Posted: 29 Jan 2016 05:08 PM PST So there's an event coming up and we need a group, so I messaged a friend of mine on Facebook "hey, do you mind if i join your group?" and I waited. She saw the message and it's been like 5 hours but still no response. I was just on FB and she was online 2 minutes ago. I don't understand why she would see it and not reply, because she's the really polite and sweet kind of person who would never ignore me in real life. I would be okay with it if she at least told me no, but ignoring me is worse. I was going to ask her in person, but I'm somewhat shy and I don't want to keep messaging her or asking her about it because then I'd seem clingy. Please help!!! Should I message her again in case she forgot? What do I do? |

I said "this is retarded" (not out loud, just to my group members), and my female friend snapped at me and said "dont ever say that again" in a serious tone. I was confused and apologized over text and she stated "her cousin has autism so it pissed her off". Is this kinda too far? I clearly didn't mean to insult anyone it was just a reaction to a confusing assignment? |

This girl called Chloe. So I'm just gonna give you the short version of what I mean by ruined my life, she went out with my brother and cheated on him twice. That might not seem too bad but one time was at his birthday party, on his birthday with his best friend. That sucked for him. The second time will be mentioned later in this. Chloe did drugs, a lot of them, which eventually led to my brother doing them. So anyway, you're probably wondering how she ruined my life. The second time she cheated on my brother was when him and my mom walked in on my father an her. She had his dick in her mouth when they walked in. Obviously, my brother was devastated, my mom and dad got a divorce and because of the drugs my brother is now in rehab. She totally wrecked my life. After a while I started to miss her. It sounds crazy but the thing is Although she wasn't a great girlfriend to my brother, she was always an amazing friend to me. If I rang her at 3am upset, she'd just sneak into my room with ice cream and pizza and comfort me. Whenpeople bullied me she made them go away, when I was having troubles with friends or my aunt, who I hate, was staying over, she'd let me stay at hers and shed cool for me. She helped me babysit, we knew all of each others secrets, which she still hasn't told anyone even now. She always gave me great birthday and Christmas gifts and lots more. She ruined my life. So why do I miss her so much? |

We were best friends in high-school and dated once for 2 weeks in high-school and once when I was 20 and he was 18, but only for a month. He ended up leaving me for a girl who lived states away. He had tried to cheat on her by dating me too and at first, I agreed to it because I still really liked him, but a week later I ended things. Later I learned that he had told her that he had suggested he date us both, but she said she wouldn't approve and he claimed he told me no, when he didn't. Months later, he stopped talking to me. I found out he got her pregnant because he raped her (she wanted to be a virgin until marriage, he wasn't having that), but she had convinced herself that because she loved him, that it wasn't rape. He went back to her hometown with her and started creating a whole mess of problems. She found out he was trying to "talk" to several girls on FB, telling them he'd marry them and get them pregnant, they'd live together, etc. She also found out about how he cheated on me with her and tried to cheat on her with me. She realized how much of a mental case he really was and kept saying (after the 2nd time he raped her while he was living with her AND her parents) that she was going to send him back home and take a break from him and that she was disgusted with him and that she didn't even know him anymore. Fast forward to today, not long after all that, she stopped responding to me. Either he caught her emailing me and threatened her (which apparently he threatened her a lot) or she knew I'd disapprove of her actions, so she didn't want to deal with me anymore. She ended up getting married to him, having the baby and now they're pregnant with their 2nd baby. They're 22 I believe. I tried to save her from him, she said she'd leave him. Do you think he changed? Last I had heard, he was very immature, irresponsible, a liar, a cheater, emotionally and verbally abusive, as well as manipulative and threatened suicide a number of times and was borderline on physical abuse. |

I only knew a handful of people. I made an effort to be nice to everyone I talk to to ensure a smooth year ahead. There is a girl who became our class representative through voting. I never really liked her since the first day of class so I kept my distance. We never said a word to each other but I did introduce myself to her friend since he was sitting in front of me. One day she accused me of staring at her even though I wasn't. I was just playing attention to the teacher in her general direction. Now she and her friends keep turning to look at me and it gets very annoying. Just the other day, I was eating at the cafeteria with my friends and she sat at a table beside us with another girl I didn't know. Then she proceeded to tell that girl that I like to stare at her. I used to have tons of friends and couldn't decide which plans to commit to for the weekend because I had so many options (9th-11th grade). I had an incepperable best friend and in the fall/winter we ended up dating two guys that were the best of friends and we had other couples we hung out with in addition to some single friends and everything was great. I started to make my circle a little smaller and some of our other friends broke up and my best friend became completely obsessed with her boyfriend and doesn't want to go to college anymore and we just grew apart immensely. So here I am, the middle of senior year, and my only real friend is my boyfriend. I have friends in my classes and at work but no matter what I do I can't seem to be included in their "groups". I don't know what to do... My boyfriend has tons of friends on his hockey team and I want him to go out and have fun but I want to too :( |

On top of that I dont have good relationships with my family members and I have no control over that. I dont know what to do. I go to college but everybody already seems to do there own thing and socialize with people they already know. I went to high school and I was very quiet and generally kept to myself and partially because of whats going on at home. Like I did have a group of friends but we werent the type to hang out on the weekends or anything since they are family-oriented. Also, I knew for a long time im much different than my friends from high school but never bothered to make friends that I can relate to since it seemed like everybody had their group of friends. Now those friends left for college and Im starting to realize I really have nobody. Even people today wouldnt see me as lonely but deep down I really want to talk to somebody. Ive never been in a relationship before either and I have no social media. I dont have time to join college sororities/clubs because I have to work and its expensive. On top of that my parents are very strict so I am never able to go out late at night to a party or even a sleepover.I really want to move out of my house but I have nobody to even room with. I really dont know what to do. I feel like everybody already has there best friend and here am I at 19 years old without a friend that I keep on touch in a regular basis |

Ever since I've gotten here all I've seen is lots of people in cliques. I even tried attending a few club meetings and people will talk to me a little bit when they have to, but then they go right back to their friend groups and I'm left standing around alone. I can't really join their conversations because I don't ever know what they're talking about. I have my own room in an on campus apartment shared with three other girls and although they were nice to me the first week, now they just kind of ignore that I'm even here. They go out and don't invite me at all even though they did the first week and I don't know what happened. It makes me feel really left out. I've been really nice to everybody and I try to dress like they do to fit in. People don't even talk to one another in my classes so I can't make friends there either. I know my education is extremely important, but a big part of the reason I came here was to make friends and start my own life and that's not happening. I'm also trying to find a job to take up some of the time, but I'm also having issues with that because I'm not getting any call backs even with a really good resume (for a college student anyways). What should I do? |

Posted: 29 Jan 2016 11:39 AM PST I've known my best friend since Year 7 (1st year of high-school), in 2011-2012, but I hadn't started hanging out with her up until late Year 8 (2nd high-school year), in 2013. Slowly we went from being strangers, to awkward acquaintances, to friends, to best friends. However, ever since I switched schools from April of 2015, I feel like our friendship is slowly coming to an end. We started talking less and less and now it honestly feels like I'm the one who's "driving" the conversation rather than both of us. Like, I mentioned it to her various times that I feel we've been talking less and less, but I don't think she realizes. Or maybe she doesn't care? When we'd argue, sometimes she'd say "But I don't want to lose my true friend", but I don't know if she still means it. How can I feel so close to a person yet so damn far away? This sucks. I'm currently 16, turning 17 in March, and she's 15, turning 16 in April. I kinda.. doubt we'll continue to be friends until we both reach our twenties. |

Posted: 29 Jan 2016 11:20 AM PST Ok so I don t believe it s right that a guy lives with me before I m married. But his house burnt down 2 weeks ago and I decided that I didn t care that he stays with me and my roommate (who is also my bff) for a while. She didn t care and said he was welcome to stay too but now she says that she feels bad that his house burnt but she doesn t feel right about him staying anymore. She said she doesn t want him to leave today but sooner than July like my boyfriend is planning. (He will be off work the week of July 4th and want to move into an apartment then) WHAT DO I DO AND SAY TO BOTH OF THEM??? |

Posted: 29 Jan 2016 11:05 AM PST my friend was telling me how she's having financial problems and having difficulty paying her bills and supporting her kids every though she works full time. she was telling me her ex husband used old pay check stubs during the divorce proceedings and that is why he pays such little in child support and he is making more now but not helping her anymore. i told her she got screwed and she said i was being mean. was this mean? |

I was afraid of getting in trouble for sexual harassment. I told her if she would join me for dinner tonight, we could talk. She said "I would love to have dinner with you." Was I fearful for nothing in not discussing her boob size at work? Gals, see if you agree with what I told her a dinner. I said you are a beautiful woman just as you are. I haven't made new friends since middle school, and After we graduated from high school my friends are all doing their own things, so we don't hang out anymore. I mentioned I worked for the ABC company. The woman next to me said "Do you know Joe Blow"? I said yes, he is my boss. She ask me if he as a good boss. I told her he was the best boss ever. I want him to be my boss as long as I work there. She ask me if he ever hit on his female employees. Light heartily I said "No but I wish he would. He is a great looking guy". She said I will tell him what you said when I see him. He is my son. I asked her to please not to embarrass him telling him what I said. She said, "Don't worry it won't embarrass him". Did I open my mouth and put my foot in it. I told my bosses mom I wanted him to hit on me. CRAP. Do you think I will be in trouble with my boss? |

Sometimes I'll sit at a table with my closer friends, but realize that I'm basically invisible. Then I'll get up and see if any other people or tables seem interesting, and...pretty much without fail, I will look around the room at the people talking to their close homies, and realize that I really don't fit anywhere. To put it in a different perspective: were I to get married (which is a real possibility within the next year or two), I would feel a bit weird asking any of my friends to be best man. She is really the only true friend I've ever had. Obviously we can't go around without people thinking we're dating, which we never consider. It would ruin what we have. Others always tease us for never considering going out, never having sex (we're in our 20s btw), and just being content with hanging out and doing our own thing. It's almost like men and women can't be just friends without romance between them. Plus people are starting to think I am gay, or think Megan is friend zoning me. But that's not the case! I like other girls (just no luck) and we only want to be friends. Is it weird for us to be just friends? We think we should end our friendship because all the tease is really getting to us. I love Megan to death (not that way), but should we go our separate ways? |

He stopped sharing things with me then we had a fight over something stupid that was his fault and then we stopped talking then I decided to apologize first but now our friendship is not the same he doesn t joke anymore unless I start. He said that the door would be open but when I got there the door seemed locked. I didn't want to pull on it because i didn't want to scare the old people down stairs. I rang the door bell but he didn't answer so I went home and told him what happened. He got annoyed with me because he said that he put tape on the locks. I told him that he never told me that he needed to be more clear with his directions because I didn't know what he wanted me to do. He thought I was stupid for not being able to figure it out on my own. 2. I drunk dialed him once and I never do that before. He went along with it and laughed. I felt embarrassed later on so I apologized. He said that it was fine but when I went over his house the following day, he told me that drunk dialing annoys him and if I did it again, he would stop being friends with me. I haven't done it since then but he keeps on bringing it up and makes it seem like I am some sort of drunk that harasses him all of the time. 3. He told me he would stop hanging out with me because I sent him a lyric to a rap song. I told him to relax and that he was being ridiculous.e I was getting tired of these stupid arguments that we were having and wanted to talk with him. He only agreed to talk with me if I talked on Skype. I didnt because I wanted to talk with him about it in person. he decided to stop being friends with me because i didn't want to do things on his terms. |
