but I don't get why he uses pictures of black women if he hates them. A few days ago he added me from account using a picture of a black woman wearing a bathing suit. It looked like a picture from instagram then he deactivated the account again. But I notice he has been making fake accounts for awhile now of men and women. I read where this other woman said he had been harassing her on Facebook but she's Caucasian. Whenever I know any girl, he wants to know who she is and tries to get close to her. Whenever he feels like I am getting closer, he forces himself upon her. If he know I send her a message he would send two, if I call her twice he calls her five. When a girl wants to talk to me privately, if he knows her well, he wouldn't leave us alone, he would try to participate in the conversation and cut me off. And if he doesn't know her well, he would glance at us and keep a certain distance where he can hear what we are saying. He even goes far by mimicking my way of joking around, if I flirt with her or even hold her hand, he would do the same and most of the times she ends up shutting both of us off, because she doesn't want to shut him off alone and be rude. I often hear "Look, he is doing so because you did so, stop doing so in front of him, I don't want him to joke around with me". He even tried to flirt with my GF the same way I do. He even tells them his secrets (which he never does with me) so that they can trust him and tell him their secrets just like they do with me. I tried talking to him about it and he just plays dumb and act like he have no idea what I am talking about. Please let me know how to deal with him & please don't tell me ignore it, I have been ignoring it for three years and I had enough. |

II was going through some of the stuff in my house, and I came across a picture of mine when I was 4, I cried so much I was so cute OMG! I have changed immensely since then, I kinda wanna hold that little boy in my arms. I want more picture of my childhood with my family and friends ( if there were any) but there are no other pictures , my family says that they weren't really big on taking picture.. She lied about her identity to me for 4 months before telling me the truth. I have been with her when she called up someone, planning on knowingly lying to them... Other times, she has told me things as "jokes" probably just to see how gullible I am (i.e., that someone we works with is named ____ when it's not). I even called her out on the name thing when she started to get me to believe it, and she's like, "You know when I'm lying. I'm not good at it..." During this time since as long ago as I can remember my best friend was a girl. She was lived in the house behind mine and we played all the time. We promised to get married when we grew up and even tried to kiss once but were embarrassed so we tired underwater with our eyes closed and failed. Anyway long story short my mom died and my family moved. However right before we moved she painted a plank of wood and put her name, "I love you :)", and her home phone number on it. She gave me the plank of wood and told me to keep our promise and to visit her. Of course since I was a kid I didn't have a car or phone so I couldn't call of visit her. I had moved 3 states away and gave up trying to convince my father to drive 3 states for a kid to visit a friend. Years past I got my first phone at 16 and to this day still don't own a car. I was going through my old stuff in storage and found the plank of wood hidden away. I am 22 years old now and am uncertain what to do about the plank. Should I call the number? Would it even still work. Wouldn't it be weird and creepy for a grown man to call the parents of a girl he knew when he was 5? What do I even ask? In all honesty this problem has really bugged me as I consider keeping promises to be extremely important to me which is why I never make them anymore. An I have no clue if she is still waiting for me or if she has moved on. I hope she moved on. Any advise? |

We haven't talked in months and I can't confront her because she's seldom at home and I can't catch her at work. I've been nothing but good to her. We never argued. We went to LA to see a concert together. I was her friend when she used to smoke pot in high school, when she was unemployed and broke. I rushed over to her house with cookies and ice cream when she sent me a text saying that her fiance left her. Now I'm nobody to her after everything I've done for her. I've been so angry and upset about this. I'm not the one who hurt her, but I'm the one getting "the treatment". I don't want to feel like this and then do something crazy.
