Some people are like "You only need two friends as long as they re good friends" but I don t think that s true. I feel like I don t have any friends sometimes. For example, I have 550 Facebook friends but whenever I make a post, it almost always has zero likes and zero comments. At school, I sometimes try to talk to people, but I m extremely socially anxious in small groups, so I usually wind up saying almost nothing. In class, people talk to me and laugh with me as if we re friends, but outside of class, nobody wants to see me. People act like they like me in class, but as soon as I say "Let s hang out" people automatically disappear. I m a Junior in high school and by now, I m supposed to have lots of friends, right? People my age not only hang out with people in my grade, but they also know people in other grades, and a lot of them even have friends in other school districts. Sometimes this makes me feel like there s something truly wrong with me, but I don t know what that is. Everyone else has friendships that go back years and I haven t even met some of the people in my own grade. Everyone else has stories to tell and inside jokes and stuff like that. Why can t I have that? |

I know many people don't always make many friends their first semester, but I go to a very small private school and people claim they are Christians, but have been nothing but rude to me, as well as my roommates. My only friends I have are my roommates and one other girl, but literally that's it. Sure I've a few acquaintances, but never good friendships. My roommates and I literally are always together because no one else wants to hang out or really cares to speak with us, we can't help but feel like everyone thinks we are the mean girls. We are not mean at all we constantly are smiling at others passing us by and saying hi to others who were in our orientation group, but people are like bothered by us. Any reasons why? |

And she thinks that one of my friends may have taken it when they came to my house. She claims that she has traced her steps since the last time she had worn it and she can't find it. My mom told me that she left it on the kitchen counter and that she thinks I let my friends into the house to hang out (behind her back: I'm not allowed to have friends over unless my parents are home or unless they say it's okay), and they took it. So anyways I have to admit that I may have let my friends into the house a few times (behind her back) and that it IS POSSIBLE for them to get their hands on it without me knowing. These girls have been my friends for about 5-7 years now and I do trust them. But I am also a little curious if they did happen to take it, considering that my mom has turned the house upside down looking for the bracelet and still can't find it. MY QUESTION IS: Should I ask my friends if they took it? How should I confront them? What should I do about this situation? Most of the time when I try to talk to someone, they either cut me off to talk to someone else, or completely ignore me. I talk at a normal volume too. I also get pushed and the person acts like I don't even exist. One of my friends had the same issue, but she doesn't get ignored anymore! I'm not annoying anyone intentionally either. He also forbids her to meet any of her friends, regardless of the sex, but especially she isn't allowed to meet or talk to me, her guy best friend. First, she didn't obey and we met until he found out, he drove immediately to her (she didn't want me to meet him), yelled at her, destroyed the alcohol and cigarettes she had and drove her home. That's 7 weeks ago and the last day I saw her. Also, he threatened her very often that he would break up if she didn't obey him. Then he forced her to delete and block me in WhatsApp, though she unblocked me, but we texted much less because she was always afraid he'd find out. She texted me that she misses me and that she'd talk to me in the next few days. A few minutes later I was blocked, so he must somehow noticed that. I knew for sure she'd never want to loose me. But instead she texted me that she wants to stop being friends with me. I asked why and her reply was that she'd report me to the police if I didn't stop bothering her. I am sure her boyfriend forced her to do this, but I'm also angry at her because she decided to treat me like this. I told her she won't be successful in doing that and that she's disrespectful, but that I'm gonna be there for her. But it really hurts and we didn't talk for almost two weeks. What should I do? I'm gonna kick his *** anyway. |

Here's what's going on, A few days ago I was on facebook (on saturday to be exact) and I saw some photo's of my best friend. She had a birthday party and I wasn't invited. I didn't even know there was a party happening. A few days before on the bus ride to school she told me she'd be going to her mom's to spend the weekend with her. She never mentioned a party. She has been sort of ignoring me for a while now and spending more time with this preppy group of girls (and the leader of the group is my arch nemesis and my best friend knows this, the leader did something unforgivable to me in the fifth grade) and she only talks to me on the bus ride to school and home, if she's even riding that day because she's barely ever on the bus. All the preppy girls from that group we're at that party and it looked like they we're all having a really good time. Me and my bff have been friends since the first grade, and ever since 6th grade she's been drifting away towards that preppy group. I'm deeply hurt from not being invited to her birthday party. She's my best friend, I wanted to be there for her sweet 16! It's monday today and I wanted to talk to her about why I wasn't invited but she wasn't here today. So my real question is, what should I say to her tomorrow? I have to ride the same bus as her. Should I sit with her still? |

Since then I found myself torn. Like how do I interfere with that? For my 1st sem, I made few friends (4) and had small talk with others. For the whole sem, I would go eat lunch at the library & pretend that I had a lot of work so ppl in the library looking at me carrying a meal thought that I had things to do& that I'm not a loner. I ate lunch sometimes with a friend who went to my highschool & now college. I commute &my school is not exactly a commuter school it's private& expensive&everyone is from different states and dorms. I tried to make friends and even step out of the usual race I usually hang out with (asians. i'm also asian). ppl say i'm pretty and that i'm genuinely a nice person but why doesn't anyone wanna be friends with me? last sem i saw a lot of people who were already friends (from their dorms and stuff) and i was just like how am i going to join their friendship or just try to talk to new people who will probably think i'm just weird... and this semester, my high school friend will not be attending because of some money issues so i'll be eating alone in the library for 4 months. i just can't find myself making long term friends, just small talk. i think it's cuz im a commuter. out of the 4 friends, i only have one of their instagrams & snapchat's and that's pretty much it... it sucks and i don't know how i'll be able to do this. |

We were never technically in a relationship (because he could never commit, might I add), but there was a time when we might as well have been. She then was making plans for New Years with me and her. We went out on New Years (even slept together). But the very next morning she ended it. Not giving me a real reason why. I have not texted her (but she texted me once or twice), I do not comment or like anything on her Facebook, I do not look at her snapchat stories (but she always looks at mine) and now she deleted me off Facebook after 2 weeks of the Break Up. Since, that incident we've drawn closer and she talks to me about prety much evrything. Shes also met some other friends along the way. (For reference to understand the situation I gota tell you all this) Friend A is the 'gay' one, friend B is my close friend and friend C is the playful one. Friend A talks to friend C very seriously but mean even though he says that he loves him, confessing his feelings to him like a girl would, and friend C says stuff like, "I would kiss you and hug you," but he's not serious about it he's just joking. Anyway, I seem to have developed feelings for friend C, but so has friend B, and because of certain complications im not allowed to be in relationships until a curtain age. Anyway I need help trying to figure out what to do about my feelings for him, cuz he's been in a relationship before, but it ended, and so have I and I'm not looking to get hurt again. I wanna know whether I should just work on setting my feelings aside or telling him (altho I tried but I bailed saying I was joking, which complicates things more). Today, I was playing against someone that would just tap the ball so it would barely go over the net and I'd have to run all the way up and hit it. If I even got to it in time, he'd hit it behind me. It was a bit annoying since it obvious didn't take much skill to do. I told him "good job" after and he said "I know". But how can I win in these situations? |

I tell f2 that f1 is mad at her for these things, and i explain why ,but she doesn t seem to care. she thinks that what she has done is fine (she doesn t think she s done anything wrong), and refuses to call f1 and apologize, even if its a fake apology that she gives to her for my sake so that way they can be on speaking terms at least and I wouldn t be awkwardly in the middle. at this point, f1 isn t ever going to speak to f2 again if f2 doesn t call her, and f2 doesn t want to, even for my sake. f1 is frustrated, and i would be too. Now you would probably say just drop F2 since i don t even go to school with her right? except I have become so close with f2 and her new friends at her high school and i can t just let go of that friendship, especially considering these two people are the only two close friends I have (I have almost nobody else - any of my other friends I m barely friends with) I continue to try to get f2 to see that f1 has reason to be mad, but she refuses to apologize for something she says she didn t do wrong |

Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:56 PM PST There's these 2 or 3 guys from my class, that annoy me at school, I don't even talk to them, but they still bully me. They're just making fun of me, and if I start a fight I will just be the one who's provoked in this situation. I can't always move away, and sometimes they don't let me do it. I am bad at making them think they're not making me nervous. Should I just start off a fight randomly sometimes and beat some of 'em to hell, but what if I fail to beat him? They do this cause I don't have friends who will protect me in that high-school. I got pissed off and told my class leader but I doubt he will stop them... Actually I'm not the kind of person who asks for help, I usually solve problems on my own, but I really don't know what to do when someone is provoking me like this, a tip maybe? Thanks |

I moved to an English public school for my tenth and eleventh year and now I want to move back to my old French school. But if i move back , I have to take religion 30, get there by 8:30 (current school starts at 9:45), and speak French 24/7 (which I'm not good at). But moving back means I get to graduate with the people I grew up with. So what should I do? |

We hang out almost every weekend, we are always partners when we need them in school and we are in almost all the same classes. She is one of those people who has a lot of friends and can bounce back and forth between them, almost always landing on me again. Lately I ve been noticing when we hand out with other people she acts like I mean nothing to her. Ex) Just today we were in a group of four and she couldn t keep her hands off one of the girls (not me!) She kept saying things like "I m sleeping next to Julia!" And "Julia, you have to be my partner!". I try not to let it get to me but she does other things like ex? I ask if we can hang out this weekend and she gets excited and says "sure!" Then when the time comes for us to hang out she say "oh sorry we can t hang out I m hanging out with my friend" and let me point out that this "friend" is someone she hasn t seen in years and was never good friends with her anyway. Last time she cos her husband had a stroke. Never got a response back from that. I went on vacation stayed closed bye I called her no answer. She never e-mailed me how was pto, for she does this time and time again but not this time. Now I haven't spoken or e-mail her in 2 weeks and now I don't know what to say to her just saw her try another chef but I just said hi and kept walkin. Seems like she done w this friendship because no answers back from emails or calls. What should I do?! Busy maybe but I see her on fb all the time talking to another 0?! It hurts but I don't know what to do let it go and move on. For I'm on light duty I torn my tendon in my bicep and heard nothing from her. For when she was out on Loa I kept in touch w her...so what should I do here?!I don't want this friendship if it's one here w what I'm going to say if she ever does contact me I just shut down now. |

Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:37 PM PST i'm a gay male and in the closet and no one knows, not even my best friend...well i have a couple best friends but one of my best friends, i like. :/ he's super touchy/flirty with me all the time and we're really close but i think he's that way with all his close friends and he just means it in a bro way. here's the problem though...i'm not saying what social media it is or anything, but we are both kind of well-known online, and people ship us together, like really ship us together very intensely. it's not a huge deal but enough to make things awkward. he mostly ignores it but i think it pisses him off cause he has a girlfriend, he's denied it to people that think we're together before but i've never denied it cause i kinda want it to be true...:/ anyway it's just really uncomfortable and it's like anything we do people are reading into and it's affecting my relationship with him. i don't MIND that people ship us together, and i don't wanna crush their dreams or anything, because i don't want to deny it and have them think i think being gay is a bad thing, but at the same time it's straining our relationship, what should i do? |

Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:26 PM PST today in the last class we have iPads for school so this girl asks me if I can hold an iPad case in my bag & I thought it was hers & she just needed me to hold it so I put it in my bag & she made me zip it then a guy in my class came back & was yelling at his friends asking where his case was & they all saw her make me hide it but said they didnt know. I didnt know what to do & knew if I gave it to him he would flip out bc hes a jerk & was afraid I would get in trouble & I never talk so it would be weird & he d prob think I took it on my own & just didn t know what to do. The bell rang I tried to stay behind so I could leave the case on his desk (it didn t have the iPad in it) but him & his friends wouldnt leave & walked behind me in the hall. I went back near the class after & left the case at the top of the stairs near the room Idk what to do bc someone told him I had it when we were in the class but everyone told him it wasnt me & some of the friends saw me leave with it & prob think I stole it & im afraid they ll tell him it was me & someone will take it from where I left it & he ll think I stole it & I ll get in trouble or suspended. I know it was really stupid & would give it to him if I could go back Im hoping he ll find it & no one will take it & I cant change it now. It was an idiot thing to do but none of his friends who saw would help me out. Im terrified to go to school tomorrow & I told my mom about the situation & she didn t help & Idk what to do. I got really close with do as son, were still good friends, almost dated. I'm very close with both of them, but I'm closer with Dona. She's been there for me a lot, 16th birthday, homecoming crowning, supported me when I lost & gained my vision back etc. she's a very reserved person, after losing her husband & daughter 4yrs ago. But she's always super loving, caring to me, always giving hugs & laughing together, always happy, we have a special bond. Last year she quit Zumba due to fight she had with Elsa, so we don't see her anymore but I miss her so much, so I text her "have a great day!" Every know and then.. My grandma died a couple weeks ago & surprisingly Dona had came to her funeral, I was crying very hard & shaking, She came down the line hugging family, we she got to me I bawled out crying even harder when I saw her, Life seemed at its worst & to see her after months without her, I missed her so much.cit was overwhelming. She gave me the biggest/longest hug. She kept telling me that it's okay, it's okay to cry. It was a special moment, very hard & overwhelming. Days letter she would text me checking on me. Was it bad of me to cry more? How do you think she felt seeing me like that? is it bad that we are close? (FYI I'm very close with my mom, were bestfriends, there is nothing my mom lacks) |
| Question: My best friend is going nowhere in life? Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:24 PM PST I have been friends with this guy since 7th grade, and we became quick best friends. We were both the shy and reclusive type gamers, so we naturally kept to ourselves throughout most of middle school. Come high school, things started to change. I started to come out of my shell progressively and started getting better grades. The problem was, he hasnt changed much since freshman year. He is constantly failing classes without a care, he has no goals or motivation. Every time I bring up the issue with him asking what his plans are or why he is failing school, he gets incredibly sensitive and defensive and usually says something like "oh i'll be an author" or some other odd job and he just goes back to being his same old self. The worst part is he's in denial. He's convinced he's going to graduate, but his grades say otherwise. I would likehim to find the same motivation that pushed me through high school and got my goals in check. He is simply too sensitive, and every time I try to help him out he takes it as a personal attack and really starts to act irrationally. I dont want to watch my best friend fall into the gutter. He is 19 already, and he's still the same old shy recluse from 7 years ago. He's failed straight through high school and is too sensitive to talk about his failures. He is such a stubborn individual, and often says he is lazy and fears other people will make fun of him. I love this guy, but he dosent want to face himself or his future. Help? |
| Question: Birthday parties. Big deal or no? Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:23 PM PST So I work graveyard shift. My kids birthday is coming up and I took their birthday off. I didn't have plans. Because their father and I are separated so I left it open for whatever. Then I thought it would be nice to take them to get their nails done and go to a movie. So we got to a party this past weekend and family says I could use the room for my kids. I haven't really planned anything yet. So i say I will let them know. So my estranged husband decided to make plans with his friends to rent a hotel room for them to have a sleepover and have the party in the same place my family offered. I thought he was asking my opinion so I just asked who was gonna pay for it. Because he decided to merge the party with his friends. So when I mentioned what I wanted to do with the girls for their birthday....he said they would prefer the sleepover. Knocking my idea. I told him the girls wouldn't care either way as long as we involve them....I was trying to think of a way to involve just immediate family and he wants to involve his friends. I guess I'm overreacting....is it wrong for me to want to take my girls for a simple day of manicure and movie in their birthday? |

I have to take the city bus because they don't have normal school busses here in Germany. There's this girl that is in the bus quite often in the morning. We get off at the same stop because we still both go to school. I think she's really pretty and she seems nice from what I have seen. I have no idea how I could even talk to her because I used to live in the USA and moved to Germany about 3 years ago and German is quite complicated so I don't speak it grammatically perfect but I don't have much of an accent, it just sounds stupid when I say something wrong. I really don't like talking to many people other than my closest friends who obviously have an understanding for my speach. (The bus is quite full with other kids) Any suggestions for what I could do? |
| Question: Ashamed of crying by music? Posted: 25 Jan 2016 12:04 PM PST Okay, I'm a 19 year old guy and I love watching films and am a huge fan of the film scores (soundtracks) that come with it. Lately, I started to realize that whenever a beautiful theme sets in at certain scenes, I can't help but shed a tear. Hard to admit, I'm a huge admirer of the art that are the old Disney animated movies, and very often, the music too. This isn't a big problem by itself, but my trouble is this; I have a girlfriend, and for some reason I'm scared of watching these movies together that have such impact on me. Please note, I'm not at all a soft, girly type, but this is just one of my weak spots. Frankly, I'm afraid that when I show this side of me (shedding a tear whenever the music kicks in), she will somehow be less attracted to me. I was just thinking about all these things being said like "my boyfriend isn't manly enough", or the contrary "he's not showing his emotions/gentle side enough".. Please girls, tell me if you would or wouldn't mind things like that.. I myself see it as a positive thing, being emotionally engaged with music, but I can't tell what she might think.. |

Posted: 25 Jan 2016 11:41 AM PST So I got into an argument with some of my friends because I've said memes are stupid and then they all attacked me saying I was stupid so I got defensive and this isn't the first time that they've insulted me but I usually just ignore it. Then one of my closest friends, lets call her Georgia, said how she doesn't want to be my friend anymore because it's too draining for her even though I've been there for her for everything and she's only been there for half of my "baggage". Then according to her I talk about people behind their backs which I suppose is the correct term but usually if someone slags you off and says you're inactive or stupid you would go to your best friend and complain would you not? You're feeling hurt so yeah. Then they all insult my boyfriend and call him a pathetic excuse and everything which hurts me even more but they all think it's a good laugh. What hurts me the most though is that they're not taking any responsibility for what they've done and they're blaming everything on me. My mum says she thought that "Georgia" was better than that. So did my dad. I have no idea what to do. Mum says I should just ignore them but its hard to move on when you've been such good friends with them for so long. They've all blocked me and my boyfriend on social media as well. I'm so confused |

Everything was fine and we were best friends until last summer during band camp. She was insulting me and she was being a huge brat to the drum majors. Like I was having a conversation with her during break, a convo I thought she was listening to, but she looked at me and said "Wow, you have a lot of pimples on your forehead." and she turned around and talked to someone else! She's said worse stuff too. She'll also get all in your personal space and try to pick you up and ****, and she also gets like right next to me and touches me in places I don't want to be touched by her. Then she just laughs it off and says it's because she's weird and if I don't accept that she's weird then she'll hate me forever or some ****. She said she was moving last year and she STILL hasn't moved. And when me and my other friends ask when she's going to move, she gets offended! What the **** is this girl's problem!! I need advice on this, I don't like her getting in my personal space because I'm claustrophobic but she doesn't believe me, I also have a fear of falling, not a fear of heights but a fear of falling, but she tried to pull me off a ******* stage and I screamed bloody murder because I was terrified of falling off, and afterwards she said "The stage isn't even that high, stop being a baby" I don't want to be her friend anymore but I also don't want to be a dick.
